Even if there was implications of what exactly they were going to do together, Kysaly didn't feel pressured. It wasn't one sided or that someone was giving more than the other, which made for a fair and equal experience between them.
"And you as well." The slight touch at their ankle made them jump a bit, unsure of how to react in such a public place. They'd lead their leg into it, propping their head up on their hand and staring over him. He sure was pretty, and well out together. In moments like these, it felt weird to just be so captivated by someone just for being a person.

When Nobu asked about their hands, there was a mixed reaction on their face. Kysaly loved the touch, but didn't like that it was tainted by their pain. "They were warm, and rough. Kysaly had learned a few words when they were in Canada, but those were mostly medical terms that were said during surgeries. From what was heard, it wasn't a language that Kysaly had a huge passion for just yet.
When Nobu offered his hand, Kysaly hesitated. It wasn't that they didn't want to hold his hand, but they'd feel things that they didn't want to think about right now. With a smile, they would move to put their gloves back on, but decided not to. "I would like to a lot." A quick hand squeeze, before they would fully grab on and take whatever emotions came at them. "I mean, I would be honored to be able to do something like that with you." Waking up in the morning to someone was always a nice sentiment.
As they focused in on their emotions and pain, Kysaly tried to keep a straight face. It was hard to hold onto someone and to be able to see how much pain they were in. The roughness of their hands, the small aches and pains that they had. There was also pleasure though, the warmth of their hands together, the beating of his heart. It made Kysaly blush, but they tried not to make it obvious.

I think that it needs more practice. My job has helped me a lot." In reality, both of their jobs have helped them in nailing down the dialect and what it should should like. "I appreciate it though, I'll let you know if I need some help." Kysaly was fine to handle things on their own, even if it didn't look like it. Sometimes, just touching someone and telling them their exact injury and how life threatening it was, was enough to freak anyone out.
With them getting a kiss blown their way, they would just blush a bit embarrassed. Doing PDA was a new thing for Kysaly; most of the time, they were just some person's side piece or a fling that was kept in secret. Kysaly honestly couldn't remember the last time they were in a real relationship, or that someone was proud to show them off.
"I see, hopefully I get to see it sometime." Kysaly would muse, getting out of the awkwardness of their thoughts and re-directing their attention to Nobu once more. "When it comes to a golden ticket, I'm not sure. I think I live pretty modestly. Perhaps going to a designer fashion show could be very cool." A playful wink, but the second they turned around they'd realize just how bold they were being. For some reason, it became easier for them. Nobu made it easier, even if they didn't know why or how.
Kysaly would follow Nobu into the place, nodding and saying thank you in the same dialect that Nobu had used. Sitting down more comfortably after adjusting their dress, Kysaly would pick out some unagi and tuna. "Yes, I do. I actually live in my storer, surprisingly." Below the café was their doctor's office, as well as their house. "It's been alright. I think people are still a bit apprehensive of me because I don't really look Japanese, nor do I know anyone really all that well here. It's been hard to get close to people." Kysaly was being honest, since that was the best thing.

As easy as it would be to go fast with him, Kysaly was glad that things were going slow. It made it more obvious that Nobu cared when everything wasn't a rush and that there was thought and consideration placed into what they were doing between them. He was a gentleman, not like some of the younger people Kysaly had been around that made them feel like they were just a plaything for the weekend. "No worries, I understand and agree with you." There was no reason to rush, he would be there if he wanted to be there.
The kiss on their hand made their face light up. Kysaly would gently swing their hands together, occasionally squeezing his hand if he was going too fast or too slow. As they got to the place, Kysaly would lean a bit to look into the place, before looking back at Nobu. "It looks nice, and yeah, I drink a little." It was never enough to get drunk, but just enough to let the edge off. "And yourself, what is your liquor of choice?" He was intriguing, and more bold than they could ever imagine. Kysaly never wanted to assume that anyone was into them, but it felt like Nobu was actually interested. Sometimes, it was hard to tell if someone was doing it for attention or to get a reaction out of them. Maybe Nobu wanted to just play with Kysaly, but it felt that it wouldn't make much sense for there to be such an elaborately long con when Kysaly may have went to sleep with him on the first day they saw him.
As Nobu got close, they'd stay still, looking over him once more with their eyes before he pulled away from their reach. "I'm glad. I was expecting you to not come back. You know, it's easy to tease me and not give anything, I was a bit disheartened not to get anything back." Kysaly was mostly talking about how Kysaly had kissed him and not gotten a kiss back. "It made me think that perhaps you had second doubts, or maybe that you were too nervous for me." A smirk, before they'd turn their head to finish the cleaning fast.
