[attr="class","header2"]OVERVIEW
» NAME: Lucas Rydell
» AGE: 36
» GENDER: Male
» AFFILIATION: Vigilante
» ALIAS: Alter Ego
» OCCUPATION: Owner of LuCorp
[attr="class","body"]
Lucas has many faces that he wears, but it is all to cover up his intense social anxiety. He doesn't understand how to talk to people, how to truly connect and make friends. Trusting someone is hard, but when he actually finds true friends, he would genuinely do almost anything for them. He's been burned hard in the past by people looking to abuse his trust, and it's only made his fears worse.
In public, he feels forced to put on an act. While he's quite financial savvy and more than adept enough at business, he's found many aspects of it all to be a petty game. Shady deals and politics are something he despises, but he's forced to partake in it all if he wants to truly help people, playing the devil's own game.
And yet, there's another layer to Lucas. He's not content to just sitting by with money, doing what he can by funding projects and operating his company. It's never been about the money, it has always been about helping people. He sacrifices everything for his vigilantism, viewing the Professional Hero Business as morally corrupt as a whole.
As Alter Ego, Lucas takes on a whole new mindset. He's confident, playfully cocky, and sarcastically banters with villains as he fights. And while it is an adrenaline rush like nothing else, it all has a higher purpose. That mask is supposed to be a symbol of hope, something he'll never give up on.

Lucas is a tall, thin indivdual who has worked hard to build some useable muscle. However, they are often hidden behind fine suits for business, or long-sleeve clothing for casual wear. They are rarely ever exposed, finding comfort in the sensation of plentiful fabric around them, influenced by their quirk. Either way, most of their clothing is typically fairly expensive.
Blonde shoulder-length hair, incredibly soft and well-kept rests atop his head. Paired with that, his skin is often equally as smooth, no stranger to salons, spas. He even gets proper pedicures and manicures, more than comfortable in his own skin, and unashamed to take care of himself.
However, the most notable aspect of his appearance is none of those things. His eyes are strikingly unique, the iris itself swirling with hues of blue like a shimmering rainbow. Energy often crackles through them, especially whenever he uses his quirk, with a brilliant shining glow. Specially made lenses are often upon his face, although he can see well enough without them.

