And so the heavens opened up and said, "Come, let us go down and confuse them, so that they may not know our works."
OPERATION BABEL
The rise of quirks lead to new definitions and labels being placed upon individuals. One of the most notorious was the codification of one particular word; 'Villainy' the act of using a quirk in an unlawful manner. Villain became synonymous with crime and the heights of criminal intent. Even today, Villains remain a part of the ecosystem of our daily lives, ever adrift without a support structure of their own.
Until now anyway.
The Advent of the ENKI system has changed the paradigm. Villains have access to support rivaling heroes and some of these villains have begun to use it. Besides these small instances, the system has not seen a true test of its capabilities and so a message has gone out across the many ENKI devices scattered around the city.
A call to action, an invitation to mayhem, a summons by the heavens above.
Across the city, villains begin acting at the same time, their attacks completely unrelated to one another in appearance. The only thing in common? The timing. Heists, attacks, bombings, violence, raids, hostile moves begin spreading across the city in a sudden flare of activity. Villains taking advantage of the ENKI system to coordinate, get the resources they need, and vanish after drawing it out as long as they dare...
The perfect stress test, not only of the system, but of Hero Society.
Event Structure:
This is a semi-autonomous event. What that means is that players are invited to participate by creating their own threads using the event itself as the core prompt. The story of this event takes place over the course of a twenty-four hour period within the vicinity of Tokyo and is considered to be a canon event for the purposes of the site's overall plot.
The plot will begin with a single IC/narrative intro to the event, kicking it off and allowing some people to react to the initial scenario. Afterwards players will be allowed to participate in their own way by creating their own threads.
Please make sure to tag your thread with [Babel] to get credit for participating in the event and link it back here so others can follow along!
This event, features villain-related combat. As such, players should be aware that characters that do not have a Hero License may be subject to IC consequences. For example, if a U.A. Student attempts to stop a villain, they may find themselves getting in trouble with U.A.'s administration. Likewise, if a Vigilante were to engage in combat, they could find themselves getting arrested for operating without a license.
Thread Types:
Story Threads: These threads are hosted by Webby and BlueJay that players may participate in.
Challenge Threads: These threads are similar to Threatening Missions, and they follow the premise of the Event: villains conducting heists, attacks, bombings, violence, raids, etc. while others try to stop them. They can PVP or PVE. NPCs made as part of the Challenge Thread should not be any stronger than C-Tier.
Rewards:
This is green-lit by the staff! Much thanks to them for allowing this craziness to happen.
Players can earn a maximum of 150 Event Tokens by participating in the Event via posting in the Story Threads or completing Challenge Threads.
