Atlas is often times said to be an ‘oddly handsome kid’ with a round head and a well defined jaw line. He is an eccentric creature from afar with long full eyelashes surrounding his almost amber visage and powerful arches of raven hair above his deep, penetrating gaze. A petite nose fills the center of his face and full pink lips are sculpted perfectly above his chiseled chin. Strands of fuchsia are woven into his round head, most times appearing like dancing pink fire than actual hair. While he sports a 5'10", 190lbs build, he is not lacking in masculine development; boasting a set of defined abdominal muscles and well defined legs. A man both healthy and in his prime, an amused smile will often creep onto his face when faced with a challenge. Atlas also has a plethora of solid steel piercings in his body, his nipples, his lobes, two in his upper left ear, and five in his right ear. Atlas' main choice of wardrobe generally consists of lots of black, leather, usually graphic t-shirts or sweaters, jeans, shorts, sneakers or boots. His style being mostly carefree with only a hint grunge and punk inspired; now that he lives away from home he can express himself through fashion. His first super suit comes in two varieties. The first is black body suit that covers from his neck down to his ankles and wrists with a pair of yellow gloves and boots. This suit has a yellow glowing fire bird brandished on the center of the torso with the wings coming up to his his clavicle and shoulders. A yellow bold stripe above the hip similar to a belt. This is crafted from flame retardant material and a Kevlar- Dyneema weaved fabric of his own suggested design. The second variety consist of a black body suit with padding over the knees and torso. This suit has a more abstract visage of a fire bird on the front with red vertically stripped sleeve designs that trail down the side of the torso. Black boots and a yellow and black stripped belt to finish the look. This one is also crafted from flame retardant material and a Kevlar-Dyeeema weaved material fabric of his own suggested design. [attr="class","body"] [attr="class","header2"]HISTORY Being born into a wealthy family isn't all that it's cracked up to be, take it from Atlas... he would know best. His parents both had luxurious careers and came from a prestigious line of heroes who were world renowned and feared in their day for their immense power. So of course he would have to live up to their reputation, and what luck he had by being born and bursting into flame. That fire taking on the shape of a bird that would cradle it's wings around him. Raised to excel in his studies, Atlas' parents saw their son was 'destined' be a hero and a prominent member of society in other ways. He showed interest in science, in business and even medicine but he had to pick one that he could truly stand out in. It wasn't a fair process he would tell you, and so he chose science given the different branches he could pursue, and his parents did everything to make sure he was top notch in his studies. Private tutors, a school devoted to science, and even hero based after school activities but Atlas was miserable the whole time. He loved his craft but he didn't love being forced to constantly be in the presence of something devoted to his future, but he knew he couldn't rebel. His parents gave him everything he wanted, a nice home, a substantial allowance and a seemingly 'loving' environment but that wasn't the case at all. Several times he'd become so overwhelmed that anyone around him was walking away with 2nd degree burns and charred clothes and hair. Friends of his who after being lit ablaze after a spat mysteriously never coming by again, girl or boys who aroused him and ended up burned, it seemed he couldn't win. Things only got worse when he was 15. Atlas overheard his parents one day discussing that they felt they needed a child to take on their legacy and didn't see him as 'capable of doing it' and it broke his heart. Everything he had done to make them proud was washed away because he wasn't good enough else and so he became withdrawn from them, more so than usual. Every conversation was but a few simple words, his grades improved but he didn't seem to care as much... What was the point if he couldn't make them happy? Maybe it was a miracle or maybe it was a long time coming, but when Atlas turned 17 he and his parents had gotten into a heated debate. He told them that he had heard what they said years ago and that he was fed up with trying to make them happy. He had no interest in being their son anymore and his parents weren't having it. Voices got loud, tensions were high and at the peak of the argument his body had lit ablaze with white fire much to his guardians shock. Maybe it was the anger that finally boiled over or the tension, but his father used his quirk to teleport the body high