[attr="class","likedotitle2"]SPORTS FESTIVAL [2024]
[attr="class","likedoinfo"]The time has come for the annual U.A.U Sports Festival, a tournament of physical capability that gives the Hero, Support, General Studies, and even Business students a chance to show off in front of Pro Heroes who might want to hire them someday!
On FFJ we're trying something new! You might notice that no signup form is included this time around; this is because we will be trying out limited-time prompts for the season instead! We hope this takes some of the pressure to keep up with posting requirements when IRL gets in the way!
However, this doesn't mean we're done with moderated events! At the discretion of each staff member, there will be some first-come, first-serve signups, either for an existing prompt or perhaps an entirely new one related to the Sports Festival!
We also understand that running a thread on your own and keeping the momentum going can be difficult, so aside from any member-submitted events, this will be the event for the entire season. The only requirement you'll have is that any threads related to the Sports Festival must be completed by December 1st, 2024. For any Sports Festival threads, regardless of what prompt, please put [SF] at the beginning of your thread so we can make sure we get you your rewards and SFP (Sports Festival Points)!
Now, you might be asking what Sports Festival Points (SFP) are. Sports Festival Points are our attempt to keep things competitive between members without emphasizing PVP as the endpoint! We know not all of you are interested in PVP, but might like to be part of the competition, so for the nine prompts dedicated to students, you earn 1 SFP for each! At the end of the season, these SFP determine your IC placement in the Sports Festival [This is something you can opt out of when the time comes!], with the more points, the higher your standing. Suppose multiple characters end up with the same amount of points. In that case, you'll be essentially put into a raffle (entirely randomized), which will determine the order of placement, and it should be noted that this doesn't necessarily mean you placed first, second, third, etc. This means that you had a notable IC placement that could be in one of these spots.
We know some of you may not like this idea and would prefer a knockout-style tournament, but we wanted to be as inclusive as possible! Whether you're an older member or completely new, the idea behind this system is to ensure everyone feels like their characters are making an impact and get rewarded by completing threads.
Speaking of rewards, with this format change for Seasonal Events, we're also increasing the total rewards so that each character, when completing the first three prompts of their choice listed below, will earn 100 tokens for each completion! This means you'll get a total of 300 Tokens per character!
Due to the Sports Festival being a Main Site Event alongside the changes to SE rewards [which you can read about here!], for any additional prompt, you'll get an option for either the standard 5000/7500 EXP OR 25 tokens! [In both cases, these completed threads count for the cap, 15000 total EXP per month, and 750 total Tokens per season.] You can only claim this reward for each prompt once for tokens. Remember that there are no limits to how many characters can earn these rewards, so go crazy!
