[Freja Helt]

Like many other denizens of Tokyo, she had seen the broadcast that morning. Dream World, a place that seemed to good to be true, with outrageously low prices and security that made it so it could never turn into an event like what they all experienced with the elemental monsters. She hadn't retained the details so after class she looked it up again, even rewatched the broadcast online, or was it her first time watching it? Had she watched it that same morning, or heard about it from rumors around campus? Somehow it was all so unclear, but it seemed like a fun time. A fun time which could be made even more fun with Sumi. She knew she had to act fast, so she stopped by the support labs to look for her. If she didn't catch Sumi before school was out for the day however, she would simply text to invite her to go.

This all led her to the current scene, having free breakfast at Dream World with Sumi. The amusement park boasted with a wide variety of things to see and do, so they had decided to start their day out here early to get the most out of taking a roundtrip around the park. ''For free breakfast, you would expect them to go cheap, but this is quality stuff.'' She picked up her coffee cup with both hands and gently blew on the surface. Sumi had helped her dress-up for the occasion and to say she was scared of getting stains or crumbs on herself would be an understatement. She had never taken such a careful sip of coffee before in her life. ''How do you like to start your day? I usually don't go with anything too heavy for breakfast.'' She smiled at Sumi, trying not to be too distracted by how beautiful her friend was looking.

It was even more impressive once Sumi dove into the details and learned that they were allowing anyone from any walk of life to buy a ticket! She wasn't going to question how that could be done she was just more excited to see all the sights and meet all the people. Prior to Freja's text she had planned to go alone but spending the day with her best friend was even more enticing! Freja even mentioned that she'd wear the outfit Sumi picked out for her last time they were together which was a super cute yellow one, exactly her color.

As for Sumi herself she opted to wear something a bit more tropical and casual given how much walking they'd be doing. Of course, she'd also have some backup outfits, but this was her favorite! Boy, was she glad she chose that outfit when they arrived and immediately headed to the food court for breakfast. Even as early as it was, there were still many people here already! Still, they managed to get a good seat, and Sumi was beaming at her friend in her new fit. "I told you that yellow top would look great on you. You look so cute! Loving the braid too!" She always wanted to encourage Freja to try something new. From karaoke to being the drunkest girl at the party, it didn't matter to her.

"Okay, so I normally don't eat this stuff this early, but...I love chestnuts! I gotta get the Kurigohan!" she'd smile and get up from her seat, thankful that they had the same kind of food service that UAU was blessed to have. "What can I get you? No judgment; we're here to have fun, and I can pronounce any Scandinavian or Danish dish! I've been practicing" she'd give Freja a wink as she awaited her order.

Did Sumi just call her cute? She blinked her eyes a couple of times, almost choking on her food, but saving it at the last second as she looked away discreetly, red all over her face. ''T-Thank you, you look great too. Relaxed but stylish, it really suits you.'' She looked down at the braid that fell over her shoulder. She had worn the odd dress here or there before, but a braid, this was a first for her. ''I never once considered braiding my hair even though it's so long, but now you made me want to get good at it.'' She smiled from behind her cup as she took another sip.

''Kurigohan? Haven't tried that before is it good?'' She was about to stand up too, but then Sumi offered to pick-up her order too. ''U-Uh, havregryn! Could you get me a bowl of havregryn?'' She put her hands together to express her thanks before turning back to her cup again, Sumi's wink living rent free in her head as she fidgeted with a map of the park. It was such a tiny gesture, but it brought her so much happiness. Thinking back on it, Sumi was good at that. Doing lots of little things that made her unreasonably happy. The odd text here or there could turn a bad day into a good one, and even though she was embarrassed at the memory of getting sick at her place, part of her also cherished it. She had been there for her at a real low point and turned it into a night she remembered fondly.