into the sky where he erupted into a mass of white fire. Hotter than anything they'd seen before. He began to train himself, in hopes of learning to control his power and become a hero like his ancestors and relatives, much to his parents pleasure. Though his reasoning wasn't the same as his parents. They wanted him to be a hero because of his family and 'blood line' but he wanted to be a hero because of his own desire to prove that he would be better than his kin. He would become famous enough to disown them in front of the whole world; It was spiteful, yes, but it would be so worth it in the end. So Atlas worked harder than he had all these years, he developed his skills and gained an impressive handling of his aspect just in time for HHU. Having taken on the moniker Pyre-Bird, gotten two specially designed suits and masks, and deciding to move out much to the chagrin of his parents. Hell, he'd taken the millions of dollars from his allowance over the years (His family is THAT rich) and became a chemistry student, residing in a cheap apartment near his school. Over the years he has tried to keep knowledge of his wealthy background a secret as to keep his friend circle from falling apart. Believing money can corrupt weak people. Now with his sights set on his end goals, Atlas is ready to work his hardest to attain the spot at the top of the caped crusader food chain. With both a Hero studies major and chemistry minor to attend to first. His tuft of flaming pink hair naturally floating in a manner to create the shape of a birds head, with glowing eyes matching the hue of his cloak, hence the name "pyre-bird". It's much more imposing and flashy than is his preferred taste. . . Emitter This quirk grants Atlas the manipulation, and versatile utilization of fire to the point of controlling large amounts of the element, with pinpoint levels of finesse, be it of their own creation or otherwise. With unrelenting amounts of practice with his father, his mastery of these immolating flames is rather impressive given his age and lead to a shining recommendation from his parents peers. Often times Atlas will utilize techniques that will minimize collateral damage showing his refined control of his quirk, as releasing torrents of flame from his hands, eyes, mouth or entire body in omnidirectional blasts are simple feats but leave far too much up to chance for his liking. His approach involves utilizing these flames in an eccentric manner, learning to mold flaming constructs by condensing the fire into a more solid form, creating simple impromptu weapons when simple tricks like fireball, bombs, and the like don't work. Often grasping fire from his wings to create daggers for increase his accuracy, dubbed his "phoenix feathers" when utilizing special moves. Though he is capable of creating flaming whips to lash out and bind opponents or even send out shaped projectiles for added brutality (i.e. firing off a talon shaped projectile to knock an enemy through a wall). Aside from its offensive usage, Atlas has indeed developed more tactical and sometimes 'defensive' measures with his quirk. The first being fire negation and absorption when faced with a blaze from an outside source (such as a house fire or offensive fire based quirk) as he can take control of the flames and infuse them into his own cloak, subsequently using his own power to 'neutralize them'; reducing their size in an instant. Mutant: You think a baby that glows is cool, imagine one that's on fire! Seriously, Atlas' natural aura of fire is often a spectacle others find fascinating much to his own chagrin; not that he's complaining about the free press. Though really he tends to hide that fact that the heat of these flames is most easily influenced by his emotional state, when calm they are harmless to even standard humans and when in a full on rage? Well... they naturally can become a hazard to those around him, lets say that. The flames he produces can become much more intense than regular fire in comparison to a flame of equal proportion due to being powered by his emotion. Rage being the pinnacle of destruction having reached a whopping temperature of 6000 degrees Fahrenheit. A feat which causes his fire to glow white hot as this 1000 degrees hotter than the temperature on the surface of the sun, making it dangerous and thankfully only achieved by extreme rage. However it isn't a problem for him personally as he is immune to fire and heat thanks to his mothers quirk "fireproof". Probably the most useful aspect of his quirk comes in his ability to control his cloaks temperatures, ranging from reducing it in a moment of emotional upheaval, to heating up beyond the melting point of steel (2500°F); but he cannot maintain said levels for more than a few minutes at a time without risking fatigue. However if faced with an opponent who could take it, this would allow