[attr="class","header1"]THE WIND-RIDING HERO, CYCLONE!
[attr="class","header2"]OVERVIEW
» NAME: Kazehiro Tanaka
» AGE: 19
» GENDER: Male
» AFFILIATION: Hero
» ALIAS: “Cyclone”, “Kaze”
» OCCUPATION: 1st-Year college Student
» CLASS: Department of heroes
[attr="class","body"]
Reckless and stubborn, but friendly and loyal, Kazehiro Tanaka is the type you’d want to have as your friend…just maybe not as a leader. He cares a lot about keeping everyone happy and having the easiest life he can, though this often leads to a degree of people pleasing in his behavior, even if you wouldn’t necessarily be able to tell. As a hero, the ability to make people happy and smile is of great benefit, but not everyone is as easy to please elsewhere in life.
Having had a relatively easy life up until now, Kazehiro is not someone who is used to having to struggle or think quickly on his feet; as such, he can be quite reckless at time, often acting first and thinking after. This is a personality trait which shows not just in battle, but in his everyday life too. When faced with a difficult conversation or a new situation, there is often little foresight from Kazehiro and he is eager to just do something, anything, to change the situation.
Though Kazehiro does not care much about his physical appearance, he does give a lot of thought to how he will be perceived by others. This is why his current biggest plight is figuring out why he wants to be a hero. Truthfully, he has never really had to think about it before and was somewhat pushed into Heroism by his parents…telling people “I just like it.” never sounds like a good enough conviction, and so the path to figuring out his own beliefs and grounds for fighting is one he takes very seriously.

» HEIGHT:182 cm
» WEIGHT: 152lbs
» EYE COLOR: Yellow
» HAIR COLOR: White with purple streaks
» SKIN COLOR: White
» FACE CLAIM NAME: Drayton
» FACE CLAIM SERIES: Pokemon (Gen 9/Scarlet and violet)
Standing relatively tall, Kazehiro is a relatively slim man who may outwardly appear very lazy with regards to his appearance. He is often seen wearing sweatpants and more casual sports clothes, and this is how he likes it. “They allow me to move freely, like the wind.” He’d tell you. Though he has been known to dress up for more formal occasions for the sake of keeping up outward appearances, dressing like that in his everyday life is not a thing the boy finds enjoyable.
Strangely, Kazehiro’s white hair is set with streaks of purple just like his Mother’s. Nobody has ever really been able to tell him if it’s just a genetic thing or if this comes as a result of his quirk, but it any case it is a feature the boy is not afraid to show off. He carries the same shade of purple into his hero costume, which consists of him donning a long purple cape and tying his wingsuit around his waist over his regular sweatpants and sports clothes, ready to put on if necessary. With a quirk like his, nothing too technical has ever been needed to show off.
It is also not unusual to find the boy covered in cuts and bruises from his training, as he is acutely aware that he may be behind his classmates who, unlike him, have had years to hone their skills.

Kazehiro never wanted to be a hero…but he didn’t not want to be a hero, either. The truth is, he never really cared.
Born to a relatively normal family, life had always been easy for Kaze. He had always been fortunate enough to not have to struggle for money, or housing, or even in education with grades and the like. His family were not entirely wealthy or super smart by any means…but they have always been comfortable. Others would jump at the chance for this mundane life, and Kazehiro never had any reason to complain, for he was happy. But as the boy grew accustomed to the ease of life, he grew complacent. Bored. Lazy.
In his early teenage years, he began to face the one question every teenager loathes: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Truthfully, the boy didn’t know. He hadn’t had to think that far ahead before, and given that everything had always just come easily to him, he was quite confident in his ability to achieve whatever he set his mind to. By age 15, his peers had pretty much chosen a path for themselves, but he couldn’t choose; Doctor, Businessman, Accountant…Hero.
He spent countless nights staring at his ceiling, paralyzed with the freedom of choice. What should he do with his life? How could he even choose? “If you don’t make a decision, we’ll choose for you!” his parents told him. And that they did.
Kazehiro could never tell if his parents were just being hopeful, or if they were trying to push their child into things they wish they had done themselves, but they decided to enroll their son in a week-long ‘introduction to heroics’ course when he was 16. For the first time in his life, the boy found himself a challenge, and he enjoyed it. Each day was different, and he found that being able to use his quirk so freely in an environment like that was something he really enjoyed. For seven days, he rescued dummies, fought ‘villains’, and truly found something he enjoyed. But the seven days passed quickly, and the course soon came to an end.
His parents hoped that the course would ignite something in him, and that it did, but Kazehiro was a lazy teenager; he did not pursue heroics, despite enjoying it, and instead spent the next two years studying general ed. When he was 18, Kaze had to choose a university to attend. As expected, he took his time considering his options, but a chance encounter forced his hand…
On his way to school early one morning, before the world was awake, Kaze saved someone’s life. It was only a simple saving; the boy had seen a clumsy, awkward person fall in the road ahead of him and rushed in to pull them out of oncoming traffic, using his quirk to support him and move the civilian. He felt adrenaline course through every muscle, and he was instantly taken back to that hero course. He felt free, alive, finally. “You should be a hero, kid! That was amazing!” the civilian said, not knowing just how much of an effect it would have on Kazehiro.
“A hero. I should be a hero.”
Skipping his first class of the day, Kaze quickly applied to UAU. He completed entrance exams. He studied. He Practiced. The boy did everything he could to make sure he would get in…and he did! Was it luck? A miracle? He didn’t know. The path to becoming a hero meant not knowing a lot of things…could he even commit to that? Later that same year, he was enrolled and began his training and quickly grew to enjoy it. There was just one feeling he couldn’t seem to shake, deep down, he didn’t really know why he wanted to be a hero…

EQUIPMENT NAME: Windwalker Wingsuit
EQUIPMENT RANK: C-
EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER: Meiji Gadget Commision Agency
EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION: Kazehiro’s wingsuit is exactly what it sounds like: A purple garment which, when activated by the push of a button on his bely, wraps itself around his back. Flaps of sturdy fabric pop out from under his armpits when the boy opens his arms, allowing him to glide through the air as he moves. It should be noted that Kazehiro’s wingsuit cannot provide any kind of propulsion, and instead simply allows him to maneuver through the sky after being lifted off of the ground by other means.

QUIRK NAME: Vortex breath
QUIRK RANK: C+
QUIRK TYPE: Mutation
QUIRK DESCRIPTION: The quirk-user’s lungs and throat have mutated, giving them enhanced breathing capabilities; they are capable of inhaling to create a powerful vortex of air which sucks objects towards them, or exhaling out incredibly strong winds to blow things away from them. Moreover, the user’s lungs are more expansive than those of a normal person’s, and as a result they can hold their breath for an extended period of time.
QUIRK DRAWBACKS: The user is unable to use this quirk in a vacuum or spaces where they cannot inhale (eg underwater). The quirk user is also likely to inhale debris, which can damage them if they are not careful. Finally, if they go too far over their limit, the quirk user will be short of breath for a time and will find that they will have difficulty exercising without becoming out of breath.
