Though there is truth found in the appearance of oneself and the impact one's demeanor can have on their surrounding persons, the notion seems to be one founded on the peace of one's surroundings and not themselves — but it's not! It's about the positive effects of how a smile lifts one's own mood! Isn't that such an odd way to phrase the idea? In a way that seems to describe your place in terms of others? [break][break] Claudio thrives not on echoes of his joy in others, but instead upon the direct source; himself! The Brazilian stands as one to always have a laugh, strike a silly pose, or act to others as might need in a tense moment. He doesn't appear as one who takes himself as seriously as death, nor does he pretend he needs to be anything he isn't — no, his greatest joy is unabashedly displaying himself as he desires to be! [break][break] As such, Claudio demonstrates himself visually as one not caring for excessive class or proper manners; the clothes he typically sports are often as casual as he ever so desires, almost exclusively dressing however he finds most comfortable or personally compelling — often in boisterous colors, designs, and otherwise have fun with his looks. Additionally, he also wears a straw hat by its string, with the hat resting just at his shoulders on his back. He would wear it on his head, but it's a bit inconvenient given his situation up there. [break][break] Though, physically speaking, his figure is quite the oddity. His face is what one might expect from such a person — a wide, toothy grin of pearly whites, large eyes full of cheer, etc. — but the rest of his body is rather the contrast. As opposed to his rounder face and its generally circular features, the rest of his body is a mass of toned muscle and scars from god knows how many places, often boldly displayed — muscles and scars alike, as though they're no different to him — just as pridefully as he sees his smile. If you asked him which scar he disliked the most, he'd probably direct you to the one beneath his left eye; though, if you asked him which one was his favorite — assuming you chose to propose such an odd question — he'd probably point to the large X on his chest, a scar he demonstrates regularly, even going so far as to not wear shirts because of how much it means to him. He always changes the story of how he got it, though. [break][break] When dressed as a hero, Claudio adorns himself in perhaps the most casual of outfits he can imagine, one just slightly modified to match his level of strangeness: a thin cardigan that frills and ends at the elbows, a part of shorts with fur at their openings at his knees — both articles being entirely white — a purple sash, and a pair of straw sandals tied around his feet. And, as one would expect, he leaves his cardigan open unless otherwise told not to. [break][break] One final thing to note is his hair — both the hair atop his head and his eyebrows. As a result of his quirk, his locks are naturally in a mixed state between a normal human's hair and a cloud, meaning that it literally flows atop his head towards the sky. His eyebrows, which round as they reach towards the bridge of his nose, are also affected, though they're less prominent. [break][break] [break][break] [attr="class","explorerheader"]▸ PERSONALITY ◂ [break] [attr="class","explorerbox"] Inspiring the free-spirited nature of his appearance, Claudio is a true free spirit — a person who, though the world is one of rules and inhibitions, tries to live by the means he so desires, regardless of how he's treated for his inclinations. Though he considers himself an otherwise benign presence — it's not like he wants to be a bad person, after all — he doesn't think of himself as a sort of role model by typical standards. [break][break] Or, at the very least, he doesn't see someone such as himself as heroic by the standards of his classmates. He doesn't have the same type of fire burning inside of him as his colleagues, nor is he being forced to inherit this role by another — rather, he chooses to be a hero because it meets his own ends; it grants him the ultimate freedom he wants, one that falls only just short of absolute autonomy, yet still bears enough to be worthwhile. But even more so than that freedom, becoming a student at the most prestigious hero school in Japan — arguably the most prestigious hero school in the whole world — provides him an opportunity he wouldn't find anywhere outside of UA. Or, at the very least, UA is where he believes he'll find the pinnacle of his desires: [break][break] The best stories in the world. [break][break] Claudio is interested in, as he calls it, "the most interesting stories." He wants to find the most exciting people — the ones who've seen the world on the same scale as himself — and have elected to follow a path sure to be remembered. Whether these others consider their trajectory to be intriguing or not is of no importance to the Brazilian. No, even if his fellow classmates are convinced of their own inconsequentiality, he'll shout to the skies themselves that he disagrees. [break][break] Even more so than just UA itself, Claudio wants to see what a world like Japan can yield to him. He wants to know how it holds up to this notion he holds so closely. Even if it meant traveling halfway across the globe, even if it meant derailing everything he'd ever known, and even if he finds nothing but disappointment, he will pursue that image just as fervently as he would anything else. [break][break] This isn't to call the Brazilian superficial in his attempts at heroism; if anything, he takes his duties just as seriously as his more passionate peers, seeing these responsibilities as