''Really?'' She put her hand over her mouth as she let out a soft chuckle. ''And no one noticed? How long have you been working there?'' She turned back to the file she was going through, putting it away as she looked for traces of the name Nemo. ''I don't blame you, it probably doesn't come as a surprise, but I'm not very book smart.'' She admitted it with a laugh, thus were the consequences of dropping out of school early and only picking up life skills from being on the road all the time.

The note about Nemo being Latin for Nobody would have gone over her head completely if it wasn't for Mark's explanation. Although she had to agree, for him to name himself that, did that mean he wanted to be found, and if so, was he trying to lure Mark into a trap? ''Eh? That's how you do it in America, huh?'' She couldn't help but giggle again at his overall attitude. He was nothing like how she imagined all those heroes she had heard about on the radio and on television, but she liked him all the more for it.

''For me?'' She stood up and stretched her arms over her head, letting out a small sigh. ''It was pretty peaceful, but also really boring. I lived in a remote place with my parents and we didn't have any neighbors. I'm an only child too, so I didn't have any other kids to play with growing up.'' She didn't sound sad at all as she recounted her past, and in fact kept a somber smile on her face as she continued looking. ''Every now and then, travelers would stop by and rest at our Inn. That's how I got to hear about the world around me.'' She paused and looked back at Mark. ''What was it like for you growing up?''

Kokoro glanced up at Mark, letting him lead the conversation with the secretary for a bit until the attention fell on her and her swords. Oops, maybe she wasn't as covert as she thought. She smiled back at the secretary and bowed her head politely. Anything to make herself seem more amiable and less like a direct threat. ''We hate to interrupt you during your lunch, Miss, but we are on urgent business. As my partner here just said we won't be around for long.'' She didn't want to talk too much and risk exposing their plans. After all, Mark told her he would be doing most of the talking.

''However, if you don't let us in willingly we will have to file a report and list that your establishment was uncooperative and got in the way of official Interpol business.'' She was no stranger to faking identities, but impersonating Interpol? Mark really didn't mess around. She stayed silent for now so that he could chime in with anything he needed to say, and so she could wait for a response from the secretary.

Kokoro was willing to resort to actual threats of violence, or straight up violence if it came down to it, but she was going to play it cool so long as Mark's real identity was at the risk of leaking.

She stood on her toes for a moment as they kissed, enjoying it for the brief few seconds she could before getting comfortable in her seat next to him. Would it be too much if she leaned on him too? They weren't in disguise as a couple after all. ''Smart! ~ Target them where they are staying.'' It wasn't something she would have thought to do, but then again she didn't really have the resources to go into all that. Not without breaking another couple of laws in the process first.

She pulled her glasses up, putting them in her hair as she looked over the paper he handed her. ''You're really trusting me with something so important?'' She teased him, nudging into him playfully. ''Aren't you living life dangerously?'' She giggled before she opened it and realized the contents of the paper were so dense she wouldn't get it even if she took hours to parse through it. She just sat there in stunned silence for a couple of seconds before she spoke again. ''This is a lot, you read all this already?'' She sifted through the pages, noticing the things he had highlighted and circled for her. ''Hence the disguises?'' After all, Lone Wolf the hero bending the law to get results? Sure, he might arrest some villains because of it, but she knew heroes and the government were all about rules so she doubted he would get that much leeway from up high.

''I see.'' She took the book and looked it over before smiling up at him. ''So you brought me along to the be eye candy? ~ But I can't compete with you.'' She winked before pulling her shades back down. ''When are we heading out?''

''Mess up your face? Nothing could ruin such a youthful and pretty face.'' She smiled at Jingjing. Flattery was the best way to get people to do what you wanted them to, and if her friend really did get injured getting them out of here she would just pay her medical bills later. ''I never doubted you for a second, Hydra-chan.'' Even if Tamaya was telling obvious lies she didn't see through them, not this time in any case. Besides, she didn't exactly know how strong Mai was, but she would have to be pretty strong to be able to content with someone like Tamaya.

''How unlucky of that guy to be stationed here as the guard. ~'' She giggled as she stepped out of the cell following Tamaya's charge. Case in point, she made short work of criminals like him. ''Yoink.'' She gleefully picked up the gun Tamaya had tossed aside and admired it for a moment before taking aim at the next criminal that came their way. The man was on his way to attack Tamaya, but froze when the gun was pointed at him as Kokoro walked up calmly to close the distance. ''My swords. Take me to them pretty please.''

''You don't have the guts to-''

Without hesitating Kokoro had shot two bullets into his right and left leg, making him collapse. Grabbing him by his hair, she hoisted him back up, wearing that same calm smile as always. ''I said 'pretty please' you know.'' She pressed it up to his forehead this time. ''I get it, I get it! I'll show you!'' He pleaded. ''Okay girlies, I'll be joining back up with you in a moment. Don't worry I can handle myself.''

Shirayuki Tamaya, Jingjing

''Oh, you already are, don't even worry about it!'' She chuckled, waving her hand dismissively at Saori. When Spectre joined them she turned to face her with a smile. ''Oh my! The pleasure is all mine. Your costume is divine, isn't it, Weaver?'' She looked at the moth expectantly, waving at other vigilantes she didn't recognize as they joined them and their swiftly forming group. ''Sparkle! What a wonderful name, is it emblematic of your energetic nature? I can't help but notice that your smile sparkles too!'' Or well, at least it did once you looked past the pretzels she was cramming into her face.

Then another! One by one interesting characters came into the picture. The Dracula costume had to be one of her personal favorites present so far. ''You look so dignified! Are you out for blood tonight, Raiden-san?'' She grinned, awaiting his answer while she took a sip of her drink. She was about to reply to Saori that she was loving the party so far, when another guy joined the fray. ''A vote? '' She looked around at everyone and then back to the stranger. Greeting Hymn with a polite smile, Kokoro stepped forward. ''Sir, that's really creepy. You should watch how much you drink at a party like this if you can't hold your liquor.'' Whether the others engaged in the vote or not didn't matter to her, but she wasn't entertaining this creep for a second. Turning to Spectre with a smile she took another small sip of her drink. ''Spectre-san, what would you say your specialty is?''

''Taboo? That's one way to put it. From watching TV I always thought heroes were more strict in their view of the law and how they applied it.'' She let her fingers dance playfully across his chest, looking at them as she continued. ''You know, you're surprisingly noble, Mark? Wanting to help me despite who I really am. Some heroes may disagree with you, but to me, that already makes you a hero.'' Halfway through her sentence she looked up at him. It was one thing to feel safe because you were sleeping under a roof and eating until you were full.

But she couldn't remember the last time she felt safe in someone's arms.

So Mark, the hero known as Lone Wolf was loyal to his own goals, and not necessarily the Heroes Association? That was her takeaway from the way he phrased it. Maybe they had more in common than she first thought... She was labeled a vigilante, but she didn't consider herself to be one necessarily. She was just a wanderer, a traveler on a journey.

''I see.'' She smiled, having somehow expected a less favorable proposition. ''It's a bit of quid pro quo, then? It isn't the first time I've been asked to track down a person for someone else.'' Normally she didn't care all too much about who died so long as they weren't civilians, but for him she could make an exception. ''No deaths, I'll find your brother and you can help me look for a way to travel back in time.'' She brightened up as she shifted a bit in her seat, putting her legs on either side of him as she faced him. ''We'll both accomplish our goals.'' She snuck her hands up to gently cup his face. Gauging his reaction for a moment. ''And no one else needs to know about our secret alliance.''

Closing her eyes, she leaned in to kiss him.
