His beauty was like the sun on a rainy day; so great was it, that even the manliest of men swooned, and he married Diana Lancaster, a vigilante known for her own beauty. Aerian Verdi is their daughter, and she lives up to the standards those two set. Thanks to her excellent genetics, as well as her quirk, Ego, she has all the tools to be one of the most electrifying men in all of showbiz incredible and memorable individuals one might come across. Her British Isles heritage is readily apparent. She has fair skin, blonde hair, blue eyes, and a number of structural features common to those from the region that really set her apart from the people of Japan. On top of that, she is downright stunning. Aerian is the type who, no matter what someone thinks of her, will be perceived as astonishingly, perfectly breathtakingly, beautiful - the kind of person that has a following, perhaps even a harem of smitten boys and girls. She's pretty well-off on her own, but the Ego quirk merely reinforces it, because Aerian believes if she is beautiful, then she will be, and so her quirk helps make sure she stays that way. Aerian is tall, especially in Japan. Six inches taller than the average woman, and at the same height, or just above it for men, makes her noteworthy as well. She is slim, too. Petite in many ways with a narrow waist and hips, long, slender legs, and a delicate set of shoulders and torso, she doesn't look like the type of girl that would be able to hold her own in a fight, much less do what she does. Even though she is extremely active and physically strong, she still is nice and soft, with smooth, clear skin.  As a young lady, she does have some feminine features, but like the rest of her, she's still quite petite, yet shapely. She has a small backside she hides behind a perfectly cut skirt at just the right length that someone can't get a peek if she bends over to touch her toes. She also has an exceptionally well-formed, slightly above average-sized bust to go with it - the type that could draw envy - because of course, Ego helps her out in that department! Sometimes, this is true, and sometimes it is very obvious. While it might seem cut-and-dry that Aerian, who possesses the dynamic, bombastic, and exuberant Ego quirk, has been bent and manipulated by it, but it's not so easy to tell if she is merely playing towards the quirk or if that is who she really is. Aerian is the type who feels called to serve a greater purpose in life. She is thoughtful in her own way, and extremely idealistic. She constantly strives to have a positive impact on other people and the world around her, and rarely shies away from an opportunity to do the right thing, even if it is not the easiest thing to do. It's fair to call her a born leader. Her passion and charisma allows her to inspire others in numerous facets of life, including their relationships. Few things bring her a deeper sense of joy and fulfillment than guiding friends and loved ones to grow into their best selves. Aerian tends to be fairly vocal about her values, including authenticity and altruism. When something strikes her as unjust or wrong, she is the first to speak up or step in, but also manages to refrain from coming across as brash or pushy as Aerian is a little more sensitive and insightful in regards to how to handle people. She has an uncanny ability to pick up on people's underlying motivations and beliefs, and at times can come to understand and grasp another person's mind and heart very quickly, perhaps even more-so than the individual in question. This can make her incredibly persuasive and inspiring when she needs to be. Aerian's secret weapon is her purity of intent. Generally speaking, she is motivated by a sincere wish to do the right thing rather than manipulate others or have power over them. Even if she disagrees with someone, she searches for common ground. She seeks to solve someone's problems, sometimes at any cost.  