[attr="class","hiraeth"]私は世界を変えたい | [attr="class","achee"] [attr="class","castleonthehill"] ❝ One might wonder why a vigilante, of all the types of people in the world, would join an organization like the Pantheon; Grinta was independently sufficient by her lonesome, and continued to grow in competence with each passing day. Yet, she'd still chosen to become a part of a group — one so much larger than herself — so conceivably villainous. What did she stand to gain from such a group, and why would she choose to affiliate herself with their like? Truth be told, she wasn't much better than the "villains" of the Pantheon, nor was she in any position to critique their methods. Though she held concrete motives of her own and abided by a personal code — something she was sure not every member held as importantly as she did — her exploits had left her with hands just as bloodied as her contemporaries; by all accounts, the vigilante seemed more of a villain to those who knew of her. If one looked at the history of her actions, it wouldn't be hard to imagine why. Even if her ultimate objective was something benign in nature, the choices she made in the present — and the reputation she garnered as a result — didn't appear to be of benevolence, nor were they indicative of anything more than a villain's deeds for satisfaction. So, for the time being, she leaned upon those labeled as villains. Many of them held convictions similar to her own, or just as proudly subscribed to their own — something Grinta could respect, regardless of the principles she held for herself. So, she would work as a part of them, as a part of Loki's court, and do as she did as a part of their ranks. Thus brought Grinta to her current circumstance; just as times prior, Grinta had capitalized upon her abilities of thievery, breaking into and extorting a robotics lab for information — details, designs, the like. Beyond her own intentions, however, there was an even greater purpose beyond her actions: her Admin, Loki, had many competitors in the legal world, many of whom held the resources to stake their claims on the market. Grinta, unlike her peers, wasn't to be readily trusted. It was such that she would need to prove herself; not her abilities — she'd been accepted because of her skills, not in spite — but rather, her loyalty. No matter how quick they were to accept her, the vigilante doubted that all disparities between herself and her new allies would be so quickly looked over. If she was to ensure a layer of trust between them, it would be through action. The vigilante, under the veil of Babel's chaos, had managed another successful heist. She was sure that Loki would be pleased, both in the breaching of a competitor and of the secured internal documents and blueprints. Of course, Grinta had every intention to keep some to herself, but such was the nature of their relationship. Walking along the silence of an alleyway — well, relative silence, given the greater chaos screaming through the rest of Tokyo — Grinta surfed through the data collected by her latest excursion, looking at it through the brilliance of her IYF and its holographic projections. She thought it was wildly more convenient than a phone. "Which to keep for myself..." She'd murmur to herself as she continued sifting through, pondering which she might find use for. "That one's pretty inte'e'ting, eh..." |

So what the hell was happening in Tokyo today? It felt as if everything had erupted into chaos within the matter of mere hours. Was it some kind of war? Had the villains gotten so bold that they were trying to overthrow hero society? Eiji was many things, but he was definitely not in the know about the goings on of current politics, and especially not on what the villains were up to. The Hummingbirds were concerned with keeping evil rival gangs off the streets of their little tiny corner of Tokyo and that was about it. As far as the news were live reporting, this thing wasn't just affecting Shinjuku, it was everywhere. Which was a relief, because Eiji wasn't home at the base currently and knowing that it wouldn't be targeted right away meant he had time to get back and help direct his guys and gals so that they could defend their turf. However, before he could do any of that he had to help out in the district around him. He might be a criminal, but he wasn't so heartless to abandon civilians who cried out for help. He wasn't as qualified as the heroes, but school education and paperwork hella didn't matter when it came to saving people. All that mattered was a strong heart and soul. Running, out of breath he had just helped get a young lady to