Plot Stuff
Overview
Cold, blunt, and focussed, Asuka is every bit the brooding artist. It isn't uncommon to find him mumbling quietly to himself as some classical piece or other plays softly in the background, weaving together a new piece of haute couture that is as practical as it is stylish - while delivering a storm of stern words at those who would dare to disturb him. Even when not locked in the workshop, Asuka seems to care more for his art and business than the people wearing it, to the point where he sometimes seems to resent having to speak to others.
However, beneath that cold exterior beats the heart of someone who - despite his protests - cares deeply for his fellow man. He's well aware that he's hardly the most sociable person on the planet, so those that can weather his abrasive attitude and laser-focussed passion are regarded as friends that he would go to the ends of the Earth to help out. And though he'll protest the whole way, admonishing people for whatever perceived faults he can find in them, he always stands ready to lend a hand where it's needed, showing it more through his deeds and his works than through his words.
Friends
Asuka is a tough nut to crack. It seems that his first, and only, friend is the sewing machine humming away on the workshop table. However, those that are perceptive enough to notice the work he puts in to make sure others get home safe, and the persistence to make it past his acerbic exterior, will find someone that truly values his friends, and is fiercely loyal to those that are the same to him. Just don't expect him to be all sunshine and smiles, even after you're done getting through to him.
Lovers
If friendship is difficult for Asuka, love seems outright impossible. He already keeps people at arm's length, and to earn his trust enough to be even considered as a romantic partner is something that will take an utterly Herculean effort. Not to mention the fact that he wishes, with ever fibre of his being, to avoid ending up like his parents - trapped in a loveless marriage, used for his connections and skills, never once being appreciated as a person. And, even should someone make it through, he has no idea how to show love, or even if he should. Becoming his, and letting him become yours, is an uphill battle at best - and one that he would say isn't even worth fighting.
Enemies
In stark contrast to earning his trust, attracting Asuka's ire is remarkably easy. He does not suffer fools gladly, and having to immerse himself in circles of backstabbers and frauds has left him with a deep, lingering, hatred of those that put on airs to try and impress others. Those he is simply annoyed by will be forgotten, in time - he would rather focus on his work, and such feelings are distracting. But those that truly anger him will not find it easy to be forgiven - if they can at all.