Aerian has a lot of extremely positive, helpful aspects to her that stem from her Ego quirk, and likely from her upbringing. Her father also has a similar quirk, and is a well-regarded hero. However, he is the exact definition of "uncool" for Aerian, and despite being so much like him, she goes way out of her way to set herself apart from his legacy. She has turned herself into a weird type of tsundere. She drapes a thin veil of delinquency over her otherwise traditional shoujo protagonist personality and does her best to hide it behind being "cool". Unfortunately for Aerian, she can't help but be the hero and so despite her cold approach and typically rough-and-tumble appearance, she has a heart of gold, and it's no secret - much to her chagrin... This unlikely pairing had met in England, gotten married, and decided to have a series of children, beginning with their eldest who would be named Aerian - and then her five sisters: Isabelle, Erin, Eloise, Cerys, and Millien Verdi. Among them, Isabelle was born quirkless, Erin and Eloise inherited Daeva from their mother, Cerys inherited Ego from their father, and Millien developed a unique quirk that allowed her to switch places with a specific object. Only Aerian was born with both of their parents' quirks blended into one. Shortly after Aerian's third birthday, and not long after Erin was born, the Verdis decided to leave England where they had been living because Diana's sordid past was lingering over their heads and they didn't want that to hold their children back. It took some thinking and a bit of planning, but a colleague of The Great Heroman made some recommendations and eventually helped them get moved to Japan, where Aerian's parents hoped they could attend prestigious hero academies such as U.A.. However, moving to, and living in Japan, would not be easy as a foreigner. There was the difficulty of adapting to a new culture, a new language, and many other things - some prejudice not withstanding. However, the The Great Heroman and his family... anything was possible. FITTING IN & STANDING OUT There was a time where Japan wasn't the most welcoming for outsiders, and even now, it's not always the best - but with Heroes having become a major thing, and many heroes moving all over the world to better serve people in need, Japan had begun seeing foreigners as a little more commonplace than once before. Still, as a child, Aerian had a little trouble. She didn't speak the language very well, but that'd work itself out over time. She had trouble making friends at first, especially since she had so much trouble with her quirk. However, eventually, she managed to gain some confidence, and things took a very swift turn  With her Ego quirk working, Aerian's ability to present herself as the coolest thing since sliced bread went through the roof, and the previously friendless foreigner became the center of attention - something she had held on to until it was time to graduate into high school where she finally began to figure out who she was going to be: and it was going to be spectacular. Aerian possessed an exceptional voice, whether by birth or virtue of her quirk, and she made some friends along the way who were very musically inclined, and together they formed a band - and band that would help inspire Aerian into the future as one of the most electrifying and recognizable hero-idols in Japan. ZERO TO HERO There were a number of options for schools that Aerian could attend after she graduated from high school. Though, options only existed in a very literal sense that there were multiple choices out there for the average person. However, for someone with Ego like Aerian... only the best would suffice. U.A. University. There was none greater, none more respected, and none more worthy than someone who would someday surpass The Great Heroman as the greatest hero to ever live! Not that her father was the best hero by any means, but he did set a pretty high bar for someone at Aerian's level. She pass the exams and was accepted into the university, and from there she excelled. New school, new me, or so she said. All the past things she had struggled through were gone and her life practically hit the reset button. Burdens were gone, troubles disappeared, and shackles that held Aerian back were stripped away. She was free to become the hero she was meant to be! Aerian declared herself the Galvanizing Hero, Deidran, and from there she blasted her way through UA and into the world beyond as a full-fledged pro hero. However, that was not enough for Deidran, she established her own hero agency, the Rising Sun Hero Agency and Idol Project, and even though it's quite rough around the edges and headquartered out of a fairly dilapidated building not really worthy of a hero agency, it is a place to start and grow from. Deidran's legacy was just beginning, and she was already becoming one of the most reconiseable brands in the business. Who could outshine the wielder of Ego, after all? She knew she was where she was destined to be, and that some day, she would be at the forefront of all heroes in Japan and outshine whatever darkness villainy could bring her way. Items & equipment HERO OUTFIT(S) NAME: Defender of the Rising Sun RANK: C MANUFACTURER: Unknown DESCRIPTION: The armor of Deidran is a multi-layered monstrosity so garish and gaudy that few would consider it practical, but it combines so many well-known elements into a show-stopping piece that few would call anything less than cool.  