safety as he was seeking to cross through a nearby alleyway. A silent short cut, surely he wouldn't have to brawl with other hardheads like himself if he ran through there. Or so he thought. Stopping to catch his breath, he immediately took note of the woman who was walking around all casual, contrasting the carnage that was unfolding in the city around them. She didn't look like the hero type, not that the heroes had time to walk during attacks like this. ''So, you're taking it pretty easy aren't you?'' He wiped some sweat off his brow. ''Not gonna lie lady, you're suspicious as hell. You in on this thing? What's going on exactly?'' He grinned, he was ready to throw hands at a moment's notice, but if he could gather some intel first that would be sweet. Jackie Maradona

[attr="class","hiraeth"]私は世界を変えたい | [attr="class","achee"] [attr="class","castleonthehill"] ❝ The vigilante's gaze flicked up from her projected screen, turning her gaze up to the other end of the alley — a civilian? They didn't strike Grinta as a threat necessarily — they didn't seem to be adorned by any sort of costume, manufactured or otherwise. Perhaps a civilian who believed themselves to be a sort of hero? Though, Grinta supposed she could say the same for herself. Ending her projection with a tightened fist, Grinta pulled her arm back into the security of her cloak, letting it fall over her figure and away from the man's sight. She'd have rather enjoyed the rest of her outing in peace — taking the time to consider her preferences on her way to report back to Facade — but now, she was faced with a dilemma. If she took flight amidst the chaos of Babel, she might attract more unwanted attention than she needed. Though, if she continued to remain here on the ground, she would likely have to face down the man ahead of her. She didn't know the first thing about him, nor did she have a grasp of what groomed such confidence in him — a mystery perhaps just as dangerous as her other option. "No, a fi'ure in a black cloak and full fa'e mask being su'piciou'? I couldn't imagine that." For now, she'd take her chances with the entrant. Though the mysteries that lay with him were yet known, she found it a preferable gamble to her other option. Though, given her level of clearance, she'd rather avoid making more trouble for her colleagues by spilling to some stranger playing hero. "What the 'ell do shou care about what's going on? Seems to me like shou should put shour 'ead down and wait for the chao' to pass befo'e shou try to put on a brave face."Though, if this was just a civilian, she found the urge to confront her to be a bizarre one — a reckless one, even. The vigilante had made an image of herself as a sort of menace to most. The air with which she held herself, though not crushing in her presence, was that of something that didn't belong; it was almost as though the space she occupied was, in of itself, stolen, like her place had never been and thus, she wretched it from the world itself. Her being was to kill that sense of ease that fell upon most, to look upon the cheerfully faux painting of the world and only respond with a deathly stare — that unmoving, unflinching stare of crossed eyes and a devilish grin. "Beside'," she'd laugh, lifting an arm from her cloak. "What are shou gonna do about it?" Sprouted from her hand came her little imp, a demonic creature with bat-like wings and a big, toothy maw. The creature, entirely gray in composition besides the white of its grin, looked out upon the intruder. It was laughing through grit teeth. "The 'hero of the hour,' ey? Don't look much like any hero I done ever seen," it sneered, its voice distinct from its creator, "Seem to me like a damn pusher, ya stop-sign lookin' ass!" The summoned quirk, floating up from its perch in Grinta's hand, embedded itself into the back of the vigilante's cloak. For once, her quirk seemed independently confident in their confrontation. "Shou excited or something, i'iot?""It's like ya said; ain't really a better option we got, so we might as well enjoy the choice we're makin'.""I didn't say that.""But you thought it!""...Just do shour job."✉ tag -- Eiji Harada✎ 594 words ※ "Stop-Sign Lookin' Ass" |