Kysaly wasn't usually this bold, but something about having to be confident through their job. Kysaly felt his eyes on them, watching them without a care with every movement that they did. They would sniff the air a bit, smelling something sweet that most have been coming from Nobu. He looked good, he smelt good, he was good, right? Maybe that would be told with time, but for now Kysaly was entranced by him. "Stare at me?" They'd blink, almost perplexed by the idea as if it was something that shouldn't happen. He was going to stare at them because he was interested; that thought didn't truly process into Kysaly's mind. "You're welcome to it." They tucked some hair behind their ear, side-eyeing him as he started to move closer.
As he leaned closer to them, Kysaly would purposefully lean back onto them, almost so that his chin could go on their shoulder. "It's fine, I was going to close up anyways soon. It's been pretty slow today. All I really need to do is make sure everything is off and cleaned." It wasn't everyday that they were actually attracted to someone, and that something actually felt like it could happen. Kysaly was a fickle person, someone that didn't get close to those unless it was necessary. Even for customers, most of the time they were seen as just that, someone that enjoyed the coffee or sweets that they offered and nothing more. People were too busy to do much more than say a compliment or to be a repeat customer. Most of the time, they paid no mind to Kysaly as their importance was lesser than the things they created.
It was different with Nobu though, because it felt like they came in for the coffee and sweets, but wanted to stay for Kysaly instead. When they thought about it, it made their stomach wiggle with excitement. It was something special to have someone to want to look good for. Because of that, Kysaly had taken to wearing dresses these last few days. It was nothing that they couldn't work in, but it was something that they felt would for sure attract his attention. They placed a small orange flower clip in their hair as they waved off their last customer. As they looked towards the door, Kysaly felt their cheeks redden a bit. They looked at the time, then back at Nobu. "Um, yeah, sure." They looked around a bit, patting themselves as if they were looking for something. Most of their life had been having their face in books to study, so being faced with someone so forthright was a welcome surprise. Kysaly froze a bit at his movements, but kept their body still like a statue. It was easy to get carried away, which was not something Kysaly should be doing with a man they'd known for a few minutes. A professional like Kysaly was of course, better than that.
"Alright, I'm here every day, so come around when it's best for you. I'll make time." It would be pretty way to close up the shop if needed, as they didn't have enough foot traffic go have to always keep their doors open for all of their hours.
Around the corner, huh? Kysaly would smirk at the thought, realizing that Nobu was a lot more surprising that they had originally thought. Having taken his order, Kysaly could not have anticipated something like this happening.
As he leaned in, Kysaly felt their body slowly dip closer to Nobu, their head moving as if to catch a glimpse of his mouth on their ear. Then, they snapped back to reality; they couldn't play so easy to get, not now. Though their cheeks were flushed, Kysaly would boldly give him a kiss on the cheek, before taking a step back to allow some much needed space. "If you're good, you'll get a kiss on your lips. One lie after another, until there was hardly anything left for themselves to know if auting was true. Honesty was important, maybe even the most important.
Because of that reason, Kysaly found themselves a bit distraught by his next words. For a moment, Kysaly perked honest the idea of themselves being interesting enough for someone to court. Almost immediately afterwards, they'd deflate, realizing that they were referring to a good coffee joint to go to. You couldn't see it on Kysaly's face, but they were internally pouting.
The mixed signals were confusing then a bit too much, with the wink and the man standing over them giving them a shock as to what to feel. They hadn't dated since college, and even then it was usually drunken flings for a good time. Is that what Nobu wanted? Did he want someone convenient? Why the hell was Kysaly even caring? They'd shake their head, trimming to remove the thoughts from their mind. Kysaly was a business person, so they needed to play the game. Kysaly would stand, being meer inches away from the position that Nobu had taken over them. "It was a pleasure to make your acquaintance. What was this situation? Even Kysaly didn't know. They liked Nobu, but that like could easily be the hospitality talking and nothing more. "People have very bold opinions and I think from that it makes it easier to figure out that you're not on either extreme." Kysaly didn't need to be a somebody to be important.
After hearing his side of things, Kysaly just nodded along, feeling that at the very least, they'd like to see Nobu again. "And you as well, thanks for telling me. It's not easy to be honest with someone like that." With a bit of hesitation, they continued. "I really wasn't expecting you to ask something like that- are you trying to court me?" Asking their views of heroes wasn't something that usually started a conversation.