necessary to pursue the current vision he holds. Does he necessarily care about the material itself? Not particularly. As far as he regards it, he could replace his obligations with any other unpleasant charges and change nothing — hell, he might even find them more personally agreeable than UA's philosophies. But, if it provides for him the means to do as he's currently inclined, then he will hold to it as readily as he does his fascination. The result? A quirk that grants the user free rein over a body made of clouds. [break][break] ▸Cloud Shape[break] Playful Cloud is a deceptively simple quirk in nature: The user can, at will, shift their body — on a gradient scale — from the solid state of a normal human to that of a cloud, going from a solid to a gas. In effect, the quirk allows the user to separate the particles that make them up and unpack them from one another, lowering the density of their body and shifting states of matter as a result — though, it should be noted that the state of becoming a cloud is entirely literal; the clouds are made of what actual clouds are composed of. The user does not become some strange flesh cloud. [break][break] Though, in that space between either extreme — fully solid or fully gas (technically not fully a gas, but effectively works as intangible by most means) — the user can also shift their body into that gray area in-between, making their particles part-cloud part-flesh, with the results depending on where in the gradient he wills himself. As an example, the user might be predominantly flesh, but with their spread-out particles, it would effectively allow them to stretch their body a greater distance than normal for a regular person. One could almost say that the middle of the gradient is like a liquid with a gum-like texture. [break][break] Furthermore, the more like a cloud the user makes their body, the more control they have over the movement of individual particles; i.e., being able to position their lighter-than-air particles however they want, as though their particles themselves have the strength necessary to move themselves. Additionally, when fully cloud-shaped, their cloud body is capable of splitting off of each other — like how clouds part when something passes through — preventing the user from dying just because someone moved through their intangible form. [break][break] (Note: The user does not lose their senses or bodily functions when they transform their body.) [break][break] QUIRK DRAWBACKS/LIMITATIONS: [break][break] ▸Caustion: Restricted Airspace![break] When one's entire body has entered cloud shape, the user of this quirk can fill up a 1000 cubic meter space (i.e., a 10x10x10 meter cube), with every other combination of particle makeup being smaller than that. This is the current maximum its user can achieve because it is the furthest amount of dispersed particles they can presently attain. [break][break] ▸Out of Bounds![break] When parts of the user's cloud body are disconnected from one another, they have a 10-meter range from which they can be away from the main body. In the case that the user's full form is dispersed in multiple different directions outside of their limit — say, an explosion placed in the center of the cloud form — their body will naturally reconstruct itself in its previous position (or whatever is most convenient for the clouds to reconvene). [break][break] ▸He's Just A Boy![break] The actual movement of cloud particles — the dexterity, speed, etc. — are dependent upon the user's attributes. Thus, progressing this quirk does not suddenly make their cloud form faster than they could normally move, nor do they gain more accuracy with their cloud form — it's just more convenient and offers more options. [break][break] ▸I Know You Are But What Am I?[break] Though Claudio can become intangible at the "cloud" end of the spectrum, this naturally works both ways; i.e., becoming untouchable means becoming unable to touch. As a result, a more gas-like body will be unable to harm a target, not without having at least the contact point be solid. Though, both the user and someone that comes into contact with said clouds will still likely "feel" it, like how one might feel vapor upon their skin. [break][break] ▸Please Don't Put Me In The Vacuum Again Please God—[break] Due to the nature of clouds and the properties granted by the extreme end of the spectrum, the user of Playful Cloud is particularly weak to abilities that can manipulate the winds or otherwise move non-solid objects. In such instances, the user of this quirk would need to try to resist with their existing Attributes. [break][break] ▸Get A-Head! Get it?[break] In the instance that two ends of the user's body, which are both solid and are connected by a cloud form — as an example, imagine a solid shoulder and a solid hand connected by a cloud arm — and then the two clouds joining them disconnects, that does not mean the user can have a solid part of their body go off on its own. Rather, the smaller segment — the hand in this case, since the shoulder directly connects to the rest of the body — would also take on cloud shape. Put simply, all particles of a disconnected body part must be entirely cloud and will attempt to become that state regardless of the user's input. Though there is truth found in the appearance of oneself and the impact one's demeanor can have on their surrounding persons, the notion seems to be one founded on the peace of one's surroundings and not themselves — but it's not! It's about the positive effects of how a smile lifts one's own mood! Isn't that such an odd way to phrase the idea? In a way that seems to describe your place in terms of others?

