The idea of signing up for a class with Stellar was a nauseating thought. She was too chatty for Ylva's liking, and even though she believed she knew what she was doing when it came to Super Moves it wasn't worth the headache. Besides a few questions to someone who had taken her class gave her everything she needed to know. So now it was just a matter of enlisting someone's help and who better than Misaki. Misaki was about the only person on campus Ylva didn't actively dislike spending time with even if she wasn't open about it and when she brought up the idea Misaki agreed as she had her own supermove she wanted to work on.[break][break]
Meeting at the training grounds at noon, specifically in an isolated area, Ylva would wait. She was dressed in her gym clothes and had brought a pack of water. Partially to keep herself hydrated and partially as target practice. She had an idea for a move that she wanted to try, but she wasn't sure if Misaki would want to be her target for the purpose of this exercise.[break][break]

The temptation to bail on this "girls' night" was very strong. Ever since the Sports Festival and spat Ylva had with her parents for the first time she had become a bit more adventurous when it came to socializing. This of course only applied to things off campus as she didn't really want to socialize with any of her peers. She hadn't really spoken to Masao since they punched each other in the Sports Festival arena, but when the nerd offered to make her a weapon to sweeten further the deal of going to the girls' night, she considered it...for a moment before outright refusing.

Misaki, however, had a different tactic, and Ylva could see what she was doing by suggesting she was "afraid" of girls' night. Somehow, she knew how to push her buttons in a way that Ylva could respect, unlike Andy's shady bribe. Still, she was going to get that battle axe made since she knew Andy's whole 'honor' schtick wouldn't let her go back on her word. [break][break]
She would show up shortly after the other two, her now slightly longer hair tied up in a small ponytail and wearing a loose fitting t-shirt, black shorts and carrying a small bag. As she stepped into the room she frowned at the sight of the two most annoying red heads she knew. Making her presence known, she'd move forward and take a water bottle out of her bag and placed it down next to Jun mid-rant. "If you're that worried, just drink water, Kanjo." She'd then take out another water bottle, which clearly didn't contain water and the culprit behind that soon followed - a bottle of shochu. "If you're going to give a gift, make it a good one." She looked at Julienne for a moment as she seemed familiar, but ultimately, she couldn't quite place it. Taking a seat in the corner of the room, she'd pull out her phone and scroll through it. "Focus, Andy." Ylva would bark out as they moved through the obstacles. If there was anyone that was going to drag them down it would be a support student like Masao. Not only did she suck at this kind of thing, but she was too busy running her mouth. Instead of doing the smart thing and keeping track of the timer on the bomb. [break][break]
She would wave away the chains that Jun would offer for support, and instead, she would make a progressive, rudimentary set of footholds that would fall apart once she stood on them. She would use these to climb up, mostly skipping the rock climbing wall entirely, and once she made it to the top, she would begrudgingly agree with Masao internally and speak up, "Since Gen is passing it back to Jun, they go first." She'd look at Masao. "Don't slow us down with your clunky armor." While she wasn't sharing quite yet, she did have an idea on how to move through this obstacle course quickly, but first, she would create a sheet of ice on another group's path and watched as they slipped and dropped the bomb. "Quirks are tools, you moron." Her anger flared up as she spoke with more emotion than Masao had likely ever heard. "You're a support course student like that one over there." The ice had begun to melt as Ylva was on the move, providing a clearer picture of what was happening on each side. "Your tool is a shield; mine is a sword." She was ready to destroy Masao Ando here and now.[break][break]
Whether it was arrogance or principle, when Andy dropped her defenses, Ylva released her hold on her quirk, causing the ice walls surrounding them to melt rapidly. When it came to a brawl, Ylva was confident that she wouldn't lose, especially not to a support student and not to someone she hated more than anyone else. [break][break]
Ylva was caught off guard by Andy ditching her armor and decided to play along. She sadly knew Andy better than anyone, having been forced to spend so much time with her, and would take the punch directed at her by turning her head. The impact, easily leaving a bruise and causing her nose to bleed, didn't stop her advance. She would curl her right arm into a fist and swing hard into Masao Ando's gut, and assuming she didn't fall, she would grab her by the cuff of her shirt and reel her arm back ready to throw the giantess out of the ring. What an idiot. Anyone worth their salt could figure out that this was a trap, and more than that, when she had made eye contact with Julienne, she had expected her to pick up on her deceit. It worked like a charm as Julienne collided with the water and came flying in her direction. A few steps to the left to make sure she didn't land on Ylva and she would go back to focusing on collecting more and more balloons. [break][break]
As the timer started to count down from 30 seconds left, she would briefly make eye contact with Julienne again before refocusing on the task at hand. She had nothing to say to her or anyone, it was their fault they got in her way. Should have just stayed outside of the circle like all the others. While Ylva could have supported Kei in his conflict she had told him to handle his shit and for the most part he did. The extra water on the battlefield meant that Ylva had more ammunition and she could keep the other two isolated while she took out Andy. Focusing her energy flow on the field she created a few jagged ice walls that separated the battlefield in two and also limited the area Andy could move about. She wasn't exactly known to be quick on her feet, but neither was Ylva and she didn't want to risk any interference.[break][break]