"My mother is from Japan, and I came here a few times when I was younger, but it isn't my home. I grew up in Canada, which is where my father is from. Yourself?" Nobu didn't know about Kysaly's other job, but the sentiment still felt good no matter what job he was replying about. "I wanted to make sure that I learn in a way that allows me to do what I need to, without so much worry about being bad or getting fired." There was always a worry, or maybe even a fear, that Kysaly would mess up again. They'd fidget with their hands, feeling a bit naked without their regular gloves on.
"I hope so, I'm sure that it will continue to, I'm pretty determined." They weren't the type to give up unless they actually had to for other reasons. With the question that they were asked, they hesitated with their movements and reaction. After a few seconds, the tension in their hands would release and they'd refocus their energy onto an answer. "I think that they are people, like you and me, and don't need to be glorified. I'm not one for really liking putting people on a higher position. I am all for congratulating and praising them, but I do not like when egos get too inflated, or that their position in society gets glorified. I'm happy for what they do, and will for sure offer them a free drink or something, but I won't make them out to be a god or something more than mortal, no matter their quirk." Kysaly would clear their throat a bit, looking away in embarrassment. "T-Thank you." Kysaly wished that their hair was long enough to fully hide their eyes, but they had to be professional. Looking back to Nobu, they would make sure to keep eye contact with him. "All natural, of course." Their grip on their own hands would tighten, as if trying to distribute the nervousness to their hands instead of their shoulders.
"A freelancer? That's nice. It's good to see someone working for themselves- I of course like that in a person." It was nice to make your own rules and hours, to make your own life like Kysaly was. "I hope it's going well for you then, I know it can be difficult."
"Me as a person? Well, I suppose someone that wanted a fresh start, another chance, maybe." They'd bite on their lip, as if wanting to keep their answer a bit more vague for the time being. "I had to leave where I was and this was something I'd always wanted to do, so I thought- why not do it in Japan?" With a little more leaning in, they adjusted in their seat to make sure that their apron was flat. "People say that I'm kind, brave, or both. All of their attention was on Nobu, which could make it seem like Kysaly was giving him special treatment. In reality, it wasn't that way at all, or at least they didn't want it to be. At the same time, it was hard not to. Nobu was charismatic in a way that was intoxicating, even if Kysaly wasn't trying to get too comfortable.
When the seat was offered, they'd look around for a moment before sitting down with a good posture. "Nobu Igarashi is a really nice name." It suited him, whatever that meant. "I'm glad that you like it here, it's still a bit of a work in progress here. I don't have a background in baking or making coffee." They'd tuck some of their hair behind their ear, trying to think of what types of conversations would come up between them.
"Oh, too much ginger? Yeah, I think it clumped a bit before I noticed when I put it in. Maybe that made a big difference." They'd place their hands on the table in front of them, trying to match the energy and attentiveness of Nobu. "You can take as much time as you'd like- of course, until I get someone else in here." You don't see many café fashion models." It was definitely something that Kysaly had considered, but to them having three jobs would be even more than they could handle. Kysaly smiled at the comment about his hair, giving a nice impressed nod to the note that they both had natural hair. "I guess we are just cool like that." God, was Kysaly 18? That sounded so lame. They internally cringed a bit at the words.
"Oh, the cup? They're handmade from a friend of mine, each one unique." They beamed a proud smile, followed up by another, perhaps awkward giggle. "I see, well it's good that this 'Nobu' is honest, yes?" Nobu seemed like a name that fit him, whether it was his actual name or an alias. "I promise I won't be too upset if they're bad."
With a thumbs up that the coffee was at least good, they breathed a noticeable sigh of relief. It hadn't been too long since Kysaly had switched over to a house blend for the coffee that was served, so there was always some speculation on their part if that choice would be met with good reviews. Even if Nobu was the only one that liked it, it gave Kysaly hope that they could improve their craft to the needs and tastes of their patrons.
Kysaly would place the cookies on a mismatched looking plate; it was littered with colorful dots and what seemed like a lop-sided heart in the middle. "Another original. My attempt at painting didn't go as well." They'd place it confidently on his table nonetheless, spinning the plate so that the heart was facing towards him. With Nobu's comment, Kysaly blinked a bit in disbelief. Right, their name, that was normal information... So why did it feel so strange to give out. "It's Kysaly. Kysaly Sato." They'd place their hands in front of them, waiting patiently like some maid awaiting orders to leave. At Nobu's reaction to the cookies, they had to stop themselves from grinning ear to ear! Oh shit, he actually liked it? But... The ends were a bit burnt and they were sure that it was far too sweet... They were things that needed to be perfected of course, but it seemed that they were on the right track for greatness. "Thank you for saying that, it's still getting perfected, but your compliments give me hope in perfecting it." In real Japanese mannerism, they'd bow curtly.
