A lot had been happening in her life lately. Between the villain attacks in Tokyo and her death anniversary she had a lot to think about. She was revived because of a quirk, but how long would that last? Was she given an entire lifetime, or could she disappear tomorrow? It was a lot to stomach, which was why she pushed those thoughts away and chose to focus more on her training rather than worrying about things she couldn't find an answer to.

Swinging her metal bat in the empty training field she worked mostly on her form and technique. She was sparring against an invisible enemy, a faceless entity that had wronged her, or maybe it had committed a crime? The story didn't matter as long as she improved. Another thing she had on her mind was her hero suit. She had been sketching up ideas for her costume, but she wasn't sure if any of them were good, or who to even ask to help her manufacture it. Socializing was a pain... If only she knew the support students better.

Bringing her bat back around, Freja aimed to the side when she accidentally clicked her weapon's secret mechanism. A grappling hook fired out of the tip of the bat, immediately yanking her to the side and forcing her to hold on with all her strength. Worst of all, she only noticed it in those last moments, the grappling hook was set to collide with another student. ''L-Look out!!'' She shouted, hoping they would hear her words and react in time.

Robert Anderson, clad in his freshly acquired U.A Academy uniform, strolled along the very much empty training field, taking in the sights and sounds of his new environment. The bustling energy of aspiring heroes in the making that have trained within these grounds surrounded him, and he couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nerves. He was busy reading through the various rules and guidelines of the Academy that were in place, "Wow, I’m finally here at U.A. Academy! This place is amazing," Robert muttered to himself, his gaze wandering around the expansive training field as he strolled along. Everything felt so new, exciting, and slightly overwhelming, wondering how he would fit into this dynamic community, not to mention being able to make friends along the way. Clearly, the new kid on the block was kind, sort of, absolutely lost in his thoughts about the day ahead and the possibilities this prestigious school held, he failed to notice the commotion nearby.

"Huh? Oh hey, what's goin' o-" Robert began, his attention caught by the unexpected commotion. Before he could process the situation, an alarming shout reached his ears. "L-Look out!!" Instinctively, he turned toward the source of the warning, just in time to see a grappling hook hurtling toward him. His eyes widened, and he barely had a moment to react. "OOH MY GOD!!" he exclaimed as the grappling hook made contact, and he was sent soaring through the air.

"AAAAAAAAH, MAKE WAY FOR ROBBIE!!" Robert's yells filled the training field as he flailed mid-air, attached to the grappling hook like an unintentional hero in distress. The world spun around him, and in the midst of the chaos, he caught a glimpse of Freja, the wielder of the metal bat, looking just as surprised as he felt. With an unintentional and completely unacrobatic display, Robert was hurtling straight toward Freja, the unexpected duo in a collision course. Though with just a motion of his body, as he came crashing down, he dive bombed away from Freja, and crash landed into the muddy, grass in the ground with his feet comedically dangling in the air. "Uuuugh…" Robert groaned and moaned, his voice muffled by having his head and upper half body in the ground and his feet dangling above ground.

Groaning and moaning, Robert found himself in an undignified position, his upper body planted firmly in the ground while his lower half dangled in the air. As he struggled to make sense of what just happened, he couldn't help but let out a string of mumbled grumbles, his voice a mix of discomfort and bewildered amusement. "No, mama, I don't wanna go on the roller coaster ride... Oooow..." He muttered, his words muffled by the unexpected turn of events. Needless to say, this was certainly one heck of a good start to Robert’s first day at U.A Academy, and one could even say that he might get himself ‘hooked’ into the hero business!

Though, needless to say, with all comedic Heroic puns aside, that looked as though that hurt Robert pretty good.

UAU was indeed an amazing place. It was a place of self-improvement. A place where you could come not only to hone your talents, but grow as a person as well. It was also a place where you could get in a lot of trouble if your name started with Fre and ended with Ja. Here she was, sending a stray attack directly towards another student, but it was fine, right? He had a shielding quirk, or some means of just deflecting her weak quirkless attack. Surely he was just going to shrug it off and she could beg for forgiveness after.