Well this one had guts that was for sure. Ylva always expected a negative reaction to her actions since, in her eyes no one understood how important it was to her to reach the top of the hero world. Well, it was important to her AND her family but that was another story for another day. [break][break]
Guts, however, didn't mean that she was making a smart decision. Ylva would stop her assault after she observed Julienne snipe a balloon at a higher speed than she'd seen from most of the competitors. Ylva's instinct was just to freeze the area but that pesky rule about not attacking others directly. So, after observing Julienne's tactics, she opted for a different approach - a feint.[break][break]
Ylva didn't actually need to direct her hands to use her quirk she just did so as it helped her focus. So, as Julienne sniped a few balloons, she targeted another one as bait, freezing it as it began to fall faster. Assuming she went for it Ylva would release her frozen hold, causing the ice to turn back to water. At best it would give her an opening to grab more and at worst it would take Julienne out of the fight entirely. They had less than 60 seconds left before the event was over so there wasn't much more room for error.[break][break]

Boy, was this guy irritating. He talked in such a stupid way that if it hadn't been for her overwhelming desire to win she would have honestly left. She was willing to stomach it for the time being with a sigh as she continued on, advancing past another racer in the process. One left, and it was another complete victory.[break][break]
As she punched the gas, she didn't feel the car accelerating; it was slowing down. She would turn to Jouma and watching him for a moment as he fiddled with the engine. She didn't want to have to risk them losing with a reckless maneuver yet she ultimately didn't have a choice. Even if they picked up speed at the rate they were accelerating previously, they wouldn't overtake the lead before the race was over. "Hold onto something...or don't." Even if Jouma was thrown from the vehicle she would still get the win the only that prompted her to warn Jouma was that he was able to get them this far.[break][break]
She would release her foot from the gas entirely, she would coat the path in front of them with a sheet of ice. Unlike those who failed before them she was prepared and used the lack of friction to their advantage continually increasing the length of the path while she kept the car steady. Soon, they caught up to the other car and were neck and neck just in time for Jouma to fix the engine. Ylva would drop the ice entirely and slam down on the gas. "Take out their tires. After collecting about a dozen herself and stopping others from doing the same, most either choose one or two paths. They either moved outside of her perceived range of influence, which in reality was the whole arena, or they chose to challenge her directly and be more aggressive in their tactics. Unfortunately for the latter, it wasn't exactly that easy given the clause of not being able to attack each other directly.[break][break]

For as irritating as Jouma was to the senses, he had managed to do something that Ylva couldn't, which was about the only praise she could give him.
