With Ryota going off into the crowd again Mark decided to circle to another part of the bar, a little bit more away from people. He would pop one of the pieces of ice in his mouth, crunching on it as he set the glass on the counter. "Whiskey, neat." With the number of people here, he didn't quite feel like mingling. Even if there was another cowgirl here. And in truth, he still had to give Iphi his pitch, even if he was outsourcing some of the work to someone outside the system.

Maybe that thing during Dreamworld was bothering him again. Picking up his glass once more, he took a sip as he thought about it. He was no stranger to rabble rousing, but he couldn't get into it. Maybe it was because there were too many peers here that he felt out of place. Whatever the reason, he'd stay out of the way.

"Yes! One vote for me!" Ryota did a fist pump for good measure, which was probably a hilarious image given the fact he was dressed as a fictional serial killer. "I knew I could count on you Stellar!" Did he know it was likely favouritism that got him the vote? Yes. Did he care? Absolutely not, not when there were no stakes in the impromptu competition anyway.

Which Mai didn't seem to understand. He placed a hand on his chest though, touched by her words. "Aw, thank you Mai. That's so sweet of you to say! And hey- your costume is amazing so no talking it down!" He waggled his finger in admonishment so his response sunk in better, non-the-wiser to her inner turmoil. "Besides, it's not about who's worse, it's about who's better. There's a difference."

Upon hearing the familiar name, Ryota turned to the person Mai was addressing and lo and behold, there was the shark girl. He smiled underneath his mask, then raised his arms when he realized she wouldn't see said smile. "Mar! Glad you could make it! I see you too are saddled up for a good time! Why, that's another fun comparison between you and-" Ryota paused. Right, can't have everyone address the man at once.

Instead he focused his attention back to the group and kept his voice low. "Guys, I'm worried about Mark. He wants to be alone but I don't think he's in a good headspace for it right now. I feel like we should take turns checking up on him."
