'Hm. How very frustrating it must be, when one's human does not comply.'

Zen's train of thought often evaded Marlene. First offering her to do something and promising help, then saying he wouldn't! Very frustrating indeed, for a machine, if they could feel such things. Instead she just stared at him with a hint of indignation, being stuck in this T-pose position, arms wide to not fall over. Fortunately, instructions came soon enough, pulling Marlene out of the limbo of indicisiveness. And a smooch, to the nose. The big boy really seemed to like her button nose, of all other things. 

Then he called her a dork again, too!

"Accessing memory storage. Appropriate reply found. No u."

She took his arm, and tried to mimick the motion he made. His was very complex, engaging the hips, the ankles, and all the joints in one's own leg, simultaneously, while pushing with the other. It was a complex motion that required plenty of practice. Marlene was unable to perform just that, at the time. But maybe she could use her rigidity to her own advantage instead. She put her feet together to form a T, with the horisontal part of it behind behind. She used her back foot to push herself forward, and the other one locked in place, to not wobble. The motion managed to propel her a few feet forward.

*CLANK!*

She dug the back foot into the ice again, and stopped dead in her tracks. Then repeated the motion. She managed to move on the ice alright. Just... slowly. And not very gracefully either.

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]Marlene might not have been a human but she sure was as amusing as one of them could be. Sure, her emotions were almost completely muted but anytime a little bit of one shone through it made it all the better, even if expressions that drifted across her face weren't always happy ones. It made him want to seen more but it also made him keenly aware that she was just imitating those emotions, not actually experiencing them, even if she gave the most human response to one's partner calling them a dork.

"Well, you've got it partially right" The titan let out a chuckle as his date slammed her skate into the ice to push off, repeating this process in as a crude method of propulsion. "You're too rigid, its as if you're afraid to fall" Zen smirked "It couldn't be that little miss android is scared of looking foolish right?" The golden boi taunted as he began to skate backwards slowly. "You'll never get anywhere if you're afraid of failing…besides if you fall I'm here to catch you" Zen figured she'd be less embarrassed if she fell into his arms instead of the ice next time.

"Now how about you try to gently kick off the ground not stab it" The golden boi held his arms out "Just try skating to me without stopping or falling…or looking like a dork on general."

"Little miss android has already embarrassed herself in front of an audience."

Marlene stated astutely, nodding towards various people that have been watching them. Some found it hilarious. Others have found it endearing. The automaton did not like failing, though. And she was stubborn, and one-track-minded. She would try again, and again, and again. As many times as it needed.

Zen's instructions were so frustrating though! Trying to describe complex balancing movements with so few of a words. Marlene would try following them, to the best of her ability. Kicking off from the ice towards him. Once more, there was too much force. Half-way towards the guy she would feel herself losing balance, and start flailing with her arms.

*POMF!*

She ended up ramming into him, face-first into her chest. Her eyes going up to look at him. 'He is very patient with me...' - a fleeting thought came through the automaton's mind. 'He must be embarrassed as well by my failures, with so many people looking... by association...' - the eyes went to the side, avoiding his gaze. Marlene straightened herself up.

"I move differently from how humans do. Can you move me the way I ought to move? I will remember it, and try to replicate..." - she said, still averting her gaze.

"As soon as I succeed, I will stop embarrassing you with my ineptitude."

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]Zenkai couldn't help but chuckle again as Marlene's ill-fated attempt at skating landed her right in his arms. It happened quite a bit when someone was trying to skate, same thing happened to him when he was first learning how to do it. The sapphire-eyed titan smiled down and rubbed Marlene's head, completely ignoring everyone else around them. He didn't care if people were staring at them. None of them mattered right now, only Marlene, and teaching her rigid ass how to skate.

"I could never be embarrassed when you're looking so cute" The golden boi responded as he skated behind Marlene, moving close enough that he could feel the cold radiating of her silicon skin. "Though it seems that you are" Zenkai teased as he placed a hand on on of her legs, wrapping the other one around her torso. "You can't even look me in the eye! I never realized you could be so shy, Mar~lene~chan~" Zenkai was slightly embarrassed holding his would be girlfriend in such a way out in public but the fact that she was embarrassed made her easy pray to tease and a helpful distraction.

Zenkai was gentle but firm with his instructions as he moved Marlene's body to imitate what he was doing earlier. He started with one leg and her body before moving onto her other leg, the entire time keeping a tight grip on her body. The entire time he was patient with her, letting her stumble as many times as necessary until she'd get it right. "You know, I'm sure if you had blood running through your body your cheeks would be beet red at this point."

"That is a distinct possibility, yes."

Marlene replied stoically, as she was being moved. It would have been very embarassing indeed, she imagined, with her body held in position, and those hands helping her move her legs in a way that kept the balance. They were probably big enough to wrap around her thighs and move her about like a doll of somekind. It certainly did embarass a few onlookers, bringing redness to their cheeks. The machine endured it, for the sake of better performance.

There was one thing automatons were good at, and it was in replicating motions that did not require deep intellectual or emotional context. After a few demonstrations, Marlene found the point of balance. After a few more, she started to move her skates along, in a way that could propel herself with more grace and fluidity than before. It would require practice still, but she could feel progress. She could feel herself succeeding, slowly, but surely. Something to show for the effort. 

It was ... a pleasant sensation. And she had Zen to thank for it. 

"I think I am starting to get a hang of it." - Marlene said, her hand going to grip against Zenkai's forearm for support. "Keep doing what it is that you do. I intend for us to be the best skating couple by the time we leave here."

