Olivia was holding half of the device she intended to steal in her arms as the alarms around both her and Djinn flared up. "I should have taken off his head." She would point to the slumped-over corpse on the wall that had somehow managed to pull the alarm to alert the whole facility. She would weigh their options with another part of the device near Elias. Sticking together increased the likelihood that she would get out of there alive, but she still wasn't 100% ready to put her faith in Djinn[break][break] "You take that piece, I'll take mine, and we'll meet back up after." She would eye him up and down, knowing that regardless of the level of trust, as long as she had one-half of the device, he couldn't just leave her hanging. She would make her way to the closest wall that she could see a vent for and would use her shoes to walk up the wall and then pop open the vent. It was tight, but she didn't need to get far, just far enough away from where the guards were converging, and then it was hit and runs all the way through. [break][break] She hoped that Elias would fine his way out. He was carrying experimental and valuable tech after all and that was about the only important thing to her at the moment.

Field work. Elias didn't like it, but he accepted it. Ouroboros was testing, pushing him to take more action. Before his time as Nirvana's owner and creator of the Hibernacula, he was trained to be ruthless. Forged to be a weapon, then was loosed unto the world to create a hub for villainy to do its business.
If Ouroboros could track the major players on this half of the globe and their dealings in Japan, they would be all the easier to leverage to the dark syndicate's own ends. But, the work had dulled those finely tuned instincts Elias once possessed, and now his benefactors were most assuredly testing him. For what, he did not know. And he hated that. But there was no denying the serpent, so he went back to work.
Red threads ensnared the tech in question and wove it against the Djinn's back. He didn't appreciate the newcomer barking out her plans without consulting him first, but it mattered little when she was already holed up in the vents.
A few guards turned a corner, their firearms still lowered, until they spotted Elias at least. Then the guns came up.
"Tsk, tsk. Is that how you greet guests?" He mused, throwing his hands forward.
There were only two of them, and they weren't the big guns. These simpletons wouldn't take much effort to put down. His crimson cords crawled up their legs, then launched upward, latching onto their arms and squeezing the men into submission. Then they drew blood, dragging against their bodies. He didn't have long, though. Soon enough, more experienced fellows with heavier weapons and trained reactions would arrive.

The tech was important, that was for sure, but her life was more valuable. If Elias died back there, then she would lose half of the tech she needed, but if it meant she’d live, she could always come back with Arsenal and raze the place to the ground.[break][break]
Pushing the grate out below her she would drop down as silently as possible. The room seemed clear when she looked around except for…crap. A camera on a swivel immediately spun around when she moved and another alarm would ring out. She was too far down to reliably make it back up to the vent she came out of, which meant a confrontation was inevitable. Striking out with her ‘Armor Piercer, ’ she would slice the camera in two solely because it annoyed her. [break][break]
Using her shoes to scale the wall she would park herself by the door where she was hearing the rush of footsteps coming from. When her assailants burst into the room they looked around confused just in time for Olivia to quip “Amateurs.” Striking around to disarm them both and then slicing open the throat of one of them. Pulling out a gun and pointing it at the other’s head, she would add, “Okay, dude. Show me the way out unless you want to go out like your buddy over there, I won’t kill you unless I have a reason to so unless whatever this place is is more valuable than your life I’d get walking.” At least with someone who works there, she wouldn’t have to risk triggering more security.

Blood splattered across the floor. The walls, too, were slicked with it. Elias discarded the corpses and turned the corner. Stealth wasn't an option, not in facilities like this. They were bound to be caught eventually, and he wouldn't sharpen his skills on a rubber whetstone.
Several men surged through the halls, but only three of the bunch split off in his direction. The others continued down another hallway, likely searching for Yingshe. If she was caught and required assistance, well, he would offer his aid in time... depending on the level of risk.
Elias whipped his hand forward again, loosing the red threads. He snatched up one man and threw him into the other two. Then, he pulled out his pistol and opened fire. The Djinn wasn't the best shot, but he didn't need to be at this range.
Bullets plucked at the men's sides and spurt up more blood, but one of the men solidified. A sheet of ice built over his flesh, and the bullets ricocheted, then fell uselessly to the floor.
He stood, more ice forming in his hands, then threw spheres of ice Elias's way. The Wish-Maker leaped aside, but the spheres burst. Minute shards slashed at his shoulder as he fell. Biting through the pain, though, Elias rolled onto his feet, then whipped his threads forward again, latching onto the man's ankles and lifting him up before slamming him into the ground. He wasn't dead yet that much was clear, but Elias was putting the hurter on him.

