Zipper isn't special. The most special thing about her is noticing how special other people are. Because of this, she's always known to step to the side. And, eventually, she liked it there. There's no expectation to be something she's not β to deliver something beyond her. Zipper knows her place. And it's her job to put people in their place, too. Whether that's crushing an egomaniac's delusions of grandeur or uplifting the timid wallflower into stardom, it doesn't matter. She sees where people need to be and is compelled to move them there.
Zipper is cutthroat in all the ways that matter, but she hasn't given up her humanity. If she cares about you, even if she disagrees with your perspective, she will stand by you. And she will do everything in her power to help you accomplish your goals β even if it's futile. Yeah, she'll make it your problem, but... you knew what you were getting into when you became her friend.
Or worse... client.
Needless to say, there's not much in this world that's going to stop her. The biggest hurdle she has to overcome is herself.

Zipper definitely doesn't work at it. You can tell by her hairstyle and fashion sense, or the lack thereof, that she prioritizes function and convenience over keeping up with the modern trends. The truth of the matter is that she does keep up and exclusively applies it to her clients. Her work ethic extends to everyone else and mysteriously ends at dolling herself up. Not even make-up.
More than that, she's tired. There isn't time to sleep when there's work to be done. And there's always work to be done. What she lacks in aesthetics she compensates for via personal hygiene. Despite being a chronic insomniac, she manages to avoid having bags under her eyes. But you can still tell she hasn't slept.
Her only notable feature is her gait. If she's off to a business meeting then you'll see a professionalism beyond her years.

Zipper was adopted by her maternal grandparents.
It's not an interesting story. There's a drunk driver. There's her parents. And there's a crash. It happened before she could create any formative memories. There was never a mistake about who her parents were β her grandparents made sure to share all they could with her. From pictures to videos to stories... despite an ill-timed tragedy at the beginning of her life, she's only known blessings.
But she can see them slipping away. Unlike her peers, she can see her guardians withering away. They all live above a tiny convenience store, but she's started picking up more shifts. They don't have the energy they used to. And they're smaller than her now, too. They weren't always. It's not like she's gotten any taller.
Her grandparents don't care how tired they are. They won't let her waste her life here. She has potential, even if she doesn't see it. So much so, they scrapped together and opportunity to enroll in UAU. Zipper managed to pass, too. It wasn't even hard.