Unfortunately for her, that wasn't what happened. She couldn't help but scream as the hook landed perfectly, she couldn't have hit him better if she tried. ''I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry!!!'' She yelled it out so fast that she started slurring her words. As he was being reeled in she feared the worst, but was also impressed by his last second effort to avoid slamming directly into her. If only he had stuck the landing too. Not that she was one to talk, she would have faceplanted dramatically if she was in his position.

Unhooking the hook, Freja quickly reeled it in fully and threw her bat to the side. All she could do now was beg for forgiveness. ''Admin is going to kill me.'' Silent tears of defeat streamed down her face. She was already labelled a delinquent and now she was attacking a student unprovoked? She was going to be lucky if she got away with just detention. She didn't waste any time getting down on her knees and putting her hands together. ''I-I'm so sorry, sir! I didn't mean to hit you, I was just training and I got carried away! Are you okay? Do you need me to take you to the infirmary?'' She offered a helping hand, his undignified position couldn't possibly be comfortable.

With his head and upper body still nestled uncomfortably in the dirt and his legs hanging in the air, Robert felt like he was starring in a slapstick comedy, albeit one that came with a jolt of unexpected adventure. "I'm Oook... Uuuugh..." he groaned, attempting to survey the aftermath of his unplanned airborne journey. His tone, though slightly pained, carried a hint of lightheartedness despite the situation. As Freja's torrent of apologies and tears reached his ears, he couldn't help but let out a weak chuckle.

"Did anyone get the name of that hook?" He quipped, trying to ease the tension with a touch of humor, though the discomfort in his voice was evident. "I mean, I've heard of a grappling hook, but this was a bit too 'grapple-y' for my liking!" With a slight wince, he managed to wiggle his legs a bit, trying to find a more comfortable position despite being suspended in the air. "No worries, no worries," he reassured Freja. "I signed up for the 'surprise mid-air acrobatics' class today. You know, just checking it off the list."

Despite his attempt at lightening the mood, he winced again as he tried to wriggle out of his predicament but failing. "But hey, if this was your idea of a warm welcome, it's certainly memorable. Although next time, let's try something a bit less airborne, yeah?" He flashed a half-grin, trying to alleviate the situation with a touch of levity. With an almost theatrical flair, Robert extended his left leg and foot outward, mimicking the gesture of offering a handshake, though in his current suspended state, it resembled more of a comical footshake.

"Hey, names Robert," he introduced himself with a touch of self-deprecating humour, his voice a mix of amusement and discomfort. "I just enrolled into U.A Academy, though you could say I'm kinda 'heroically' navigating my way through academia, cape-less and clueless!" His chuckle was accompanied by a wince as he attempted to shift his position, finding the humour in his predicament despite the awkwardness of it all. Freja would hear a chuckle from Robert with his head and upper body still being stuck in the ground with his lower body up in the air, trying to diffuse the tension with a dose of levity. "So, is this the standard greeting around here? Or did I just luck out with the initiation ritual?" Despite the unorthodox introduction to his fellow student, his manner remained friendly and light-hearted, hoping to make the best out of this unexpected encounter.

“But on a more, head on topic and puns aside… Mind getting me out? The blood is rushing to my head, and I really don’t want to get anymore dirty than I am.”

''What a relief.'' She sighed, relaxing her shoulders a little bit, maybe she would just be reprimanded by one of the teachers and that'd be the end of it. ''Yeah,'' she cracked a smile. ''It's my BassBall Bat, but I call it BBB.'' He seemed to be a pretty lighthearted guy, which was a relief. With everyone at this school having quirks she could only imagine what payback would have been like if he was malicious and decided to try to hit her back. ''I see, there's a class like that? I haven't signed up yet.'' She joked back.

