Honestly, the people I've gotten matched up with over the last month were pretty...okay actually? weird but okay. You though, at least you're fun to hang out with. Kinda like you're just a bro but not actually a bro. It's nice, you got a good quality to ya that I can just vibe with! Plus if anything bad happens again I know you've got it in the bag...Or should I say Bat"

The titan chuckled at his little jokes and nudged his partner as the two of them walked down the street on their patrol. It wasn't very often that he got to team up with Freja. She was cool people in his opinion, she didn't have a quirk but she was determined to be a hero regardless and that was something he could truly respect. Honestly, he hoped that she excelled and became a better hero than most of the students attending the school which was why he was determined to boost her confidence. Partially so that she'd succeed in her endeavors to become a hero, and partially because he was really hoping she'd do all the work again.

Today the two of them had been assigned to a rather quiet part of Tokyo where hopefully the two of them would be treated to a quiet and relaxed day of friendly chatting and good food. Of course, Zenkai had the sinking feeling that it would be anything but. It could have just been the dark, heavy clouds that hung overhead and the looming presence of rain but the titan couldn't help but feel like the two of them wouldn't be getting the gyudon he had planned for them any time soon.

''R-Right?'' She looked up at Zen, unsure if he knew about her past and how she had come to be trapped in her sister's body, or if he really just was calling her one of the bros by coincidence. ''Well, I take that as a compliment. Much rather be one of the bros than just okay.'' She smiled. There was actually something comforting about being called that. Like for a moment she was still a guy, still Elias who had never had his curse of a quirk activate. ''I've got a secret, that's probably why.'' She put her index finger up to her temple to give it a tap. ''I know how to think like a guy.''

She smirked at the nudge, before giving him a nudge back. ''IF anything happens you'll be the one to save the day. We got lucky that last guy wasn't anything special, but what if a real super villain showed up? Then it's on you.'' She pointed the tip of her bat up at him. ''I mean, I'd back you up of course..'' The dark clouds overhead prompted her to look up. ''Looks just like the clouds at home. Where I'm from we have a saying. There's no such thing as bad weather, only wrong clothing.'' She adjusted her bat to make sure it rested on her shoulder. Ready to use it as a moment's notice. Nice going Freja, already learning! ''Basically they shift the blame from the weather being bad to us not being prepared enough for it.''

''I sometimes think about that in terms of heroics.'' She looked down at her hand. ''Like what if you could get a gear for every situation? Become like a... Swiss Army Knife?'' Her whole idea kind of fell apart the second she had to name an example, because picturing a human Swiss Army Knife was about the dorkiest thing that could have come out of her mouth.

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]"It is a compliment, you're pretty fun to hang out with. More fun than most of the sweats that I've met." Zen let out a yawn as he stretched out. It was pretty easy for Zen to relax and get along with his quirkless companion. She was easy going and fun if not a little dorky but he felt at ease whenever they were on patrol together, even if they did end up running into villains. If Zen was being honest with himself he'd probably ask Freja out if he wasn't already dating Marlene, they weren't about to be a cheating dickhead after all. It was just that Freja was fun in a way that Marlene couldn't because Marlene lacked the fundamental human emotions to be endearingly dorky and awkward.

"Oh really? So you were a guy in your past life or something like that?" The titan smirked as the two of them got into an impromptu nudging match, returned her nudge with a slightly more forceful one of their own. was this Freja's way of telling them they were trans or wanted to be a guy or something? He wasn't about to pry into that closet but he'd be supportive if she needed him to be.

"Nah bro, when push comes to shove you'll go above and beyond, Plus Ultra and all that Jazz. You're a real hero, you just need to have more faith in yourself." while Zenkai definitely believed in what he was saying he was also dispensing his words of wisdom in the hopes that he wouldn't have to do anymore work than necessary. He'd gotten away with it last time and had hoped that it would give the girl a bit more confidence now that she'd defeated "A villain" But it seemed like there was still a lot of work to be done. Unfortunately she was right, if anything more than the villain they fought before came at them he'd have to take the lead. He was the one built like a shit brickhouse after all and could handle most things thrown at him without having to resort to using his quirk.

