“Amnesia! That’s it!”

No one in the history of ever had sounded so happy over an amnesia confirmation. Yet here Momo was with a big dopey smile plastered on her face. She would have even clapped happily if she could have used both arms. But she couldn’t, so she didn’t.

“Oh! That’s such a nice offer, but I couldn’t impose on you like that! I don’t want to drag you down and I know you’re busy with your own studies…”

And Momo did know that. But how did she know that? She and Jun didn’t really talk. The last time Momo had seen her was when she did her entrance at the Hero Landings exhibit and gave Hikari an unintentional exit in turn. Momo’s nose crinkled and brow furrowed in thought that turned into a wince. Making most expressions hurt beyond what the pain medication they had her on could prevent. The ache chased away the beginning of a thought, the threads of the past memory they had been tied to slipping away beneath the haze of amnesia.

Unfortunately, Jun was not most people. On top of a tendency to sacrifice more and more while she tries to shoulder the weight of the world, she also had this little known problem known as "doubling down". "I'm...I'm in a good enough position where I can help you," she says, nodding. "Plus, a lot of my courses don't require as many written exams. I have more practicals than anything else. So uh. It's no trouble!" She tried to smile, though not the most confident one. "A-after all, maybe running through the same material as before might jog something loose? Maybe you'll remember things that happened throughout the week?" What did Momo even think happen to her? Did the doctors explain that? Surely they did. Or...maybe not. Maybe it was a litmus test for her, to come clean...it'd be the right thing to do, after all. Though it might mean Momo might hate her after this. Aimoto Momo

Momo’s mom had once told her that passing on nice offers made in kindness once was manners, twice was rude. So when Jun offered a second time, of course Momo had to accept. She wasn’t rude! Her grades also weren’t really in a place for her to keep arguing. Even after she had maybe hired the best tutor she could find.

“Okay! It’s a date then!”

Then Momo frowned. “At least it will be when I get out of here. I’m not sure when they plan on letting me go.” They had, in fact, already told Momo she had to stay another night for overnight observation because of the head trauma and coma, but because of said issues, Momo had already forgotten.

Whoopsie.

However, Jun quickly zeroed in on the bandage on her head, and the rational side of her brain immediately quenched the hot-headed nature of hers. It's better to play along than argue. Don't make things worse. "Y-yeah...date. I've never had one of those..." she says, trailing off before clearing her throat. "I'm sure it won't be too much longer. The doc will let you know once you're all set. Let's uh, maybe shoot for the weekend? It's-" she pulled out her phone, looking at the date. And the time. And she paled. "Wednesday. So, Saturday? That sound good?" She was, admittedly, panicking again. She lost track of time and thought today was Thursday, which meant no afternoon class. However, that wasn't the case and she'd have to really run in order to make it on time. But she also wasn't going to just bolt out before making sure they were both on the same page. Which...might take a good amount of time to sort out. With the amnesia and all that. She might as well accept the fact she was going to be late. Aimoto Momo

“Oh!”

This was the second time Momo’s casualness with language would have landed her a date. But she was already going on one with Antoine, so she couldn’t also go on one with Jun. That would be bad! So she shook her head. Then she regretted it. “Owww,” she pouted before addressing the miscommunication.

“Nono! Not a date date! Just a hangout date with friends! Like a date on the calendar or an appointment! It’s not that I wouldn’t want to go on a date date with you, I just can’t go on date dates with other people because I already have a date planned with someone else!”

Surely that cleared things up.

“But I should be free this weekend if I’m out by then! At least, I don’t think I have any plans. Though, I might not remember them if I did… But now I have new plans, so it’s okay!”

Yeah, that would have come off more as an insult than anything else. Especially if she had something else planned. Better to not rock the boat. "N-nevermind. Uh. Right, so Saturday. Let's do one, at...at the library. Yeah." Why was she flubbing this? Calm down, Jun, things are progressing faster than you thought. You can make it to class on time! This didn't stop her from slowly inching towards the door. "I'm sure things will work out! And...I'll leave my number with the nurse so if you need clarification on anything you can call. Er, text! Anyways, I forgot I had a class today, just shoot me a message...whenever? Whenever! Um...I hope you get well soon!" She gave Momo a formal bow, or as formal as one could get in this circumstances, before giving a wave and slipping out. "Talk soon!" That went well. Right? Aimoto Momo

“Okay!”

Momo was genuinely excited about the arrangement. She didn’t even seem to realize that Jun was creeping out the door as it was being made. Not until it was too late. She didn’t even have a chance to thank her for the cookies. All Momo had time for was a quick, “See you soon!” Then Jun was gone.

She wasn’t left alone for long. The nurse bustled in to check vitals, administer more pain medication, and deliver Jun’s number—of which Momo made immediate use. Or as immediate as she could while typing out a text with one hand.