''I-It's definitely not how I usually greet people.'' She waved her hands in front of her face defensively. If anything, this was her worst nightmare welcome. Attacking someone the moment you see them? Yeah, that's sure to net you friends. ''Uh..'' She blinked her eyes, taking a moment to understand the footshake gesture for what it was. Robert? That didn't sound Japanese, maybe he was an exchange student like her? ''Freja.'' She said simply, reaching out a hand to shake his foot gently. ''Aren't we all?'' She chuckled back. As first years there really was a lot they had to navigate and get used to, but she had learned that all of that was expected of them. No one was going to be mad at a first year student for being a fish out of water. ''Not at all. Usually handshakes are done with your hand.'' She teased, smirking. ''You're right, though. It's certainly memorable.''

''R-Right!!'' She immediately moved to help pull him out. ''So, what were you doing out here anyway? Were you training as well?''

With an amiable nod whilst underground, Robert chuckled at the mention of Freja's uniquely named Bassball Bat. "BBB, huh? Sounds like a trusty companion, though it seems to have quite the adventurous spirit," he remarked, his grin widening while he was still stuck with his upper body underground with his lower legs in the air. "Maybe it's aiming for a hero license too!" Her quip about the 'surprise mid-air acrobatics' class prompted another chuckle, happy to hear he at least made Freja laugh. "Well, I'll let you in on a secret—don't actually sign up for that class. The landing's a bit rough!"

Freja extended her hand for the unconventional footshake, Robert couldn't help but join in, accepting the handshake with his dangling foot. "Freja, nice to meet you," he replied cheerfully, appreciating her attempt to humorously correct the footshaking faux pas. "Ah, the nuances of cultural differences, right? Footshakes are the latest trend in greetings!... Even though I am stuck upside down in the ground."

As Freja offered her help to pull him out, Robert attempted to assist by squirming around, trying to find a way to make the extraction a bit less awkward, but he was finally freed from the torment that was dirt and began to shake all the muck and dirt off from his clothes, hair and skin, free from the evil that was being stuck upside down. "Thanks for the help!" Robert thanked before continuing, "Training, huh? Well, sort of... Well actually not really." he began, slowly standing up from no longer confined in the dirt. "I was more on a scenic exploration, you know, getting the lay of the land. Mainly because I just started and this is my first day enrolled at U.A Academy."

He grinned lopsidedly, trying to keep the situation light. "But hey, now I can add 'grappling hook manoeuvring' to my list of developing skill set, right? A bit ungraceful, but definitely memorable! Hahahah!" Despite the slight discomfort, he remained in good spirits, eager to turn this mishap into an amusing tale. “Guess you can say I got a bit too 'hands-on' with the landscape!”

''Not the bat, just me.'' She smiled. ''I guess it's hard to work on your landing when you aren't prepared to go flying.'' He was an interesting guy. If anything she was relieved he was so chill about this whole ordeal. Not everyone could get surprise attacked like that and stay so level-headed. Unless of course he was waiting until he was out of the ground to unleash his anger, but helping him out of the ground now was the least she could do.

''Don't mention it, I got you stuck in the first place.'' Even though he wasn't mad she still felt bad about it. ''Huh? N-No way! This is your first day?'' Attacked by a delinquent on his first day... She was making a horrible first impression! ''That's certainly an optimistic way to look at it.'' She bent down to pick her bat back up and put it up to rest on her shoulder. ''If you want to train too I don't mind sharing the space. It's a pretty big open field for just me anyway.'' She looked around, there was barely any other students around them. ''You get the hang of campus pretty quickly.'' She took another look at him and realized she hadn't even asked which branch of student he was. ''You're in the hero department, right? We're probably gonna have class together.''

Robert chuckled at Freja's self-deprecating humour, appreciating her ability to find levity in the situation. "Ah, the unexpected flight routine. Always a surprise, never a landing strategy," he quipped, managing a small adjustment in his position as she started helping him out of the ground. He shook his head, a smile playing on his lips. "Yep, fresh off the bus, you could say. And what a welcome party!" Despite the jest, he genuinely appreciated her offer to share the training space. "Thanks for the invite. I might take you up on that once I'm... well, on solid ground again."

