The pain wasn't as severe, which was a good thing considering she was going to be training a small group for pride and the like at the end of the semester. This meant that she could spend a few hours a week in training them up, which was going to be fantastic. She was excited for that. Which gave her a lot of ideas. There were a lot of students at UA, and while she could easily learn about Gen's team she figured the best thing to do for her group was a little bit more intense. On top of Freja, who Jun was going to groom extensively to ambush and give her team a hard time ("Expect the unexpected, and be careful of the person you don't know the full extent of!"), she also had the idea of extending her training sessions to others for the purpose of pitting them against her team. The more experience they had in dealing with a variety of quirks, either as a team or by themselves, they'd be more versatile and accustomed to dealing with anything and everything thrown at them. Which, to Jun, was the greater takeaway of this exercise. Even if her pride was on the line. Today she was grooming a student for other purposes, too; she had a fascination for all quirks that created constructs, and this Leo guy was no exception to the rule. So she found his contact info, shot him a message to meet her at Ground Gamma, and sat up on the pipes in her track suit and spinning her rings. Leo Kaiser

Mostly because he didn't want to show up but had been forced to by the professor who found him around and asked him for even more boring work. So there he was fifteen minutes late approaching the other student around ground Gamma with his usual school suit and tie. Didn't even bother to change. He wasn't taking that shit seriously at all. He needed no training. He fought people for real most his early life. Some of them were beaten to a vegetable, others remained horribly crippled. Such was the brutality of the illegal fight ring he was forced into joining so many years ago. People there wanted to see blood and violence and were willing to pay big and bet even bigger. "You uuuh... Jun something?." He mumbled, hoping he was wrong so he could go back to his room and lounge about doing something else entirely. "From the message. The one supposed to train me or something?" He was ready to do what he always did, go through the motions with barely enough effort to get by, wait for the bell and hightail outta there. "So like... what am I supposed to do anyway? Do I have to beat you or something, why did you pick me out of all of the other first years?" Leo inquired, still pretty much standing there doing nothing. He was waiting for answers but she could also keep her secrets if she wanted to. He was just going to dump her there if she remained silent for too long.

This was not going to bode well for the upcoming session, and this made her consider if he was even worth exposing her team to in the long run. She wouldn't know that until she saw what he was capable of. "Junsuina Kanjo," she says, standing up from her perch. "You're late, unprepared, and asking too many questions." She took in a sharp breath as she turned, pain shooting up her arm. It was a bad idea to be doing something like this here and now, but she had already made her bed. "And no. Your quirk interests me, and I want to see how you use it." She pointed to the other end of the grounds, which he no doubt couldn't see. "I want you to get from here to the other side of the field within the next two hours. Do you think you can handle that?" Leo Kaiser

Get from point A to point B in an exhorbitant amount of time? That was the training? Did seem more of an excuse to look at his powers, no matter. He didn't have to hide his strenght. Not with other students anyway. Very few were even capable of handling his suppressed state at this point, if this lady was able to entertain him enough perhaps he could go back to the dorms after a giggle or two. "Very well then. I will do this training of yours. Sounds easy enough. I'm free to go once I reach the end I assume. Better get to it then. Count me off, will ya. From 10." If she wanted to see his quirk in action then he would just give her the same thing he gave everyone, a look into the deep. He pretty much spoke the next thing with a light grin and a little more want behind his actions the moment the count reached two, standing defiantly to full height as wisps of darkness appeared around him and coalesced into a slick black bodysuit around himself.  "Here goes." He stood at the ready, the air around him heavier and colder. The moment the time was up all that was left of the white haired student was a cloud of dust.

She let out a sigh, looking down at her rings. Yep, all the stones were in place, and she still had her emergencies in the back. "Alright, if you insist." Needless to say, she was disappointed. She was hoping for some kind of suspicion, or maybe some questions, or something along those lines, but nope. The last time she tested herself navigating the tight spaces of Gamma, it took her somewhere in the ballpark of forty minutes; there were places that made it hard to move, and it was easy to get lose. He should have been flabbergasted at the time limit. Guess he had to learn the hard way then. "Ten." A pinprick of light would appear in the darkness ahead of Leo, and before he knew it a hammer would fly out to greet him, flattening against his chest as an opening sucker punch. The construct, made up of almost pure light, would break apart on impact, the pieces turning to dust as she moves around a pipe she was standing near, launching herself into the jungle beyond. "For the record," she calls out, "I didn't say 'go'." Leo Kaiser

