Chihiro took the time to pronounce it out. It was unfamiliar in her mouth, but she knew of the country. "That's in the Americas, right? Uh, southern part? Wow, you're a long way from home...why are you out here?" She wasn't trying to be rude, and her expression mirrored this. She was just insanely curious. "And, uh...I'm actually from the other side of Honshu. I recently moved here to Tokyo, and this place is...well, big. Lot bigger than my small community, haha..." "Interesting...you're an engineer too? You have a lot of control over all of this, it's scary how well detailed it is..." She'd finally let Kishi go, reaching up to tap her chin. "Mama told me to never build something for someone who didn't intend to pay for it. The only one that gets a pass is Masako..." she trailed off. Was she giving away too much? Surely that wasn't too bad. "My expertise is in anything mechanical. Anything that has to be programmed I can't do, so...yeah. But uh, I could take on commissions and the like. I'm missing some important tools right now, and I haven't gotten hold of any materials to use, but that's something I can do in time. If she meant to say it in her head, then why didn't she not know why she said that? What sort of weird train of thought was she on? To make matters worse, Chichi actually understood the random tangents and rails that one could go off of when submersed in thought. What Jackie offered her next caused whatever anxiety she had to go away, lighting up as she took in a deep breath. "Really?! I will love you forever!" As she was tight on cash any offer for free food or drink was going to be readily accepted. It was a little scummy and went against what she was taught, but she also wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth. All she had to do was ignore the weird comment. Which was going to be tricky. But she could try, right? "Chihiro!" She says, offering Jackie a bow. "Chihiro Mitsuba! I'm new to Tokyo." She'd extend back up, tilting her head. "Are you also new? She wasn't exactly bleeding funds, but she wasn't making anything, either. Her sister had a better handle on how things worked on the outside, but she was still learning. Of her allowance, she had already burned through most of it and she still didn't have all the tools she'd need to do all the crafts she wanted to do, let alone materials. She'd have to figure out a way to get the funds to support her need to craft. Whiiiich was easier said than done. She always had everything at her fingertips, and now...well, it was a wakeup call. She couldn't help going to the smoothie place. She couldn't help getting in line. She had developed this bad habit because Tokyo stressed her out and her anxiety was hard to handle, and the best way she knew to handle that was to get a smoothie. Maybe her sister could help? Maybe she knew a place that she could work and expand her craft and- She blinked. Turning to the tanned goddess standing in line, she tilted her head. What in the world was she talking about? 'Newer than burgers'? "U-uh...burgers aren't new," she says, her voice coming in low and barely audible. She wasn't trying to engage, but it was so odd to not remark on it. Jackie Maradona |

| [attr="class","bmsk"] of palm trees and power lines She paled a little, putting her hands up. "N-no, that's fine! I-I-I uh, I-I can't do menial work like that, I'm more of uh uh uh, technician! Engineer? I do a lot of work building things and stuff, and so a flower shop is just uh, a waste! Yeah, a waste..." She had tended gardens back home in her free time, so she wasn't ignorant of plant care. She just had a unique skillset that couldn't be wasted. The appearance of a gauntlet caught her attention though, and for the briefest of moments her eyes glowed a green color...followed by a confused expression. Without any warning she'd reach out to take Kishi's hand, beginning to look it over. "That's so weird...how did you do that? I could have sworn there was nothing there a moment ago, and yet...this is surprisingly well made, but it's not designed to do what you just did. No nanomachines, no seams or mechanized actuators or anything like that...it's just a gauntlet..." She seemed to be so distracted that she glossed over the mango surprise part of Kishi's statement. | [attr="class","bmsk"] of palm trees and power lines The time had come for Chi-chi to realize the sad reality she lived in. She didn't have any money to buy the tools she needed. Her sister unfortunately couldn't set up a forge in their apartment, but it was possible to put in a small workbench so that Chi-chi could do some limited work. They'd have to figure out how to make a much more convenient way to do about their crafts. Unfortunately for now, she couldn't afford to get new tools and she only had limited funds for which to work with. She was encouraged to get a job or sell her services to others, but she couldn't quite bring herself to do that. Hence her current dilemma: walking through a tool shop with all kinds of nice new shiny things inside, and not a yen to buy something. Some of the fancier things she would deconstruct with her quirk, getting a good mental image of them, but that only reinforced just how bad she wanted some of these things...this was definitely a dilemma. Y-you got it all wrong, I'm just...see, my family lives on the other side of Honshu, and my sister got an apartment here in Tokyo and I said, 'you know, it'd be cool if I could move in with her!' And so I asked my parents, and they were okay with it, and now