The golden boi grinned as he slide a milkshake along with a poorly drawn blueprint of a staff. Since Kei was their roommate they were intimately aware of the fact that the support student could never say no to a request and while they did experience some guilt coming to Kei but considering the dude needed practice to become an amazing engineer they figured it was a win-win situation.

"So…I had this idea for a staff…Well…Kind of a staff" Zenkai began to explain before taking a sip of his own cookies and cream milkshake. "It's a staff then it can change into a bunch of shit! Like a shield, or a sword, or a scythe, you get it right?" The golden boi bounced around I'm their chair as they spoke. Was it a dumb idea? Sure. Did it seem like a lot of work? Definitely. Would it be the coolest thing the two of them had ever seen if they pulled it off? Obviously. They had gotten the idea from a manga they had read a while ago and since they didn't use their quirk they needed all the help they could get when it came to fighting.

"I figured it would probably take you a while to actually figure out how it works and all that so I don't mind waiting…but…do you think that something like this might be possible to do?"

The following was the first thing that came to Kei's mind when his roommate came up to him with another idea for gear:



Accepting one's fate was the story behind the image; especially when it was an event that happened before. Though it wasn't like he didn't like the position he was in. Repeat clients meant they were happy with his previous work, which was nothing but good news in his book. Zenkai was also his friend; unless the request was outrageous, he'll do what he can to aid them in being the best hero they can be.

Though honestly, the sweet offering certainly helped his mood.

Kei smiled as he pulled both the milkshake and blueprint toward himself. "Thank you, I'm glad the gauntlets are workin' well for ya! So let's see what you got here..." As he looked down at the sketch, he lifted his beverage to sip, making sure its level didn't go down by refilling it with his Quirk at the same rate as his drinking.

"Oooooh, shapeshiftin' staff. That sounds sick." It reminded him of an old project he shelved involving a large blaster being split into two guns. "And doable dependin' on what things you want it to turn into. If some of those things are big you might lose some durability which'll make it more likely to break." When he said this he dug into his pocket for a pen, drawing a question mark on the shield. "Might have to think of the size of this option at least."

"I gotta ask though..." Placing his drink down, Kei turned his attention to the titan, his curiosity evident on his face. "Have you worked with weapons before? I don't think I've seen you carry anythin'."

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]Zenkai continued to sip on his milkshake as he listened to Kei, nodding his head in approval as their roommate called the staff "Sick". Kei was a good lad and his taste in gear was impeccable. Not only did he welcome the challenge of making a new set of gear, he took Zenkai's ridiculous request seriously. Honestly, Zenkai didn't even take themselves seriously when they were drawing out the staff. The stupid blueprint had things like "Kapow" next to a Shield and "Sharp" Next to the sword, hell even the scythe had the comment of "Rocket powered???" Everything about the idea would seem completely idiotic to anyone else besides Kei.

"Well, definitely going to need it durable so we can cut down on the length of some things to increase durability, or cut down on how many weapons there are…At the moment I was thinking six or seven but if that's too much we can narrow it down to a few. I'd rather have strength and durability over versatility when it comes to weapons." The golden boi finished, looking down at his half finished milkshake before nudging it closer to Kei and looking at him expectantly.

Zenkai didn't have to mull over Kei's question for long, responding almost immediately to the question. "Nope! Not in the least! Only thing I really know how to use is my fists! Though that's not going to stop me! I can always just start learning how to use other weapons while you make it, or just learn after it's finished! I doubt it'll take THAT long to become adept at those weapons…at least for how I want to use them!" The titan grinned from ear to ear "I'm sure it'll be fine!"

"Strength and resilience more important than versatility, got it." It made sense; Zenkai was a hard-hitter so they needed a weapon that could survive the impact. Having it snap like a twig was the last thing either of them wanted. Kei wrote more notes on the sheet. "Staff, sword and shield are the for sure's-" A snort escaped him when he came across the text next to the scythe. He shook his head as he put question marks next to it too. "Okay, yes to the scythe but I'm not sure about the rocket-powered bit. It's not gonna react well to your-" Discretion, remember. He gestured at the titan awkwardly, hoping they'd understand. "Y'know."

Kei laughed in surprise when the titan so boldly admitted they knew nothing about weapons. "I like your confidence! But yeah, I'd recommend learnin' to use each one separately before you train with a weapon that switches between them. I don't want you hurtin' yourself when your shield turns into a sword and you weren't prepared for it."

When the other milkshake was pushed to him, almost empty already, he looked at the titan with a raised brow questionably. It was only when he turned to his own still full drink that he realized. Right. He did want to tell them something but it seemed they caught on first. Kei pulled their beverage closer to himself, tapping its side with his fingers in thought. "You've noticed huh?"

They didn't want anyone finding out about it but when getting custom gear made for you it was a bit of a necessity sometimes "Yeah, that's why the rocket is powered by you know what" The sapphire-eyed titan tapped their head with their index finger as if they had it figured out all along. "That shouldn't be too much of an issue, right?"

When it came to fighting and learning Zenkai didn't exactly enjoy it but they tolerated it for now. When they first arrived to school they couldn't be fucked to try and be a hero, hell he was still on the fence about it. But saving lives did make him feel good and they couldn't exactly half ass that so, training was necessary and training smart was more important. While they did kind of just want to jostle it all together, kei was right, they should be done separately before everything was put together.