Eiji grinned at her remark about wearing a mask and everything. “Your accent is crazy as hell! Where you from? I don’t recognize your vibe.” He raised an eyebrow as she went after his nosy self. She definitely didn’t know who he was, not that he could expect her to, he wasn’t exactly famous, although people living in Shinjuku might have heard of him. “Who do you take me for, some kind of fool?” He had a serious look on his face as he jabbed a thumb up to his chest. “When all of Tokyo is chaos a man doesn’t just stand by and let it fall into disarray. When all is chaos you raise your fists and fight back against the noise!!” He held a fist up over his head. “When the world burns around me, my soul burns three times brighter!! That’s who Guts, The Heart of the Hummingbirds really is!!” He was shouting near the end, posing dramatically with a big, dumb, confident grin on his face. “Me?” He grinned and pointed a finger at her. “I’m the one who will shine brighter than you!” He noticed something sprouting from her hand. A summoning quirk of some kind? Did it even matter? It just looked like a little rat, there was no way it could fight him. “What did you say?!” He shouted back, clearly the type to be easily provoked. “I’ll become a stop sign, a stop sign of burning passion!” With a battle cry he charged forward in a predictable manner, raising both fists like a boxer as he swung once, trying to land a quick jab on her. [attr="class","hiraeth"]私は世界を変えたい | [attr="class","achee"] [attr="class","castleonthehill"] ❝ As the opposite vigilante droned on and on about, Grinta simply stared with the ever-blank stare of her mask. Though its display held a smile, the Xs across her eyes better represented her current response. Or, rather, what she'd prefer to be than to listen to Eiji's inane ramblings. What was with people doing that? She enjoyed herself a monologue — did not most everyone love putting their thoughts out there? — but, in her regard, she'd always emphasized the purpose behind it, not the bloating of her own significance. It wasn't as though she monologued to those she intended to rid the world of; regardless of her hesitance for slaughter, her words were to be saved for those more deserving of it. Or, as she deemed it in Eiji's case, "deserving" her words just as an avaricious tyrant was deserving of revolution. Funny — "revolution." That was an apt term to describe this man; or, rather, the faux persona of revolution. Those who, maybe in some regard, wanted to fight for a better world, but rejected the sacrifices — the "noise," as it were — that came with that reality. A pit filled Grinta's gut, but not one of disappointment or despair. Rather, from within those depths, there rose something new. It was a rage she'd never felt before. She'd reviled many things before — even her current means to her ends — but never had it been towards the prospects of revolution. That perceived naivety behind his bluster... Did it resonate in her as mockery? As a cruel gag of herself, with its edges sanded away and its parts ripped from the chassis? The creature shot up to meet the metal hand, aiming to embed itself in his prosthetic arm. In that very moment, as though pulled by the hand itself, the mechanical arm would be pulled into the air as for the blow to entirely whiff. Grinta rarely considered herself to be particularly powerful. Against most opponents of similar experience, she was placed onto the backfoot; she didn't lead such confrontations, but instead was forced to find an exploit in her foe's superior skillset to even hope for victory. Thus, she'd always struggled to imagine a scenario in which she held the advantage by default. But, in rare scenarios such as this, she recalled her primary niche — cyborgs. In this modern day, where people could alter their bodies with manmade devices embedded into their very flesh, the line between man and machine was blurred. Grinta's quirk was one incapable of interacting with the systems of animals, including humans, and thus prohibited the vigilante from having an easily devisable condition for victory; however, in the case of such fusions, she could take advantage of the mechanical side. In that domain, she was to be unparalleled. Without having even lifted her finger, Eiji would be held aloft by seemingly nothing, as though gravity had inverted itself upon his arm and his arm alone. "Shou're right about one thing," the vigilante sighed, though she sounded rather sharp in her exhale. "I do ta'e shou fo' a fool."Spinning her back leg and twisting her body, Grinta tried to strike the vigilante with a roundhouse aimed to his gut, hopefully sending him back to the point from which he started. "We're going to play a game, shou an' I." Just as she had been before, her form receded to the contents of her cloak, unseen by those who looked upon her. Eiji wasn’t the fiercest fighter around, but to underestimate his flaming fists of justice? You would have to be a fool! He was confident going in, his opponent was barely even moving! Maybe she had realized her mistake? If that was the case