It was during a routine sale that Bakiri Retsu's tranquil life of crime was turned upside down. What had at first looked like a simple trade between Radical extremists was quick to get out of hand when her trading partner, Junior, skimped on his side of the deal causing guns to be drawn. Chaos was thrown into the equation when Sebastian Sinclaire skated into the meeting and was mistaken by Retsu for an assassin sent to assist in killing her in order to take over her turf. After a brief fight that sent Junior and his goons fleeing, left Sebastian grievously unharmed and Retsu with severe injuries she swore vengeance on both the unknown assassin and the Akimichi family that (allegedly) hired him to kill her.

Eager to blow off some steam after setting her nose and bandaging her leg Retsu headed into the forest to test new grenades and attain her revenge on the 'bush' portion of the ambush she just faced. Stumbling into lylyth when one of her experimental bombs took out a tree stump the two decided to go Blast Fishing and after leisurely chatting by the campfire Retsu returned to Tokyo with a clear head and a newfound hatred for the city's inhabitants.

After she returned to her turf she found out -albeit the realization did not quite set in- that actions have consequences and the crime family she tossed bombs at were starting to muscle their way into her turf. Were both parties logical the encounter would have started with posturing, harsh words and perhaps some exchanged blows. Unfortunately for the Akimichi family Retsu was anything but reasonable and when she came across a group of thugs straying into her territory all hell broke loose. Facing off against the armed men in a fair 1v5 Retsu ran into a slight problem when one of them turned out to be wearing a bullet- and stab-proof vest. Deciding the best way to get around the problem was to shove a concussion grenade down said vest and bear hug him to make sure he can't get it out in time Retsu ended up taking more damage from the grenade than she'd expected and without Health Insurance her prospects were dire indeed until the villain Mummy stumbled onto the scene! Together Bakiri Retsu and Rui Matsui  throw down against the enemy's reinforcements, taking only minor injuries such as three bullets to the chest in the process. Having a hunch as to who sent the goons Retsu exchanged contact info with Rui to invite her along to the inevitable grand finale. It was bound to be a blast.

In the wake of the fight Retsu paid some info brokers to make sure she was right about everything and confirmed it was the Akimichi Family that's behind her troubles as she'd expected after she knocked out the don's son -Junior- with a grenade. Additionally she discovered they own a factory and several distribution centers throughout the city to spread their goods -both legal and illegal- far and wide. In a rare moment of introspection she realized she wasn't equipped to take the entire family on quite yet and slowly cornered them by taking out their network while building up her arsenal instead.

While working on exactly that her phone is hacked by facade  and she's invited to a meeting. Taking the hacking as a threat and not being a hypocrite at all, not in the slightest, really, she showed up armed for bear, eager to find out whether he's a Hacker or a hack job. After some back and forth Facade and Bakuretsu manage to come to an understanding and set up a partnership of sorts, promising to meet again in the future to collaborate and combine their respective areas of expertise into a whole that is more (destructive) than the sum of its parts.

With her preparations as done as they could be and her info brokers coming through once more Retsu homes in on the Akimichi family, discovering the exact location of their factory by the bay as well as a time slot where the entire family would be present. Texting Rui Matsui about it Retsu was both surprised and annoyed when the horned menace didn't show up for some Industrialized Violence. Little did she know not one but two of them showed up, for not only did Rui in fact arrive -and promptly get taken hostage when she misunderstood that they were gonna meet inside the factory- but her brother, Shō Matsui , also joined the party unbeknownst to either of them. Having taken on a hit job on don Akimichi it was pure coincidence that he was present at the same time as Retsu. Ignorant of each other both rampage through the factory, their actions hindering each other as much as they helped before the pair finally met near the center of the factory in the very room Rui was being held hostage in. Unaware they're both after the same targets Sho and Retsu got into a fight that lasted a solid three seconds during which the entire Akimichi family died, Retsu lost her right hand and three fingers on her left, Rui used one of her captors as a horse and Sho -allegedly- got a bit of soot on his jacket. With Rui present to stop Sho and Retsu from killing each other -and uncripple the latter- all three of them end up leaving the place on relatively friendly terms.