Lucas was born in Sweden as the only child of the Rydells, an incredibly wealthy family of some deserved infamy. Back when quirks started becoming apparent, his ancestors had founded a multitude of businesses to capitalize on the new rising threats. From Insurance over Quirk-based accidents, to Real Estate, purchasing ruined homes and businesses from the confrontations to then rent, they made an absolute fortune, even if it did profit off of the misfortune of others. His parents continued to oversee these multitude of businesses, absolutely spoiled rotten from their own parents.
Lucas was never exposed to these truths as a child. He was far more entranced by the stories of worlds beyond his own to recognize any of the absurdities of his upbringing. As a child, he watched Sentai shows in his family's private theater and read ancient comic books about superheroes whenever they went to the vacation home in the mountains. He grew to love the idea of heroes, of becoming something greater, helping others. His ideals shaped by the media he consumed, in comparison to the flimsy moral backbones of his parents.
And yet as he aged, Lucas realized just how different he truly was from everyone else he knew. All his parents cared about was spoiling themselves further with their riches, and Lucas's private school was filled with kids who all thought they knew better, or hated his own family for no other reason than their parents said they should. It was a tough time, and he grew to isolate, never truly reaching out.
His fascination with heroes never truly faded as he grew. The ideals of teamwork, hope, and peace for all settled deep inside his heart, truly wanting to make a difference. He immediately expressed his idea to become a hero to his parents as a young boy, who simply thought it was the best possible PR they could ever get. He was immediately hired as his first job at 15 at some top hero agencies in the area. It was like a dream came true. Sure, he mostly helped clean up the agency, organize paperwork and other busy work, but he genuinely loved it. It made him feel like he was making a difference, even if his parents used the connections for more PR stunts.
If only dreams could be real.
Lucas was witness to the behind the scenes of the Hero Business. Of how many "Heroes" acted off screen. While there were some that were truly good, inside and out, he encountered so many that had his heart slowly breaking. Some were rude and mean to people, others cared only about the cash and making more money, and others still seemed to care only about the fame being a Hero brought them.
It made him sick to his stomach, his entire naive worldview shattering. He quit, lied and said to his parents that he wanted to found his own business instead, and went off to get business education. He was lost, feeling as if somehow the stories of his youth that he loved so much had somehow lied to him. That people's greed and lust for power had infiltrated what he had hope was the a holy bastion of goodness. He floated through life for a few years, lost without purpose.
It wasn't until a history class in college reminded him of the Vigilante Era that he seemed to heal. Ordinary people, average citizens, stepping out to do the right thing, solely because they thought they should. Society adapted for them to become official "Heroes," but that didn't deny their origins. And he immediately knew what he was going to do.
He was going to become a vigilante, do what was right. No laws telling him who is beyond reach, no money involved to tell him how to do his job, only his own mind, his gut, and his heart could tell him what to do.
Graduating from college, Lucas started his own company with loans from his parents almost right away, Lucorp. A business dedicated to solutions for those who need it the most. Cheap, affordable prosthetic limbs, mechanical exoskeletons to help those paralyzed continue to move, slim yet powerful electrical wheelchairs and other mobility aids. As soon as he got it off the ground, Lucas immediately hit the road to train, even as he continued to manage the company, living a double life right from the get go.
Lucas traveled across Europe, both publicly and secretly, attempting to learn and train for his real passion, being a Hero. He fought in the streets of France against bank robbers with nothing more than a basic mask over his head, hiked across mountains to build up his energy, learned to fight studying under martial artists, and secretly practiced his quirk as often as he could. It was as if he was finally living, even when he was injured.
Doing the right thing.
Eventually, after many years of wandering vigilantism, and managing a business out of his phone and his suitcase, he finally returned back to society when he felt he was finally ready. It took him a long time to figure out where to settle and to properly expand his business and his vigilante career, but in the end he came to Japan. Tokyo was filled with Professional Heroes left, right and center, thanks to U.A.U.
He couldn't help but think that it needed more real heroes, with nothing to gain and everything to lose. And for the other true Heroes, the ones who fought for truth, justice, and love for all despite everything? No matter who they were, he looked forwards to working with them.
Whether they wanted him to or not.

QUIRK NAME: Psychic Touch
QUIRK RANK: A+
QUIRK TYPE: Emitter
QUIRK DESCRIPTION: A powerful psychic field emanates from Lucas's body, but only within an few inches of his body. Once something enters that radius, typically through physical contact, Lucas has telekinetic control over it. Able to lift, bend, toss, and crush objects with nothing but his thoughts just as typical Telekinesis could. Often mistaken as super Strength due to the physical limitations however, but effectively acts quite similar.
The control over objects within his field is incredibly precise, with a variety of potential applications. He's able to unscrew and take apart objects with his quirk, so long as he has general idea of how to do so, or telekinetically cling to things he touches.
Upon usage of his quirk, his eyes glow with a bright light of energy. With extreme usages of his quirk, the psychic field briefly becomes visible, glowing with the same bright blue energy like an aura.
QUIRK DRAWBACKS: Notably, Psychic Touch requires Lucas to be close to an object. Once it leaves the radius, he immediately loses all control over it. While it technically can be used to assist in the deflection of attacks, his quirk is activated purely upon thought. If caught off guard, or hit faster than his body can react, he is completely exposed. Distractions are particularly effective, just one single second without focusing on his quirk, drops his control.
On top of this, Lucas is truly only good at manipulating solid matter. Liquids are incredibly hard to manipulate. At best he can brush away rain with intense focus, but certainly can't save himself from a fire hose of pressure. Gases and plasma are pretty much impossible, leaving him extremely vulnerable to fire, energy, or gas based attacks. His psychic control can only stretch so far over particularly large objects as well, his mind unable to focus on every inch all at once without leaving himself vulnerable and unaware of the rest of his surroundings.
Overuse of his quirk leaves Lucas with head-splitting migraines and intense blurry vision as the glow refuses to fade.
