Masao struck Enma as an a bright mind of great potential beyond being another of the Ando company. Names meant a lot, but it was an important lesson that the individual meant the most. Thinking between Papa Arashi and Enma's father, their stark contrast, he was certain that this lesson was true. From the clean design of the blade to the keen nature of how she spoke, Enma was thoroughly impressed and happy to be invited into such a venture. To his own expertise, he had known that some details could only be understood through application instead of the theoretical. Many swordsmiths were trained warriors, but likely to simply have a deeper understanding of the necessities in making a blade. "I can assure you, my finesse with my blade can bring a lot to the table for a mind like yours." Oblivious to what meaning could be contrived from what he said, he continued on seriously. Setting his sword on the table and undoing the satin cloth that masked its appearance, he would reveal Raiju in its pristinely maintained glory. It hadn't seen true combat, but even if it had, his quirk kept it looking like new. From the pitch black, starless night polish of the sheathe to the pale blue wolf chasing its own tale in the tsuba, it was a work of art. Slowly opening it, the less-than-shiny, intentionally pale blade was like soft moonlight. Nothing too bright, nothing harsh or unpleasant. The beauty of a katana. "I appreciate wanting to be the best at something. The better you are, the more control you have over it. It's a good feeling to be skilled. By gracing me with your craft, I would happily offer myself as a training partner so that way we may see the frontline together in due time." Nodding, Enma felt his words getting away from himself. There was almost a smile, but as quickly as it came it had faded. Unnerved by the prospect of his quirk being observed, he didn't like the showboating his father did to market his sporting goods. He didn't like the idea of attention, but if it was for someone who could appreciate its nuance, then he wouldn't mind. "My quirk has a delicate, harmless front. But really, it turns any blade I wield into a portrait and an indomitable, undying force. You needn't worry of it befitting my power, but I don't know what lengths it will change what you give me. Still, I will make sure to show your creations the same love and respect as I show my grandfather's sword."Stepping back, he nonverbally invited Masao to inspect the sword. A gesture he hadn't ever considered before, but he also hadn't ever found someone who shared such interests with him. It was new, scary, yet exciting. Masao Ando

Enma internally cried when it came to the whims of these two people. He was trapped, he already impulsively offered to stick around and now he didn't want to be known as a mean person. While he didn't care for social hierarchy, a bad reputation was not good for the necessary connections a hero needed in the field. He'd rather leave the school being a respected figure and not a feared one. That was reserved for the villains. They were introducing themselves, which meant that in the future there could be unsolicited high-fives or superficial smiles he'd have to reciprocate. It was going to ache, but at least he could focus on explaining how he conditions himself. Turning on the machine, the mechanics whirred as the feed connected to it. He'll give his father credit, they were well-designed and advanced. Connecting the remote launcher, he went over to the designated batting spot. "You use this to initiate the launch. It shoots the ball in a way that simulates a pitcher realistically. There's a few settings on it, but I have it on basic and tuned for my strength." Striking a still batter's pose, he put the trigger on the ground and pressed his foot into it. "It launches at the speed setting with a small variance and you..." Colliding ball to bat, there was a concussive sound as the ball was sent soaring into the sky. "...strike! Like any workout, the resistance will test your strength and you'll condition for harder and harder blows. Necessary when puncturing the armor of a villain." Almost as if he forgot to introduce himself, he waited to initiate the next shot. "Arashi Enma, Second-Year in the Department of Heroes." Demonstrating a few more powerful swings, he stepped away and gestured for either one of them to take his place. "You all are welcome to try."Wendy Mafdet Khepri

The oddity and marvelous unique nature of the sword had captivated Enma. He hadn't seen anything like it before. All his life, he had learned the history of the weapons employed by samurai and shinobi of the Arashi clan that his grandfather revered. Yet, this wondrous contraption was a completely new idea he had never thought of. The sword would be perfect for tearing through the toughest of armors, the silkiest of clothes and the toughest of skins. The villain-cleansing it could do filled his heart with unusual excitement. Instead of excitement showing on his face, a hardened intensity would make it look as if he just had high blood pressure. "I promise, I will be careful if you let me hold it." When the person clarified that it was for show, it disappointed the swordsman. Sighing and slinking back, he looked at them with sad eyes. "Why do you have such a piece for show? It looks like it would be very useful...as an environmental tool."Sure, environmental. Not cleaving the worst of humans that would have left their own stain on the world otherwise. Snapping out of the stupor that was admiring the weapon, the grim-looking Enma bowed in apology. "I do apologize for the abrupt intrusion. Arashi Enma, Second-Year, Department of Heroes." Awkwardly introducing himself as if he felt bad for skipping a necessary formality, he raised back and looked tense as ever. junsuina