he would go easy on her. Imagine his surprise when his momentum was halted completely. She hadn’t even lifted a finger. “What the hell?!” He blurred out, straining, pulling against his arm before looking up to see what was holding it in place… Nothing? Some kinda witchcraft power this woman possessed that much was clear. He looked down and was about to spit a retort back at her, but in his current position he had no way to dodge her kick, as it slammed into him and sent him flying back. When he came to a halt he was wheezing and writhing from the pain and the shock. It was one thing to trade blows with an opponent, but she had gotten a clean hit off on him, he hadn’t even had a second to defend himself! Letting out a cough he sat up. “A game? The only game I’m playing…” he pushed himself up and ran at her again, only this time he was punching with the prosthetic arm. “Is kicking your ass!” In an instant before he expected his fist to impact, Eiji turned on his quirk to send a spark of flames flying through the prosthetic arm. “Sparking Fist!!!” He yelled out triumphantly, prematurely. By all accounts, Eiji was not the type of guy to strategize. Jackie Maradona

That desire to, regardless of one's gifts, do what one sought as justice! Even when up against the reality of something that one could not surmount, one still raged against it, refusing to accept reality in the pursuit of a better truth! Yet, as that will charged her again, her own fury roared back. Was it the prospect of ignorance? She didn't figure this person to be a U.A. student: no, in most of their cases, they either held some notion of reality or the outright ability to alter it to how they saw fit. In the case of this person, they neither seemed to have the ability to do so nor the understanding to quit while one could. Both in the oddity of her abilities and in the strength of her blow, Grinta assumed to have provided him sufficient warning of what a bout with her entailed — yet he continued to act as he had before! It was such that, as his blow approached her, the fist would be stopped by no apparent act of their own. But, as a visual of the outstretched armed made itself known to Eiji, he would see the odd creature from before embedded in the back of his mechanical hand. Furthermore, as the vigilante tried to park the flames across the machine, he would find the device actively resisting his input. "Yer toy here regulates yer quirk, I'm guessin'?" If Eiji were to lay his eyes on the creature, he'd find the quirk mocking him with an inhuman grin. "Sorry ta tell ya that yer arm's pretty shoddy by my standards. Mean, connectin' to yer nerves? Always found that style reckless."Through the same force as had been prior, the vigilante would be moved; this time, however, Eiji would be dragged by the full force of the creature, aiming to fling him to the left wall of the alley — a pain. "Listen 'ere, i'iot," chimed Grinta, "shou chose to 'tart thi' game when shou fucked with me, so we're plashing it through 'ow I want to. Under'tand?" Just as he thought his triumphant attack would work, there it was again, that force stopping him, like he was physically incapable of reaching the villain. ''What is that?!'' He called out, grimacing at the odd creature as he still struggled and failed to control his own arm. ''Some kinda trick? Is this how you fight?!'' He sneered, struggling until he was almost out of breath. What happened next would've had him stumble and lose his foothold, had he not been held hostage by this mysterious power. ''What the hell? The thing talks? Which one is the quirk, you or the villain?!'' He grumbled, he made no effort to hide it and yet he was still angry his quirk and arm's connection was that obvious. ''So what if it does? Wanna have a closer look? Lemme go!'' He struggled again to no avail, all the while doing his best to act tough even though he knew he was in some deep, deep trouble here. ''Reckless is my middle name! Doc fixed me up so I could fight people like you.''The little creature mocking him was starting to get to him too, that grin... He was definitely going to see it in his nightmares tonight. ''You know, your quirk's a real piece of work too, what's with the ugly grin?'' While he was doing his best to taunt back, he was also scanning his limited surroundings for anything he could grab onto with his free hand. Why a narrow alleyway of all places, the walls weren't going to help him at all. He flinched when he felt her quirk pull on him again, trying to resist for a brief moment, but it was futile as he was slammed into the left wall of the alley, gasping as he was pulled back to his original starting position right after. He was damn near seeing double when Grinta spoke to him, he could've sworn there was a ringing in his ear too. Was he bleeding? Probably. Shit. He barely registered hitting the ground, but his body certainly didn't as he coughed and gasped, caught like an insect in a spider's web. He took a moment to catch his breath as he listened to the rules to whatever game she was setting up. Don't mess with the little guy, sure, okay. ''R-Run away?'' He grinned, bearing the pain. ''Men don't run from battle, I'll never take the coward's way!!'' He shouted back, angry, determined to show his resolve. ''That's just who Guts is!''Jackie Maradona