''Do you plan to ask her?'' Sadako's voice faintly sounded in her head. She wanted to ask Sumi, but she was so scared to hear an answer that would make her upset that she hadn't even asked yet. For weeks now it had been occupying her mind, although she had been thinking about Sumi long before then.

When she inevitably returned to their table Freja would point down at their itinerary. ''I looked over all the places we could visit, where do you want to go after breakfast?''

Freja would know better than anyone that Sumi had a bit of a fascination and varied collected of glasses and sunglasses even though she had no issues with her vision. She just liked the look! "I used to braid my hair all the time!" she fumbled for a minute with her purse and took out her phone, quickly scrolling through the literal thousands of pictures until she found what she was looking for. "As you can see, I used to have really long hair, but once I started working in the lab and stuff, I had to cut it. Long braids are a thing of the past, but let me get that havregyrn for you. I'll share some of my food when I'm back!" she'd hurry over to try and get ahead of the line, returning a few minutes later with the two dishes in hand.

Sitting back down she'd give thanks before taking a bite and giving hum of satisfaction. She'd take a bit on her chopsticks and hold it out for Freja to take a bit. "As long as you're not allergic to chestnuts, you'll like it! Some people think it's bland, but I beg to differ!" assuming Freja did take a bite, she'd go back to eating and take a moment to scan the map. "Honestly, everywhere, but maybe something simple after eating? How does...the sightseeing lift sound??"

''You do have a really good eye for those!'' By comparison, Freja was the type of girl to buy new sunglasses and not get a new pair until her current pair was broken and needed replacement. Was that wrong of her? Should she try to be more like Sumi? Like more... Fashionable. ''Huh? Really?'' She looked at Sumi's hair, picturing how difficult it would be to braid it when it was so short. Her brain only caught up once she was shown the old pictures of Sumi. ''That's you?! You look totally different! Uh, but still pretty all the same!'' She recovered with a smile, not intending to sound rude or anything like that. Still, her heart was pounding like crazy. ''Yeah that would get in the way while you work, wouldn't it?'' She perked up at Sumi's pronunciation of havregryn. ''Hey, that's really good! You're a natural.''

Normally she didn't, but in the company of her best friend she figured why not and closed her eyes to give thanks as well before eating. ''Mm?'' She finished chewing her food and put her spoon down when Sumi held out her chopsticks. Wasn't this that thing they made a really big deal out of in anime? An indirect kiss? She tried not to think too hard about it and leaned forward, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear as she took a bite. She could just blame her blushing on the Japanese summer heat, right? ''If you like it? No way it's bland.'' She sat back down as she chewed, eyes lighting up as she gave Sumi a thumbs up. ''It gets the Freja seal of approval!'' She was conscious of her hair, moving her braid so that it wouldn't dip into the milk in her bowl. ''Sightseeing lift? Sounds perfect! Let's us get a good view of everything so we'll know where to go next.'' She took another spoonful and finished chewing before speaking. ''To be perfectly honest I'm glad you didn't say rollercoaster. Some people can do it, but I feel like if I went right after eating breakfast I'd get sick.'' She chuckled. Once they had finished eating Freja offered to bring their dirty dishes to the nearest cleaning station where the staff at the park would presumably wash them later.

''Do you go to amusement parks often? I used to go with my sister when we were little.''

"Aww thanks! I don't think I'd ever return to the long hair, but if I do, you'll be the first person I'll tell!" She would wait in anticipation to see Freja's reaction and, besides, probably running a little hot due to the summer heat, which is why her face was red in Sumi's eyes. "The Freja seal of approval??" she'd laugh to herself. "I'll take it!" she'd happily dig in to her food not knowing what an indirect kiss was and therefore not bothered by it at all.

"Right? I couldn't do a rollercoaster after eating; this is light meal but that's too much!" she'd finish her meal and then hand Freja the empty bowl and give her a thank you. Once she returned, Sumi would gather her stuff in preparation for them to get going. "I do LOVE rollercoasters. Its such a thrill, but I haven't visited many amusement parks. That's what happens when you travel a lot!" the crowds were really starting to pick up now that it was getting a bit later in the morning. Thank god Freja suggested they meet early and make a whole day of it!