"I'm P sure the Swiss Army Hero is an actual thing, seems pretty useless though since his quirk is just Swiss army knives for hands though so it seems more like a hinderance than anything" Zen shrugged as they continued to walk down the street. "Honestly, I kinda hope that just insulting the villains would be enough to get them to go away but Nooooooo, we have to actually fight them" He sighed and shook his head slowly "I'm hoping this patrol goes smoother than last time, I'm too tired to work."

Did that mean she was good at something, being funny? She couldn't help but blush a little bit at the compliment. Elias had spent his entire life chasing validation after all. When you were born pretty much functionally quirkless, it was hard not to feel inadequate in a sea of cool superpowers. Especially when your sister could send flames flying out of her hands. Even if it was from the wrong people, validation was still validation. He still cringed a bit at the thought of how he was trying to please those gang members and become one of them. Thank god he hadn't. In a roundabout way, all of it had led to Japan. To meeting the people at school and being complimented by Zenkai. ''H-Hey stop! You're gonna make me blush!'' She chuckled, putting a hand up to cover her face.

''Hey no fair, you're bigger than me!'' Freja stuck her tongue out, nudging back a little harder too, although it probably did nothing to move Zen. She looked a bit shocked at their casual comment about her being a guy in her past life. Did they... Had they found out somehow? Could they just tell how much of an imposter Freja was? ''Where'd that come from?'' She masked her nervousness terribly with an unsure smile. ''I mean who knows, if you believe in reincarnation we've all had past lives r-right?'' Nice save, Freja! You've definitely thrown them off and you're definitely not suspicious in the slightest.

''I guess, but there's lots of other things too, right? Muscles, speed, presence, I doubt the power of Plus Ultra and believing in yourself alone is that strong.'' She shrugged. It was a nice thought, though and she really appreciated the effort. ''No way!'' She lit up a bit at the thought that Swiss Army Man was real, ''that's a real thing? Talk about an all-purpose quirk. Except if your purpose was to not have knives for hands.'' Freja's eyes would wander for a moment, turning her head to look at a shop as they passed it, not that she wanted to stop there or anything, something had just caught her eye. ''Right?'' She grinned when she looked back up at Zenkai. ''If only it was that easy.'' She sighed, imagining a better world where she could just call villains nerds and get them to back down instantly. ''You seem tired a lot.'' It wasn't exactly an expert observation or anything, but it had become more prevalent the more time she spent with them. ''Is it because of your quirk?''

It was like chum in the water, Zenkai could smell the weakness of his partner and was definitely going to abuse the shit out of it. It was nice to be able make someone embarrassed, to see that his words actually had an effect on people, well, at least on Freja. After all, his efforts to make Marlene blush always failed miserably. It was impossible to make the android's cheeks redden at least until she was able to feel emotions, even then she had no blood, would it even be possible for her to blush?

"Oh, I'm SO sorry that you were born so cute and petite" The titan rolled his eyes before stopping in his tracks as Freja got a little TOO weird over a little joke. Sure, Zen believed in reincarnation but it was a simple jest and the way Freja reacted made it seem like it was anything but. She seemed nervous, her smile seemed forced and that stutter was definitely not one of someone trying to hold back a laugh. "Unless...You weren't born this way?" The golden boy raised a single eyebrow as he looked down at his partner. Had he gotten it wrong? Maybe she transitioned the other way? Shit, was calling her a guy an insult then? Yikes, he didn't want to hurt her feelings. "Regardless, I hope you know I'll accept ya and respect ya either way" There, Nice save Hatake.

Regardless of how Freja wished to be perceived, Zenkai was more than happy to go with the flow, she was cool people in his mind and he didn't want to upset her...Unless he was trying to make her blush. "Nah, like he only has the swiss army knives...Like the knife part, the toothpick, little saw, cork screw, bottle opener, that kind of Jazz, not like he can create someone suitable for every situation" The titan yawned again before adding "Naw, It's more out of boredom and laziness, I'd feel kind of bad if I just said I was bored all the time so I say that I'm tired" Zen grinned as he gave Freja another little shove. "Trying to figure out my quirk huh? Gonna have to try harder than that Miss Helt."

