✧ THE BREEZE ✧
Meguro, 6:00 PM, Monday.
Armageddon descended on Meguro in the blink of an eye.
Forming out of seemingly nowhere, a terrifying storm swallowed up the small Meguro ward, trapping all of those within it in a living hellscape. There was no warning when the wind speeds suddenly picked up, in the blink of an eye bicycles and people were being thrown about with reckless abandon. Windows and doors were ripped off their hinges and even some cars were picked up by the winds like they were mere toys. Up above, those who had now become trapped in the ward saw thick, dark clouds gobble up the Sun and any hope of escaping. The clouds all gathered near the center of Meguro, encircling the people below like vultures, forming a massive spiral that threatened to mesmerize those who dared look for too long.
The Storm had appeared with an explosive amount of energy, but as the clouds spun into place, so too, did some of the winds begin to settle. To those who were astute, they would start to notice that the winds were weaker the further they got from the center. Constant, but weaker. Conversely, the closer they were to the center, the harsher the winds grew. Hanging just under the spiralling clouds at the center of Meguro was the source of it all. Flying high above the ground.
Ken Yoshida, The Storm.
Ken had been shunned by society as a loser for his weak powers, exploited by his former boss and overworked to near death at their firm. Now, said firm had been pulverized. The building crushed under the overwhelming power of The Storm in the first seconds of its appearance. Ken had gone through the Elementalist’s twisted experiments entirely of his own accord. With the hopes that he could grant him the powers he needed to punish society. To kill all of those who had failed him.
Veins were bulging and popping out of his arms and head, the power felt unstable, yet so incredibly intoxicating that he couldn’t help but let out an exhilarated cackle.
‘‘THIS IS IT! THE POWER I NEED TO KILL THOSE WHO ARE UNWORTHY!!’’
—---------------------------------------------------------------------------
As enterprising young heroes, justice seeking vigilantes, and villains whose goals align with those on the right side of the law for the first time begin to converge to deal with the threat, there still lies the problem of the great gusts of wind as the Storm begins to make landfall. Shingles are torn from rooftops, glass shatters from sheer pressure differentials, vehicles and road signs are torn from the streets and sent high up into the air before crashing back down. Anyone caught in this weather is subject to various different hazards.
The Storm might rage on, but will the unsung heroes manage to save those caught in the fury?