An ambitious little automaton. Or maybe she just wanted to show the chuckling onlookers what's what, in time.

It was definitely a little weird that Marlene was so nonchalant about the way he was holding her. Even the titan himself couldn't help but blush as he hand moved along her thigh. It felt like such an intimate moment but from the look and feel of Marlene it just seemed to be just like any other lesson she had taken. She took her notes, made her corrections and continued on as if she hadn't just been manhandled by her would-be boyfriend.

"There you go! See, it's not so hard to skate after all!" The golden boi praised his date as she practiced. As expected the automaton was a quick learner, able to mimic his moves in no time flat once she knew how to move her body properly. She wasn't a figure skater by far but she certainly knew enough now to be able to skate without fear of falling over again.

Zenkai looked down at Marlene as she took his arm in her hand. "Ambitious are we?" The freshman's lips parting to form a sly grin. "You just learned how to skate and you want to be the best around?" It was a tall order and one that Zen was unsure to deliver but he would at least try his best to make her happy. For now he would just enjoy the time they had to skate together now that she wouldn't be falling or stopping every two seconds.

"Yes."

Marlene answered the question about her being ambitious without skipping a beat. As they finished their first round around the skating ring, without her falling over or looking like an ice-chiseling machine, she turned around to face Zenkai, and reached up with both hands. Grabbing his collar again, in an attempt to pull him down to her level. What she ended up doing was pull herself up instead. It was not particularly hard to do. Not with those large hands supporting her rear. Not the softest or the lightest rear around, but still. 

"They have been laughing at my expense, doubting my aptitude as a student, and yours as a teacher. This cannot stand."

She looked into Zenkai's eyes, with a machine-like determination.

"We have to prove them wrong by me becoming superior in a much shorter amount of time. Show me another technique. I will copy it to the best of my ability."

With that, Marlene lowered herself back down, and let go of Zenkai's shirt. She'd make a lap around his tall frame, skating on her own. Simplistic and by no means a master, but the moves she made were exactly like Zenkai showed her. She stopped in front of him, and expectantly waited for him to show her more.

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"] Zenkai couldn't help but chuckle as Marlene grabbed his collar and lifted herself up to look him in the eyes. She was a goofball that was for sure, of course the android would vehemently deny any such accusations but her lack of social awareness in her actions seemed rather clumsy and endearing! For a second the golden boi thought that she was going to give him another kiss in front of everyone, instead she began to explain to Zenkai why they needed to become the best skating couple at the ice rink.

The sapphire-eyed titan was rather distracted by the fact that he had his hands on his would-be girlfriend's bottom but he had could the gist of it. She felt embarrassed and slighted by the people's chuckles and now wanted to show them up. Something Zenkai was more than happy to help her with. Except for the fact that he wasn't really a skater. Sure he knew how to start and stop and skate around but he only knew how because of Hockey, he didn't really know any figure skating moves that might help her.

"Alright, I guess its time to skate backwards?" Zenkai asked, figuring that was one of the few things in his repertoire that might be useful to the automaton. "Just follow my lead I guess? You're a pretty fast learner you know? You've got a pretty good butt" Zenkai had certainly meant to say brain but his mind was still on her tush from when he had to hold her up.

Instead of getting flustered and addressing the mistake, Zenkai began to teach Marlene how to skate backwards albeit with an entirely red face.

"Yes. Compliment my mother for its construction."

Marlene seemed to have taken the compliment in stride. Or maybe she was just used to such sudden and inappropriate comments about herself. She did read all those raunchy novels before Zenkai stopped her by pointing out that everything written in it was rubbish. It might have left a mark.

Soon enough, the two began practicing skating backwards. Like before, the tall giant had to hold Marlene and show her the motions, before she could replicate them. Which meant going a lap or two around the skating ring, passing past all of these people, as she got used to how to do it. Moving backwards felt strange, though, for Marlene. She could not see where she was going. And so...

*CHK-CHINK!*

There was a small whirring sound in her neck, as she turned her head 180 degrees, to see where she was going. The back of her head now tucked under Zenkai's neck. The automaton girl looked forward, and then down, to where the hands were, still holding her rear. The people they passed by, who noticed, seemed to blush, some of them at least. The others were a bit freaked out by the unnatural angle of her head turning. 

"I think they are amazed with our progress."

Marlene drew a completely wrong conclusion.

They had decided not to mention that they didn't even mean to say butt, it just wasn't worth the effort to clarify, especially since Marlene didn't seem to mind. They just sighed and tried to tune out the stares that they were receiving because of course the two of them would be the ones getting stares. To make the situation worse Marlene decided to do the most robotic thing ever and turn her head a full 180 degrees to see while she was skating. It would have been unnerving if it wasn't so hilarious.

The titan let out a chuckle as he looked around at the horrified onlookers. "Yup, they're definitely astounded by how fast you're learning. You've really showed them how much of a better skater you are" Zenkai didn't have the heart to correct their date and was more than happy to let her think that she was getting the revenge that she so desperately sought.

The sapphire-eyed titan was more than happy to continue skating with their would-be girlfriend even if they didn't have anything else to teach her. Unfortunately life seemed to have different plans for the pair. On the far side of the skating rink the Zamboni burst free from its pen and began raging around the rink, swallowing up one poor skater leaving a trail of blood as it drove around the rink. Within seconds the skating rink erupted into chaos as civilians skated and ran for their lives away from the rampaging machine.

With a sigh, Zenkai looked down at his date "I guess you have another chance to show these people that you're better than them" The monkey king bent down to kiss the android on her nose "Unless you'd prefer that I go break it?"