''I-I'm not cute and petite!! I'm almost 6 feet tall!'' She protested, her face growing even redder against her will. ''You better watch out or I'm gonna test BBB on you instead.'' She pouted, holding her precious bat and giving it a gentle pat. She could feel herself getting cornered on the reincarnation discussion. Should she just tell them? It was hardly the setting for it, airing that kind of stuff in public like this, who knew who could be listening? When they asked that question and looked down at her she quickly averted her gaze. The eyes were the windows to the soul after all, if Zenkai looked her in the eyes asking about that, they would no doubt know she was a liar. ''..You would?'' There was a quiet sort of desperation in her tone of voice. If Zenkai knew and still accepted her, that would make life just that bit easier, even if it was just one more person knowing. ''Drunk.'' She blurted out.

Looking back up at them she held out her thumb and pinky, before tipping her hand, thumb first back towards her lips. ''Get me drunk, then I'll tell you.'' With a little bit of liquid courage and a different setting, talking about that stuff was going to be way easier. They had already said they would accept and respect her anyway and she had no reason to not believe them. ''Thanks, anyway.'' She muttered so quietly she hoped Zen didn't hear it.

''Whaaat, that's it?'' She put a hand up to her chin. ''Yeah, unless he applied his brain instead, there's many ways you could use tools like that and thinking on your feet is how you win the fight.'' She looked back up at him as he yawned. ''You're bored? Why? I'd rather you're honest than you feel like you need to lie to me or yourself.'' Ouch, way to be a hypocrite Freja. ''Of course I am! You're one big walking mystery! How can I even try harder??'' She whined, hitting him back playfully for that shove.

Even the threat with the bat came off as endearing as she poked at him, her face still red from his "Petite" comment. "Compared to me you're definitely petite" Zen poked BBB with a finger as he spoke. "And unless I've gone blind, I'd say any idiot with eyes could see that you're cute" The titan wondered just how flustered he could make Freja, or if she'd actually follow through with her threat. Could he actually withstand the full might of the Bitch Boy Beatstick? It was an interesting prospect.

"Drunk? Never actually drank with someone my age before" Zen pondered as the two of them turned a corner and headed down a long empty street. "Or drank alcohol before. But sure, we'll get nice and drunk and you can tell me whatever secret you want" The golden boi gave Freja a firm pat on her back before letting out a loud laugh "And if you're lucky, I might just get drunk enough to tell you a bit more about my quirk" It was more of a taunt than anything else. Zen had no intention of revealing his quirk to anyone but he did want to go drinking with Freja and it was an easy way to stop her from backing out.

Just as Zen was about to tease his partner some more a thunderclap echoed down the street followed by a loud chorus of screams as people began to scatter for cover. In the center of the street behind them was a man dressed a bit like a monk, his hand pointed at the sky as electricity cackled around it. Shit the titan groaned inwards as he stepped in front of Freja. A metal bat as a lightning rod was the perfect conductor for a lightning strike. Of course they would end up fighting a dude like this in the middle of a thunder storm.

"Stay behind me please" The monkey king said, letting out a frustrated sigh. This dude was going to pay for making him do actual work.

"I hope lightning doesn't hurt THAT much"

She wasn't used to this kind of attention at all! Even if it was in jest, being complimented so openly was a hard thing to cope with without blushing like mad. After having her heartbroken as Elias, she had been resigned to never really wanting or needing the attention of other people. If someone found her cute or attractive, so what? Well, that was the way she liked to think anyway, so why was Zenkai's teasing so effective against her? ''C-Compared to you everyone is petite!'' She retaliated, still red as a tomato. How did actors do it in movies? How did they take compliments from another person without shutting down completely?

In that moment she wanted nothing more than to be wearing a hoodie, so she could pull it up over her head and hide away from the world. It was safe to say Zenkai had found one of her biggest weaknesses. Compliments and positive affirmation. ''You're killing me, Zen!'' She shifted the bat up so that she could hide part of her face behind it. ''You know, maybe I actually can hit you with BBB, seeing as you're so big and tough.'' She grinned mischievously. Right on top of his head, oh- but then she would need him to sit down first.