He observed the field around them, nodding in agreement. "Definitely a spacious training area. And hey, getting the hang of this place quickly sounds like a plan. Flying lessons were not on today's curriculum, but hey, adaptability is a hero's best friend, right?" Her mention of the hero department got a nod of confirmation from him. "Yeah, hero department it is. I guess that means we're destined to navigate these corridors of academia together, dodging surprise attacks and all." He chuckled, realizing that his first encounter at U.A. Academy was definitely going to be a memorable one.

"Looks like we're in for an eventful ride," Robert replied with a grin, the humour in the situation not lost on him. Despite the unexpected turn of events, he felt a sense of camaraderie with Freja, grateful for her friendly demeanour amidst the chaos. He wiggled and wriggled a bit more, finally managing to dislodge himself from his undignified position in the ground. With a sigh of relief, he straightened up, brushing off some dirt from his uniform. "Well, that was certainly an... interesting start. But hey, I guess this is the kind of excitement I signed up for, right?" He chuckled, trying to make light of the situation.

"Thanks for the rescue mission," he added, nodding appreciatively to Freja. "And hey, if you're ever in need of... a not-so-surprising training partner, count me in!" With a friendly wave, he started dusting himself off, ready to resume his explorations of the Academy grounds, hoping the rest of his day would be a tad less airborne. "Hey, Freja," Robert began, readjusting his stance and casting a curious glance toward her. "Since we're destined to be classmates navigating this hero course together, any tips or heads-up about what I'm in for exactly? I mean, aside from the unexpected aerial excursions," he added with a chuckle.

He scratched the back of his head, genuinely curious about what lay ahead in the Hero Course. "Is it all about combat training, or do we delve into other aspects of heroism too? Any insider advice from someone who's been around the U.A. block for a bit?" He hoped to glean some wisdom or at least a hint of what his hero training might involve, eager to prepare himself for the adventures to come.

''Wh-What a first day.'' She smiled, embarrassed at how she had basically attacked him within mere hours of him coming to school to start on his hero career. Maybe her hero name should be changed to Bad Luck?

''Pretty much. If you can adapt quickly you're going to do very well once you actually go out in the field.'' She knew all about it, not that she actually had a license for that sort of stuff. She had simply fallen victim to villain attacks before and through that gained experience in fighting real life or death fights. ''Yeah, looks like it!'' She chuckled at the idea of them having to navigate surprise attacks. ''I'll teach you everything I know, not that I'm an expert or anything.'' She wasn't about to oversell her own abilities, especially not when she accounted for the fact that she was quirkless, something which some students took great offense to. ''No day is the same here and they're always exciting. You get used to it pretty quickly.''

''Oh yeah?'' She smiled, ''I'll keep that in mind! Although be prepared to take a hit or two from my bat again if we end up sparring.'' She teased, waving her bat casually. ''Any tips?'' She thought about it for a moment. What would be a good tip to give him? If only Sumi was here, she always knew what to say in situations like this... ''Lone Wolf-sensei, one of the teachers, he's pretty brutal, but don't take it personally he's equally mean to everyone of us. If you need someone to talk to, just about life, or struggles at the school, Sadako-sensei is our student counselor and you usually book a time in advance with her. Iphigenia-sensei is in charge of quirk research and stuff like that. If you want to learn more about your powers she might be able to help you.'' Did she miss anything? ''I guess, be open to receiving help from others. Lots of people here only want to help you, even if it doesn't always seem like it.''

''Eh- I'm sorry to disappoint, I don't do that well in class, my grades are improving but..'' She chuckled nervously. ''It's a lot of combat and rescue, but also the usual stuff you'd expect from school like history, languages and other stuff you might need as a hero.'' Hopefully that was thorough enough to give him an idea of this place. ''Oh yeah! Stop by the cafeteria! You can put in custom lunch orders to suit your diet for training, or if you have foods you need to eat because of your quirk!'' That about covered it! ''Oh and uh, it was nice to meet you! Sorry again for attacking you so abruptly.''
