Attending UAU sure wasn't easy. There were the lectures, the physical exercises, the fact that she was quirkless and would have to work harder than her peers to keep up. Leonid had even put her in touch with Ana, in the hopes that the young genius support student could make some gear for her that would help close the gap between her quirkless self and her quirked peers. On top of all that, they were dealing with something that was much harder to tackle, something they had to carry with them every day, every moment that they were awake.

Gender identity.

Being a guy stuck in a woman's body, it wasn't an easy feeling. Coupled with the fact that the woman was their twin sister... Needless to say, Elias was conflicted. Conflicted about everything. Why had he been brought back to life like this? Was his sister alive? Could he even enjoy life like this?

Oh, it was his turn in the queue.

Grabbing a tray Freja drifted out of their negative thought spiral and got their serving of food before exiting the queue to find a table. Worrying about all those personal matters wasn't going to help anyway, she had enough to worry about just staying in school. Although it was hard to digest, hard to process. Was Freja a man or a woman? Were they neither? Both? Perhaps it was walking with their head down that made them look more susceptible, with the tray of food blocking their view of their feet, Freja tripped over something and promptly spilled her food all over the floor and herself. A few people around her laughed. Someone even called out to her mockingly. ''Just use your quirk, idiot!'' She didn't see who said it. Not that it mattered, Freja couldn't fight people who had quirks. She should never even have admitted to being quirkless in the first place.

Bottling up her anger she let out a sigh and began wiping food off the floor with her tissues. ''What a shame, perfectly good food wasted.'' She felt a few tears sneak up on her, but she quickly blinked them away. Turning to look up she caught a glimpse of someone approaching. ''E-Excuse me! Be careful don't walk here I spilled my lunch!'' The last thing she needed was to get another person caught up in her mess.

Auden was a lot less popular than he thought he was going to be. In the modelling world, he was someone that people wanted to work with, someone that people may have been idolized. Now, it seemed that there was a tension in the air around him, and perhaps the idea that he was a teacher's younger brother made it seem like he was going to get some special treatment. It wasn't the case, but it was hard not to have people talk about you like that when it was something they didn't know much about themselves.

Seeing someone trip and get food all over themselves, Auden's heart sank. Ah, to be as clumsy as that, poor thing. Rather than sitting around to laugh and mock them though, Auden would approach, careful of his steps, and offer them a napkin. Trying to pick up some of the food with some more of his napkins, he'd tuck his hair behind his ear and watch them struggle. "Ah, don't worry about me, are you okay?" A gentle smile, and an offer of his hand would be given to Freja. If he was wanting to make friends, perhaps he was just needing to befriend the outcasts and misfits like himself.

She froze the moment Auden handed her a napkin. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Genuine kindness, it wasn’t just some kind of trick to get her to lower her guard? Who even was this person? Were they a man or a woman? For some reason at that moment she wasn’t sure. With their wings and how the light filtered in from above to illuminate their features, Freja couldn’t help but think Auden was a guardian angel.

“I’m…” she took the napkin, but her hand remained still for a moment. “I’m fine.” She looked down and began wiping food off her shirt. Auden’s smile was so gentle and yet strong enough to the point that she couldn’t look directly at them for too long. “Thank you.” She took their hand as it was offered. “I’m Freja Helt.” The quirkless misfit who had made herself a target ever since orientation day. “Uh, from the Department of Heroes.” Was Auden a misfit like her? “Who are you?” She would finally ask when she had her food and they helped her off the floor.

“You do realize what this means, right?” She didn’t mean to sound rude, but she was still a little surprised anyone came to her aid. “Helping someone like me. How people will view you because of it.” If they didn’t, this would be an easy out for Auden. No hard feelings or anything, school was all about survival and Freja wasn’t looking to drag anyone down with her.

"Good." Auden hated to see people at their lowest points, especially when he knew that it was very much preventable. Trying to find your little niche in college and university was always something that he saw in movies, but he realized that it was true in the real world too. People so easily got under one another's skin and put others down for no other reason than their own self-entitlement.

Pulling her up, Auden would make sure that she was on her feet before letting her hand go. "I'm also from the Department of Heroes! I'm Auden Verchetty." He only hoped that people didn't know his brother and connected the dots, but it was clear that it was going to happen sooner or later.

He'd look around at her comment, seeing a few people stare at him. He'd shrug. "I don't care." If he was a bit more of a whore right now, he'd have said that he was sure he could sleep with most of them. "I'm here to meet good people and have fun, if someone sees me and doesn't want to be close to me, it's their loss." He was rich, pretty, and actually pretty nice! "I help people- it's what I'm good at, and I'll do the same for you."

Auden had such a particular aura about them. She couldn't describe it, but she knew they were a strong person, even if they weren't the most buff student in this cafeteria. Maybe it was the way they carried themself. ''Auden Verchetty?'' She pondered for a moment. ''Your last name sounds familiar somehow. Are you from Europe?'' There was no way a name like that wasn't going to stand out in Japan, especially to someone like Freja who had moved here very recently. ''Then we'll probably see each other in class.'' She smirked.

''That's a great attitude to have!'' She let out a small chuckle, they said it so boldly too, she didn't doubt for a second that Auden really meant it, that it really would be their loss if they didn't like them. ''I appreciate it.'' Part of her felt like she was a burden, but Auden hadn't told her to fuck off yet, so it couldn't be all bad. If their goal was to genuinely help people, she didn't want to just trample all over that because of her own insecurities either. ''Listen, uh..'' She wasn't sure how to ask what she wanted to next. It was a bit awkward, or at least it potentially was. ''I've been wondering, what are your pronouns?'' It had been in the back of her mind and she simply couldn't tell from their androgynous expression! Either way she was cool with their answer, she just didn't want it to upset Auden, since she knew some people didn't like being perceived as androgynous, for whatever bigoted reason.

"Oh, my brother works here, maybe he's one of your teachers?" Auden wasn't sure how well known he was since he had just started out not too long ago. "And yeah! The name is Italian. Some of my family is from Italy." He wasn't going to say that his good for nothing father was, as that wasn't really a good mood to set right now.

"I mean, having someone like you in my class makes me happy. I haven't had the easiest time making friends lately, surprisingly." At his agency, he was well-known for being flamboyant, charismatic and helpful. At school though, he hadn't ran into a lot of situations where he could show that side of himself, or even people that he thought would want to see that side of him.

When asked about his pronouns, Auden tilted his head. "Oh, well..." A glance to the side, before he realized that yes, he wasn't clearly male or female. "I don't really care what you use to address me to be honest. I'm most used to he/him, but really? Couldn't care less." A shrug, before he put his hands in the pockets of his uniform. "I don't care too much to label myself, or the idea that I can't be all of them. Genderfluid, I think is what they call it." Looking Freja over, he'd pop one of his hips out before replying. "And you, what're your pronouns? I don't want to assume anything, especially when you've been so nice to me."