With her foes bested and a power vacuum in their -and now her- territory Retsu has no time to rest, one eye looking to the future, eager to consolidate her gains before the vultures swoop in.

Her quarrel with the Akimichi had come to a permanent end but questions still remained. Where did some no-name crime family manage to get enough weaponry to set up an arms trade throughout so much of Tokyo and the know-how to manage it? More importantly, how was it still making its way into her turf without passing through her hands despite them being gone? Retsu needed answers and she needed them fast. Luckily her inquiries were Welcome to Nirvana, the perfectly legal club beneath which laid a far less legal underground club of info brokers she'd had dealings with before. Once there she found that she'd gone looking for copper yet struck gold, meeting up with not just Rui Matsui once more but also one of the future leaders of Pantheon, Sonya Chernovna , and the very owner of the club she'd been intending to head down to, Elias . A meeting that turned out remarkably productive, setting her up with connections and several jobs even before she headed down to the Hibernacula to confirm her suspicions.

Info from there had led her to seek out and accept a mercenary contract that once more brought her back to the bay. The contractor had been tipped off to an illegal weapon shipment and put together a team to raid the cargo ship it'd be coming in on. It should have been smooth sailing. Their strategy was all set until a helicopter arrived and threw Revision  into the mix. So, about that plan... Didn't quite end up going Retsu's way. With the mercenaries dropping one by one until naught but Retsu herself was left the situation seemed dire. Yet in one certain aspect both parties found a common goal. Profit. A deal was struck and a larger part of Tokyo's arms trade now fell under Bakuretsu's purview. Yet who the Akimichis suppliers had been still remained a mystery, one that would remain so for quite a while.

When the incident that took place during the 4th of May temporarily changed the abilities of both herself and several of her enemies Retsu took the opportunity to get rid of one in particular that had both been a thorn in her side and too strong to get rid of. When an uninvolved party in the form of rhea intervenes Mind tricks and intrusive thoughts clash, forcing Retsu to flee the scene before her injuries and the authorities alike could put her under. With her enemy dead and her still alive she'd chalk it up as a victory, disregarding her wounded pride. For now. 

The founding of the criminal organization Pantheon and its network ENKI was where Retsu's rise sped up exponentially. With connections to both of its founders -Facade and Ishtar- and her turf expanded far beyond what it had been mere weeks before she was in the perfect position to take up the mantle of Director within the newly founded group. Not one to waste an opportunity Bakuretsu would strike thrice during their opening shot, the event known as Operation Babel that held Tokyo in its grip for a whole twenty four hours.

Making full use of her new rank and the chaos spreading hero society's resources thin Retsu gathered several groups of the worst people you know, met up with Rui Matsui and raided a large shopping mall in the most chaotic manner possible. Truly, With friends like these... ...who needed enemies? The arrival of Shō Matsui proved it was definitely not Retsu as his sudden appearance forced her to rush to grab what she needed and get out before it turned into a fight, something made all the harder by the presence of Kushiki Kioko and ctrl .

Having learned from her previous attack on a ship she made sure she was on the side that had the helicopter during The ASTA Raid. Together with Rui Matsui and Jackie Maradona she raided the support company's shipment of the latest tech, snagging herself materials that were perhaps even more valuable than the massive amount of money she'd made from the mall raid. It would certainly allow her to upgrade her arsenal tremendously turning her into a far larger threat than before.

High on her successes Retsu set the stage to hijack a police precinct's press conference near the closing moments of Operation Babel. With Fifteen minutes to Mayhem the vigilante CHIRP ♪♪ was the only one who caught on to what was about to happen. Despite his best attempts he failed to stop the plan, succeeding however in saving several lives -including Retsu's own- by getting a bomb planted by a rivaling faction out of the area. With the stage taken Retsu's message rang loud and clear, footage of her speech spreading like wildfire.

"This is just the beginning."