''That's not cheating, that's just smart. I guess Tiamat really is worldwide, isn't it?'' Even though Sumi had the possibility of hearing Danish through the overseas Tiamat branch, that didn't make her proficiency any less impressive. A big part of her being this good at pronouncing words already was also in the effort she dedicated to it. The best part was she made it look so effortless. She wasn't a genius for nothing. ''Have you gotten used to the shorter hair?'' At this point she almost forgot what it was like. She had considered cutting her hair many times, but hadn't done it yet out of respect to old Freja. They were sharing a body after all, right?

''Y-Yeah!'' She blurted out, before giggling at how silly that was. ''The official one, a very serious seal.'' She finished with a nod before taking a sip of her coffee. For a moment she considered offering Sumi some of her food, but how weird would that be? She didn't even mean to ask for some of Sumi's. It was offered and she just kind of took the opportunity to try it. She looked back at Sumi to gauge her reaction. She didn't seem to mind at least, and she had offered anyway. Maybe she was just getting stuck in her own head again. ''Hm?'' Before she knew it she had already taken care of the bowls and was headed back to Sumi.

''I was never really a fan of rollercoasters.'' She admitted arms behind her back as they walked. Freja was a fan, Elias wasn't. That was pretty much their dynamic. Freja was the reckless one, Elias was the careful one, and yet he somehow got involved with gangs and all that. ''But I feel the urge to go on one a little later.'' She smiled back at Sumi, greeting the employee that let them onto the sightseeing lift as they boarded. ''That must be the live stage!'' She pointed towards the stage in the distance, beaming. ''It looks so small from here, but this is easily the biggest amusement park I've ever been to.'' She wasn't necessarily afraid of heights, but she had to admit she wasn't a fan of looking straight down. All the more reason to use Sumi as her anchor, not that she needed an excuse to look at her. ''You like traveling, right?'' She knew how Sumi felt about those fancy parties and how they could sometimes become a bit too much, but did she actually like to travel, or did she just do it for the sake of Tiamat? She was totally asking without any ulterior motives.

She never shied away from uncomfortable conversations, and the idea that she was privileged was never something that she wasn't aware of. "I have gotten used to it! It's been more than a few years now and there are so many styles I couldn't pull off with the long hair that I get to try!" Sumi was an endless spring of positive energy as always!

"Really? Even back when you two were separate, you weren't a fan??" she was surprised, given that they ended up in this situation because of their involvement in gangs; she figured that would make them both thrill seekers! Her desire to go on a rollercoaster later did make Sumi smile brightly as she was happy that they could both enjoy this day to the fullest! Getting outside of your comfort zone, even if just for a little bit, was such a great thing to see Freja doing.

Sumi stepped onto the lift and immediately, like a kid would, took a seat facing the window as her eyes scanned the rest of Dream World as they went up. "Oh, I see it! Looks like someone is getting ready to sing!" Rhea. "And over there I recognize that red hair anywhere that's Masao with her friends!" Ylva and Misaki. "Plus-...is someone chasing a goat???" she squinted, unable to make it out completely, but little did she know that the duo was none other than Elijah and Emilia. "This is so cool!" she'd pat the seat next to her. "You gotta see all of this over here!" It was a tight fit but assuming Freja took her up on the offer she would just squeeze in next to her nice and close. "Yeah, it's super fun! I've been around the world basically at this point and I wouldn't trade it for anything! In fact I'm going to be travelling to two Tiamat sites in Europe in a few weeks, they need the extra support!" she hadn't been told which yet but ultimately in the wildest coincidence one of them would end up being Denmark.