It was always like this for these high tech facilities. Even back home any break ins usually turned into a massive headache but that was back when she had a crew to work with...which if you really stretched it you could call Djinn an ally. Maybe.[break][break] "Nope don't even try it. Done this hundreds of times before man." She was able to see the trick he was about to pull by hitting an emergency call button as if it were the keypad to open the door to the next room. She would pull out her handgun and cock the hammer back placing it firmly against the man's skull. "So what's the code to open the door?" The man would stammer out a set of numbers, and Olivia's eyes would narrow. "Code you use to call security discreetly? You have 5 seconds." The man was clearly caught off guard by this and whether he had faked the first set of numbers or not Olivia wasn't going to take a chance. The brains of the man splattered the wall a moment later as she pushed his corpse into the corner.[break][break] She would stop to take inventory of her current arsenal before entering the numbers the man provided and surely enough...yup another alarm. This was exactly why she didn't trust people; you take quirks out of the equation and all of a sudden they're a lot more careful with their lives. Still, it was clear she wouldn't get out without a fight and arming all of her weapons she'd charge into the next room.[break][break]
It was a massacre.

The alarms screeched in Elias’s ears like nails across the chalkboard. He winced at the offense but wouldn’t recoil or lose his focus. The frigid guard effaced all damage, covering himself in a growing sheet of ice. And it didn’t stop with his flesh. The ice froze over the red threads of fate and reached for the Wish-Maker.
Okay, this time Elias recoiled. He pumped his arms back and disconnected the threads he had used in his assault from his fingertips. He spun back, lashing at his attacker with more threads. Newly spun cords swept across the hall and slashed at the iceman’s armor, but he was a train plowing through the track. Nothing was getting in his way.
The air evacuated Elias’s lungs as he was tackled back, the iceman’s shoulder crashing into him center-mass. Pain sparked, then burst in his back as the iceman thrust him into a wall, the metal giving way to a large hallow in Elias’s shape. A bundle of threads cushioned the tech he carried as best he could.
Nickel touched Elias’s tongue in a viscous liquid—his blood. More guards streamed into the hall. Two brought their rifles to bear while a third grew a bony spike from his hand, then spun it around his wrist and latched onto it like a throwing spear. Luck came only in Elias’s position, shielded by his own attacker.
Things were looking Grim, but Elias was the master of fate. Every urge was defiance. It impeding his veins and behind his mask, he bared his teeth.
“Death parade!” He shouted
A sea of red threads flooded the hall, pouring out of the Wish-Maker’s back, his hands, arms, legs, everywhere. And in this red sea, the countless cords latched onto the guards and squeezed each man to a pulp.
The iceman remained, building layers upon layers of ice over himself in defense. No matter how hard the threads squeezed, they couldn’t break through. There was more than one way to skin a cat. In the mess of blood and wire, some of Elias’s threads snatched up the bone spear and then plunged it through the waves. The spear stabbed into the iceman's back and thrust out his gut.
“That’s enough of that,” Elias growled, confidence and blood-soaked victory weaved into his words.
The iceman dropped, and the threads receded. Elias fell to, though only to a knee. This was fate’s tax, one he was all too willing to pay. But he would need a moment now before sprinting back into action.

