All the while Jun spoke, Kaida listened solemnly. Jun didn't need any 'it's going to be okay' or 'it gets better' from Kaida— that wasn't her style. If Jun wanted to be heard, Kaida was here to listen, and that's exactly what she did with only the occasional hum to let Jun know she was still there. She wouldn't pretend to know what Jun had gone through, as that was always something only Jun would know the severity of.[break][break]

Silently, Kaida put a hand on Jun's shoulder and told her not to brush away her tears. "It's proof that you're still here." Kaida said, retracting her hand as to not overstep her boundaries. The senior knew how she was with physical touches. "But you shouldn't let that overcome you. The past is the past, and it should stay as that. You can stay in the past with your regrets, or stay here where you can fix what you did wrong." [break][break]

She looked down at her arm. "I was in a similar situation once, too. My quirk didn't manifest until I was about seven. I was put under immense emotional duress by my sister in an efforts to bring it out after my brother broke my arm and she wasn't there to help me. She did that because she didn't know what my parents would do to me if I didn't have a quirk." Kaida was deadpan, and blunt. "Killed me, most likely. My sister had her reasons, however poor in standards." Kaida looked at Jun. "Do you, or are you just holding yourself back from being happy for no reason?"[break][break]

She stopped. "Do you not think you deserve it?"

The word felt sticky on her tongue, like thick molasses she couldn't wade through. The only person she had ever called a sister had abandoned her, whether for good reason or not. "I'm inclined to agree," Kaida said solemnly, a frown pulling at her lips. "one way or another, we're burdened and that burden won't be going away any time soon— perhaps not ever." She shook her head. "But it's up to us to decide what to do with that power. I won't back down from taking down my family, just as you shouldn't ever stop fighting to be you. Jun," The senior momentarily paused to ruffle the upperclassman's hair, before stepping away with a small smile on her features. "just know whatever happens between us, I'll always be proud of you."[break][break]

With that, Kaida left Jun on her own. She had a feeling that this was something only Jun could work through by herself.