I'm here and Tokyo is a really big place and I am regretting so many decisions right now..." She slumped a little, groaning internally. "I ah...also don't have a phone...I haven't been able to afford one. Or even a little GPS device. But I could probably make something for navigation...? I just need the right parts and- wait a minute, did you say police?" That was bad news. Well, it wasn't great news, but she just had to run through what was practiced once upon a time ago. Except...it didn't seem like she needed to? "Um. I mean...aren't you like obligated to do something if there was trouble...? Not to tell you how to do your job, just...uh..." She looked away, scratching her head. "That just seems kinda counterintuitive..." The list was incredibly bizarre to say the least. There was at least three hardware stores, a tool shop, two electronic places, and an abundance of bakeries, cafes, and places to eat. They would all be focused in the current district they were in, but they obviously blanketed a large area. Though an odd note would be on one smoothie place that said, 'Best Mango Surprise ever!' She wasn't used to this and she wasn't anticipating someone would do something like that. She had to first look this way and that to make sure that whoever this was wasn't trying to get someone else's attention, before looking again to her and her face turning a deep red. "S-sorry! Ahm, are you talking...t-to me?" She gave a slight bow, trying to run the possibilities through her head. "Um...I don't think so? I mean, this is Tokyo, right? I should be in the right place!" She holds up her list again, running through all the names on it. "But...uh. It's big...like super big...um. Could you...maybe, possibly, give me directions of where to go...?" She definitely seemed native. By the looks of things she was probably from out of town; not the countryside, because she spoke a little too formally for that. | [attr="class","bmsk"] of palm trees and power lines This place was overwhelming, to say the least. She had hardly ever left her family home when she was there, barely interacted with anyone outside of her family, barely even knew there was a world outside. She was always forbidden from leaving the house, and didn't understand it since Masako was always allowed to wander about. In fact, she was surprised that they let her leave the house and move in with her older sister. Weird. Maybe they thought she'd never leave the house? But that couldn't be right. She told Masako she was going to go out exploring, and probably sensing that Chihiro needed some stops gave the girl a list of places she could visit. Even when she arrived, it was all so overwhelming, but today it looked like there were more people than she could have ever imagined! She held the list up to her face, rubbing her chin. She didn't know what to expect from some of these different places, but she was determined to go visit each and every one of them before the day was out, even if it killed her! Except she hoped it didn't really kill her, that'd be bad...anyways, it was time to start the newest adventure in her life! |

If there is one word to summarize Chihiro, it's "invisible". That isn't the case, she just isn't all that big. This is strange considering her sister is much bigger than she is. [attr="class","body"] [attr="class","header2"]HISTORY The Mitsuba family traces its lineage to the smiths during the time of the Shogunate, strong and reliable throughout the ages crafting the deadliest weapons in all of Japan. After the Great War the direction of the country shifted, forcing the family to go underground and continue the craft in secret. While members would still be part of society and participate, they took up a vow of secrecy when it came to their goals: to manufacture the perfect weapon to wage the next war. The introduction of quirks only furthered their goals…...and Chihiro is not the selected weapon. The youngest child of the eldest heir to the Mitsuba family, Chihiro has unintentionally become the black sheep of the family. Her older sister Masako is hailed to be that next great weapon: strong, intelligent, with a talent for forging and a quirk that can assist her in the shaping and molding of molten metal, her older sister has had little to no opposition in becoming the best and brightest of her generation. To rub salt in the wound her younger cousins are doted on and held in high esteem, her grandfather going so far as to tell them that, in the event Masako fails, they will have to work together to bring the world under the rule of the Emperor (to which they promptly say that Masako can do it with one arm tied behind her back). Despite all this, she has been confided in by her older sister on several occasions: she has no desire to be the next heir to the family. She is convinced that the family's traitor has an heir, and any day now they will walk through the door to take up the reigns and bring the nation into the next golden age. Chihiro, however, has her own plans. With her quirk and her talents, she has endeavored to build enough equipment to make her the most formidable warrior anyone has ever seen. The problem, unfortunately, is that few in her own family refuse to give her the tools to make this happen; ironic, considering the family's focus. But she will always find a way. With Makaso moving to Tokyo in order to find better work Chihiro has strived to move in with her, creating a small tinkerer's shop in their apartment in an effort to continue to learn and improve her craft.