She was happy for Sumi, that she was proud of her family. Even if she couldn't really relate with her own family, the fact that Sumi was happy with hers and it wasn't a source of headaches was all the better. Weirdly, despite her own upbringing and the general attitude the internet has towards rich people Freja didn't find herself thinking about Sumi's money or privileged background either. Sumi had all the style of a wealthy person and none of the downsides. She seemed impervious to it all somehow. She was just that amazing.

''Yeah that's quite a while. I missed having short hair at first but I've gotten used to it. Now I couldn't imagine going back.'' She took another look at Sumi's hair. ''Maybe if it was the same length as yours or a little longer, but I like my hair how it is.'' She subconsciously fiddled with the braid before noticing it. ''Like now I can do stuff like this! Six years ago I couldn't have pulled off braids.'' She joked, thinking about how Elias's hair was even shorter than Sumi's current cut.

''I wasn't, but my sister was. Since we fused, well, I guess now I'm scared, but I want to go on one? It's like they're both telling me what they want.'' She wasn't even that scared of the idea of going on a ride. She wasn't sure if it was because she had gotten braver, or if it was because she was more preoccupied with making a good impression with Sumi. It's not like it's a date or anything, but she still wanted to put her best foot forward and make sure Sumi is having a great time, even if they just stayed friends forever like this.

''Wait, really?'' She pressed up against the window too. It took her moment but she spotted Masao red hair and quickly noticed Ylva and Misaki. She still felt bad about how her first meeting with Ylva had gone, and their second meeting too... It was impossible to get a read on her. ''A goat?'' She squinted, failing to spot the exciting goat chase before looking back at Sumi. ''Your eyes are crazy good.'' She quietly took a seat next to Sumi, feeling a little rush of happiness in her chest. Wait... Weren't they a bit close. Was Sumi okay with that? Hopefully she didn't smell. She had put on a new fruity perfume, but what if it had worn off by now or something? She took a deep breath, but as quietly as possible hoping Sumi wouldn't notice. She was overthinking again, she needed to quit that habit and just enjoy the moment. Still, Sumi was so close that she could feel her. Normally they weren't this close.

''Bet you've seen all sorts of things.'' What a relief, so Sumi did like traveling. ''To Europe, huh? That's pretty far.'' She turned to look out the window again and noticed one of the big rollercoasters zoom by in the distance. ''That's the rollercoaster?!'' They were definitely not that big back home. Her eyes wandered as she spotted another place.

Once the lift came to an end she smiled back at Sumi. ''I know where we need to go next!''

Only the most exciting of rides. This type of ride was common back in Denmark too, if not one of the most popular kinds of rides. If Sumi allowed her she would lead her to the line of the water ride. ''How about it? These are usually really refreshing.''

No matter what you have both Freja and Elias with you always." she would smile at Freja before turning back to look at all the people down there. It was so busy and Sumi was just excited that this place would be open for a few more days. That just meant they could come back; after all, it wasn't like something horrible was going to happen to her...right? "Oh, by the way-" she would lean in a bit, clearly not worried about personal space. "What's that perfume?? I really like it! It smells like apricots!" if her eyesight wasn't enough to impress Freja, she had a pretty good nose, too!

"Looks fun!" she would grab her bag as the lift came to an end, letting Freja off first and then following shortly after "Oh really?" with no issue going along with what Freja wanted, she would follow her to the water ride "For sure! This looks fun" she'd tug at the bottom of her shirt, realizing that this meant she'd need to do a quick change. "G-give me a sec!" she had managed to spot lockers on their way over and while Freja waiting in line she would grab one to store her stuff before returning shortly after. "Ready!" Luckily she thought to bring an outfit change...or two!"

