[attr="class","likedotitle2"]Fight for Justice: Reboot
[attr="class","likedoinfo"]On behalf of the entire staff team, allow me to welcome you to the grand opening of Fight For Justice's reboot. We'd also like to take a moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude for being patient and supportive over the years.
When it came to our decision to reboot the site with an entirely new system and plot, we did not take it lightly. The staff team was under a lot of stress both IRL and on the site as our diminishing team was struggling to keep up with all of the work associated with maintaining it.
When the team began brainstorming solutions, it became very apparent that much of the core system was too problematic to work with. We couldn't strip away certain areas of frustration on the staff end without having to completely redo other core parts of the system. Likewise, any grand revisions of existing systems would require us to adjust everything related to that system. In essence, we had built up a large amount of tech debt over the year to the point where we had to acknowledge that we could not move forward with the current system.
Since we were reflecting on changing the entire system, we also took a step back to reflect on the other shortcomings of the sight. Ultimately, we had to acknowledge that we couldn't sustain FFJ catering to every faction and U.A. We also had to acknowledge other harsh truths like the lack of a cohesive storyline that we had for the entire site.
After thinking about all of these things, we elected to simply reboot to realize a more sustainable vision for the FFJ Staff Team. We'd like to believe that we addressed many community concerns with this transition all while trying not to compromise the health of the staff team moving forward. Of course, like with all compromises, something had to give, and we apologize to everyone for wiping the slate clean.
As we begin our new journey on our new site, we'd like to be upfront about our initial plans:
1. We intend to closely monitor the early months of the site to see just how successful we were at achieving our goals. Did we successfully lower the staff workload? Did we succeed at streamlining many user processes? Are players happy with the amount of staff-provided content?
2. While the staff's focus is most certainly not going to be on the non-U.A. factions, we are going to look into additional support systems for non-U.A. characters. This is a direct response to some of the feedback data we received during the survey period.
3. We intend to take the first couple of weeks to ease into the site and assist the community with transitioning over. After those first couple of weeks is when we're going to start doing content drops for our players to engage with.
4. Like with the site, we'll be completely remodeling the Discord Server as well.
5. We'll be adding new staff members to the site after everything has settled down. We want to take the time to assess the current workload and evaluate what our internal responsibilities are going to look like moving forward. We didn't want to put unnecessary stress and pressure on new staff members by bringing them on right as we were about to get a massive load of work.
6. We only ported over two site skins: a Dark Theme and a Light Theme. We have absolutely no intention of creating new skins that are different in terms of structure. Rather, if any new skins do get added, they will simply be recolors of the existing ones that we have.
7. Beginner's Handbook and FAQ will return at a later time.
8. All characters on the old FFJ site have Faceclaim and Quirk Protection for the first two weeks of the site's opening. That is, nobody can take your Quirk or Faceclaim so long as it is on the list unless you specifically give permission to another player to do so.
