I COULD HAVE BEEN A HERO IF ONLY YOU'D GIVEN ME A CHANCE

The day was off to a good start. The sun was high in the sky and there were almost no clouds that could be seen. The morning was cold, but with fur covering him up, Yuma did not have any trouble going outside with relatively light clothing. Today he was going to deal with his part time shift at NSD in the morning and probably go home and relax after his six hours, getting ready for his night time activities.

But those, in any case, were far far away, thus the fox mutant found himself around Shinjuku and searching for a bar that could offer him a cup of hot cocoa to get his energy up in the morning.

Still half groggy due to having to get up early, he wandered the streets, looking around at the other people walking about. Man. What a weird world they lived in. Certainly couldn't say every time he was outside it looked the same. Just the people themselves were all different. Hell, he was even more different than the rest. He was a bipedal fox for crying out loud.

As he walked, he spotted a bar in a rather nice position. Not too crowded either. His ears flicked as he heard the bell ring as he opened the entrance door, his head scanning the place to find the counter so he could order his drink.

Ito let out the biggest yawn right in front of many customers who is busy queueing for their coffee non-apologetically. A soft nudge can be felt from the passing co-worker but Ito straight out ignore the warn and moves rather sluggishly, which invites the wrath of one of the customer - which is really unjust as she doesn't particularly move that slow, it just that him unreasonably demanding for it to be faster. "Jeez, did you twist your panties man. Calm down for a bit." Ito groans as she is preparing the coffee for the guy. Her eyes already moves at the person behind the man, completely ignoring the outburst of anger claiming how disrespectful she was.

A mutation, huh

A man with a beautiful yellow fur covering his body, his feature reminisces of a fox to her judgement. But her eyes mostly focus on that fluffy-looking tail where she wants to snuggle it so hard. The background noise suddenly dies down, apparently the man finally got tired from going tirade with his speech. With a cheeky smiles, Ito put down the order "Finish? Good, here is your order" Ito says while her hand telling him to go away. Before she can handle the yellow fluffy fox that was behind him, suddenly a commotion happened right in front of the entrance. Two guy, one big and one small, holding a gun and aiming at the people inside making it as a hostage situation.

The boring day is going to be lit.

But it wouldn't be fine for long. Yuma was waiting patiently for his turn, trying to not get into other's people's ways. He usually was rather theatrical, but he needed some time to get into his usual persona. He would quickly tuck his clawed hands into his hoodie, making sure his big tail wouldn't get stepped on.

He would approach the counter after the other guy stormed off, looking at the cashier to make his order. She was actually quite cute of a girl all things consdiered. Sadly, he wouldn't be able to do much fawning or teasing. A bunch of idiots stormed in with weapons drawn. He frowned as he lazily took his hands out of the pockets and held them up with an annoyed expression.

It was the middle of the day, so he couldn't really don his vigilante costume. That was back home in a secure location. He still had some blood vials and his blade. He could probably stab a fool and get a sample, but perhaps he should first see where this was going.

He didn't have any money on him. He always payed with his card or his phone. Then again they could take his phone and he did not want that. He would use the commotion to slink back in the crowd. If he could get to the bathroom unnoticed he could slip out of the place by the window.