She blinked her eyes at Sumi as she gave her a new perspective on her fusion situation. ''I had never thought about it like that before.'' She admitted with a soft smile, rubbing at the back of her neck with her hand. Had it been anyone else saying it she might have been upset, but she respected Sumi more than anyone else. Her attention trailed back to the sights, eyes lingering on the concert stage for a moment until she attention snapped back to Sumi when she leaned in a little closer than she had expected. ''H-Huh? Mine? I-It's a new one.'' She blushed, her heart pounding as she put her hands together. ''The brand name is Japanese so I can't remember it right now, but I can take a picture for you when I get home?'' Although she was flustered, she was also silently celebrating that she had ended up picking out this particular perfume. Did Sumi like it that much? If so, maybe she should start wearing this one more?

She thanked Sumi as she helped her off the lift, still getting accustomed to wearing a dress. ''Oh, sure.'' It was smart and Sumi going off to change while she queued up made her think she should have brought a spare set of clothes too. She was so set on wanting to wear a dress today that she hadn't been able to think of anything else all morning. She took out her phone as she got a text. A message from Eiji with a picture attached, apparently he was at the park too, enjoying a drink with someone she didn't recognize. How cute. It was nice that vigilantes could come to this park and have fun as well. She looked up at the people around her. Weren't criminals permitted to Dream World? She couldn't tell who around her was a criminal, or a villain, but nothing was going to happen even if the place was full of villains, right? Japan's best heroes were overseeing this whole thing, nothing could go wrong as long as they were standing guard.

''Just in time! We're about to board.'' She quickly put her phone away and got on the water ride with Sumi as she returned. ''You look great.'' She smiled over at Sumi as the cart began to climb. There was something she wanted to say to her. Something that was much harder than just complimenting her fashion sense. She had been building up the courage all this time, but the longer their day went on the more she started to doubt she would ever get the chance to bring it up-

The ride suddenly dove as they had reached the top and was now headed straight for the bottom, their ride obscured by water as it kicked up around and over them. Hopefully she wasn't going to get too drenched.

Just as much as Freja had felt that Sumi was making her feel better about her situation, Sumi was also feeling the impact Freja had on her life. She wasn't even sure that she could recover from some of the things Freja experienced; she was very aware of how privileged she was. Silver Spoon and all that jazz. "I'll hold you to that! Or you can just show me tomorrow since I'm guessing there are a lot of things you wanna do that we can't get done in one day, yeah?"

Coming back in a much more summer-themed outfit, she would give a little twirl as Freja commented on her outfit. "You think? I got this one on sale. I didn't wanna bring too much originally, but I'm glad I did." Sumi had done a lot in her short life, but weirdly enough, a water ride like this wasn't one of them. Sure, she'd seen them on TV, but it was exhilarating to experience this for the first time! As they descended, she would throw her arms up and join the others shouting excitedly. The impact of the water made her instinctively reach out and wrap her arms around Freja for support inadvertently pulling her into a close hug. Once the ride was over and she could step out, she'd shake out her clothes the best she could. "That was so much fun!"

She'd rub her arms, feeling the chill from the water. "Maybe we can go to the flower garden next? It's a little after noon, so it might be a good chance to dry off a bit! Then...lunch?" they had been at it for a few hours now, but there was still so much that they wanted to get done!

She was pleasantly surprised when Sumi mentioned that she could show her tomorrow. She was happy that she was getting another day like this with Sumi, that meant she was having fun, right? ''Yeah tomorrow, the park's so big don't you think?'' She exhaled softly, trying to mask her blushing with a big smile. ''I can see why they made it a multi-day event.''

She giggled when Sumi did her little twirl. ''On sale? What a steal, you have a great eye for that sort of thing.'' She put her hands on her hips and nodded back at the queue to the ride, motioning for Sumi to follow her. ''Let's get on before the line gets longer.'' Even though it was her idea she could feel herself actively regretting getting on once they had reached the top and were about to fall into water. In that moment she didn't shout in excitement as they plunged. She watched with wide eyes, slightly trembling as she awaited the rush of adrenaline that would take her to the bottom. When they moved forward she braced, closing her eyes as she waited for the cold shower of water to drench them both. Then she felt something warm, Sumi pulling her into a hug. She wasn't sure if it was just instinctive, but in that moment she held onto Sumi too, feeling safe from her perceived fear of the ride even as she got splashed by water too. Although in hindsight she was lucky that more water hadn't gone on her. Especially since she hadn't been as forward thinking as Sumi and hadn't brought an extra set of clothes.