Yet, regardless of the means to actualize his will, Eiji continued to scream those moronic things. "Shou're right," she seethed, "men don't run from battle; they're fed to it. They're forced to bleed for cau'es they don't be'ieve in, u'ed by machi'es for rea'ons they don't under'tand, and told they're 'doing the right thing' for their sacrifi'es. Is that what shou believe in, brat?"As his hand pulled towards the ground, though more to keep him still than to make him crumble, the vigilante approached. Each step, near silent in their touch, dully flowed out from beneath her weight, never echoing but a dulled tapping. She would snap that childish resolve in two with her bare hands if need be. "Shou don't e'en know what shou're figh'ing for right now. Shou're gonna catch this ass whoo'ing, and shou won't get a reason why — but shou're going to catch it regardless. Shou don't e'en 'ave a rea'on to fight me, le' alone a 'ope of winning, so why a'e shou pre'ending to act tough?"With a violent twist of her frame, balanced upon her right foot, she spun her left into a back kick, one aimed at the vigilante's chest. "Thi' i' the game; shou're going to keep ea'ing the'e kicks, and I'm going to keep gi'ing them until shou collapse." As she once again returned to her balance, she watched the results of her blow. "Running away doesn't seem li'e such a bad option, now doe' it?""When did this get so personal?"The quirk, though its mouth clamped shut with its grin, pecked at its user's brain. "I was just tellin' ya no need to rush, but what're you tryin' now? Why're ya going so rough on this kid?""Shut it–" she furrowed her brow– "I'm doing what others clearly 'aven't done fo' 'im."The quirk continued to pull towards wherever ground he now rested above, having done little to prevent Grinta's assault from sending the opposite vigilante backward. Though, its weight lightened by an iota. "Isn't there another way to do this?"✉ tag -- Eiji Harada✎ 470 words ※ How deep does that "will" go? |

Shit, if only he didn't have this scrap metal of an arm accompanying him. Would he be better off trying to rip it out and toss it away? He wasn't sure, but he couldn't say he didn't consider it either. Maybe he could convince her or that little gremlin to rip it out? Shit, no, that wouldn't do either. No matter how he looked at it he was screwed unless some hero arrived out of the blue, but Eiji didn't bank on it. ''Not at all.'' He didn't know squat about being fed to some higher cause he didn't know nothing about. In fact, there was a lot Eiji didn't know. He had been raised by the Hummingbirds and fought for them as soon as he was old enough to. ''I believe in my burning spirit! I believe that no matter what I will never crumble. Why? Because I'm Guts, the burning, beating Heart of the Hummingbirds!''Damn it, why was she asking so many questions? Was he just supposed to know anything and everything? ''I don't need to pretend,'' it was strained, but he still bore a cocky grin. ''I fight for the good of this city, and for the good of my people.'' His grin didn't stay for long as another kick sent him reeling, coughing and heaving as all he could do was bear the brunt of her kicks. ''S-So..'' He groaned, his chest still sore, his voice weak. Had he lost a tooth? He couldn't tell but it damn near felt like it! ''What you're saying is... If you get tired before I break, I win? Deal. I'm not running away, villain.''Jackie Maradona

