Kafka is a soft-spoken man who doesn’t like to go against the grain of the vibe. He is not one to sit idly while there is work to do, and is the type to save all rewards and treats for after the job is done. While he has a pretty high tolerance to the gawking stares and comments of onlookers, he has a very scathing opinion of his own ‘visible flaws’. He is prone to self-medicating his problems regardless of any long-term negative effects.

Since Kafka could remember, June had always been in his life, so he never really questioned it. Their parents had been close, so it was natural they would be friends as well… right? When high school came around, everyone assumed they would start dating, so they did, not like June would have let any other girl lay their fingers on her Kafka. He never really stopped to think too hard about why his stomach always seemed sour when she talked, or why he would feel shivers when their skin touched… that’s just how love worked right? But June’s love for Kafka went beyond what was healthy by any means. By the age of 23 they were wed. By the age of 27 they were picking out their first house, one Kafka would rarely be allowed to leave. Ever her little prisoner of love, Kafka endured their one-sided dynamic, until one day a fight between them got violent, and June made sure her Kafka couldn’t leave her. Each attempt to escape would be met with more severe punishments.
A few months later, the police arrived to a horrifying scene scene. The neighbors had reported the sound of screaming and a large bang, the house had been torn asunder, both of them in critical condition. It was ruled as a domestic argument that lead to an accidental explosion from a leaky gas stove. Kafka’s right arm was gone, and June was clinging to life. When he awoke in a hospital bed, Kafka was mostly held together by bandages and determination. Learning June has not survived filled Kafka with some confusing emotions, but it was hard to call them negative. Very few of the doctor’s words made it through the haze of the heavy meds he was on, but one phrase snapped him out of his stupor, “…Your late wife’s final request…” It seemed the explosion had done a lot of internal damage, thankfully both Kafka and June were compatible blood types. A chill ran down Kafka’s spine as he starred at the bandaged limb to his right, where for all accounts there should have been a stump. One final sick play from beyond the grave, as the two would never be separated, ever again.

QUIRK NAME: Til Death do us Part
QUIRK RANK:
QUIRK TYPE: Mutation.
QUIRK DESCRIPTION: Born otherwise quirkiness, Kafka has inherited a grafted arm and organs from his late wife, granting him access to their contained quirk factors. Her original quirk granted her a monstrous insect-like transformation, but for Kafka these grafts remain permanently fixed in their monstrous form, slowly spreading little by little as his new quirk takes root in him.
This quirk grants him a form of chitinous claw attached to an armored segmented arm that goes up to the start of his shoulder. Any attempt to remove or destroy the arm will result in it’s quick regrowth. The claw itself is razor sharp and each joint in the arm is rather flexible and capable of nearly full rotational field of movement. While the claw will never regenerate to resemble anything like his original arm, it can regrow in unique ways, such as scissor like pincers, a mantis-like blade, or even a multi-segmented centipede, the possibilities are as endless as they are horrifying.
QUIRK DRAWBACKS:
While his arm can regrow itself, it cannot make repairs to itself, meaning chipped or dulled claws, cracked chitinous plating, and other damaged parts will only be restored if the entire section is regrown fully, which requires that section to be initially removed. Long story short, in order to fix or change arms, he needs to forcefully amputate, and while this isn’t life threatening, it still hurts like it was his real arm.
Kafka was also formally right handed, which should go without saying has greatly diminished his overall usefulness in most situations.
