In a word, Sheri Morello is unashamed. She is who she is, she does what she does, and she doesn’t plan to change that any time soon. Whether it’s her admittedly kind of outdated look, her open sexuality, what she does in her free time, she will defend it and not be shamed. To that end, she is also a very open book, speaking her mind and giving her unfiltered feelings. Just as she’d decided to not be a closeted Quirker when she was younger, she’d similarly decided that she wasn’t going to keep a whole lot of secret. She is who she is. This is sometimes a problem, making her unflinching and unmoving if you oppose her too hard. If you happen to be someone who can handle what that is however, chances are you are in her good books.
However, despite her harder exterior, she also tends towards warmth, empathy, and kindness when it comes to people. She’d written from the heart since she was young, and when she realized other people thought similar, she’d tuned into other people as well. Though a punk to the heart, she had also learned early on that it was just easier to get through life by being nice to those who didn’t actively oppose her, and as she got older and the plans of her ‘venue’ began to materialize, she knew that was the thing to cultivate if not just to be able to work with other people. These things are not one-person jobs after all!
She tends towards being more relaxed, but unafraid to stand up for herself and those around her as needed, not shying from a challenge. That said, having grown under the threat of being discovered, she tends to have her head on a swivel, very aware of the things around her and potential threats. Just in case. Somewhere between relaxed and prepared to fight is her general state, leaning towards the former. Sheri tends to have three main modes: relaxed, professional, and fight. Her more relaxed mode is more ‘her’, the kind and warm (albeit blunt) punk that she’d been in life and on-stage to an extent, easy to get along with if you match her vibe, pleasant company. Definitely someone to hang out with, listen to music, have a few drinks, easy. Professional is something she isn’t terribly good at quite yet, but something she’s had to cultivate more recently, taking responsibility and trying to make sure her dream doesn’t fall apart. More serious, still kind but willing to put her foot down as needed. It was a bit of a façade, one that she has trouble maintaining. And finally...fight. When push comes to shove, Sheri is a definite fight-lean on the “fight vs. flight” scale. She will focus on not doing heavy damage of course, but she is unafraid to fight for what she believes in, protect things she cares about, or just generally keep some order around her. She is a many-faceted creature.

» HEIGHT: 5'7''
» WEIGHT: 150ish.
» EYE COLOR: Hazel, edging towards brown.
» HAIR COLOR:Usually upper back length hair, usually fashionably messy, styled to emulate punks of times long past. Usually black, but sometimes bleached and dyed depending on her moods. Similarly, it is sometimes cut into side-shaves, but that's only when she's feeling like maintaining that, which isn't often.
» SKIN COLOR: Slight tan, but otherwise caucasian.
» FACE CLAIM NAME: Death
» FACE CLAIM SERIES: Sandman/DC Showcase
Sheri takes care of herself a decent amount, lightly muscled under her clothing but nothing terribly visible until it is shown directly. Toned, in a word. Her personal style would have been the picture of post-punk finery at one point. Unfortunately, that 'one point' was a long, long time ago. She tends towards leather/denim jackets and vests, pins, hand-painted and vintage pop culture/band t-shirts, jeans, boots, the whole shebang. She's updated it to the times, but those timeless looks of punk of the past are a big inspiration point, much as it was an inspiration point for her music. In a word, it's 'vintage'. Made to draw the eye with color and style while not adhering to standard fashion much of the time. She's been dressing this way since she was a teenager, and outside of donning dress jackets and cleaning up when doing managerial things, that didn't change. Unapologetically herself. She has small scars from past dust-ups, various tattoos including a cherry with a lit fuse, sloppy hand-done ones from The Ballistics days, a small one coming off her eye as a coverup for an old scar, as well as just designs she thinks are cool, and has various piercings along her ears. Just a classic punk! Her look is likely striking in this day and age.