[attr="class","hiraeth"]私は世界を変えたい | [attr="class","achee"] [attr="class","castleonthehill"] ❝ A sharp sigh escaped Grinta's lips, bordering on a hiss in its tone. She watched the man tumble away from her blow, reeling and crumbling as he stomached another one of her attacks, still standing regardless. Were she not seething through gritted teeth, she'd be poking and prodding him, searching for an answer to his absurd appetite for pain. Grinta scratched at the side of her neck, gliding her hand up her chin and towards her ear. A quiet, thudding sound came as she hit her palm against her ear. Again and again she continued, stopping abruptly with her hand resting on the side of her head. "'Guts' thi' and 'hummingbirds' that — can shou say anything else, brat? Shou're ma'ing a girl que'tion 'er ears."Why did the brat still stand defiant? Or, rather, why did he continue to stand at all? For all that was, and all that he could see, there was no hope for him to come out the victor — for all he knew, the villain had no reason to play by her own rules. She may leave him as a broken, crumbled corpse in this back alley, with not a single remnant of life left in him, stripping him of that "fire" he so proudly declared himself the embodiment of. It wasn't as if she promised to spare him if he continued with the game. It wouldn't be difficult, she thought. If it was anything to go by, as she considered it, he would surely be snuffed out, a few stray cinders that couldn't even ignite the grass. "Some 'eart shou a'e," she'd laugh, stepping forward again. While her arm held him in place, Grinta made no effort to rush her approach. She approached lazily, making no rush to continue her assault, for she had something more important in mind. "Mu't be a pathe'ic group to 'ave shou as its core, eh?""I mean–" she continued snickering, placing a hand over her display's mouth– "shou can't e'en say what's 'good' for this ci'y, much less shour own people, if shou keep foo'ing shourself into thinking shou can win — into thinking shou should fight me a' all! Shou got a death wish, shet shou think some mea'ingless ti'le will gua'antee shou live. Are shou an i'iot, or are shou trying to die?" |

He was hurting all over by now, and part of him really had to wonder if this was it. If this was how he was going to die, getting kicked and beaten to death by some deranged villain with a weird quirk. He would die young, without accomplishing much of what he wanted in life. He would be leaving the birds behind too, how would the gang react to his death? The saddest part was he wouldn't be there to see them, to say goodbye one last time. ''..Don't like what I'm saying?'' Damn, even hurting talked now. He hadn't been beat up this badly in a while. ''Maybe you should try hitting me harder..''Someone with less pride than him would have turned and ran already, or given up completely, but that wasn't who Guts was. He was proud to an absolutely stupid degree and he was going to stand defiant against this villain until she either killed him, knocked him out cold or got tired of whaling on him. The fact that she was approaching him slowly still, was somehow more frightening, the pause between every hit he took leaving him anticipating more pain. It was unbearable. ''No way.'' He grinned, ''I'm one of the weakest members.'' He admitted proudly. ''I-I'm doing neither of those things!'' She was finally starting to get to him, insulting his home, his people. She was hella right that he didn't know shit, but Eiji already knew he wasn't the sharpest spoon in the drawer. ''I'm fighting this fight-'' he flinched for a split second as a bout of pain pierced his body. ''-my own way! If you don't like our duel, then I suggest you finish it or admit defeat! If I die fighting, then so be it!''Jackie Maradona

[attr="class","hiraeth"]私は世界を変えたい | [attr="class","achee"] [attr="class","castleonthehill"] ❝ Dropping like a stone, Eiji's arm wrenched towards the earth. What had once been a measure to keep him still now evolved into a gnarled grip, a whim designed to bring the fledgling vigilante onto his knees. And to whose whim it was, they stood over him, grinning that fiendish, neon smile. Where their eyes met, Eiji would see his eyes crossed in the mask's reflection, with his expression hidden beneath the fangs of her smile. She stood there, a looming shadow, right before the Hummingbird. If he could so will himself to move, to fight through the assault he'd been given, he could even reach his hand out and touch her. But Grinta stood there regardless, just barely within Eiji's grasp if he proved himself quicker. "Shou don't even know what it means to be the 'eart of something." Grinta tilted her head. "What good is shour i'ea of anything if you don't even know what shou are — of what shour responsibilities are? Do shou think that title is one so easily sacrificed, shou mindless brat?"Her muscles tightened. Though she was, by comparison to the man, a meager presence of stature, she weighed down heavily before him. With an unflinching gate and an unwandering glare. Her coat hung like a loose cape at her back, revealing the toned physique that now stood at its full height. Her arms stiffened at her sides, and her fingers froze like a pond on a frigid morning. "Prove it," she'd taunt, pointing to her stomach. It was his target. "Can shou 'it me? Can shou e'en touch me? Can shou so much as make me move at all?" Grinta raised her chin. "And even if shou do," she'd muse, stifling a laugh from the back of her throat, "what would it do?""But 'ey, I'm not a 'man' like shou are, right?" Even as the word rolled off her tongue, she couldn't say it seriously. She had to cross her arms over her chest, only leaving her stomach exposed as she trapped the laughter in her chest. "Why don't shou show me 'ow one fights?" |

