There is no utopia. If there were, we would have built it long ago. We would have used our rigid, immovable systems to keep it in place. And we wouldnβt have widespread discontent running rampant throughout the world.
People change. And we canβt stop changing. The fluctuation between growth and regression is a process in itself. And even if we stay within range of a presumed path, we never take the shortest distance from who we were to who we become. The minutia adds up. Collect enough small problems and see what happens. Rats sell out the big cheese and my father ends up in the mouse trap? Yeah, thatβs not gonna fly, boss.
The nameβs Ghouligan. And I'm your biggest problem.

Grunge-looking guy with a bunch of tattoos.
He's lanky with a twinge of athleticism to him. Lost a lot of gains after he went on his warpath. With the amount of damage sustained it's a surprise he's alive. But it took its toll on his body. If you had a reference to who he was before you would have seen the difference β he's weaker, slower, and can't keep up with the man he was. If he weren't so stubborn he would have taken his lumps and moved on.
But he's on a mission. An endless journey that continues beyond his death. And with that in mind, he's donned a mask that represents a justice that transcends the afterlife. A skull with red accents. With their dying breaths, the men who killed his father gave him a name.

My father was a gambler.
But no matter how much debt he incurred we always had a roof over our heads and food on our plates. I was his number one priority through and through. His heart belonged to the casino and heβd stay there as long as he could chase the big win. But heβd always be home in time for breakfast.
Until he wasnβt.
We spoke primarily through sticky notes. If he had to run out he would have left one on the fridge β something was wrong. Before I could process what happened the phone rang. I learned that some debts were paid in blood.
I called the cops. Told them what happened. They promised theyβd get to the bottom of this. So, when the boss walked off I learned the system wasnβt about justice, it was about appearances. A near approximation of justice in every facet except where it mattered; results.
I killed them. I freed my father of the debt he had been burdened with. I freed myself from inheriting that same debt. And I got my first glimpse into the new world.
We didnβt have a funeral. Iβm the only one who would miss himβ¦ or so I thought. When digging through his trash I stumbled upon the fact I had a brother. A twin brother. We were separated by our parents. Pops always said things never worked out between my mom and him but it never seemed this bad.
They may have never met but Emilio deserves to know his father passed. And that he has a brother thatβll do anything for him. I bought a ticket to Japan.

Science Friction
Transformation - A+
When Antoine pulls the four-link chain extending from his abdomen to reveal the fifth, he becomes an entity of physical force that can generate and manipulate friction. He can stick to walls, make the road slippery, create platforms of air to stand on, and more.

- Destroying his chain prevents transformation.
- Excessive use of his quirk destroys his chain, signaled by a red glow.
- Partial transformation reduces the effectiveness of his quirk by 2 grades.
- It takes 3 posts to regrow his chain, during which his Vitality takes a 2-grade penalty.

Bamboo Disciple β (B+)
A staff is an extension of one's limbs. Not only can Antoine use it to slash, swing, and stab but he may use the stick as a pole vault or in tandem with hand-to-hand combat. A simple, versatile, and accessible style that proved its worth during his time in the Caribbean.
Balance β (C+)
The application of skill is more important than raw ability. Antoine learned to move and control his body to coincide with the utility of his quirk and to compensate for the lack of it when his chain breaks. He's always on his toes.
Bank Shot β (A-)
Pinpoint accuracy. Antoine combines his affinity for the staff with his knack for pool, physics, and improvisation. This allows him to use pool balls in combat and perform trick shots unbecoming a human.

A mask that not only conceals identity but... is kinda scawy.
Cue Stick β (C-)
A two-piece, black and brown pool stick coated in metal forged from Antoine's abdominal chain. When he transforms, the metal coating breathes it to life. 58 inches long.
Billiard Series 01 β (C-)
A set of pool balls coated in metal forged from Antoine's abdominal chain. When he transforms, the metal coating does so, too, resembling will-o'-wisps.
Slug Talk β (D-)
A liquid slug that lives in a bottle. When swallowed it coagulates into a slug and translates languages for the drinker until it has fully formed. After 10 minutes it crawls out of the drinker's mouth. Narrative use only.