"I mean, you've been drinking that think for the last five minutes and it's never gone down a single drop…" Zenkai didn't exactly know what was going on but if they were getting free milkshakes…or pouring alcohol into theirs, Zen wanted in. "So, what is it? A bottle or something?"

Kei watched the titan as they tapped their head, eyes widening when he realized what they meant. "Ohhhhh." No fuel in the weapon at all then. He erased the question marks next to the scythe and wrote exclamation points instead. "Okay, now that's doable. Which makes durability all the more important, but it can just be made of the same stuff as the gauntlets."

Once he was satisfied with his roommate's acceptance of a new training regime, his focus shifted on the new topic of conversation: the drink. He laughed a bit. "Ah. No, it didn't." As if to show Zenkai their eyes weren't playing tricks on them, the support student lifted his shake and sipped it again, the contents still not decreasing. "But no, nothin' like that."

Placing it down again, his voice fell to a whisper. "Quirk." Kei glanced around him to make sure no one else heard that. Then he turned back to the freshman. "If I show you what it is, can you not tell anyone?" His face portrayed worry beyond just getting caught with an unlimited drink. His Quirk was dangerous. Not in the same way as his friend's, but it made him both a danger and a target.

He trusted Zenkai to keep a secret anyway given their own but he wanted to hear that promise from the person themselves.

On one hand the sapphire-eyed titan understood the need for verbal confirmation. If you wanted to keep anything a secret the other person needed to swear on it and even then there was a chance that they would just go around blabbing to everyone else. On the other hand, Kei could have just used his knowledge of Zen's quirk as leverage to ensure the golden boi's silence. Alas, Kei still had no backbone so there was only one true option.

"You know I ain't about to go blabbing to anyone…but if you need me to say it outloud, I promise to never say a word about it." To emphasize this point the monkey king even held up their pinky in the case that Kei wanted to make such a heavy promise. "I'd be a hypocrite if I went around blabbing about what you can do while asking you to keep mine all hush hush" Kei was a good lad to boot, he didn't deserve any such ill will.

"Though I got to say, your quirk seems like it would be a hell of a lot more useful than mine" Zenkai didn't have any idea what their quirk really could do but the fact that the dude could basically enjoy infinite milkshakes wad pretty interesting "So…What that thing do?"

A surprised laugh bubbled up at the gesture. It was so simple that even kids did it; link two pinkies together to ensure a promise didn't get broken. Yet, given what Kei could do, such an action put the titan at risk. They just didn't realize it.

At the same time though the sophomore shouldn't need to think such things anymore. Not only were they just awful and unwarranted things to worry about to begin with given his control, Recall's device invalidated them even more. He tugged at his wristband. If he didn't trust himself, he should at least trust her work.

With a deep breath, Kei raised his hand to grasp Zenkai's pinky with his own. "Thank you. You don't know how much this means to me."

When he let go he flipped the blueprint around and started drawing. Saying his Quirk in the middle of the cafeteria posed too much risk, so he needed to dive back to their previous topic. He hoped Zenkai would forgive him for the sudden change. As he scribbled though, Kei grasped the titan's milkshake and held it close to his chest, using his body to hide what he was doing. But from his roommate's perspective it was clear; the contents of the cup were rising.

He pushed the topped of drink and the schematic across the table. "So! I made some adjustments here and there but overall it's doable." On the sheet was a more refined version of the titan's design, with all its components defined if hard to read with his chicken scratches called his writing.

Additionally, there was a note in the corner that didn't look at all like the rest. He made sure to make it as clear as possible. Replenish: Can duplicate any liquid and fine grain. Kei's finger tapped it so their eyes would focus there before he sat back. "What do you think?"

The golden boi understood, they shared a bond over the secrecy of their quirks. As soon as their pinkies touched the deal was sealed. Zenkai would never reveal the sophomores quirk, even if it killed him. "Deal's done, secrets sealed, you never have to worry about me ever telling anyone. Hell, if anyone finds out and you need me to beat them up just let me know"

Upon seeing the quirk, the sapphire-eyed titan's eyes widened as he started to realize the full potential of Kei's quirk. It now made complete and total sense why Kei would want to keep his quirk a secret. Zenkai thought his quirk was strong but what Kei could do could change the fucking world, topple industries and even just flat out kill people. Still, for college students this quirk could be used to cause extreme havoc.

Zenkai looked over at Kei, his face completely serious, looking around the room before leaning in. What they were about to say was of grave circumstance. "Can you make someone pee forever?"

No opinion on the weapon at all. All the titan's attention was on his Quirk now, because of course it was. Kei revealed that he could turn a drop into several gallons if he put his mind to it; save himself several trips to the grocery store by refilling ingredients until they expired. He limited himself regardless, knowing full well the repercussions of overusing it. So thinking that the device was fine, the support student prepared himself for the oncoming flood of questions Zenkai would surely have.

But they only asked one.

The answer was immediate; a knee jerk reaction stemmed from the pure audacity of the query. "No."

Kei didn't let himself think that, theoretically, that was 100% a lie.

He could only hope that was the worst question they had. He couldn't imagine how much worse it could go from there.
