[attr="class","eire"]Aneko was deep in concentration as she fiddled with a screwdriver, twisting it and monitoring each change in the tightness of the wire that looped through a device built into a pair of gloves, haphazardly connected to a spool of wire to feed into, then ejected and planted into a surface to produce the necessary tension. Being her own bit of gear, it was one of the few things outside of assignments she's been able to see through to the end. While she wasn't a part of the hero department, that didn't mean she wanted only wanted to make the equipment that'd be used on the field; she wished to be fully capable of holding her own.

Twist, twist, check. As she saw the wire softly vibrate after each adjustment, she felt herself become more and more excited that she had gotten her estimates right. This process was pretty agonizing to iterate over, despite its necessity. After all, the wire was meant to run through her outfit- if she made some mistake with the mechanism, she could cut herself to bits. What a scary thought. Twist, twist, snap! She had pushed her luck too far, the wire snapping in two, likely originating within the glove itself.

She let out a long sigh as she slumped in her chair, rolling back away from her desk, and the failure that laid atop it. Well, that was a bust! If the wires couldn't hold with that much tension, then anyone with a bit of strength could destroy the entire mechanism with a tug. Throwing the screwdriver back onto the table without a care, she decides to soak in the failure and just sit there for a moment. Not only was she putting off work that was actually important, like her assignments, but she didn't even get it right! "This blows."

"Uggggggggggggggggh damn it." Takara fiddled with the screen on her phone which wasn't responding to her touch. She was uncharacteristically frustrated because it had slipped out of her hands while sitting on her bed in the dorms. Whatever the heck the floors were made of here couldn't have been good for electronics as once it hit the surface it just froze. The screen didn't even crack! What a rip-off. She placed it on the bed beside her, lowering her head until it rested on her hands, and let out an audible sigh, shoulders slumping in response. Too boring. Too quiet. Might as well take a na- what a minute! She could get her phone fixed for free! They had support students for that exact purpose! [OOC Note: This is false.][break][break]

With renewed energy, she lept to her feet and threw on a hoodie before dashing out the door having to double back to grab her phone. Once outside her dorm, she tried to remember the map of the campus but...she hadn't paid attention during the orientation. Oof bad call on her part but nothing that could be done now! She eventually flagged down someone passing by who gave her directions and she dashed off wanting to get her phone fixed as soon as possible. She poked around the various areas until she finally found one that was occupied entering just in time to hear Aneko audibly voice her displeasure "What blows?" Takara uttered taking a step into the room to catch Aneko's attention. Looks like things were going to be a little less boring after all!

[attr="class","eire"]There was something about unexpected guests that always made Aneko jump. After all, she had become used to the silence of the labs and even found comfort in it. Maybe she'd even take a nap, which usually helps give her a mental refresh when frustrations were high, especially when she was stuck on projects. But, as soon as she lets her grievances out into the air, there was an unexpected response- and Aneko's quick to let out a scream before they can finish their inquiry. The unexpected jerk sent her leaning a little too far back, the front wheels lifting up and the back ones... well, everyone's done it before.

The chair crashes into the ground, the support student managing to tumble sideways out of it, and she lays in defeat for only a moment before picking herself up to see the culprit. Shit. It was another student; one that she hadn't seen before, too. Fucking embarrassing. "Ehm... nothing." She tries to laugh it off- picking herself up off the ground and patting off any dust that got caught on her lab coat. She quickly checks over her workspace to make sure nothing fell with her during that crash, picking up the chair whilst doing so, and confirming that her shit was still good.

Thank god.

She clears her throat as she faces the taller student, a little flustered from the display, but otherwise trying to keep her cool. "I was just working on a... personal thing. Did you need something?" They weren't a face she recognized from the support department, so maybe they were from the hero course? Sometimes they loitered around the labs, looking for anyone who'd even attempt their crazy ideas. She kind of hoped it wasn't, as she was in a bit of a slump- the kind that she gets into every like, few days. Creativity was hard, okay?

Aneko clearly being uncomfortable at Takara's sudden appearance only served to make the girl more curious. The support labs were open to anyone to visit, especially with how the school handled equipment requests being done mostly through student interaction. Seemed a bit odd to have such an adverse reaction to people when your door was open. Perhaps the more logical response but for Takara, it was just an opportunity to have fun and maybe mess with her in the process until she would share what she was working on. "Hmmmmm?" Takara approached Aneko more eagerly than before "What kind of personal thing?" her eyes darted around the lab looking for any sort of hint as to what embarrassing thing Aneko was trying to hide.[break][break]

Takara didn't recognize her from the orientation from earlier but figured there was an equally likely chance that she had just been a part of the support orientation that had gone on at the same time as their own. Unlucky for that group since whoever they were lectured by couldn't have been better than her grandfather. "Oh!" she said suddenly remembering the actual reason she had shown up, pulling out her unresponsive phone "Any chance you could help me with this?"

[attr="class","eire"]It didn't take long for the support student to make an educated guess from her first few interactions with this strange, tall girl; they were not the type of person she was good at dealing with. While she enjoyed when people could carry a conversation- it relieved a lot of the pressure she usually put on herself in social situations- but this was... a bit much. Pushy, nosy. Too close. She takes a step back as Takara approaches so suddenly, feeling her personal bubble being invaded as a storm began to travel through her lab, whatever grabbed the hero's attention sure to be a victim.