With the corpses of nearly a dozen men littering the ground before her, she had managed to somehow get by with minor injuries. It was likely that Elias was dealing with whatever heads of security they had in this place; these guys couldn't have been the best of the best; otherwise, she'd probably be dead. She would tear off a piece of clothing from one of the corpses and wrap it around the spot on her shoulder where she was grazed by one of the bullets. Painful? Sure but nothing she hadn't experienced before. At least this way, she didn't have to fight against a quirker.[break][break] "I'm sure Djinn will probably double the favor I owe him after this." She would take the piece of machinery off her back for a moment and inspect it. Whatever it was made of, it was durable as it had no scratches. If it really could do what her intel said it could then it was well worth it. Taking out her burner phone she would send Djinn a quick text 'I'm almost out. Respond if you're still alive.' Once she had caught her breath, she would push herself away from the wall and take whatever spare ammunition and weapons she could find on the corpses. She was almost free, she just needed to get through one last room.[break][break]

Fire seared Elias's lungs with every breath. The years had not been kind, dulling the once-sharp edges of combat effectiveness. To think his years as a teenager were populated by honed training and assassination. Not, he was a club owner... and not the warrior he had once been.
The buzz in his pocket stole his attention. He dug his phone out and scanned over Yingshe's text.
[We're going with plan B, head to the sewers.]
He thumbed the send button, and the message was away. She was a survivor, that was for certain, but he needed killers. Stone-cold killers unafraid of enemy numbers. Maybe this new piece of equipment would service her to that end.
The threads that comprised his suit swung the machinery around for inspection. Like Olivia's, this half of the gear was almost entirely undamaged, touched by a few scruffs and scratches but nothing more.
"Some good news," he murmured, then rose to his feet.
With a hand's flourish, a golden cane appeared, formed from the one wish he could make for himself--Fate Weaver's threads and golden rod. There would be more enemies on the way, perhaps even more heavily armed, and he had no intention of sticking around.
Elias made for the closest stairwell and started down.

She wasn't exactly a clean freak but realistically who liked being covered in grime? Hopefully not Elias since she intended to get in and out as fast as possible.[break][break] 'Heard.' She would text back before putting her phone away. Freedom was so close, but she'd make a right turn and head into a nearby stairwell to make her way down. It was likely that there would be a decent amount of guards surrounding the building once they realized they couldn't stop either of them and Olivia, caught up in this thought, couldn't help but agree that Elias was making the smart call.[break][break] Two flights later, and she'd enter the sub-basement. Regardless of how Elias intended to get into the sewer, she needed to alert him to her position, and without the layout, she had something she could use - a timed bomb. Thanks to Bakuretsu, she had managed to snag some explosives, and this one was on the smaller side. It would be able to blow a hole in most things but wouldn't compromise any supports as the last thing she needed was the building to fall on her. Placing it on the wall closest to a drain, she would detonate it after moving into cover and, sufficiently happy with the results, would drop down. All that was left was waiting for Elias to catch up.

Silence. It filled the stairwell. Not a marching boot in sight... or earshot, really. Elias dropped from one floor to the next with zero opposition. Either the remaining guards were searching their attackers' last known location, or they were committing to defense in hopes of heading the intruders off.
The odds favored the latter. But, like all defenses through history, the plan would crumble under the scrutiny of an unexpected offense. They couldn't defend exits they didn't know existed. Facilities such as these use all sorts of harmful chemicals in their experimentation, research, and development. And where did these chemicals always end up? Down in the muck.
He dreaded the idea. Even adorned in his threaded villain attire, thankfully, it cost him only the time it took to weave; the idea of rummaging through the mess below the building was not appealing. It beat fighting a small army, though.
The clatter of his boots echoed up and down the stairwell, then went silent. He reached the bottom floor. The door creaked open as he slowly moved through the threshold. Then a muffled boom rang from somewhere on the level, accompanied by the slightest shutter in the ground.
It was quiet enough, but someone might have heard it. No more time. Elias rushed in the direction, sprinting through the sub-level. He sprung around a corner, and there it was. His way out.
Yingshe stood at the gaping maw she had blown into the sewers. "Nice job, my dear," he said, crossing into their grotesque exit. "Now, I do believe we've overstayed our welcome. Best we vacate with immediate promptness," he spoke in nearly a whisper, starting down the sewage line.