Mostly because it looked like pure light, so it may have weakened the strenght of his protective, quirk-created suit. So that was the catch. Alright then. Could have just said they were fighting. Clever though. She got a free hit in. That was going to be her last. Light quirks. Why did it always have to be light quirks. He skid on the floor before twisting his body back on a three point pose to arrest his momentum. He didn't care much for her remark, but did offer a reply. Though... it was mostly spoken at no one given the lady decided to dip after her free hit. "Okay. I think I understand. Anything goes then? Anything goes." He stood at the ready once more, using his legs to push himself back upright. He extended a hand forward and a tear in space formed. From that black rift, he slowly pulled out a rapier made of pure darkness, the blade of the weapon flickering as if engulfed in dark flames. He brandished the weapon. "Mal sehen, wie lange es dauert, bis ich dich schlage." He spouted in mother tongue before swiping his sword in a wide arc in front of him, causing anything in a 40 degree angle to suddenly get cut by flash of dark energy. This was just a training field, he needed not to consider collateral. He could pretty much raze the entire thing to the ground if it meant scoring a win.

The arc cut through a section of piping and other supports, causing a series of crashes and other destruction in its wake that Jun suddenly had to contend with. Her instincts kicked in, and forcing herself deeper into the forest avoided most of the debris. Insane, she thinks, adjusting herself as she moves in to a position to catch a glimpse of him. Potential, but he's not thinking. But I can use this to my advantage. If she could keep him in that position can cause his start to be difficult then that'd tack on time he'd have to regain once he started advancing forward. She could live with this. She had his general location, and so she could have a little fun. Taking a breath, she'd conjure up fairly large cannon a good twenty feet away from her, aimed at the start. The old naval gun would stick out to him as the guns would poke through the pipes, aimed in his direction, and she'd fire. She didn't expect a direct hit, or even a near miss, but she wanted him to do that again where the cannon was. Meanwhile, she'd continue to move deeper, intending to set herself up into an ambush position... Leo Kaiser

There was little reason to engage with the shenanigans of the orher person there. If anyhrinf, her challenge was a moot point and she was more set at being a nuisance to him. Which meant getting out of rubble and figuriong out a more effective traversal method. From what he saw, she could create light constructs around her position. He just needed space to maneuver around. And at this point he knew exactly how to do so. Another couple slashes from his sword to cut a hole followed by a throw of said sword up in open air, where it melted into a small platform. A similar one appeared under the youth and he was propelled upward. He made sure to keep switching his trajectory every hop, altering lenght as well as angle to throw off the accuracy of the projectiles coming from him. He quickly started running from platform to platform right there up in the air. He was exposed, yes, due to no cover. Yet that was hardly a concern given the speed he could muster. Besides, the fastest path to the goal is a straight line and at this point not having any kind of obstacle around him was more valuable than getting slowed by difficult terrain.

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... He was right about one thing. He was more exposed up above the field. Unfortunately for him, he didn't understand the full danger of what lay below. The fourth platform he bounded off of would be destroyed half a second after he leapt from it, the culprit being a massive construct chain with a weight attached to it. Unlike the cannon from before, the chain seemed to have a life of its own, and all around Leo many more would begin to spring up, each one writhing and moving similar to that of the giant squid that attacked the Nautilus. If Jun was a nuisance, then these translucent beings of light were his first obstacle. The first chain would lash out at him, the wide arc intending to force him to maneuver. Subsequent attacks would come in tandem, each one slithering through the air in order to redirect him off his course and force him away from his intended goal. He might normally have an advantage, but the speed and frequency of attacks were just enough to keep him off his rhythm. Even if he started to fight back, the moment a chain would fall glowing into the depths below two more would replace it. Finally, though negligence or failure to notice, a chain would finally get him by the ankle, dragging him to the forest below... Leo Kaiser

As one snagged him by the ankle after he weasled away from the mass assaulting him he would quickly morph part of the energy covering his arm into a vice, slamming it into the side of a building and grinding him to a stop. Okay focus. Elaborate. Opponent advantages: Light based quirk. Can create things detached from the body. Constructs have high range of independence from the user. His own quirk was artifically suppressed by the government. Possible weaknesses: Preset orders. Possibly high maintenance. They have to come from somewhere. They have to come from somewhere. Leo was quick to dispose of the chain rather painfully pulling on his shins with a new plan in mind. Emitters are always the point of origin of the quirk. Hence, while these constructs could float about unconnected, making them would no doubt expose the user. Given they are made of light and not of darkness, it would basically shine a beacon of light saying: "I'm here kill me." That could explain why the lady was hidden when attacking. Leonard quickly pulled himself up, wall running for a few couple steps until he could platform his way to the top of the skyscraper. If she was the origin point, how did she know his position? She must have visual contact with him.He needed to force her to make a mistake or simply draw out the fight until she tired out, but that was not the ideal option given the time limit... which was likely set taking in consideration her own stamina. Alright then. Bait and switch it is...

