Its radiance imposed over the quietly rustling trees, with only the sounds of brushing leaves and chirping crickets responding to its presence; the forest, in its obscured serenity, dwelt not in the modernity of the world or its fickle machinations and, instead, in the solemnity of the night. A blur shot above the blackened canopy, flying past muted leaves left to roar in its wake; something new, something unnatural, soared through the green, intruded upon the formerly dozing wilderness, which now groggily awoke to activity. Some creatures hid away from the thundering sound, whether in their burrows or within their trees, whilst others ran from the presence in its entirety. The bullet came to a halt in the air, imposing upon the shuttering greenery a visage of unnatural capacity: a glowing stare of green eyes, sickly by comparison to the trees, that did not see, but were instead of a mask concealing what once belonged to and served nature — Man. The presence descended down into the woods, resting a foot down against the grass, and observed the clearing arrived upon. An innocuous expanse of woods — though only a few meters in perimeter — held within it the vision man sought for it; purpose, one specially called for by the perpetrator. Said perpetrator, with their cloak falling down and concealing their figure, rested against the land, drifting a hand through the topsoil. From the very back of the cloak came the voice of a creature, one not of the intruder, but of something entirely distinct that yet belonged to the interloper. "You sure 'bout comin' out 'ere?" It spoke, though crudely, to reckless abandon. "I'm already 'ere. If shou were worried, why didn't shou 'peak?" The figure responded back, still drifting a hand through the blades. "Cuz I-" "Because shou never 'top worry'ng?" The figure rose, cleaning off their hand as they looked out above to the unpolluted sight of the stars. "Look, I'd rather 'et a lab — a proper lab — awash from people. Renting place' gets e'pensive, and I don't want my work at home either." The vigilante known as Grinta. She was an unusual presence in most spaces, lent primarily to the veneer she hid herself behind, but no space more than the wilds yet plagued with technological innovation, with its bare scape pulling away from the low buzz of machines emanating from her. "Sure, but this far? Seems redundant, don't it?" "Your ability to 'peak is re'un'ant." "Now yer just bein' childish." "'Now yer just bein' childish'," she mocked, purposefully mimicking the intonation of her companion. "Just let me finish." Neither she nor her companion paid much mind to their volume, continuing to bicker whilst measuring the terrain. The silence was exactly what he needed to rest, the deep night and the moon was exactly how he liked it. His face was deep in that of blissful sleep; the brushing leaves, the crickets chirping here or there… Everything was fine. It was a gorgeous stunning string of moments that let him do something her rarely got to do… and that was properly rest. The deeper it went into the night the more rested he’d be. However…

That was brought to the end when he heard a thundering sound off in the distance. His chest heaved up somewhat and he’d slowly breathe outward. His head coming up and ears flicking this way or that. Eyes slowly and blearly opening. What was going on so late? And in or around his territory no less? Sighing he’d slowly get up. The soft rumbling of his footsteps lending to knowing where the prey things were running from. They’d adjust their fleeing nature from him and from the ‘thing’ that arrived.

An ear flicked as he neared, the first voice he heard was… Something crude? The other that responded to it earned a soft pause from him; he wasn’t hearing them clearly. It was muffled and with a soft rolling growl he’d approach. The curiosity of other animals wasn’t important to him. But…

The brush was pushed aside, trees swayed from his presence. Each step was a rumble and now that he had started to stir the forest around him grew quiet. He was the king of his home and this was an invader? Or perhaps something he could at least tell to go elsewhere. The crashing of a smaller tree would cut through the night like a knife and he’d come to the edge of the clearing. His deep green eyes shining in the moonlight just at the edge…

Almost about twenty feet up from where the ground humbly stayed. A shadow of his body cast along the blades of grass this intruder stood at. It would be… odd if they didn’t notice him and he just stood there. Barely considering entering the clearing; he knew he head to but… eugh.

Someone nay, something, was here, something far beyond the expectations of the vigilante. In her search for a space unmarked by others, where nature seemed to be the only presence of note, Grinta had decided upon a land that none dared lay a hand on. However naively, she thought the reason went no further than the isolation of these shadowed woods; but, as the rumbling approached, and as the woods quaked in the presence of this something, the masked gaze fell upon where it was most prominent. In the shrowded dead of the darkness, with the forest fleeing in its presence, stood a being whose eyes fell upon her. Its emerald-green gaze, seldom shifting from her figure, loomed over the clearing, with its presence blotting out the shine of the moon above — at least, over her. No evidence — from what Grinta had come into contact with, anyway — had pointed to the existence of any such creature, let alone a behemoth that towered over her. Had one of the local creatures been mutated? It wasn't unheard of, given the nature of quirks, and it could be just as possible that an animal had developed a quirk of its own, one that would allow this presence to exist as it did — but such a thing existed here of all places? Perhaps as a result of instinct, one that found fear in the face of the unknown, Jackie took to a defensive posture, with her left side directly facing the king of the forest. The illuminating glow of her cloak pulsated in his shadow, a subtle ebb and flow similar to that of breathing. "The 'ell do we do?" She'd think, calling for her quirk's attention in her mindscape. "Get ready ta run'f he charges?" The sentient quirk, though a being in its own regard, held little sway without its bearer's permission. Though, in a situation where neither it nor the bearer held an answer, Pundit could speak to its user on a level playing field. Though, in regard to the situation laid out before them, both Grinta and Pundit were frozen by shock. Yet, the gaze that fell upon them... There was an unspoken air about the creature that brought this hesitation; if it was just a rabid beast, why had it paused to stare at them? Was it simply evaluating its prey? Wast this being intelligent enough to do so? And furthermore, why had it not yet pounced? So, the vigilante chose to gamble. "...Hello?" Her illuminated gaze, though static in expression, faced the forest's deity. There stood the possibility that the being she faced was not just something, but someone — an intelligence that could see beyond what simply stood before it. The baleful green eyes were definitely the focal point; glimmering in the darkness as the moon touched them from on high. His stature was immense and he would have no problem bearing down on such a smaller target. But there was something that stayed his claws, something that made him speak rather than rend with his fangs. His breath rolled out almost like steam; rolling out into the bitter darkness. The heat from a body this size was immense and the rippling muscles that worked to drive such a body pushed it forward into the clearing. His initial size paled in comparison as he entered.

They spoke to him; which was something that not too many people did out of the gate. He pondered their greeting and seeing that there was more caution than outright hostility he… Well. Much like the woman that had shaped the earth for him this individual made him feel a little more in the realm of interaction.

His head lowered and his baleful green eyes looked to meet the other’s. His head was nearly the size of the person in front of him. An easy assumption that if he was hungry that some people might think that he would eat them. But humans weren’t on his menu and they definitely weren’t something he’d do more than just drive off. That intelligence behind his eyes was even more apparent when the deep rumbling turned out… To be speech.

His voice was impossibly deep, something you’d expect from a mountainous being from ancient records. The sort of thing that was a demon first and a living creature second. There was nothing behind that that would be anything other than threatening but here this massive creature instead chose a movement of peace. His immense stature would normally bring on pain and nothing but.

She had extended a hand of peace and he met it with snout and a hidden claw. He was ready to fight to defend his home but he didn’t feel the need for outward hostility as of yet. She’d have to earn his ire first.