As a kid, Sheri Morello was a bit of a hellion. Growing up in New York in a time of social upheaval has that effect on a girl. However, when it came down to it, that was all she was, a girl. Sure, there had been movements towards equality, but total equality was hard. So, Sheri took the only path she knew how to: she started a punk band. The Ballistics were nothing to write home about, just a little garage band between friends inspired by music of the past, a group of kids getting their frustrations out. They didn't even bother coming up with a name at first, it was never supposed to be anything more than that. Things changed. Two major events happened in a short period of time. One, Sheri realized she could do...things. She had heard of Quirks, but they were just so rare that there was no way it was her first thought. It started off unclear, metal objects seemingly creeping towards her without prompting, her guitar never sounding totally right, but once one of them fried, she knew something was up. The band became a second thought as he tried to figure things out, practicing with the silverware in the house, playing with ball bearings, and after a week or two, it wasn't unclear anymore. She definitely had control over them, even if it was spotty in control. In small amounts, it could do things to the sound of her guitar that she'd never been able to manage before. She even learned that if she focused, she could launch those ball bearings. A few broken windows later, it even wasn't terribly hard.
The second thing was that the band noticed, despite her trying to keep it under wraps. Things like her guitar sounding off for only her no matter how much others tested if it was in tune, her lack of focus, the broken windows with no real story at her place...something was off. When the truth came out, the band split into two distinct groups: "That is so weird but cool" and "there is something wrong with you". The latter members didn't last long, forced out by the others. Sheri never needed them anyway. On that day, The Ballistics were truly born, and Cherry Bomb was their frontman. Between the leftover original members and the replacements, they revamped their sound, becoming an odd fusion of the old music the original idea had been based on and the more modern sounds of the world, as well as distortions of Sheri’s guitar work that other music just didn’t have. With a focus on social issues, irresponsible behavior, and a certain dose of sex albeit mostly just in words, they stood out. There was a certain empowerment to just being able to focus on common denominators like that, despite Sheri’s ‘oddness’. It also gave them a certain...legitimacy in their songs that dealt with the issue of Quirks, though it was mostly to themselves. The whole band did their best to hide that little fact for awhile, leaving the odd sound and occasional launched piece of metal to ambiguity. They never took off, but among the local scene in New York, they were a presence, burning down local showcases with their unapologetic sound and stances.
However, like all good things, it had to come to an end. The secret could only stay under wraps for so long, and after a stray ball bearing launched at a show managed to get caught on camera as coming from the stage, people made the connection. Amidst the protests, it gave only two options: to lean into it or to quit entirely and try to disappear. The second option was never an option for Sheri, something that some of the other members didn’t agree with. So, much like their namesake, The Ballistics exploded, the shrapnel between members driving them both apart and together. Among the rubble however, Cherry Bomb stood strong. It was time for a solo career, along with the few people who had stuck with her.
Being an openly Quirked human was dangerous, Sheri knew this. However, to feel shame in something she couldn’t control just wasn’t an option. She leaned into her old name as hard as she could, upgrading from plain ball bearings to cherry red painted ones and openly starting to do shows as Cherry Bomb. She adjusted the old songs, made new ones, and settled into her new life. It had its struggles, god knows not everyone loved her music or her stances, but she managed. She refused to be shamed for her Quirk, which was a driving factor for both appeal and revulsion from the public. Those unfortunate enough to be causing trouble for others on the street may even have had run-ins with a ball-bearing equipped woman in a fox mask now and then. A Vigilante, no. But someone who helped when she saw something happening while she was out and about? Definitely. She squirreled away money for years off her new shows and ‘generous donations’, and by the time she had hit her mid 20s, she had a plan: a new venue, one where Quirkers would be not just allowed but accepted, one where acts like her’s both in the past and present would be allowed to flourish. A place for local talent along with out of town bands. Restaurant by day, venue and bar by night. However, life put that on hold, namely the local authorities getting…a bit too close to the fox-mask, and she knew she had to get out. She scrambled through her contacts, and then the show hit the road, using a bit of that stored up money for an impromptu tour, ending in Tokyo. She’d never been, but she had friends, contacts. It was no small undertaking, and it definitely took some faith investments as well…but after snatching up a run-down building in the city, her dream finally hit the tracks once more: The Cherry Pit. It wasn’t as big as she’d always imagined, and it needed work…but it was enough. So a former punk-rocker became an entrepreneur, and a new chapter began…

QUIRK NAME: Chick Magnet
QUIRK RANK:
QUIRK TYPE: Emitter
QUIRK DESCRIPTION: For an outwardly flashy and notable person, Sheri's Quirk is anything but: in short, she has magnetic fields around her hands. Unless she wants you to know she has it, you are particularly observant to the effects of magnets on guitars/small metal objects moving, or she loses control of it (which does happen from time to time), you likely would never know. Able to pull metal things towards her as well as expel them away, it is a pretty straightforward Quirk in the grand scheme. However, she'd learned how to use it in less then straightforward ways, such as distorting the sounds of her guitar, messing with electronics, some minor healing, and harnessing that magnetism towards control over her trademark cherry red metal balls, able to fire them with pretty notable force as well as retrieve them as long as they are within her field of effect. If magnets can do something, so can she! ...To an extent, and as long as they are around her hands.
Being that she never had the intent to kill, the main focus Sheri has put on her powers over the years is just being able to project them further. She has gotten pretty good at it over time, able to shoot her 'cherry bombs' and other metal objects around 20 meters with decent accuracy, as well as recall them from a similar distance. Part of the game of using her powers was always the chance of having to cause damage. It's not a skill she cultivated to an extreme level, but nonetheless, she can launch metal objects like her 'cherry bombs' with a decent amount of force, roughly equivalent to a bat, albeit more localized. Perhaps a rubber bullet, enough to cause damage without being likely to kill. Due to the training she's done with herself over the years and just generally being stubborn and unwilling to accept failure that she can prevent, Sheri has learned how to keep her power going for a decent amount of time before it starts to go haywire or entirely stop working. Nothing complicated, just the power of hard work, perseverance, and a complex. Finally, due to the magnetic fields centered on her hands, Sheri is able to do some minor healing. She read about a scientific study about magnetism as a painkiller as a kid and has been trying to make it a reality since! It is not extreme healing, more helpful for just reducing pain rather than fixing any sort of wounds, but it comes in handy from time to time. The only caveat is that she does have to be very close with her hands or touching. Essentially an enhanced massage or energy field reading from a new-age practioner, it is not her most cultivated power to be sure.
QUIRK DRAWBACKS: Versatile though her power is, it does come with it’s downsides. Namely, if she overuses it, things can get...messy. It’s a bit of a roulette wheel what exactly will happen, split between it completely shorting out for awhile on white, and the magnetism escaping from it’s localized position in her hands on black. Whether it’s her abilities stopping working entirely, or metal objects suddenly starting to be pulled or pushed from her without her control, overuse is a dangerous thing.
Along with this, her powers are not that hard to counteract even without overuse. She needs direct line of access without barrier, meaning that even if there is a wood block that is too big in her way, it can interfere. When she summons and releases objects, it also moves exclusively in straight lines, meaning that a good non-metal shield can stop it’s path relatively easily.
She cannot have any sort of speed upgrade from her Quirk either, being that it is localized in her hands, not feet. Unless she is doing handstands, it just will not work.