It certainly has a very imperial feel, and plenty of the Rising Sun motif to help it live up to its name.  The Defender of the Rising Sun is quite durable, but otherwise has no noteworthy features. Though she does have a version with pants, Deidran firmly believes that a skirt is a cooler thing for a girl to wear, so she does. Deidran's hero uniform acts as a barrier, protecting her from damage, and must be destroyed before she begins taking any noteworthy damage that otherwise would not bypass her armor.  WEAPONS NAME: Gran Mal RANK: C MANUFACTURER: Unknown DESCRIPTION: Gran Mal, also known as Nemesis, is a rather unique melee weapon. In many ways, it is a glaive, though a glaive is designed to cut. Gran Mal doesn't so much cut as it does cleave with raw brute force. It does come together into a blade, but it is not sharp like a sword, more like a log splitter or an axe. Not even a fool could cut their finger on Gran Mal, but that doesn't stop Deidran from cleaving through just about anything that gets in her way.  Gran Mal does have the ability to extend its blade, breaking apart in segments and nearly tripling the length of the bladed portion which can increase her reach and catch an opponent off guard. Gran Mal has a secondary feature gained by pairing with her quirk. Ego's ability to release its pent-up energy in energy blasts or pressure waves is channeled through Gran Mal during a swing and released out the back of the blade like an explosive backblast that propels the weapon beyond what her normal strength could achieve.  MISC ITEMS Cell Phone: Aerian has a Sony Xperia 1 II in a red-and-black case that depicts a series of cute anime-style chibi mascots. Key Chain: They keychain Aerian carries is pretty empty. It has her house key and a couple little keychain anime mascot collectibles.  Pocket Knife: Aerian carries a red and black SOG Twitch II pocket knife when not banned from doing so - never know when it will come in handy. Wrist Watch: Despite being dated and mostly rendered obsolete by cell phones, Aerian wears a Seiko SRP777 Prospex diver's watch in black and silver. Watches aren't as useful or necessary as they once were, but they are often perceived as cool and that is good enough for Aerian. Wallet: No self-respecting individual can really get by without a wallet. Aerian's wallet is a nice black faux-leather that contains some cash, her money cards, and some identification cards. quirk & abilities Quirk Overview QUIRK NAME: Ego QUIRK TYPE: Emitter/Accumulator QUIRK RANK: A- QUIRK SUMMARY: Deidran is the fortunate blend of two quirks, Rule of Cool and Daeva, inherited from her parents. Ego is the manifestation of the hero's fighting spirit, their will to continue, their confidence, and of course, just how cool they are.  EGO DESCRIPTION: Ego... The perfect quirk for a protagonist. Her father's quirk, Rule of Cool, transformed his feelings of coolness into the ability to emit random gimmicks associated with the perfect protagonist. Random gusts of wind and the perfect time to rustle a cap, a little bit of dust for the perfectly dynamic photo, some minor color bomb or light-show pyrotechnics, and more. Nothing overtly useful for combat, but creative application could have them used as minor tricks. However, The Great Heroman's quirk was mostly to be cool and impress others, not fight; if a situation arises where a "cool" gimmick can be used mechanically, it functions at a D- level regardless of quirk level. The marriage of The Great Heroman to Diana Lancaster, aka Daeva, gave Ego it's second half. Much like the first, it is a quirk that relies on emotion, but unlike Rule of Cool, Daeva was based on confidence. For Deidran, her confidence and fighting spirit brings out her mother's aspect in the form of crackling golden lightning that surrounds her and can be converted into numerous forms of energy blasts and pressure waves. Ego's influence bolsters Deidran. It can supercharge her presence and presence-based skills by one level for every three levels of Ego, and scales depending upon her current accumulation. She can quickly increase her charge through a weird type of support, where the more fans she has, the greater her confidence is, and thus, the stronger Ego becomes. Having a group of fans cheering for her, for example will boost her overall power. EXAMPLE EGO FEATURES:  FALLING WITH STYLE If you're going to be a hero, you better be able to fall with style. It doesn't