Blushing at being reminded of his formalities, Enma gave a shocked expression before toning it down and nodding. He listened intently as she related to the bond to weaponry that their families had. The Ando family were much more famous, but values persisted with or without fame. It was nice for the swordsman to find this connection, almost softening up his emotional armor. Waving his head and hand nervously, Enma reacted nervously to the compliment on his supposed expertise. "No, I dare not say I'm an expert."In some ways, he held a competent understanding. Though, he was likely only a learned observer of the things that mattered in his life. Raiju was an important sword that was put on the Journey. When Masao inquired on what he was leading to, Enma inhaled and exhaled squarely. "Every weapon you make will take its pound of flesh. That blood is on your hands as much as it's on the hands of those that wield it. It's inevitable, but it's the same pact that a wielder makes by picking up the katana."The weapons don't create the violence, only their wielders and proprietors do. Enma seemed to imply the permanent bond that is created between the creator and the use of their creation. "As long as you respect that rule of weaponsmithing, it will show in your craft. That is what my grandfather would say about those that made katanas in the past." Tempted to unwrap Raiju to allow Masao to appreciate what he carried, he was shocked by the offer to carry a blade personally made by her. "I would be honored...but I must be clear about my quirk. If I wield your blade, it may not look like it once did once it is in my hands for some time." Nervous about sharing the details about the Journey, he held Raiju close to his chest. "It hasn't changed much...but would you like to see my grandfather's blade? I haven't oiled it yet..." For the first time in his life, Enma looked forward to a conversation. Masao Ando

It was true that Enma spent a lot of time training outside of school hours. Away from everyone, in isolation and where he can free his mind. The bots behind him that were crushed were evidence that this was more than just body conditioning. There was the intent for him to be efficient and brutal behind his blows. Some might see it as anger management with machinery, but that would require not having the harsh sense of justice that Enma had. "I have kept to myself well enough. Second-year and I've yet to make much of a name for myself. In pursuit of higher education, I prefer it that way." Nodding professionally, Enma adverted eye contact when he could as he had not expected the French transfer to suddenly meet the budding hero. "Deveraux-senpai, what subject will you be focused on?" Out of genuine curiosity, the swordsman pondered if the new teacher would be someone who could provide a new level of development he hadn't considered. As Lawbringer asked about Enma's penchant for swordplay, it made him think on Raiju's relation to Papa Arashi, Enma's grandfather. It was a skill that had deep, rich history with their family. It might've skipped a generation, but it came naturally to the bitter student. Vengeance was seeped into every fiber of his body and would only ink upon the world through the brush that was Raiju. "Yes, I was raised by my grandfather. He taught me self-defense and how to wield the blade. I've been aspiring to be a hero since youth."While his quirk existed all his life, giving fluttering images that sprouted from his imagination, he hadn't considered how equally second-nature wielding a katana had been. Clearing his throat after a bit of awkward silence that would pass, Enma would dart his eyes to the side and wondered if he was going to be allowed to continue. "So...Deveraux-senpai, may I continue my training?"Lawbringer

Meeting with Yuki Onna made Enma reasonably anxious, but his steel nerves helped him hide it well. It took some time, but he wanted to be punctual, which ended up making him much earlier than he needed to be. While not aware of the upcoming route entirely, the journey was in her hands. Her reputation revolved around the sheer chill she left behind, making him wonder if she was just as cold in personality. Eventually, she'd arrive and introduce herself. Holding Raiju tightly, he nodded at her with his crimson eyes shining in the moonlight. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Yuki Onna-sama. I know that this is a formality, but I am Arashi Enma. I aspire to go by Helsing, so for the patrol I will be so." In almost militant fashion, he stood and bowed towards his superior. Following at a controlled pace, he aligned Raiju to the best of his ability with his arm. Keeping his thumb and index around the tsuba, he kept the katana secure while keeping it somewhat discreetly against himself. Observing the area around them, Enma pierced his gaze through the drizzle and into the populace that still bustled this late into the evening. People were ending their shifts at work, taking care of what errands they could. Tokyo was operating at all hours, which meant criminals could exist at all times. When she asked if he had field combat experience, it made him think about his training. He didn't necessarily have field experience, but Papa Arashi was quite brutal in his teachings. "No, but I am well-trained. There was a lot of practical application lessons in what I was taught. I could use a lot of polishing, though." Once the pace picked up, they would need to be sharp about how they observed alleyways. Something was bound to happen in them, but so far it was a peaceful patrol. There was still a ways to go. "Yuki Onna-sama, if you don't mind me asking, how long have you been a hero?"Shirayuki Mai