Atlas to strike someone with tremendous heat. Fire under his control can casually burn at around 2900 degrees Fahrenheit due to their yellowish orange color signifying their intense heat, but he can control the temperature to a fine point in order to avoid seriously injuring allies and enemies alike. Using fire simply to warm someone on contact or to the heat of around 4000 degrees; maintaining the latter feat for only a few minutes at a time before risking fatigue. The last, and likely his favorite, use of this cloak is the ability to fly. Whether it be in non moving suspension, or rocketing across the skies, he can pull it off for as long as his stamina can carry him. Though simple feats such as hovering or floating around casually are mere child's play to him, his speed is dependent on the flame propelling him from any point on his body; capable of reaching speeds equal to his quirks rank. Flying in a similar method to a rocket, leaving a stream of blazing fire in his contrail. QUIRK DRAWBACKS: Though with great power comes great weakness, and the first few of Atlas' are rather obvious. Firstly we have the signature enemy of fire... water. Whether it be submerging in it, or going against someone who uses a water quirk, its never a good time for the young hero. The second weakness being oxygen and the fact that his fire makes the air thin in a 10 foot radius around him. Something that can become a problem in an airtight or small room: especially if his claustrophobia kicks in. He also has some trauma due to how difficult it was for him to control his power at first and how many people he's unintentionally hurt. As a result, he both loves his power and fears it. Aside from this his quirk works similarly to any other as even manipulating an element is like working a muscle and overuse of his power will drain his stamina gradually. Meaning at first he can pull off several big attacks but over time he won't be able to muster as much strength, which can hinder him in battles of attrition. Smothering materials can also put out his fire such as sand, fire fighting foam or any substance designed to be resistant to flames, as well as the fact that his fire's strength is dependent on his physical health and emotion. Meaning sickness or depression can cause his flames to be much weaker than when he is healthy and in confident spirits. Atlas' flaming cloaks size can also be a problem if an ally or civilian gets too close when he's not controlling the heat, as it's wing span is 12 feet when combined; 6 feet on either side of him. Atlas' area of influence is any fire in his line of sight and the only thing limiting him is the amount over distance, as controlling a forest fire up-close is much easier than trying to do so from looking over the horizon (Something which he would find impossible). He also has to use his hands to control the fire to a fine degree whether its by physically touching the fire or using exaggerated motions to get the job done, its a crutch he's yet to get over. Lastly, Atlas cannot maintain his 6000 degree enraged fire for more than likely a minute before passing out from over exertion making it most useful for either supernova based attack, or an incredibly bolstered projectile. Meaning that if someone were to get a nose bleed, and accidentally drip some onto her, she would automatically transform into her full dragon form; there is no way for her to consciously stop it from happening. While in this form, Amen’ra’s STRENGTH is proportionately increased to match her new size; capable of lifting and throwing a semi truck about the distance of a city block. This also increases her DURABILITY because of the strength of her scales, making her capable of taking hits from low caliber fire arms, extreme blunt force, and an immunity to fire and heat. The wings that Amen’ra has in this form are fully functional, as she is able to achieve FLIGHT at speeds of roughly 70 mph for a few minutes before gliding on air currents at about 55mph. This is due to the strength of her wing muscles as well as the size, with a wingspan of about 70 feet from tip to tip, and incredibly light but resilient bones. Her wings, when retracted, are flexible enough to bend and stick close to her side. With the top thumb of her wings latching onto her shoulders, allowing the wing membrane to cover her like a black dress; giving her the look of a giant black panther when in movement. The last of the traits she gains is her razor sharp CLAWS, TEETH, and PREHENSILE TAIL. While her teeth themselves are capable of cutting through concrete like butter, her claws are far more durable; able to slice through iron with the same ease. Now her tail is similar to a third arm, but is only able to wrap around, whip, and penetrate things; with enough strength to throw a car half a city block. The second aspect of this power is a much smaller, and