Looking down at her rings, Jun realized she had already burned through one of the quartz gemstones inlaid in her rings, and half of another was on the way out. Thankfully, she came prepared. Pulling out a vial of stones, she began to set a new gem into place as she considered her options. She was successful in forcing him down, but he had a vantage point. While it would no doubt be difficult for him to find her, she had to play it careful. Ground Gamma was a great playground, especially if you wanted to learn how to test out your stealth skills. The platform he rested on could be anything, from an electrical terminal to something to manage the flow of chemicals or the like through the pipes. However, her disadvantage was also an obvious one. Because she made hardlight constructs, they would shed light on anything and everything around them. This was well and good and all, because she could always create them as close or as far away from her as needed. But there came a downside: the gems on her rings glowed whenever using her quirk. When he came to a stop all constructs faded away as she slunk into a position that let her look up at the structure from cover. She should be keeping the pressure up on him, but after that earlier display it was better to be a hinderance and refrain from direct confrontation. She was still injured, after all. Leo Kaiser

He needed to regain initiative and no allow his now-opponent a single second of respite. He would leap off the high place and create more platform to rebound off of. He was also onto a different plan. He was on the lookout for shining isolated things. He was baiting out an attack again so that he could locate the lady and hopefully deal with her. She wanted beef, he would give her beef. It was just a shame he couldn't really fight the way he was used to. Having to hold back to not really harm the other person was hard and it threw him off. He wouldn't have to consider the impact of his moves, just how to make them count and how to properly land them for maximum effectiveness. In either case, he was sure he was going to bait either more chains or other constructs as the lady was dead set in not letting him get to the end of the field. Perhaps he could hit her just as hard as to incapacitate her through pain instead of other ways. Though, he didn't know how much she could actually take. Her hit and hide strategy was sending him signals. She didn't seem to be sturdy. Either way, he would force her hand to reveal her position so he could engage her properly or he was just going to get to the end of the play area and be done with the exercise as he told her. In both cases the suit around his body tightened as he braced for incoming fire.

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... The moment he started to move she'd continue her shadow game once again, moving in and among the scape below. Unfortunately, she'd be slowed down in the jungle, so every free space she'd see she'd channel her fear in order to create a series of chains trailing up. Unlike before she wasn't able to set up and get into a good position to use them, so these, while still winding about in the air, would lack the grace or control she had before. They'd more violently swing out in wide arcs with the intent to wrap him up and drag him down. She'd have her moments where she'd get clear line of sight on him and be able to better control her chains, which meant her attacks were much more accurate in their trajectory. Either way, she was definitely being a pain in the ass as she repositioned into a better location to keep him from the goal. That lead to the concerns she was having. Sure, thirty minutes had passed by and sure he had made it a quarter of the way there, but this wasn't what she was expecting. He was attempting, yet again, to traverse high above the intended traversal method. The first time she proved handily that it was a bad idea, and the moment she was able to she'd manage to do it again. If he kept this up he was not going to meet his goal. What was he planning? Unless...was it a direct confrontation? Was he really that stupid? Leo Kaiser

Looking down below in the midst of his evasive actions. He was seeking to find a correlation bewteen the things popping into being and shining from somewhere. He did spot something sometimes, but not always. Still, he noticed that the sloppy ones were not accompanied by any blinking light. More intel. The blinking light below would mean she was creating things, but she could also create out of his line of sight. But the things created without line of sight between the two were sloppy and easily avoided. He found her weakness. That gap in her precision would be her own undoing. With not much time left, Leo flung himself back down from his higher position, drammatically reducing his altitude but keeping himself still far above ground. He would quickly create more platforms for himself to trampoline off of, but also wires between buildings to rapidly change direction and avoid the incoming chains. He would make sure to keep an eye out for the telltale blinking that heralded more energy attack, making sure to reposition and always try to put something between him and the origin point of the nuisance. There wasn't much time left, but the goal was getting closer and closer and he was sure this new strategy would prove to be much more effective than taking a gamble on a one on one as he originally planned.

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... If there was one thing Jun could appreciate about Leo, it was his adaptability. Having fallen out of an ambush position meant she was now playing catchup, and his new strategy of quickly maneuvering made it difficult to maintain line of sight and punish him for his choice of navigation. It was probably the smartest thing he had done, she'd give him that. There was only one teeny tiny problem. For a moment he would have respite, with the lack of attacks subsiding. However, all in one instance half a dozen chains would fly out from behind him to ruin his groove. If he looked behind, he'd see that his opponent had revealed herself, her chains taking on the same characteristics his tendrils had in helping her maneuver. The only thing that was lacking was the platforms, but other chains were taking up the slack as they'd keep her up in the air, even stiffening on demand and acting more as poles than chains. Swinging in from his right, her rings blazed as multiple chains flew out all at once, intending to create a web that would limit his movement and force him back down to the jungle below. Leo Kaiser
