[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... Jun wanted to cry. Not because her chest burned and her side hurt. Oh no, that wasn't the reason. Her pride and joy, the Gurren Express, was sitting in the bottom of the bay, partially destroyed and waterlogged. The amount of work alone to get the engine back up and running was going to be a pain. She was dressed in a tank top and running shorts, swimsuit underneath as she looked down at the silhouette in the water, debating how exactly she was going to go about getting it out. Using her quirk was an option, but she had learned a long while back her constructs didn't do as well in the water as she would have liked. There was also the massive cleanup that was taking place not fifty feet away. If there was a way to make it buoyant again that would work, and she could get it to shore on the other side of the dock...but how exactly did she do that? Hojirozame Mako

There weren't a lot of people around at the docks.
The terror attack by sea monsters was still fresh on everyone's minds. Fishermen beached their boats, and the regular goers decided to wait it out till the coast was clear. Besides, there was a lot of debris under the water, that needed taking out before waters would be deemed safe to the public.
Mako wasn't most people. This place was her favorite fishing spot, and she couldn't fish so long there were broken boats and other trash floating in the water. She doubted fish would return any time soon, no doubt scared by the monsters and the miasma they left in the aftermath of the fight. So, she showed up in her working clothes - which were her old kimono pants and a white t-shirt, under which she had her old school swimsuit too. On her shoulder there was a pole with a hook on it. And a pole with a small net on it. Tools necessary for taking stuff out of the water.
Someone was there already. Narrowing her eyes, the shark-girl recognized the silhouette. It was that hero-girl from before! The one that hated getting touched. She waved at her from the distance.
"Yo! Miss Fortune!" - Mako came up with a nickname on the spot. As she approached, she loomed over Jun, and grinned with her toothy grin, from ear to ear. "Didn't think you'd be out of the hospital so soon. Thought you broke a few ribs. Came to help out with the community effort?"
Shark-girl looked around. She didn't see no tools.

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... Jun blinked, looking back at Mako, then around. Wait, she's talking to me?"Uh. I'm Jun..." she says, completely confused at the nickname. There were many pop culture references that she understood, but that wasn't one of them. She stood up, wincing as everything on her left side hurt. "Ribs were bruised, thankfully. Doesn't change the fact I'm still in a lotta pain." She shook her head, sighing as she looked over the edge. "Much as I should, that creature smells awful. I'm trying to figure out a way to retrieve my boat." She pointed at the silhouette in the water, pressing her lips together. "From what I can gather, the hull is smashed. I don't know the state of the engine, but I know for sure that it's waterlogged. What fuel is in it has to be drained. It might be salvageable, but I don't know..."She started to cross her arms, but stopped. The muscles in her left side were not having it. "I might be able to convince my roommate to help me fix it, but I know before that I have to get the thing up and out of the water, into some kinda drydock. For now I'd be happy just to get it on the other side of the pier here and onto shore. Problem is, I'm not sure how to go about it."Hojirozame Mako

Mako let out a laugh, at Jun's confusion.
'Jeez, this girl's even less humorous than I am.'
She looked over the silhouette in the water, while her new buddy stated her woes over the sunken boat, and the ribs that were still bruised. The shark-girl gave her a look of chiding concern, and sighed, shaking her head a bit. "Were you a child of mine I'd give you a scolding and send you to bed till you're fully healed. But you're not so... whatever floats your boat? Snrk..." - Mako snorted a bit over the unintended pun.
Her thoughts focused more on the task at hand, and the aftermath of the battle with the creature. The mention of the smell made the girl's eyes roll.
"Tell me about the smell. I got a mouthful of that purple tentacle gunk. Still not sure I won't grow one in a few weeks. I suppose I could help you out with the boat. My quirk would be useful for once. Might need bigger tools than these though." - she nodded towards the hook and the net on her shoulder. Tapping her chin, Mako thought about it for a little while.
Then, she had an idea.
"Say, you can make those green gun things, yeah? Think you could make a crane with a winch or something? I could dive down there and attach some cables to your boat, or what's left of it, and you can pull it ashore. Something like that."