weaker WERE-DRAGON FORM which will cause her pale, creamy skin to become obsidian black, and scaly. Her body will grow to about 6 feet 7 inches in height, and she will gain her tail, claws, teeth, and smaller wings giving her the appearance of a humanoid dragon. While this allows her to fly, gives her about 3 tons of strength, and durability against small fire arms, it is vastly weaker than her true dragon form. Meaning she can only lift 3 tons, she can fly at 45 mph (gliding at 25), she can claw through concrete and bite through glass and stones, and her tail can only lift 1 and a half tons. This does, however, make her a great climber and capable of blending in with the darkness with the exception of her glowing red eyes. The only difference being that she can activate this were dragon form without blood, but it doesn’t last as long. QUIRK DRAWBACKS:Now with all this power, Amen’ra does have her fair share of weaknesses to balance her out; the first being the fact that even a drop of BLOOD on her skin makes her transform. Now this is restricted to blood that isn’t her own, as it would be rather difficult being a woman and not being able to get your own blood on your skin without turning into a monster. Blood is a disgusting thing, and if she has an open wound and blood gets into it, she could possibly get a disease or illness from exposure. This also means that if she is FORCED to transform inside of a building, she has to try to reduce the space she’s taking up as much as possible to not injure herself from the sudden expansion; which tends to take about a minute and a half to complete. So she’ll either have to curl into a ball or run outside as fast as possible. Another downside to such a power is that her CLOTHING is always ripped to hell, leaving her nude when she’s done being a dragon. Speaking of when she’s done, her transformation can last for approximately an HOUR before she is snapped back into human form with a transformation taking the same time as the initial change. The MINIMUM however is 5 minutes for her to be able to will herself back into human form. Another factor is the strength of her scales, which can take firearm damage but cannot do so repeatedly as her scales will shatter after about THREE SHOTS in the same general area and ONE SHOT from a high caliber round. These scales can also become brittle and crumble if she is exposed to COLD temperatures due to her reptilian nature; meaning ice manipulation and winter are her enemies. Amen’ra is capable of flight with her wings, but should they be BROKEN while in her dragon form, she will have to wait for them to heal similar to a broken bone. While in her dragon form she doesn’t have any form of regenerative HEALING so this will take the standard time that it would take for a human with a broken arm or any other bone. Her increased SIZE also makes her more susceptible to injury and attack, as she often times becomes the largest thing on the battle field. Speaking of her increased size, her weight and mass are stored in a pocket dimension of unknown origin which is why she can transform without serious injury to either form, but this mass is proportionate to her human mass. Meaning her form is more muscular if she is in human form, or will be obese if she becomes so as well. This is also true for her health, as she will be substantially weaker when she is sick in human and dragon form. Amen'ra's claws have a direct relation in their DURABILITY to her human nails. Meaning if she doesn’t have strong nails in human form, her claws will be less durable; so landing the wrong way or slicing through something to harshly can break one of her claws off similar to a human nail. Which is rather painful. Her WERE-DRAGON FORM is also far weaker than its full variation, but she can activate it without contact with blood. This form does only last for 30 minutes at most however, and has a minimum of 1 and a half minutes before she can revert to human form once more. This form can also become susceptible to cold much quicker, and is still a rather large target. Her SPEED in both forms is similar to that of a black panther, which is due to the strength is in her legs which is an application of her strength. The last down side is that she has to wait 5 minutes in between her transformation back to a human to turn into a were dragon once more, her transformation from a full dragon is extremely tiring however and she is often too weak to do much after. Meaning she can either fall unconscious after transforming and could only be awakened by the shock of blood onto her skin(which would simply repeat the process), or waiting until she's gotten enough rest (5 hours) to be at full operating potential. She's also vulnerable to gaseous attacks and mental attacks in all of her forms, though the feral instincts of her dragon form can cause her to be controlled a bit easier.
