Boy drowning in melancholic blue. Guren is all gloom and moods, screamo and anime, sloppy genius with an unhealthy dose of anxiety, insecurities and an entire salt mine. The baddie image is a complete hoax - boy's a massive pushover and criminally shy. He never rejects favors, stops to help grannies cross busy streets. Does homework for anyone daring enough to ask politely. No one needs to know who he is, Guren is perfectly content with a tiny bubble-world and video games.
Obsessing over all the little details gives some semblance of control over a life that distantly feels like someone else's, but it comes hand in hand with lots of indecision and need for perfection. Is it bothersome? Not as much as the little voice lurking in his head, and it's endless tirade of abuse, whispers and hisses of how he'll never measure up.
Drifting through life like a little storm cloud, he soaks up all the rain and bad vibes, and saves it for a particularly violent shower. Plagued with poor self-expression through quirky, sometimes morbid humour and questionable song choices, he has a nasty habit of leaving all the frustration and fears to simmer and boil in a tiny glass-cauldron heart, emptied on bad days that hit like freighter trucks. Temper peaks, and Guren shuns any who might try to help, too ashamed and prickly to filter and choose his words wisely. The worst of them, he deals by reverting to old habits of locked doors, closed blinds and self-remedies.
For all that weighs the boy down, there's still some spunk in him yet, subtle flames burning behind mellow eyes. A quiet eagerness to prove himself and make the best of life, and perhaps someday be great and big enough to scream his existence into the world.

Guren might line his eyes like an obnoxious raccoon, but the sick pout, smoked eyebags and ash-stained fingers owe their unique cosmic blue tint to extraterrestrial indigo blood. Spicy blue locks reach far past his waist in untamed abundance, flickering and swaying like hypnotic, slow-burning flames. To his dismay, it emits a subtle glow that flares up at the slightest fluster and snitches regularly on his feels.
Teeth, all that teeth, pearly-whites, so wickedly sharp they put piranhas to shame. Guren is extremely self-conscious about them and often keeps his lips tightly pressed. Paired with monster-yellow eyes, wild hair, and a series of piercings on his tongue, ears, and collarbone, it's not unreasonable for most to presume him less than approachable. It doesn't help his lips and fingers are often bitten and cut, courtesy of his nervous teething habits.
With a toned, albeit underwhelming physique, he relies on layers and thick soles to help fill out his frame and add a little boost. He has his old man's azure hair and sunflower eyes, Maman's small nose and face, but it seems his maker was a little stingy with height. Sweats, hoodies and graphic-tees are his go to, maximum comfort and minimal, dull-dark-sad colours, headphones slung around a thin neck.
In true gothic fashion, Guren's costume features black, gold and deep royal purples in a chic high-collar two piece, bat-wing coat and combat boots, all fire-resistant and durable in material.
HISTORY
Power Couple Pros!
Japan’s enigmatic vigilante-turned-supersleuth, Blue Noir, and angelic French sweetheart, Psionette, rock the world with their whirlwind, rivals-to-soulmates romance at the peak of their careers. They grow somewhat notorious for popping in and out like weasels across the globe, wrangling criminals and crime-syndicates and dropping them off at the local authorities' doorsteps overnight. Last spotted in Budapest - the psionic witch in all her baby-bump glory kicking ass, alongside a very proud soccer-dad hubby, videotaping wifey fighting crime with their unborn babe.
The blue kit is a whole bundle of surprises. Glowing blue hair, walking before crawling, stacking blocks skyscraper-high, and a first word so advanced but vulgar that his Maman is equal parts proud and furious. Mon petite comète, she coos nightly, tucking him away into a cradle bathed in moonlight. He is so, so loved, and they expect wondrous things for the precious ankle-biter, who truly breathes meaning to the term when he starts teething. So ready for the world, Eloise and Kagura, Kagura and Eloise. Young parents so crazy in love, confidence backed by soaring careers and thousands of international fans. All hopes and dreams, goodness and light.
No Remedy for Bellami :[
Lucky sevens comes all too quick, and Guren is anything but normal. Full of frowns and pensive stares, possibly part gremlin - Kagura thinks his boy is a weird little shit, but it could be the jealousy talking (and the hissing as soon as Kagura gets within range of his wife, KAGURA's wife). Eloise adores him to no end - loves those sharp little teeth and grumpy, disapproving eyes, the way grubby hands try so hard to cling to her 24/7. It saddens her, just a little, that he has no idea how perfect he is.
Guren feels very much like an alien, stranded on earth and miles away from home. His smiles are awkward and terrifying, driving away peers and adults alike. He's butterfly-shy, hates going outside, overthinks everything and burns holes into pillows in his sleep. It gets worse, when the aftermath of a massive case forces Blue Noir and Psionette to relocate to Japan for safety. Guren's anxiety peaks then, tiny brain so overwhelmed by the change in environment, so severely spooked and distraught that they have no choice but to homeschool him. There are too many cases to drop completely, and their names hold enough weight that even the bigger fish are wary, so Kagura braves the mantle alone while Eloise puts a hold on her career to be there, holds his hand every step of the way - and while her presence is always reassuring, it does little to help. Therapy, church, meditation; all have little effect. With much of Europe and her partner still counting on her, Psionette eventually returns to active duty, heart torn in two directions.
So many tries, so many failures - Guren by then is so disheartened, he gives up and hides away; retreats into the safety of isolation, finds solace in books, games and loud satanic tunes, goes heavy on the eyeliner when the little voices in his brain star keeping him up for nights on end. Watches the world and his parents through internet windows, long sleepless nights spent binging videos and blogs on the miracles of Blue Noir and Psionette. Dreams of being brave and tall and proud alongside.
The world moves on without him.
goback, Go Back!11!1!
It's a horrible, rookie mistake. He wants to go home.
My Baby is in UA! 私のガキはUAにいます!Mon bébé est en UA!
Though he springs it on them in the last minute, Kagura and Eloise manage to fly in to celebrate and send him off, flaunting his latest achievements with big bold prints in three different languages on chests puffed so far out that Guren doesn't dare back out now. Swelling with pride, in him. For once.
Guren hadn’t meant to succeed. Has never been particularly promising or ambitious, doesn’t know the first thing about being a hero. All he has is a half-baked childhood dream. When the entrance exams opened up, the first thing that came to mind was, why not? Followed by overflowing confidence that never really resurfaced since that UA would most certainly take one look at him and say, 'because', then send him on his merry way. He'd get a job at a local cafe, work minimum wage for the rest of his life and die peacefully with 99 cats.
Now he's stuck with things like responsibility and grades, pictures of his embarrassing first day in an actual school, a childhood dream dangling before his eyes like forbidden fruit - and worst of all, a household name to live up to.
They have to leave to save the world again that very day. Eloise peppers her little comet with butterfly kisses, knows his brilliance and purity will touch and inspire so many. Regrets, just a little in a fleeting second, that she's not selfless enough of a mother to give up the world for her boy. She worries, and yet swells with pride when she looks him in the eyes and glimpses the sparks of his ambition that rekindle her own - even if their paths never cross, if he later decides Heroism is not his thing, she thinks - Guren is already her saviour, the wondrous little comet that lit up her darkness. Kagura, for the first time in years, wraps his arms around those skinny shoulders and marvels at how quickly time passes. Remembers how tiny his boy had been, bundled hot-potato in the man's trembling, too-large hands. No words to give, but none needed. The gleaming of his eyes tell enough.
When they leave, Guren is left giddy and dry in the throat, heart pounding into his ears at jackhammer speed. Squinting, then grimacing, at the smaller print on his father's back just before it disappears beneath his expensive leather jacket.