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... The corner of Jun's mouth twitched a little at Mako's statement about her being a child. It was in poor taste, but better to not dig into it when there was a job to do. "Bigger tools would be useful. The ability to lift the boat out will be painful once we get it close to the surface, though. Dynamics and all that." It was a bunch of science that Jun didn't understand, but there was something brewing inside that empty head of hers. "Unfortunately, my quirk doesn't work like that. It's...a long story, but short version is I can't just make whatever I want. However..." She looked around, thinking. "I can make chains, and with chains we can maybe pull the back end onto some kind of raft or something. That way we can guide it through the water and all that. Maybe..." She looked back at the crews, and then around at the docks. "I remember your quirk, and you can transform...yeah, that will make things easier."She put her hands together, taking a breath. "Find a raft of some kind, I'll find the pulleys. This just got so much more doable, I promise I'll pay you back some way in the future!"Hojirozame Mako

"Shame. This thing's gonna be much harder, then."
Mako really hoped that the girl could just imagine a functioning crane into existence. With engine and whatnot. Sadly, that wasn't the case. Chains and guns weren't going to help them much, around here. As for dynamics of getting things into and out of the water, the shark-girl knew a thing or two. What she knew wasn't exactly giving her confidence, though.
"See, we'll have to lift the boat, the water inside the boat, and the water pressing on top of the boat as we pull it up. That's gonna be a few tons of weight. Can you lift a few tons? I don't think I can."
Mako shrugged. No makeshift raft was gonna hold a few tons either. There had to be another way. She tapped her chin, thinking and raking her brain. Though the shark knew how to save people, lifting heavy objects off the ocean floor was a different thing entirely. Most of the time, her primary concern was to help people float above the water, and...
'Wait... that's it!'
"I have an idea."
Knowing her way around, Mako went to where the shed for all the maintenance equipment for the docks was. She came back a minute or so later, carrying a couple of big empty plastic barrels. Looking at Jun, and grinning.
"Help me bring more of those from over there. We're gonna need plenty."

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... Jun thought her pulley idea was good, but Mako thought otherwise. Which...fair. Jun was not exactly the strongest physically and was no doubt outmatched by Mako, which is why she had to exert her brain over issues. And there was a lot of water down there, and she knew they'd have to fight it, but Mako had some other idea that she clearly wanted to try. Jun tilted her head as she walked away, and when she came back with some empty barrels she couldn't help but scratch her head. "Uh, sure. Hang on!" She went away to the supply depot, finding a few more empty barrels and began to roll them over. She was still at a loss, though. "So, uh. What exactly is your idea?" Jun herself was at a loss. If she was being honest, she was willing to give this a try so long as it got her boat out of the water, but she did have a lot of questions surrounding what the plan actually was. Hojirozame Mako

A few journeys back and forth, and they had a dozen barrels lined up at the pier, right above where the boat sunk.
Mako's been bringing those along, with a toothy grin on her face. She knew something, and was confident it would work. She also brought some rope with herself, which she cut into pieces, a few feet each, and put each piece through the handle of each of the barrels. Once they were done, she would explain her clever plan.
"Barrels are full of air. But I can pull them down underwater. Then I'm gonna tie them to your boat. With enough barrels, it'll float right off the seafloor, and we could bring it back to the shore!"
The shark-girl explained, as she disrobed, leaving herself in her one-piece blue swimsuit, with the name 'Mako' painted on her back. Taking a deep breath, she started transforming again. Unsettling sounds of crunching bone and joints popping, as she grew a tail, literally, as well as fins, teeth, and her skin turned gray. Mako would've preferred not to do it, but she was stronger that way. Climbing down the ladder, down to the water, she dived in, and went all the way to the bottom, where the boat was. Wasn't hard to find. It was mostly intact... minus the big chunk bitten off.
'Yeah... that would take a while to fix...'
Swimming back up, she waved to Jun, from down below.
"It's not in pieces, just a big gaping hole at the bottom! Throw me the barrels! One at a time though, don't want them to float away. If you can find a way to push on them to make them sink, that'd be great too!"