''No way!'' She blurted out, eyes wide in shock as she looked up at them. ''Never? No alcohol at all? You definitely grew up in Japan, didn't you?'' Putting her bat back over one shoulder, she only spared a couple of quick glances at the street around them since it was so empty. ''Where I'm from that's what all young people do. Get drunk as hell every weekend to talk about their problems.'' Compared to Zenkai, she was probably something of a veteran drinker, although given their size and build she imagined it would take quite a lot for them to get a buzz going. She blinked her eyes when they patted her back, about to look up at them and ask what was so funny, only to grin at what he said next. ''Oh yeah? Careful what you wish for, Zen! I'll get you so drunk you'll spill every detail!'' She teased, pointing a finger up at them. Was her delinquent side coming out again?

Freja felt a jolt in her body as the thunderclap hit, jumping on the spot. It felt like a lightning had struck right next to her, even though it was clearly coming from further down the street. Her first course of action was to look up at Zen. That sound couldn't possibly have been a good one. ''What the hell was that?'' She looked towards the sounds of the scream and it was easy to see who the culprit was. Her attention honed in on his hand pointed towards the sky... Electricity? That would explain the thunderclap earlier.

''Huh?'' She looked up at Zen in disbelief. ''You can't be serious! I'm not about to let you get hit by lightning!'' She looked back at the supposed villain and immediately charged into the fray. Now that she was starting to gain just a sliver of self-worth thanks to people like Zenkai and Miroru, she wasn't about to stand around and let them do all the work. It was insanely dangerous to rush in with a metal bat, but maybe she could catch the lightning monk by surprise. That was what she wanted to bank on anyways.

Raising her bat up, Freja pointed the tip at the monk's arm as she continued to dash forward, before releasing the mechanism that would fire the grappling hook out of the bat, and hopefully, right into the arm pointed up at the sky to deal some decisive damage.

It was reckless and stupid, but she wanted to be useful, and maybe impress Zenkai a little bit in the process.

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]Zenkai let out a loud groan as Freja decided not to listen to him and instead charge head on towards the one person that could probably kill her in an instance. On one hand, They were a bit touched that she would go out of her way to try an protect him. She finally got the confidence she needed to really become a hero. On the other hand it was DEFINITELY the wrong fucking time for Freja to choose to be a hero. Now, Not only was he going to have to do work, he was going to have to do MORE work to make sure his partner got out of this with her body still intact.

"Would it have killed you to wait two seconds so I could tell you the plan first!?" The titan shouted as he bolted after the bat wielding maniac that he called a 'friend'. It seemed that her reckless attitude had to do with her new bat. She had been bragging about her new bat the last time he saw her as well and as soon as she used it he could understand why. The grappling hook mechanism hidden in the bat was perfect for surprise attacks and mobility. Hey plan would have probably worked too if the monk they were fighting had not been staring directly at her.

With a quick pivot to the side the villain dodged out of the way of the grappling hook as it missed his arm by a mere inch. A second later lightning came down from the heaven's striking the monk's raised arm before redirecting through his bottom and shooting out of his other hand, directly at the quirkless hero and her metal bat.

Of course, Zenkai wasn't about to let Freja fry, Nah, that kind of shit was for scrubs and bad superhero origin stories. If Zenkai wasn't both bigger and faster than his petite partner he probably wouldn't have caught up to her in time. Fortunately for the both of them he was. Right before the villain went on the attack the monkey king caught up with Freja just in time to grab the back her coat and throw her behind them before the lightning caught them directly in the chest.

Zenkai groaned as he felt the electricity course through him before exiting through his feet. The smell of his own burnt flesh made him slightly nauseous but it was easily pushed out of his mind by the overwhelming annoyance of the pain he was feeling. Now he was REALLY going to kick this guy's ass.

No, it probably wouldn't have killed her to wait, but the last thing she wanted was to watch Zenkai go down being struck by lightning, or any other civilians in the area for that matter. With her weapon she could finally make a difference. Take out the wrist, maybe disarm the lightning strikes entirely if she was lucky and the villain was caught by surprise. It was a gamble, not just on the ability of her weapon, but on her appearance. That she looked so completely ordinary that the villain would underestimate her and let his guard down.

