[attr="class","header2"]OVERVIEW
» NAME: Vanessa Star
» AGE: 25
» GENDER: Female
» AFFILIATION: Villain
» ALIAS: Star Power, Cherrybomb
» OCCUPATION: Former Rockstar, Petty Criminal
[attr="class","body"]
Vanessa isn't a villain because she likes the labels, she's a villain because she hates them. The only thing you can become when wanting to diverge from the normal, restrictive society is a villain. There wasn't an inherent need to kill nor an altruistic presence within her soul. She was punk because she was the disruptor businessmen always claim to be. It wasn't for riches, though she had a soft spot for being idolized from a distance.
Key word, distance. She doesn't like up-close attention. She wants to be admired, respected as a SYMBOL. The respect she wants is not desired from the kind where a person is adored as a hero or feared as some reviled villain. She wants to be a ROCKSTAR, one that creates big and beautiful explosions and raw expressions of her quirk. True expression didn't adhere to rules, nor did it adhere to some definition of consistency.
In that way, Vanessa is flawed. She owns her lack of conviction in a way of life, her selfishness to want to live how she wants to. There is no greater purpose for other than to make something beautiful of her hazardous quirk and reckless art. She'll wake the dead with her music and add to its numbers with the eruption of corporate, sanitized hero society. Aside from her flimsy anarchist tendencies, she really likes to party and doesn't mind the party favors.
Vanessa is the definition of "don't wanna talk, I just want to dance" when it comes to partying. When she does want to talk, she LOVES hearing herself do it. She likes to keep a fit body as crimes take athleticism. Seeing the world has always been a part of her being and she isn't quiet about what she enjoys.

» HEIGHT: 5'11"
» WEIGHT: 160 lbs.
» EYE COLOR: Blue/Gray
» HAIR COLOR: Cherry Red
» SKIN COLOR: Light Tan
» FACE CLAIM NAME: Vi
» FACE CLAIM SERIES: League of Legends
Vanessa has what she likes to call "punk style" which involves ironically dressing like she has some formality and in colorful clothing. Most of it is stolen or second-hand, but she gives off the appearance of being put together. With winged hair that seems permanently cherry-red as a by-product of her quirk, she has been given the nickname of "Cherrybomb" for the overall appeal she has. Her fashion overall has some genderfluid approach. Is it because of her tastes or being broke? Who knows?
Otherwise, Vanessa has a rather built body. Her hands are rough and calloused from musical instruments and various spots along her skin from accidents relating to her quirk. She is tattooed with machinery-like symbols that show how she's broken away from being another cog. There is a variety of piercings she wears on her ears and face, which she thankfully keeps religiously clean to avoid infection. If she's without her piercings, she's practically dead.
While she isn't truly classical by any means, she finds a way to dress to a higher standard. Vanessa might be a rebel, but she was still privileged and would find a way to make patches as fashionable as possible. Her lips are peachy, her preferred color being red like her hair and she tries to keep her makeup as subtle as possible. Despite the dichotomy of her personality and fashion, she doesn't hide her scars and wears them like a badge of honor.
Most of them are self-inflicted, but scars are still cool-looking.

When you hate the AM, when you hate the PM; there's nothing you can do but rock. At least, that's what burnout Vanessa Star thought when she graduated into broken adulthood. She knew early on she'd never be accepted because she wanted to let her quirk run free and express herself artistically in the truest sense. Good grades? University? Who needs 'em!? Vanessa was born a Star and would continue to be one until the day she died.
Vanessa was born and raised in England to a well-off but frugal family. They were so up-tight and protective that they ended up being fuel to her anarchist fire. What made her this way was a friend from an early age that she used to take piano lessons with introduced her to punk rock. This friend, Helena, would begin rattling off all the thoughts she had about society between the supposed good of heroes to the misunderstood bad of villains and how suffocating it was.
Well, a Hero's collateral damage killed that friend and it didn't break Vanessa, but it filled her with the only bit of true determination. An oath was sworn in the name of Helena: don't follow the silly rules of society and burn what you want to burn. Protect what you want to protect. Do it because you care, not because you're supposed to care. Lastly, don't succumb to the brainwashing of Universities and laws. Vanessa stewed on this until she neared adulthood, becoming loud as ever and rebellious. A burnout was born.
Her parents knew how she felt, so when they no longer were responsible for her...she was given three measly months to figure out if that was her final choice. She gave it three days of thought before hijacking a guitar from the closest music store and taking what she wanted. There was no nobility in her rise to fame as a musician, so of course there was no structure or security in it either. A mid-level musician who didn't want to adhere to the industry wasn't going to make it far or make much money.
Either way, the band she slapped together through a bundle of miscreants would last two years before they tried to rob her. Robbing someone who had a knack for making things explode wasn't a good idea, none of them were very skilled and she let their last gig end with a bang. From there, she had no one. All she could do was become a petty criminal and scrape by. Clearly, this wasn't going to work. She aspired to be her own person, but she needed a fresh start.
Of course, she was laughed out of the Firms she tried joining. On the last, they wouldn't just laugh at her...they'd bundle her up and ship her to Japan. With no paperwork, no wealth, she had to manage being an outsider in the land of the Yakuza and the richest concentration of great heroes, villains and vigilantes all aspiring to be their own form of Plus Ultra. Petty crimes were quiet, but it left Vanessa hungry for more.
It left Vanessa hungry for being Starpower. The problem would remain that she had no discipline, no purpose other than a vague need to be great. If she was going to be someone to be rememembered, she needed to be more than an untamed animal. She needed to grow up.

QUIRK NAME: Rockstar
QUIRK RANK: C+
QUIRK TYPE: Emitter
QUIRK DESCRIPTION: Vanessa possesses the power to imbue the sound of music into any object she touches. It begins with a quiet melody, but the louder it grows the more volatile it becomes. This is indicated by a tone shift into more colors from anywhere on the spectrum. It can, either by choice or by it exceeding Vanessa's control, elevate to a point where the energy used to bring music to the object imbued becomes so volatile that it explodes.
This will either cause the object itself to erupt or if the energy is not strong enough, creates a shockwave expelling from what it was imbuing. If multiple objects are imbued by the Rockstar energy, they can either resonate to stabilize each other or make each other more volatile to either slow or speed up the escalation of the music and eventual explosion.
Vanessa's appearance changes in color according to the colors expressed through Rockstar as if there was a sort of filter on her.
QUIRK DRAWBACKS: -The larger the target object is, the slower it is for the energy to build up and less likely it is to cause damage until it eventually becomes ineffective from being too diluted.
-The more resistant the vessel of Rockstar is or the more diluted the energy is, the weaker the explosion. The most power comes from more fragile, smaller objects.
-The more fragile something is, the less time it can withstand Rockstar before exploding.
-Overuse of this quirk causes Vanessa's senses to be hypersensitive, making it easy to disorient or overstimulate her.
-People cannot be bombs!