As he was brought to his knees, he truly wondered whether he would be able to stand back up again. Forget that, at this rate it felt like he was going to lose his ability to walk at all, or worse, get killed. When she leaned down closer, he tried to move his hand up to punch her with his non-prosthetic arm. All he could muster was lifting his trembling arm, only for it to fall again before it could get even close to hurting her. ''A-And what do you know?'' He panted. It was a weak retort, but he wasn't the one who had chosen this title. The Brain had given it to him and truth be told, Eiji himself was still trying to make sense of why. He wasn't the strongest, or the quickest, or the smartest in the gang. Hell, this entire fight with this villain should have proved as much. He looked up at her stomach as she pointed to it. She was admittedly, a lot more ripped than he had initially thought. Then again, he also hadn't accounted for the fact that she had some crazy control power that let her drag him around by the arm. ''Hell no,'' he smiled weakly as he could feel his vision slowly beginning to fade. ''I can't move at all.'' He admitted, spitting out blood away from her. Her taunts were still getting to him. If he was just a little tougher he would still be throwing wild punches at her. Strategy? That wasn't his style! However, it was clear to even him by this point that he couldn't win with brute force. ''I guess not.'' He winced, feeling a sharp pain pierce his stomach. ''Just like.. this.'' He would have gestured to himself with his other hand, but honestly he couldn't move it even if he wanted to. ''Say... Aren't you getting tired? You've been throwing out attacks left and right, I'd be tired if I was in your shoes.'' He grinned. ''You're not thinking of giving up are you? I'm not gonna back down.. I'm not gonna die, even if you kill me! This is how I fight!''Jackie Maradona

[attr="class","hiraeth"]私は世界を変えたい | [attr="class","achee"] [attr="class","castleonthehill"] ❝ Grinta hummed to herself, a hum taken from the laugh in her throat and sent gently out her nose. Squatting down to Eiji's level, a hand placed on either of her knees, she scanned what remained, of what will she could find left in the man. By this point, the opening she'd left had closed. Not that he could strike it now even if he wanted to. "Su'e," she'd muse, "let's say I'm ti'ed." With her cloak, heavy and lifeless for the time, still hanging from her shoulders, doing as she did took more than it would otherwise, than if she let it drop to the floor and reveal the rest of her bodysuit. How many times had she struck him now? She hadn't even bothered to count. She could ask Criollo, or— "'ow many times 'ave I 'it shou now?" She could ask the beaten himself; she figured his answer would be more useful than any literal count would anyway. "Four, fi'e times? Shou're 'ave to be some kind of masochi't — that, or shou might ju't be insane. Lord 'elp shou if shou're both."A quiet whirring came from the criminal. A humming, shifting sound, like grains of sand falling down an hourglass, sounded from their cloak. In its song, the garment lifted itself from the floor. At the end of it, and trained now to lift Eiji's chin for what little strength he had left, a blade brought him to meet her mask's blank gaze. Grinta made not so much as a lift of a finger, a twitch of an eye, and yet the cloak moved regardless. "Carrying thi' thing around's pro'ably mo'e of a ti'e for me, though." The blade traced the underside of his chin, lightly cutting into his flesh — barely enough to draw blood, but sufficient to have air sting the wound. "But this," she'd tap against the cloak, "doesn't get ti'ed — not li'e shou or I do. Thi' could go for hours if it wa' commanded to." It cut another wound into Eiji's chin. "But at thi' point, I don't think I need to prove anything.""Shou're lucky, shou know." Tilting back, her cloak caught her weight on its back, still poising the blade at his neck.
