Small things like what she was doing now, the little proofs of existence she left all around, helped her come to terms with just how little of her would be left when it was all said and done. How little of anything anyone would remember. Paradoxically, she liked to believe she lived in the present. Taking memories was just a pastime, or an addiction that she indulged in. Everything else lacked more reason that "it feels good."

Thea rose from her seat. Without finishing her task or even considering putting the books back, she walked around the table toward where Jun was sitting. The mentat's fingertips slid gently across the table as she approached, clearly indicating her intent to grab the redhead again and finish what she started.[break][break]

"Honor isn't real. If you die, that's it. Sure, it might have been for a good cause or whatever, but they're still dead. I can't keep the dead, only the living. I look for terrible fates not because I honor them but because they're exciting. Well, they are when the person is still alive after." She stopped next to Jun, just close enough the be at the edge of her personal space. "So I'll ask again. What happened to you? Out at sea, who threw the lightning at you? She needed to get back to her studies, to get moving on all that again, but Thea obviously had other plans. As she started to make her way around the table Jun got back up from her chair, anxiety starting to spike yet again. And those words..."That's...that's awful! And also doesn't make any sense, why else would you incorporate that kind of thing into your life? I mean..." she looked down for a moment, remembering a lot of the history she ever studied and the mountains and mountains of stories she had ever consumed. "Tragedy like that is something like a snapshot, a view into a person's life and their decisions...what they stood for, who they were felled by, the greater good versus evil that we face every day. It shouldn't be something to be glorified, but acknowledged and learned from." And the fact that this girl wanted to know all about Jun's traumatic experience, especially for all the reasons she claimed it for, meant that Jun had to keep her beyond arms length. One of her rings glowed as she took a half step back, swallowing hard. "You wrapped your weird tentacle-y brain things into a place I didn't want you being in. I'm sorry, but I'm not comfortable going into detail what happened. If you really want to know what happened you can go pick up a magazine or something and learn from that, there's been at least three different stories on it." She grit her teeth.
