Sometimes, you just gotta get your shit together and keep your chin up!

That's what this vigilante planned to do, there was some jerk out there stealing animals and trying to give them quirks through scientific means...but so many of the Pro-Heroes seemed to be turning a blind eye. Getting treating like some sort of conspiracy theorist whenever she tried to report it. Look, she may not have liked the corporate dogs, but Titanomachia gave her a shred of hope that maybe some of them were genuine and...that was such a delicate thread that begun to fray once again.

Sure...not all of them are shitty...

...but earlier that evening, the straw broke the camel's back finally landed with a final phone call.

"This is serious, it's not a joke!" The rare frustration she felt bubbling inside her chest as she practically spat those words out into the phone, wishing, hoping and praying that these pompous jerks would actually use their resources to at least look into it. Hearing the click, she hung the phone up on its cradle and slumped down on the ground, closing her eyes as she softly chanted that mantra to herself...

"It could be worse, it could be worse, it could be worse, it could be so...so much worse, c'mon, Jay...think!" Lightly bonking her forehead upon that straggly knee of hers with a heavy sigh, fighting back the tears born of frustration. Part of her knew there were people that she could attempt to call on, but tonight...she had to prove to herself that she could stand on her own two feet.

If it didn't work out, she'd reach out to one of the reliable people who would have the highest chance of having her back.

Forcing herself up and off the ground, she got all her shit together and looked out the window, "I've got this, even if it doesn't feel like it...I've got this..." Adjusting the strap of her bag, she looked down towards one of the kittens she rescued earlier on in her move here as it rubbed against her leg, offering the lil fella a soft smile, "Don't worry, Sugar Mittens, momma's gonna come home as always, okay?" Crouching down, she gave the little feline a couple of scritches and a kiss on the forehead, "Momma loves ya, buh-bye!" Getting up to her feet, she bounded out the door to find a place she could get suited up in the very vigi gear that showed her a mere glimpse into harsh reality...

...some bad guys have to die and there wasn't always another way to save the day.

Not like she enjoyed that at all, but...

...it could have been worse.

Finally getting to the place either the guy she was after or one of his associates were located...she looked around while keeping her visor on, a layout of the area showing within her visor and a you are here happy face marking her location. It didn't show anyone else on the map because...well...it didn't have those kind of capabilities! A work in progress, a biiiiiiiiig work in progress, but she planned on making devices for co-op missions and the like so everyone could keep tabs on one another, then a panic command to disconnect in the event of compromise. So this was the live test run to see how well it worked...and so far it seemed to be doing more or less alright?

For her, it was a lot like looking at a mall map, which is what inspired the idea!

All those times she got lost in larger malls, that was her guiding life, the happy face you are here sticker that guided lost losers like herself as a lighthouse shows sailors the way to shore. With her launcher strapped to her back, she carefully made her way around and winced when she lightly stepped on some glass, "Shhhhoots and ladders..." squeaking out those words in a hiss beneath her breath, but that just assured someone broke in before!

.......someone broke in before.

Oh no.

Okay, so she brought her hand up to the side of her visor and lightly tapped it a few times to tune in on an emergency line to keep an ear out for the fuzz heading their direction. Though as she wandered around, trying to find at least one of the jerks she'd been trying to go after, taking off what appeared to be a pistol off her holster...charging it up to emit some extra light outside of the neon glow her hair and suit gave off, "HellooooOOOoooo Mister, Miss or Mx douche bag hurting aaaaaanimals? I'm here to kick your ass, so if you could come out and let me give you just desserts, that would be greeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaat...." Walking around, she tried to listen to any sounds and shimmied away from walls, only to lightly bump into one and carry on.

"Goodness gravy, I gotta calibrate this thing...geeeze..."

Descending down into the streets, the dragon tucks her wings and sinks into the embrace of gravity. Giant talons become thin claws, scales scattering to the winds as fur begins to set in. It is as if there is understanding of just how small she is in this vast, infinite cosmos - Smaller and smaller she gets, until she is all but a mere cat dusted by the skies.[break][break]

Slinking across pavement and deftly leaping across broken glass, she does her best to slip into the building. Silence is her friend, ever so faithfully accompanying her on this journey. Unlike most cats, she isn't gifted enhanced hearing, but she doesn't quite need it when someone is gracious enough to raise their voice as they go stomping about this crime scene.[break][break]

Someone attempting to play the part of a hero? Well she can't say she's too surprised. Her eyes trace the outline of this person, her steps kept tight as she sinks her claws into their shadows.[break][break]

Now that they've possibly alerted whoever's in there with them, she wonders just how things will continue to unfold. At best, they're looking at a scenic chase down the alleyways drenched in moonlight. At worst, they might just peek the corner and attempt to grab themselves a hostage for additional ransom...[break][break]

Would she have to step in if that happened? Well... anything to liven up her night, right?

Ever get the feeling you're being watched...?

Well, with how this place was dark, kinda gloomy and seeking someone out before they found her...it felt like there were eyes on her around the corners and peering through the cracks all around. Although it made her skin crawl, she continued her personally appointed investigation goin' on...this vigilante wasn't a coward in the slightest. When a scamper following incoherent sounds of panic broke the silence, the punctuation mark of it all being a window violently being broken echo'd throughout the building.

Greeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaat!

"BRO, SERIOUSLY?! I SAID GET OVER HERE, NOT RUN EVEN MORE!" With the twitch of her fingers, grinding her sharp chompers in frustration, the wheels popped out of her boots as she began skating off quickly, "YOU THINK I WON'T CATCH UP WITH YOU, BUT I WILL!" Skidding around the corners, rushing towards where she thought the sound was and...dead end. "Fffffffaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhk....okay MAYBE you're getting away for now, YA PIECE OF SHIT, BUT I'LL FIND YOU!" Huffing out those words with frustration, she twitched her fingers as a corner of her visor rotated through images of the interior and exterior, namely of the floor that they were on right now...

"C'mon c'mon c'mon...process of elimination, c'mooooon...huh...?" While she was looking around, skating at a slower pace...that's when she finally noticed a peculiar cat.

...what if this place had a lab and this lil kitty cat got out...?

....maybe it was better to put the chase on hold until she got more help and take animals to safety instead?

Slowly crouching down, she let out a sigh and held out the hand that looked a lot more normal, even though her voice sounded a bit off from the voice changer and all, she still had a gentle air about her words, "Hey lil buddy...c'mere...psspsspss..." Maybe she should just start carrying a pouch of treats and cat food more often...cause she sure didn't have anything with her today. Hopefully the lil fella was okay...gods she was gonna beat the shit outta that jerk for using animals like test subjects when she got her mitts on the bastard!
