''I suppose that's true. I guess it would be more accurate to say I couldn't see myself in that line of work.'' She smiled apologetically, even if she did pick up on the fact that it was a joke, maybe she had been a bit too harsh on office workers when they didn't really deserve it.
''Right. Like fraternal twins?'' By sheer coincidence, Freja knew a lot about having a twin and well, being a twin. ''Twins can sometimes look similar or a little different, but I don't think they're that identical either. I-I have a twin actually, and we're both very different people. She-he-'' She quickly corrected herself, hoping Pallas wouldn't notice. ''He was always really athletic and wanted to do professional sports, but I always had my sights set on heroism, on helping others and all that. Sports is just a means to an end for me. It's training to become a better hero.'' She wasn't even entirely sure if her answer was appropriate, or if he had wanted to know in the first place. ''B-But well, that's just my own lived experiences.'' She shrugged, smiling.
''O-Oh thank you!'' She chuckled nervously, feeling a little more self-aware about her language level for some reason. ''Danish is my first language.'' She held up one finger, then another, ''Danish, then English, then I studied Japanese so I could go to UAU.'' Listening to Pallas's story suddenly made her feel better about her weird relationship with her own family. ''Woah, that sounds like a lot of pressure, but you don't seem bothered by it.'' She offered with a smile. The more they walked and talked she truly started to wonder if anything even could bother him. His positivity was seemingly never-ending. ''I see! Good hands and strong arms.'' She giggled as he patted his forearm.
''Really?'' She looked a little closer, as if she was hoping to see another electric spark on him again, but not too closely, she didn't want to be seen as a creep! ''At least you won't get addicted to smartphones then.'' She couldn't help but chuckle along at his joke. ''You have a pretty good mindset. How do you do it?'' She didn't want to pry too much, but she was also genuinely curious. She couldn't remember the last time she had met another hero student with this kind of attitude, especially not a first year like the both of them.
''Right? Makes you wonder why some people get into this school, put in all the hours to train their quirks and their bodies, just to look down on others, bully them or talk behind their backs. We all want the same thing at the end of the day, so we should all try to get along.'' This was clearly something deeply personal to her, especially since she had already fought a lot of ridicule and harassment getting into the hero course as a quirkless. A lot of students couldn't fathom that someone could have talents that weren't just whatever power they were born with. ''Really?? You'd do that? You're a lifesaver!'' The stars of excitement were practically twinkling in her eyes. She was truly blessed that she almost got run over by him today. Otherwise, who knows when or how they would have otherwise met? Freja felt the small rumble from his excited steps, and while she was a little on edge, she was actually shocked how quickly she grew accustomed to it. ''In a different-'' She was about to inquire further about it, but then her mind snapped back to the tour.
''Oh! This is a useful place if you're like me and you struggle with the written stuff.'' She stepped aside and held her arms out in a presenter style way as they arrived at the entrance to- ''The library! It's got pretty much everything we could need when it comes to hero books or books on laws and history. Futaba-sensei runs this place and she's really nice too, she's always happy to help.''
PALLAS!