Or maybe they weren't so bad. Aneko could just be assuming the worst, and not everyone was on the same wavelength as her. The people at UAU were an odd bunch, after all, and she had to try and be accommodating to as many of them as possible. "It's nothing crazy, haha..." An awkward laugh, a gaze off to the side at the aftermath of her contraption for testing. "Just a bit of gear for myself. I was having, eh... a few issues with it." She looks at the broken gadget off to the side, before bringing her gaze back to meet the enigmatic hero.

Er, not directly. She always stared just off from their eyes, either around their nape or somewhere behind them. But what she didn't avert from was the phone that she pulled up, raising a brow. "A... phone?" She looks back up at the girl, "What? Was the repair store closed?" It was a valid question, although definitely a bit of snark. There were so many things you could ask of a support student, and you wanted them to repair your phone!? Now that was crazy.

Takara thought about taking another step forward as Aneko put more distance between the two but she figured she had done enough damage by barging in and being super nosy. Wouldn't be much fun if she kicked her out before she could figure out exactly what she was actually building. Even without an interest in most equipment, she did recognize the usefulness of it as most Pros had at least something created for them to either aid their own quirk or just their effectiveness. Something to consider for the future but for now she had a much MUCH more pressing issue [break][break]

"Oh? What does it do?" she peered over at the broken device, ignorance being shown in full display as her lack of technological aptitude shown through. Waving her hand dismissively at Aneko's question "No no no, It's just farther than coming here" she placed the device down between them in a not-so-subtle way to show that she wouldn't be going anywhere "So, can you fix it?" purposely making her eyes sparkle she would try to appeal to Anekos kindness first and if that didn't work...well she didn't want to go there.

While her approach to the support student's personal space had stopped, the questions hadn't. "It, ehm..." Well, it didn't do anything right now, considering it was broken. But maybe it didn't look broken to her. It felt a bit embarrassing to admit the device meant to handle sharp wire had broken from the wire it was meant to hold. "It's like... uh... it lets me control threads. Sharp ones. Or dull ones, I can change it..."

Talking about her own inventions felt weird. Too weird. Her voice tapered off in awkwardness as she gave a... less than satisfactory explanation of how it worked. Waving off the discussion of her own gear, she looked down towards the phone placed between the two of them. She was chosen because going to the actual repair place was... too far? But looking at Takara- did she imagine that sparkle in her eye? This was a hella awkward situation, she wanted to chew them out, but she also didn't want to say no. Partly because these pushy types usually required a bit more pushback than that, and also because it meant possibly leaving a poor impression of herself.

Did what others think of her truly matter? No, she could rationally say that she'd likely not deal with this person again in the future unless either of them sought the other out. But in her irrational mind, she didn't want to leave someone disappointed when they were relying on her, even if for such a vain reason. With a deep sigh, she holds her hand out to receive the phone as she also averts her eyes from the expectant gaze of the larger hero, "Fine, I'll take a look at it. But, if a part is busted, we might not have a replacement, 'kay?"

Like a puppet master deal?" she made a wriggling gesture with her hands to simulate a puppeteer "I can't even picture what else you could do with them" Coincidentally the way she described this gear was similar to how Takara's own quirk worked. She very much knew how effective cutting at a distance could be but she didn't really know Aneko well enough to share this fact. After all, part of her entertainment for today would be to see how much mileage she could get out of Aneko. Plus it didn't hurt that she was pretty. "Sure I gotcha!" Takara wouldn't really take no for an answer and clearly, Aneko was familiar enough with the work that she could get it done. Kind of similar, yeah, but not exactly... puppets. More like... filling a room with threads? Like those, uh... spy movies with the room full of lasers pointing every which way. But instead of lasers, it's... thread." She couldn't think of another way to describe it without resorting to media. Well, it was vivid enough of an explanation, as long as Takara knew what she was referring to.

As the girl seemed to be just fine with the idea that the phone couldn't be repaired immediately, Aneko let out a sigh of relief, believing that they'd go off elsewhere while their phone was being fixed. After all, she seemed like the outgoing type, albeit pushy- surely she had better things to do than sit around a cramped support lab during some boring repairs. But then she plants herself down with a stool, right in front of Aneko, who had only begun the process of disassembling the phone. Well, shit. At least she wasn't as bad as Sebastian had been, although she definitely was... similar. At least, that's the vibe Aneko got.

"My other inventions?" She paused for a brief moment, before going back to taking out the several small screws on the phone's backplate, using a small magnetic tray to sort them so she didn't lose track of what was what. "Well... honestly, most of what I've made has been for school projects." She hadn't gotten many personal gear requests in her time at UAU, considering she had always made it a point to not draw attention. "I made this... skateboard... for someone. Nothing super fancy, basically just a... beefed up skateboard." It sounded hella tame. She hadn't really made anything too exciting, had she?

"Ehm, enough about me! What about you, uh..." Shit, she didn't even know her name! Honestly, that was pretty similar to what happened with Sebastian. Too awkward to ask now, pivot the question! "What department are you in?"