Enma rarely liked using the school's supplies when he could take advantage of his forced employment with his father. It was also easy to justify not letting anyone intrude on his use as he wasn't holding up any publicly available machines. His exercise was outside of normal hours for students, but yet...he was still caught in the act of being in public. As he was packing up, someone had approached and was intent on not participating but watching him.
As someone who didn't like to be observed, Enma wanted to say no. In the spirit of manners, he looked at her with his typical "meh" demeanor and answered, "This is a pitching machine. You use it to condition yourself with batting. It's getting late and I was just packing up--" As he was attempting to let the girl down lightly, he jumped out of his skin as an absurd question followed. The chaos of the human brain was a type of darkness that Enma wished to never encounter.
This person was sent to terrorize him. "I...giraffes are real. Unicorns? Where do you see unicorns?" With intense confusion, Enma felt the impulse to start the pitching machine and run away. With better judgment, he did not, in fact, do that. Looking at the first girl, he gave an uneasy smile and improvised a way to not have to continue the latter girl's proposed...thoughts. "How about I demonstrate?"

A lot of emotion surged through Enma as the first night using his license was coming about. He had been working towards this next leap of faith for years, yet all he ever was used to was certainty. Something about it made him uncharacteristically nervous, clamming up his hands as he got ready for the night. He didn't have a proper disguise because he hadn't been able to decide on anything truly suitable. The name Helsing hadn't been defined. Yet, he still signed up with Tranquil Soul Agency for his first patrol. Enma was a student of great efficiency and decent academics. He knew what it meant to be a hero and what they wanted out of a hero. Not everything he agreed with, but where he would shine is if a patrol went awry. Unfortunately, this meant being watch. What are they going to think of me? Will I have what it takes? This insecurity was sickening. Taking time to meditate as per Papa Arashi's teachings, this insecurity was washed way and replaced by resolve. The patrol was the first of many and he really could do good. It wasn't for show, they weren't some villain bots to crush. Enma was leaving UA Grounds and was going to be working directly with Tranquil Soul Agency's lead, Yuki Onna. The Numbing Hero. Tonight, the young Arashi was going out as Helsing. Meeting up in Shinjuku, they were going to patrol a rather dangerous area of Tokyo. Something was bound to happen, and as the worry would disappear...thrill would take its place. This didn't show in Enma's cold expression directly, but his steel nerves came through sharper. Improvising a uniform that covered most of his features including his face, the X scar on his head was the most prominent feature. He preferred to carry Raiju, but had a holster of sorts that would hold the katana on his side if need be. Awaiting the arrival of the professional hero, Enma looked over the neon gradient that illuminated the night. In a rather well-hidden rendezvous spot atop a medium-sized building, they weren't standing atop any crown jewels of Shinjuku's building. It even started raining. ( Disguise) Shirayuki Mai

There was a lot of darkness in Enma that didn't get released on a regular basis. As a second-year with his provisional license, he hasn't gone into the field much because of the insecurity that he hardly spoke of. The katana wielding student had often trained outside of the times people did to quietly strengthen himself. He didn't want popularity, he wanted action. He couldn't do that when he felt too weak to prevent something like what took family from him. So he came to one of the facilities for physical training and setup the sparring bots. At first, it began as a calm and collected expression of physicality. He mixed in strikes from his own body while wielding Raiju to temper his ability to fight while keeping that extension of his on standby. The villain bots he used were likely a surprising difficulty level for a second-year, but his natural athleticism made him potent when combined with focused skills. As he took down the bots, he would begin thinking. Enma's way of speaking was through the violence this training regimen called out of him. The weaker bots would be crushed by the haymakers and diving kicks as he maneuvered through the replicated city-scape. The more he fought, the more the tension came through his emotions. Eventually, there would be an unsuspecting surveyor that would catch him beating on one of the villain bots with the sheathed Raiju. Blots of colorful energy emitted from his skin, which swirled with the gradient of Starry Night upon the surface of the blade. As he felt the severe damaging and denting of metal frame against the blunt of Raiju's sheath, Enma would feel a release of pent up, dark emotion. It's as if this was how he screamed about his failure to save his mother and how this villain bot was an augury of the real villains of the world. Crushing the bot into pieces, he would give his voyeur a cold look. This was just his natural look, but his crimson eyes would be like two blood arrows filled with discomfort. "I didn't know I would have company." Plainly spoken, Enma would hesitate while digesting what he was told. Wiping the sweat from his forehead with the long sleeve of his black athletic attire, he would hold Raiju with bridged fingers behind his back horizontally. "Tensing at the finality of your strike maximizes strength. I try not to tense too early. Arashi, Enma. Nice to meet you, I presume you're the new teacher I've yet to meet?" While cordial as Enma was taught to respect authority figures, he was still very uncomfortable with being seen where he normally has privacy. While there was nuance to the tension of his blows, there was certain social anxiety in the tension of his speech. Lawbringer

