A part of him didn't want to use an old rag, but that was the one percent part of him that had that penchant to be all nice and fancy. The other ninety-nine percent didn't care, so he'd wipe his hands dry and work the next steps out in his head. It was a process he had performed many times over, but it was also something that needed to be accounted for precisely. He didn't think much on taking her on an adventure, mostly because his job these days was bland and he wouldn't accidentally uncover another kidnapping ring. Small investigative stuff, that was what he could take her on. The question wasn't much to balk on, and he'd shrug. "For the most part. If I had gone shooting that day I'll clean that particular gun, sometimes I read, sometimes partake in some of those vices I mentioned." He'd think on that for a moment. "Sometimes. Some of them require a partner, and I don't like leaving the casings alone for too long. More than an hour the water gets too cold, doesn't feel as good fishing them out."Tabitha Yamamura

There would be an almost small pause between her offering the rag and Mark actually taking it. The moment of hesitation would go ultimately unnoticed by Tabitha, who would continue to sit attentively, the pages of her notebook still open and her pencil again at the ready as she waited for any information she believed to be worth jotting down. After drying his hands and setting the rag off to the side, he would begin by giving a bit of routine, which would be something that he had crafted himself as a best practice habit. The preference of clean as you use was something that resonated with Tabitha, as even though her own shop was dark and dreary, she would try to clean as often as she could, or at least when she could remember, typically in one of her maniac episodes.
The final bit of his comment would come as a bit of a shock for her, as she couldn't imagine someone firing enough ammunition to require a second pair of hands to assist them in retrieving the spent casings. There was the possibility that she had simply misunderstood the response, but even if she had and the comment was made to be an innuendo, it would have most likely gone over her head. Tabitha would nod in response as she continued to scribble down notes. As she wrote, she would find herself quickly running out of topics to speak on, and the workshop would be filled with almost a strange silence in between the sound of her pencil scratching against the notebook pages.

Mark leaned over to look at her notes, a bit curious as, after reading over some of them, found that some of his snark had made it in. He couldn't help but snicker a little, shaking his head as he pointed to the last little bit as he felt the need to expound upon that. "No, that's referring to the vices. For the most part, most of the work I do can be done by one person. Anyone can do that." He leans against the workbench, tilting his head. "Do you write down a lot of notes like this? When learning new things, or taking on a case, or something along those lines?" Tabitha Yamamura

It would seem that Mark would have finally let his curiosity get the better of him, as he would lean over and watch as Tabitha scribbled her notes. Not that she was attempting to hide the notes she was taking. It served her more as a way to help remember the information, and if by chance she had forgotten something, she could always return to her notes as a way to refresh her own memory. This was something she had been doing since she was a child, and it had never let her down, so she continued to do so throughout her life. Mark’s snicker would be enough to cause her scribbles to pause as she read over the section to see if she had misspelled anything. Her check would take less than a few seconds, and her scribbles would continue on.
Her scribbles would once again stop as he would speak, correcting a misunderstanding she had scribbled down in her notes. Realizing her mistake and what the vices implied, she would frantically scribble in corrections, her face taking a light shade of pink not only from the embarrassment but also finally understanding his words meaning. He would then ask a question, causing her scribbling to stop as she would take a pause to collect herself before answering.
“Yes. It helps me keep a clear idea of what’s needed. Or information that I might not necessarily remember right away. Even the smallest details can be important at a later date.”

He couldn't help but laugh a little at her sudden realization. The lady seemed to be a little dense, which could lead to outstanding jokes in the future. Would, if he went that far. Being a professional, it was not a great idea. Then again, he had gotten under other people's skin in the past, what was one more? Collecting himself, he nodded and leaned against the bench. "Makes sense. I tend to keep my notes all up here," he says, tapping the side of his head, "but I know not everyone can do that. Only time I write something down is something I'm not confident I'll remember on down the road. Speaking of," He reaches into his pocket, pulling out an old journal and flipping several pages. "Ballistics is tricky business. Put too much powder into a round, and it could cause the gun to explode. Not enough, you create what's called a squib. Bullet doesn't build enough velocity, and gets stuck in the barrel. There's spacing measurements, crimp pressures, and the like."He gets to a page, setting it on the table and sliding it towards Tabi. "There's tables and stuff like that online, but I tend to not trust academic types. When it comes to knowing what's in a book and knowing what works, I tend to follow what works."Tabitha Yamamura

As Mark leaned against the table, Tabitha would look up to him as he gestured towards his head, a rather confident way of taking notes that she couldn't help but overthink all of the variables that could lead to forgetfulness. From stress, anger, intense joy, and all the other feelings in between, sometimes the smaller details would get left behind, or so she thought at least, but she couldn't help but admire his headstrong ideals. But he would admit to occasionally taking a few notes as he reached into his jacket pocket to fish out a notebook—not quite as thick as her own, but with his style, it was bound to be filled to the brim with extremely important but small details. As he thumbed through the pages, he spoke again of measurements and metrics when it came to creating rounds and described the faults of an overpacked round as well as an underpacked one. With his safety resting on his ammunition, Tabitha could fully understand his need for perfection.
As he set down the book to an open page, Tabitha would look up to him once more before looking down at the pages; she could help but slide her fingers across the sheets, almost as if she expected his writing to depress the pages more than normal. But on the sheets were exact measurements for the perfect round for his firearm; this would be well used as she would pause only for a moment longer, the pause being broken by her scribbling down a copy of his notes into her own book for a letter reference.
"Exact measurements. I'm sure these took quite some time to find the perfect ratio. This will help cut down on the majority of the process."

"That's good to hear. That said, I have a few techniques that can be used to help tamp down some measurements if you need it." He indicated one set of notes he had, sighing. "Something I can't use readily is my sawed-off. It'd be a nightmare to get approved, and a waste of money to just have something custom built. It's what I used to use rock salt in. Since we're adapting it for a pistol, might be best to run some tests before we go shoving rounds in." But it was the basics that would no doubt be useful for her down the road. He was sure she'd appreciate it on down the line. "Got any burning questions for me? Need a few more things before we get it underway?"Tabitha Yamamura

With her own meticulous notes taken in addition to his own being provided, Tabitha would be more than ready to continue with the process on her own, but she would even have help, a fact that would only speed up the ammunition fabrication. Mark’s worries were well noted, as she hadn’t intended on allowing him to leave with any untested rounds. She would nod in response to his comment.
“I won’t let any equipment leave my shop untested.”
Setting down her pen again before quickly flipping back through her notes Tabitha was more than well equipped to continue with the build at hand, and with so much information readily available, you could even consider her readiness as excitement. Shaking her head in response to his questions.
“No, let’s get started.”