Claudio thrives not on echoes of his joy in others, but instead upon the direct source; himself! The Brazilian stands as one to always have a laugh, strike a silly pose, or act to others as might need in a tense moment. He doesn't appear as one who takes himself as seriously as death, nor does he pretend he needs to be anything he isn't — no, his greatest joy is unabashedly displaying himself as he desires to be!

As such, Claudio demonstrates himself visually as one not caring for excessive class or proper manners; the clothes he typically sports are often as casual as he ever so desires, almost exclusively dressing however he finds most comfortable or personally compelling — often in boisterous colors, designs, and otherwise have fun with his looks. Additionally, he also wears a straw hat by its string, with the hat resting just at his shoulders on his back. He would wear it on his head, but it's a bit inconvenient given his situation up there.

Though, physically speaking, his figure is quite the oddity. His face is what one might expect from such a person — a wide, toothy grin of pearly whites, large eyes full of cheer, etc. — but the rest of his body is rather the contrast. As opposed to his rounder face and its generally circular features, the rest of his body is a mass of toned muscle and scars from god knows how many places, often boldly displayed — muscles and scars alike, as though they're no different to him — just as pridefully as he sees his smile. If you asked him which scar he disliked the most, he'd probably direct you to the one beneath his left eye; though, if you asked him which one was his favorite — assuming you chose to propose such an odd question — he'd probably point to the large X on his chest, a scar he demonstrates regularly, even going so far as to not wear shirts because of how much it means to him. He always changes the story of how he got it, though.

When dressed as a hero, Claudio adorns himself in perhaps the most casual of outfits he can imagine, one just slightly modified to match his level of strangeness: a thin cardigan that frills and ends at the elbows, a part of shorts with fur at their openings at his knees — both articles being entirely white — a purple sash, and a pair of straw sandals tied around his feet. And, as one would expect, he leaves his cardigan open unless otherwise told not to.

One final thing to note is his hair — both the hair atop his head and his eyebrows. As a result of his quirk, his locks are naturally in a mixed state between a normal human's hair and a cloud, meaning that it [i]literally[/i] flows atop his head towards the sky. His eyebrows, which round as they reach towards the bridge of his nose, are also affected, though they're less prominent.

Inspiring the free-spirited nature of his appearance, Claudio is a true free spirit — a person who, though the world is one of rules and inhibitions, tries to live by the means he so desires, regardless of how he's treated for his inclinations. Though he considers himself an otherwise benign presence — it's not like he [i]wants[/i] to be a bad person, after all — he doesn't think of himself as a sort of role model by typical standards.

Or, at the very least, he doesn't see someone such as himself as heroic by the standards of his classmates. He doesn't have the same type of fire burning inside of him as his colleagues, nor is he being forced to inherit this role by another — rather, he chooses to be a hero because it meets his own ends; it grants him the ultimate freedom he wants, one that falls only just short of absolute autonomy, yet still bears enough to be worthwhile. But even more so than that freedom, becoming a student at the most prestigious hero school in Japan — arguably the most prestigious hero school in the whole world — provides him an opportunity he wouldn't find anywhere outside of UA. Or, at the very least, UA is where he believes he'll find the pinnacle of his desires:

He wants to find the most exciting people — the ones who've seen the world on the same scale as himself — and have elected to follow a path sure to be remembered. Whether these others consider their trajectory to be intriguing or not is of no importance to the Brazilian. No, even if his fellow classmates are convinced of their own inconsequentiality, he'll shout to the skies themselves that he disagrees.

Even more so than just UA itself, Claudio wants to see what a world like Japan can yield to him. He wants to know how it holds up to this notion he holds so closely. Even if it meant traveling halfway across the globe, even if it meant derailing everything he'd ever known, and even if he finds nothing but disappointment, he will pursue that image just as fervently as he would anything else.

Though, in that space between either extreme — fully solid or fully gas (technically not fully a gas, but effectively works as intangible by most means) — the user can also shift their body into that gray area in-between, making their particles part-cloud part-flesh, with the results depending on where in the gradient he wills himself. As an example, the user might be predominantly flesh, but with their spread-out particles, it would effectively allow them to stretch their body a greater distance than normal for a regular person. One could almost say that the middle of the gradient is like a liquid with a gum-like texture.

Furthermore, the more like a cloud the user makes their body, the more control they have over the movement of individual particles; i.e., being able to position their lighter-than-air particles however they want, as though their particles themselves have the strength necessary to move themselves.