Enma didn't go anywhere without Raiju as a student. To keep a more reasonable appearance, he kept it wrapped in a grey cloth that was very plain as to not make others uncomfortable (and avoid unwanted attention). It was a part of the Journey, his bond to his grandfather's blade was unique. What was to paint upon the blade would yet to be seen, making him an outlier in the painters that have come from Inkheart. His father used Inkheart to brand his sporting goods and he didn't even know what his grandfather would manifest landscapes on canvasses. Enma was a born warrior. It also meant that he was born to appreciate weaponry of very unique craft. Now, he was not very aware of cultures such as those wrapped up in video games or movies, so this added a level of naivety to his amazement. In particular, the naive reaction to a student carrying what looked to be a vicious-looking sword that could help spread justice VERY effectively. A cut through villainy that would make a man weep. Uncharacteristically seemingly, he approached the person moving through the campus with the look of a killer. "Apologies, do you have a moment to let me admire your sword?"junsuina

At first, Enma was not looking forward to the unplanned masking he'd have to attempt in an effort to not rub a fellow student the wrong way. However, Masao brought a pleasant surprise to him. When entering the room, he was fidgeting and rigid while she continued to show plans for something that would be a dream for him. Clutching the wrapped Raiju, his eyes widened and his cold face sharpened and elongated in expression. "Ando-san, I hadn't made the connection. I am pleased to make your acquaintance."With a respectful bow, he continued hearing the pitch for what was coming. She was part of a crucial resource to Hero society. As someone who wanted to become a hero, he looked into important players and was attracted to the weaponsmiths that could help maintain Raiju...or provide a new blade once its Journey was complete. "I'm no smith, but my family has provided their own weapons for generations...since the time of samurai. One must always remember: mind the integrity. A sword is nothing without it."Nodding, he leaned forward and looked at the design as if he had forgotten Masao was next to him. Scanning it thoroughly, he checked for the different parts of the katana to make sure it came together just right. "Do you know what it means to make a katana?" Looking curiously over at Masao, he clutched Raiju tightly once more. With twitching expression, he shook his head and returned to a more matter-of-fact face. He recalled, momentarily, the advise of his grandfather but didn't want to lose his hard shell. "I think the design is fine, Ando-san."Masao Ando

Maintain or die. Those were the times given to Enma when told to maintain his grandfather's sword. He didn't believe his grandfather would kill him truly, but maybe he'd be dead to the old man. Or maybe he would, who knew? With a carefully-wrapped Raiju tied to his back, the antisocial boy made a trip down to the Support department in search of some choji oil. It was traditional and normally hard to find, but it just so happened there were enough connoisseurs in the department that he could grab some with a simple transaction. The person he established good rapport with knew to make it quick so he could be in and out. Thankfully, most students were focused on their work and concerned with not making anything explode. Enma ran himself through the same mental cycle as he entered the department to retrieve the oil. Get the oil, pay the money, get out. Destressing would include oiling the sword gently with a quality cotton cloth and peaceful silence. That wasn't happening today, as he suddenly felt his whole world shift as his attention was caught by a stray Support student. Normally, he would dread the conversation and would run at the first opportunity. I could use your opinion on something. Now if it meant seeing what that student was cooking, Enma wouldn't mind. It disrupted what he mentally prepared himself for, and he wouldn't smile, but he was ready. "Enma Arashi. Second year student on the hero course. What is it?" Plain, simple, to the point. Masao Ando

The pitching machine launched the first ball, shooting it directly towards Enma. In casual sporting wear, long-sleeved, he held a wooden bat and wore a helmet alongside everything. They were all provided by his father's business, which he begrudgingly took and used to great effect. When he was going to get dirty, he was going to ruin the clothes he was given for free. With the baseball zooming through the air towards him, he could approach striking it in one of two ways. To hone his eyes, he could miss over and over until he felt himself become more capable of seeing the ball or he could hone his instincts and take the cardio gains.
This was meant to be a practice, but hitting something was always a good way of taking one's mind off of deeper frustrations. Enma swung and launched the ball away, the thunderous crack of a spot-on strike from wood meeting leather ringing throughout the training grounds. He would repeat this a few times over until the machine depleted itself, wiping the sweat from his forehead as he hit ball after ball to distract himself from what was weighing on his shoulders.
It was his second year as a student and he still hadn't figured out how he wanted to put himself out there for heroes to find him. He had no friends, he was stuck working at his dad's store at the worst times, and a lot of agencies focused on marketing themselves. The ones that did pique his interest seemed too out of his league. So for the moment, he would repeat some drills and strike balls like the league he was looking for was baseball.
Enma had his provisional license, but has yet to make use of it. Being alone was not a good thing as an up-and-coming hero, even if he preferred not to have to interact with people he didn't really care about. Collecting the baseballs, he began packing up the machine and looked onward into the sunset. Using a rag to soak up any sweat, he exhaled as the judgmental tone of his father echoed in his thoughts.