''Crap! I missed!'' Not only did he summon lightning, he was fast like lightning too. She hadn't expected the pivot, but she should definitely have planned further ahead. Was that what Zenkai was trying to tell her? What was their plan in dealing with this psycho monk? When the lightning struck and he redirected it towards her, Freja froze in place, feeling like she was staring down the barrel of a gun. The end was about to flash before her eyes, but then she felt herself getting tossed back. ''Zenkai!!'' She held out a hand, but knew touching them would just spread the electric shock to her as well. There was real concern in her voice, as if this was it, as if they had just heroically sacrificed their life for her. She still didn't know what their quirk was, but she had no reason to believe it made them resistant to electricity and especially not a whole-ass lightning strike.

In her panicked state of mind she still remembered to press the switch on her bat to retract her grappling hook. She barely registered any of that, though. All she could think about was Zenkai's safety. ''Zen? Z-Zen are you okay?'' They were way out of their league. There was no way they could defeat the monk, this had to be a job only real heroes could handle.

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]Getting struck by lightning sucked...a lot...Every part of his body hurt and for some reason he could taste copper. It was certainly not a pleasant feeling to say the least. But after being struck by it once, Zenkai realized that he'd be able to take another...and probably a few more after that. It wouldn't be fun and it would probably almost kill him but he could do it if necessary. He could do it if it meant Freja remained unharmed. Man, he hated being in such a shitty situation, thankfully Freja seemed to be okay and hopefully more willing to listen to him now.

"I'll be okay" The titan grunted as he shook out his sore body. "It's going to take a lot more than that to take me out" It was kind of Freja to worry about him in this situation but it wasn't necessary right now, she could feel bad for him AFTER they beat this guy into the ground. It should be easy, it wasn't like they were out of their depth or anything. It looked like the dude literally had to keep his hand held towards the sky in order to actually use his quirk which meant it would be child's play to disable the dude.

"So...Like I was saying. Stay behind me, let me get close to him and use your bat to take his hand out. I don't care of you grapple him or break his fucking arm. Just make sure he can't point to the sky anymore." The Monkey King growled as he started to move forward. The walk turned into a run as Zenkai picked up speed, barreling towards their opponent, hoping that Freja wouldn't go buck wild again and put herself in more danger.

Zenkai ducked down low just as he got to the monk and stuck his leg out for a sweep kick. The monk for his part dodged the low blow and took a few steps back as the titan launched himself forward striking out with a flurry of punches. He didn't need to actually hit the monk, he just needed to distract him long enough for Freja to do her job.

She smiled, the fear still very real in her eyes, but relieved to hear that Zenkai was a lot tougher than she thought. ''Behind you?'' She looked past Zenkai at the monk, it was a sound strategy, but she didn't like how it put Zenkai in so much danger. Then again, they had to think on their feet and maybe this was the best solution after all. What was her deal anyway? Freja was no seasoned veteran in a fight, but usually she wasn't this sentimental. Just then, a brief memory flashed before her eyes.

''Elias, you have to learn when to stop, you could have gotten hurt.'' The memory was from Freja's perspective, she could tell because she was patching up Elias's face after he had gotten in a fight.

Huh? Was Freja's personality mixing with his? Normally Elias wouldn't act this way, but Freja... No, she had to suppress it for now. She could worry about Zenkai and her everchanging body after the fact. ''G-Got it!'' She held her bat ready as she got in position, a little startled by their growl. For some reason, even as they were risking their lives all she could think about was how she wanted to apologize to him. For putting the both of them in danger by just rushing in.

Zenkai was fast, but Freja did her best to keep up as they advanced, dashing out from behind them, almost as if she had been an extension of their shadow. She knew immediately that to do the most damage to the arm, she was going to aim for the monk's wrist specifically, putting as much power as she could into her strike as she swung downwards, trying to break his wrist and hopefully some fingers too in one swift attack.

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]Good, things would go better now that Freja wasn't going to be the focus of the villains attacks. His partner, for what it was worth, was more of a Hero than they ever were. She might have gotten ahead of themselves but her head was in the right place, if the monk didn’t literally have her weakness Zen probably would have just sat back and let them do all the work again. Unlike her They couldn’t really be bothered to be a hero. They wanted to help people sure but not like a hero, too much work, too much fame. He’d rather have a nice cozy job like owning a restaurant and talking to people about their troubles at the bar. Unfortunately he wasn’t so lucky, His grandfather was dead set on making them a Hero.

