NAME: Svetlana "Ana" Borovsky
AGE: Nineteen | December 21st
GENDER: Cisgender Woman | She/Her
SEXUALITY: Plotsexual | Taken
COMMUNICATION: English, Russian, Japanese
BIRTHPLACE: Fairbanks, Alaska
AFFILIATION: Student
ALIAS: Bright Eyes (Gen), Little B (Gen)
OCCUPATION: College Sophomore
DEPARTMENT: Department of Support
[attr="class","body"]
Well-educated, but not well-mannered. Ana is a prime example of someone being too smart for their own good and quite often gets in trouble just for fun. She requires extreme amounts of stimulus to keep her from getting into or causing mischief — or a good laser pointer.
Her personality swings between enigma and anathema depending on who is asked and whether or not she's bothered to maintain a mask in the moment to hide her true self. Ana likes being around people and engaging with them, but not connecting. Her IQ presents as higher than her EQ. On her worst days, she comes across as rude or even hostile. On her best days, she is someone who talks a lot without ever saying anything of substance about herself. When pressed to do so, the results tend to be less than favorable or illuminating.
Odd behavior extends beyond the core of Ana's personality, and the fact she is occasionally caught talking or singing to herself, to the hobbies she maintains. The most obvious being her fascination with science and technology. While she loves to tinker with the latter, especially to take it apart, she herself often prefers less digital influence in her personal life. She favors notebooks over note apps, vinyl over music streaming, and even card games over video games though she has been known to throw down quite well in the latter just to make people salty.

HEIGHT: 5'10''
WEIGHT: 141lbs
EYE COLOR: Cyan w/ Interior Magenta Ring & Shifting Pupils
HAIR COLOR: Obsidian
SKIN COLOR: Ivory
IDENTIFIERS: Series of Small Light Panels, Cat Tail & Ears
FACE CLAIM: Sasha Yakovleva, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
VOICE CLAIM: Yelena Belova, Marvel Cinematic Universe
Ana looks like your average young adult of Russian-American descent. Though perhaps a little more stylish with her personal aesthetic choices. Her mutation adds to her deviation from normalcy with odd eyes, an intricate network of small light panels running up and down her body to absorb light for her Quirk, as well as a tail she often hides and a matching pair of cat ears kept pinned down most of the time so that they are hidden beneath her thick but short bobbed hair that tufts out around them.

The Borovsky family history as recorded reads like the most bland story ever. Ana's father had a well paying job as a bank manager. Her mother was a homemaker who spent all of her energy taking care of Ana and her siblings. A rather time consuming task considering there are three of them in total and they were all home schooled in an effort to preserve their core beliefs and culture from when the family immigrated from Russia to Alaska several generations back. At least until Ana was sent off to college in Japan.
It wasn't frustration from Ana's difficult personality that drove her parents to such a decision. Ana attending UA's unparalleled support program was simply the best thing for her prodigious mind and her future. Plans were laid, money was paid, grades were made, and prayers... prayed. Ana passed with little to no outside influence. An uneventful series of events from the outside to be sure.
Her first year at UA passed with only a few minor hiccups in the assimilation process. Between naivety from her upbringing and Ana's very literal take on everything, interactions with other students were often less than pleasant. Yet Ana still managed to forge a couple of deep connections in spite of her difficult personality and settle in nicely for her second year of college where she continues to excel in her chosen field and in being a mischievous enigma.

UA ID - Ana's necessary identification for college. It also gets her student discounts at some businesses.
Cellphone - She mostly uses this to text Gen and look up information on idioms and social cues.
Earbuds - For tuning out stupid people on the go.
Notebook - Filled with Ana's notes and design ideas. Her writing is a blend of languages and grammar that would require someone an excess of time, effort, and know-how to decipher.
Backpack - A bag of holding. Not infinite in storage capacity, but it stores the basics along with some surprise goodies necessary for all the science Ana engages in outside of the laboratories.
Bear - A stuffed penguin.

QUIRK NAME: Aurorakinesis
QUIRK RANK: C
QUIRK TYPE: Mutation/Transformation
QUIRK DESCRIPTION: Aurorakinesis is a very specific form of light manipulation achieved through the use of any and all light absorbed via a network of light panels across Ana's body that then transforms Ana into a permeable light entity which can pass through solid matter by simple virtue of not being physical. This form takes on the appearance of an aurora borealis. Additionally, Ana's eyes are also affected by the mutation aspect, allowing her to see all spectrums of light and in the dark — much like a cat. Which is why Ana also possesses related, but purely aesthetic, mutations in the form of cat ears and a tail.
QUIRK DRAWBACKS: The transformation properties of Aurorakinesis cannot function properly in the total absence of light. However, the light panels on her body can store enough light for a limited time use of the ability for emergencies in a complete blackout situation. Mirrors are another source of frustration for Ana as they will bounce her back. Regular glass and other plain reflective surfaces do not do the same. Additionally, Aurorakinesis cannot outright injure someone in a physical sense given its intangible nature while the transformation is active.

SKILL NAME: Brilliance [Manufacturing]
SKILL RANK: S+
SKILL DESCRIPTION: Clever. Crafty. Curious. Ana can truly be called brilliant. These traits combined with an innate intelligence and guided education allow for Ana to utilize her genius to engage in nigh unparalleled feats of creation. Whether mechanical or digital or anything in between, she has the brains and skills needed to make tech like support gear and more. Just don't pry too deeply into the ethics behind her research and masterpieces.
SKILL NAME: Sub-Specialty — Saboteur [Tech Deconstruction]
SKILL RANK: D-
SKILL DESCRIPTION: The opposite of creation is destruction. When it comes to technology, that destruction requires refinement. Ana is learning how to dismantle objects, hack into systems, and sabotage tech in general.
SKILL NAME: Sub-Specialty — Physician [Healing]
SKILL RANK: D+
SKILL DESCRIPTION: A branch of science as equally beneficial when it comes to supporting Heroes as making performative gear. Ana's knowledge of anatomy allows her to provide an appropriate level of first aid in the field and more detailed medical applications in a laboratory. Her bedside manner absolutely needs work though.
SKILL NAME: Sub-Specialty — Quirk Specialist [Quirk Deduction]
SKILL RANK: D+
SKILL DESCRIPTION: Quirks run the modern world and knowledge is power. So of course Ana is obsessed with learning as much as possible about Quirks. This means she can help many a person understand and deal with the negative side effects of their Quirks or help them learn how to strengthen their innate power further in a laboratory setting Plus it helps being able to breakdown what a Quirk can do and pinpoint its weaknesses to offer effective counter-plays in her role as support in the field or for her own self-defense.
SKILL NAME: Blink [Fighting Style]
SKILL RANK: D-
SKILL DESCRIPTION: A fledgling form of self-defense. By flickering her Quirk on and off, Ana can pop in and out of being a physical form for hard to track phasing in certain environments. This allows her to get in cheap shots in addition to the obvious use of her Quirk for escaping difficult situations that her mouth and manners likely got her into.