| [attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... The back and forth did wear Jun out a little, but once they had a decent number of barrels and lengths of rope Jun listened to what Mako was telling her, and...well, that logic checked out. It made a lot of sense. As she stripped down and began her transformation Jun began taking pieces of rope and tying them around the barrels, ensuring that they were tight enough and that Mako had enough length to attach them to the boat. With the first one ready she rolled it to the edge, tipping it over. "Pretty sure I felt the bottom splinter, too! There might be a cracking running the full length, if possible alternate sides when you tie the barrels on. One left, then right, then left again. We want to make sure that this process doesn't further damage the hull." The engine was another story, but Jun was still sure that it was still in good shape. Well, as best as possible. "That's the plan! Now you're getting it!"
Mako grinned with her toothy smile, as she caught the barrel. Beating as hard as she could with her legs and her tail, she managed to push it down to where boat was, enough for the rope attached to the handle to reach it. She passed the rope through the mooring ring and pulled on it, to drag the barrel closer, before tying it up. Then, she swam back up for another barrel. Repeated the whole thing.
It would require more than a few barrels, though. The boat itself and the water in it weighted plenty. So, Mako had to dive like 7 times more, so that there were 4 barrels on either side. When the last one was attached, the boat disturbed the sand underneath, as it slowly started rising upwards, getting closer and closer to the surface. The barrels broke the water glade first, while the boat remained underneath. Still, it was off the ocean floor, meaning that it could be dragged towards the shore. Popping out of the water, Mako waved her hand to Jun.
"It worked! Ptooey~ Now... use those chains or whatever and drag it to the shore!"
The hardest part was over, or so it seemed, at least...

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... Jun took a deep breath, focusing on her fear as she created a chain with a small anchor on the end. She stepped to the edge of the dock, tossing the end out so the anchor would hook the bow of the boat and give her control. Once she felt it hook she'd begin walking down the dock in order to bring it around the end and then back towards the shore. All the while, she was thinking, Might not be able to fully bring it to shore in its current state with the barrels and all that. Might need a hand with it...Once around the end and about fifteen feet from shore she felt the boat catch the bottom, and the barrels began floating in other directions. "Okay, uh...I need a hand!" Jun leapt off the side and splashed into the waves, getting as direct-on as she could with the boat as she started tugging as hard as she could, struggling to get the ship on land. Hojirozame Mako

Mako snickered a little as she heard Junsuina asking for a hand.
For some reason her mind jumped to at least three jokes. One of which included throwing a human hand her way. But ... there was none here. And she'd probably freak out, too... Still, the shark-girl continued paddling along with the boat, until it was a bit stuck when the barrels reached the sandy ground near the shore. Most of the boat was above the water now, though! So they could do something about it.
"I'll have a crack at it!"
With that, Mako untied the front barrels, and moved them away. Letting the boat being dragged forward till the next pair of barrels hit the same place. This repeated a few times, but with every set of barrels, the nose of the boat went forward, to the shore! And when the last ones were gone, the boat flopped on its belly, almost at the shore! The girl pushed at it from behind, her feet digging into the sand. A few heaves, and they were done!
The boat was moored ashore. And leaking water from the gap made in it by the beast.
"Phew!" - the shark-girl said, grinned, and gave Jun a thumbs up. "We did it! You got your boat back. Can't promise how much it can be salvaged, though..." - she scratched her head. "You got a pretty useful power, there. All I get is being a half-fish."

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... Jun flopped on her back, not caring about the sandy nature of the beach as she let her constructs fade away. All things considered, that was still a lot of work. Granted, Mako did most of the heavy lifting, but hauling a boat plus all that water onto shore was not an easy task. "It's...got its ups and downs," she says, sitting up. "Well, half-fish or not your quirk has its uses, too. You've clearly got more strength than I do, and if something were needed out at sea? You've got me beat hands down. I can't even construct a proper raft with my quirk...plus, I can't form anything under the water." It was a niche problem with her quirk, but it was for the best that it couldn't do everything. She looked over at the remains of her ship, her expression bleak as she thought on what needed to be done. "In terms of what needs to be done with it...I'll have to get it into a shed or something and get it off the ground to really go over what needs to be done. But that's a problem for another day." She looked down, thinking. "Wonder if I can convince Ana to help me out with it..."Hojirozame Mako