The titan ducked out of the way of a roundhouse kick meant for his head before throwing a haymaker at his opponent. Sure, Zenkai was strong and fast but his fighting skills left a lot to be desired and as was the case with his new opponent, most skilled martial artists straight up beat him in a fight. The lightning monk danced around him as they traded blows, while the monk had gotten more hits in, the Monkey king had started to adapt. They couldn’t match the monk in skill but he knew one thing, you were most vulnerable to attack when attacking. Every blow the monk dealt started to be replied to almost instantly by the monkey king.

And then Freja struck. The monk stepped back to gain some distance in between them for another lighting attack. But Just as he raised his arm Freja’s bat connected with his wrist making a deafening CRACK throughout the now empty street. Motherfucker just hit a home run. With the wrist now broken it should make the entire fight a little easier. But it didn’t.

The lightning came down onto the monk’s hand before launching out of the other one. Zenkai was ready this time though and managed to leap to the side as it barely just singed his torso. Great, so they not only needed to break one arm, they needed to break both of them…at least the fighting would be a bit easier now.

Zenkai and the monk were fighting on a level Freja couldn't even comprehend. Sure, Zenkai wasn't the most technically proficient fighter, but they had the physique to back it up and sometimes that could take you further than knowing the intricacies. If it wasn't for him, she would have been dead for sure, so she definitely had to make this count, help beat up this monk so that they could go get drunk and cry about how they almost died or something.

''No you don't!'' She called out as she smacked his wrist aside. Unfortunately, that alone wasn't enough to bring the monk to his knees. ''W-What?!'' She couldn't believe her eyes when he charged up for another lightning attack anyway. Quirked people were scary, living, breathing monsters. Her concern went out to Zen, but she didn't have time to fuss around. Freja didn't have the same level of muscles or speed that Zenkai had, but she did just happen to be good at one thing.

She was damn good at wielding her weapon.

Unleashing the grappling hook once more, this time straight up in the air, Freja brought the wire around, aiming it at the monk's other hand, a deafening crack filling the air as she improvized and wielded her bat like a whip. ''Get him Zen! Use your quirk!'' It was selfish of her to shout in the moment, but she was understandably desperate to not get electro-fried, and she also didn't have the full context for why they didn't use their quirk. In her mind, people who were blessed with quirks that were strong would surely use them in a life or death situation, right?

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]The monk was certainly had a strong quirk and was pretty skilled in battle but it was pretty clear to Zen as the fight went on that his body was not as durable as theirs. If Zenkai could keep this battle going, the monk would eventually lose to the two of them. All they would need to do was keep Freja out of harms way and continue fighting and taking the hits. The enlightened one didn't care for fights most of the time, they were boring and a pain in their ass. But this fight, this fight was getting exciting. This fight had actual stakes, he had someone he needed to protect and an opponent interfering with other's happiness. If most of his fights could be like this, maybe being a hero wasn't so bad after all.

After the narrow escape with the second lightning attack the titan ran towards their opponent to close the distance. The monk couldn't be allowed to get off another bolt of lightning. It was too dangerous to let him get any distance, Zen could take all the punches in the world, they weren't sure they could say the same for the quirk. Even though there was a decent chance that both of them could be taken out with one lucky lightning strike Zen had no doubt in his mind that they would win. They had Freja with them and that girl was one hell of a hero.

Using her bat like a whip his heroic partner was able to catch the villain's other arm with her grappling hook at least subduing him for the moment. Her shout though was something that didn't sit right with them. The demand to use their quirk, their quirk could never be used, it only brought disaster. Freja would just eat a dick and be content with what he had in store next.

The titan quickly charged at the monk before leaping through the air as their arms wrapped around the villan's neck as he slammed the man into the ground with the villain's throat connecting with their shoulder cutting off their breathing momentarily. "Hit them in the head and knock his ass out" The titan shouted at Freja, fully aware of the hypocrisy of not listening to her while demanding her to do something.
