This was possibly the most scared for her life she had ever been, and this wasn't her first run-in with criminals nor villains. However, something was different this time. For starters, there was a LOT of them, all wearing similar attire too, it gave her the creeps. It was foolish of her to think given how outnumbered she was, but if only she had carried her bat on her, maybe she could have held them off and let a few hostages escape. Not that she was in any way physically superior to any of them, if the animalistic features were anything to go on. Mutation quirks were always some of the scariest ones to her.

As the one who seemingly led the group addressed everyone she felt a cold shiver travel down her spine. How had she gotten herself in this situation again? She wasn't at all discriminating against others, if anything she was given shit constantly for not having a quirk! Could she negotiate with them? No, no it was too risky, it was better she kept her head down for now.

But was it really? Did she have the luxury to think like that? Eyeing the occasional villain she looked around for a blunt weapon. A bat, a hammer, heck even a frying pan would do, anything she could use if things started to get worse than they were and judging from gorilla's words things were indeed going to get worse. She was a hero student, she had to think and act like one without putting too much suspicion on herself.

If only she had a quirk...

''W-Wait!!'' She stepped forward and spoke before she could even register what she was doing. Oh no. Oh no she hadn't thought this through at all. ''You w-want to a make an example of someone? I-I'm a hero student! My UAU ID is in my pocket, you can check for it!'' By drawing their ire, whatever they were planning to do she needed to protect the civilians, even if it meant buying just a couple or a few more seconds. ''You want to make the news? You want people to know who you are? Duel me one on one!''

She wasn't exactly famous, not even for a student. Heck, a foreign exchange student with boring parents who worked boring jobs? She didn't even have a quirk as her claim to fame. Still, she was a hero student, quirk or not, famous lineage or not. If she could use that status to buy time for the other hostages she was going to. Even though having the leader of A.N.I.M.A.L. look directly at her was enough to make her regret everything she had just said. She didn't do anything to resist his henchmen as they checked her, although she did try to reach out for her ID card as it was tossed aside, failing to catch it. ''I need that..'' She muttered desperately.

When the leader jumped, she instinctively cowered and looked away, as if she was expecting to be squished then and there, only looking up once he addressed his people. ''W-Wait no actually I don't-'' Of course trying to get a word in against him was futile. Wait... Was this actually happening? She looked over her shoulder as they were given room. She was actually going to duel this guy?! She was bluffing! She just wanted to keep them distracted from doing anything insane, she couldn't fight a guy like this and win! ''U-Uh do I get a weapon?'' She asked meekly. Fighting with a weapon was her whole specialty and well, she wasn't exactly better than this Gore-illa maniac, but she was a lot better off with a weapon than without one. Wasn't he wearing armor too? This wasn't a duel, it was going to turn into a one-sided massacre unless a real miracle showed up. Surely the heroes were on their way, right? She shook when he roared and let out a yelp as she just barely managed to dodge the overhead smash by rolling to the side. Scrambling to get back up she started running to try and put some food court tables between her and Gore-illa. Whoever the heroes were sending, Freja really really really hoped it was someone strong.

How confident she had been when she called him out. At least a little more confident since he wasn't right up in her face then, wasn't trying to kill her then. All she knew was that if she turned around and fought him, it wouldn't be a duel. It would be her execution. At the very least, she needed some kind of blunt weapon to fight back. She was panting, panicked, scrambling to get away as she became increasingly aware that there really was nowhere to run or hide. She couldn't do it. She thought she could, but she couldn't it, she wasn't ready to die again, not this soon. What would her second life have been for if she threw it all away in less than a decade?

When the heroes finally did arrive, Freja stopped and looked in their direction too. The giant woman was the personification of hope in that moment and despite her general dislike for quirks, she had never been so happy to see someone use one in that moment. ''Titanomachia..'' She choked, weak, but hopeful. Moments ago she thought this would be her end, but with a powerful hero like her showing up, she suddenly felt the inspiration flood into her again. She could fight, she could help. She was just a first year hero student, but she was still standing. Getting a little too swept up in the moment, Freja almost didn't see the improvized spear coming, and only just barely avoided a fatal injury when it pinned her to the wall by piercing through the top of her jacket just above the shoulder. Where she would have once hesitated and been scared, Freja didn't hesitate this time. Slipping out of her now torn jacket, she summoned all the strength she could muster to try and pull the metal pole out of the wall. With a lot of effort she finally managed to pull it free. Thank goodness Gore-illa had felt the need to shout back at Titanomachia. The hero probably didn't know it yet, but she had saved Freja's life multiple times over already... Well, assuming she even made it out.

''I've already done that, dying is overrated.'' She tried to sound all confident and hero-like, but she was clearly still very scared of him. How could she not be? Huge gorilla power and armor to boot? It was hardly a fair fight, but she was used to the odds being stacked against her. The pole was a bit longer and lighter than her usual bat weapon, but it was a weapon all the same. ''If you really read my student ID card, you'd see I don't have a quirk.'' She retorted, pointing the pole at him. ''A-And I won't need one to fight you!'' Holy crap her legs were shaking, she really wasn't ready for something like this. When Titanomachia called out her ultimate move, Freja instinctively flinched and looked for cover, fearing that it was aimed her way, although she knew a pro would know better than to put civilians in danger. Taking a deep breath, she looked back up at Gore-illa. ''My name is Freja Helt. Hero name, Retry. I-I'm not going to die today!'' Her was shaky and uncertain, but with Titanomachia and all the other heroes coming to her rescue, and with a weapon in her hands, she had more resolve than ever before.

She looked Gore-illa over one more time before charging at him. Surely he had some kind of weak spot she could abuse. Even if it was just one hit, one hit, one second, it all could decide whether she died or survived this horrible battle. She felt like an ant in a hurricane, but she wasn't just going to stand idly by. To start off, she would try to swing at Gore-illa's ankles, both to test the durability of his armor, and because it was an easy spot for her to attack.