''Y-Yeah! What a rush!'' She smiled back, wringing the ends of her wet hair with her hands. ''Flower garden sounds perfect right about now. I heard the view there is amazing.'' Not that she wanted to go there for the view. The most beautiful view around was already accompanying her through Dream World. ''Sumi, I-...'' She paused, freezing up again. How many times had she practiced in front of the mirror, fearing that her roommates might have overheard her? ''I want to tell you something.. After lunch.''

The flower garden was every bit as pretty as one could imagine. There was even an offer to make customized flower crowns for a fee and she was all about it. ''Look!'' She beamed, holding up a multi-colored flower crown. ''I made you a crown.'' She almost cracked up as she continued with a terrible posh accent. ''Your highness.''

I've heard of a Pro Hero who can like control cement which is so crazy!" Says the woman who has a third lung and can make a literal smoke lounge. After the ride and shaking off some of the cold she was super pumped to go to the flower garden. They had gotten a perfect day for it, not a cloud in the sky. She wondered if that was a coincidence or if some Pro Hero was able to make that happen too.

Humming happily to herself as they made their way to the flower garden, she was a bit confused as Freja began to stammer out something. "Hm? Are you okay? Don't tell me you caught a cold from the ride!" She would place the back of her hand against Freja's forehead, only pulling away when she was satisfied that she wasn't running hot. "Oh, sure!" She didn't want to press any further as they were supposed to be there for fun!

She felt right at home the moment they got to the flower garden with her immediately gravitating towards the kikyo flowers that were planted. The sign near them did say they were free for the taking and when Sumi plucked one she was surprised when it grew back instantly. That had to be a quirk! Turning around to share this fact with Freja, she was beaten to the punch, lowering her head to let Freja place the crown. "You're so quick! I only got you this!" she would stand and place the kikyo in Freja's braid "Now the look is perfect!" right on cue her stomach would growl "Maybe I should have eaten more, you hungry?"

''Control cement? That'd do it. With quirks like that do you even need regular workers?'' She mused, thinking about her career would look like if she had a quirk of her own. Then again, her own case wasn't exactly normal either. Her and Sumi were different, but Freja had been transported into someone's body and was now inhabiting it. If that merger had never happened, would she, Freja as she knew herself, even be alive right now? She shuddered at the thought, but thankfully it was easy to put negative feelings aside when she was in such good company.

''A cold?'' Was her face that red?? The gears turned in her head, then internal panic set in. She didn't want Sumi to worry just because she was getting flustered. ''N-No I'm fine, all fine. I'm just not used to the climate here that's all!'' She smiled, trying to save face with an obvious lie. She froze up when Sumi touched her forehead. Somehow it felt different, ever since she got a crush on her it was like something in her heart started up every time they got a little close to each other. Her hand was soft and comforting, even if it was just for a brief moment. She breathed out an internal sigh of relief when Sumi let it go and they continued on their way. She couldn't lie about having a cold. No chance was she ever going to lie to Sumi.

As they passed a under an archway of trees she suddenly realized something. Wasn't she lying already? Wasn't she hiding her feelings and lying to Sumi?

Ouch.

''I've got a good eye for flowers!'' She smiled proudly as she crowned Sumi. ''A kikyo?!'' Stars were practically sparkling out of her eyes. ''How do I look?'' She asked, giddy to see how the flower looked in her braid. ''You too! Maybe we should wear flowers more often?'' She was starting to feel a little hungry herself, at least for something small. ''Sure, wanna grab a bite of something? I saw there was a bunch of food stands over that way.'' She pointed ahead through the passage they hadn't come into the flower garden from.