matter how far, nor how fast she falls, Aerian always generally falls gracefully, and lands just as heroically. It does not prevent her from taking damage, and is only viable when done under her own initiative. PERFECTLY EPIC ATMOSPHERE & POISE If you're going to be an epic hero whose existence is ruled by ego and fighting spirit, you need to be able to set the scene. Aerian has the ability to rustle up some light breeze, a puff of dust, smoke, sparkles, or whatever else it may be, regardless of where she is. (UN)NECESSARILY AWESOME FLAIR Does it matter what Aerian is doing? Not really. She can somehow manage to make it as physically and emotionally extra as possible. While it does not expand her skillset, if she can do something, she can make it flashy to an unnecessary and almost ridiculous degree. EGO DISCHARGE As Ego builds up energy in the form of golden electricity crackling around Deidran, she may discharge that energy into a number of different energy-type blasts like beams, balls, and disks. They have a tendency to explode upon impact and can pack quite a punch. QUIRK DRAWBACKS Ego is not a dual quirk, but a blended quirk. Deidran cannot rely on just confidence to generate her energy beams or her feelings of being cool to help her with her narrative gimmicks, she must have them all. This requires an incredible willpower, great focus, and of course, a singular mind to being cool and confident! However, that is not easy, because as her feeling waver, so too does her power.  To get the most out of Ego, Deidran must be as cool as possible, which often results in her being in extremely dangerous situations and taking undue risks, but the output in such a situation can be hard for even the most hardened villains to weather.  Ego can put out some pain at full charge, but as it does so, it loses its charge and has to reaccumulate more. Charge is directly displayed in just how much of her golden electricity is crackling around her, something she really has no control over aside from being able to just toggle it to "off" entirely, which empties her accumulation and blocks more so she isn't going off randomly. This means that it is possible for her opponents to know just how strong she can be at any given moment and thus plan accordingly.  Though not particularly strong on its own, her golden electricity, when left to its own devices, can zap people and things around her, so she has to be cautious about proximity. It doesn't inflict much in the way of damage, but that doesn't mean it won't cause problems! ATTRIBUTES » AWARENESS (C-) Being aware of your surroundings is a massive benefit to anyone, but for a hero it could mean life or death for her or someone else. She's far from perfect, but Aerian has a good eye for her surroundings. » PRESENCE (B-) Aerian's life often depends on her presence. If she isn't cool, her quirk doesn't work. If it doesn't work, she's just a normal girl. Her presence is potent, but it is necessary to keep her in the fight. » CONSTITUTION (C) Due to being a hero and working her body into physical fitness, Aerian has a good bit of constitution. Certainly nothing like what she will need to become a true pro, but for now it will suffice. » SPEED (C+) When it comes time to saving lives, then being able to be where you need to be is imperative. Aerian is swift on her feet, but no olympian. She has a long way to go before she can be everywhere. » DEXTERITY (C-) Even though Aerian's quirk provides her with a lot of added benefits, she needs to be able to function without it. Part of that is being cool, and being dexstrous is cool. If she can't get around, stumbles and falls, or looks foolish, then she can't get her quick back. » STRENGTH (C-) Aerian works out, but she isn't shredded by any means. Stronger than the average girl off the street, but hardly the strongest around. She relies on her quirk for power, but she is well aware that it can shut off and leave her helpless. Also, being strong is pretty cool, as are abs! Limit Breakers: 8 Available | 0/45 Used ABILITIES ABILITY NAME: Martial Arts ABILITY RANK: D+ ABILITY DESCRIPTION: It's fair to say that Deidran does not rely on actual martial arts most of the time, however, that does not mean she is entirely untrained. She has some skill that is slowly improving, but it is certainly not a major focus.  She takes a few lessons in Jiu-Jitsu and Taekwondo, so she has some knowledge of basic grapples and locks to restrain villains and a lot of kick-based techniques to supplement the use of her weapon and put pressure on her opponent with a true flurry of blows. played by Fairemont Template by Fairemont
