Shibuya.

She had been here many times before, but never for the purpose her and Kenta had come here today. Heck, it wasn't even her first time in Shibuya with Kenta. Just recently they had celebrated the Spring festivities together, and while suddenly developing a quirk for a day could have been a traumatic experience for her, Kenta was there to make sure that wasn't the case at all. She probably hadn't told him, but his presence that day meant a lot to her. If she had developed force powers all on her own, who knows how bad her panic attack would have gotten? Could she have hurt people against her own will?

She didn't want to dwell on it regardless. Nothing good came of that. Instead, she was stressing over her current situation. ''I appreciate you inviting me out here, Kenta.'' She smiled at him, she could feel her nerves building. ''..But are you really sure about having me on your stream? I-I mean I'm an amateur, I'm not used to cameras, I might totally ruin it for you!'' She was growing increasingly flustered at the thought. How many viewers did he have? Oh no, what if she did something embarrassing and it ended up online? What if it haunted her well into her hero career, doomed to always be known as the woman who slipped on Kenta's stream.

While the two hero students were chatting and getting everything set up, from afar a young guy around their age watched them with an air of apathy, frequently glancing down at his phone to reconfirm who he was looking at. Indeed it was Freja Helt, but who was the other one? What was with all the equipment?

Here they were, back at it as Crispy Shibuya…probably didn’t sound as smooth as that one American meme, he’d need to work on something catchy. Shibuya was one of those spots he was really looking forward to. All of Tokyo was much larger and kind of…overwhelming compared to his hometown, but Shibuya was like the heart of it, with all sorts of people going back and forth, something always happening.

I guess in a way it made it a bit of a cliche spot for him to try and record something…but it was Shibuya man, he had to do something here! And he already spotted a few cool spots he could flex his skill a bit on. He even managed to save up a bit for an actual camera! It wasn’t anything fancy, but it was a stop above a smartphone. The only issue was he couldn’t quite leave a digital camera unattended…Farrin and Sada were out on a date so he didn’t bother them, but he knew one other person he could count on!

“Freja, it's fine, really! I wasn’t that big to begin with. Needed to be a bit…lowkey back at prep school you know? Just want to get back into the swing of things so it's probably going to be quiet. I'll be lucky if we break 100 viewers” he said, with that being quite a low number for someone streaming…though he didn’t quite consider it a bit more stressful for someone not used to doing it “Look, if you're not comfortable with staying on the stream you can step behind the camera to make sure it's rolling well, but I don’t want you to be, like, stuck just as a spectator! Being live on stream can be really fun! But again, the choice is yours…either way, I’m going live in a minute!” he finished with a cheeky smile, leaving the offer open to her. He did appreciate her help and wanted to be sure she was comfortable, but he felt nudging her a bit towards something she hadn’t tried before could be good for her.

''You say that like 100 wouldn't be a lot, 100 people? That's so many it's hard to even picture.'' She was pacing back and forth, going over possible scenarios that could happen on the stream before they were even live. Should she rehearse what to say? It didn't seem like Kenta had written a script or anything. ''I can help with the camera but... I've given it some thought, being a hero is all about pushing our boundaries and trying new things, and getting a better handle on our fear, or something like that, right? M-Maybe it won't be so scary once the camera is rolling.'' She smiled back, choosing to remain hopeful and trust in Kenta.

''What are they getting up to over there?'' The guy continued to observe them. He was wearing a purple hoodie and baggy pants so it wasn't like he was particular well-camouflaged, but he wasn't doing anything malicious yet either. Had the students been close enough to see him, they would notice the tattoo of a black spider on the back of one of his hands.

''What was your streaming name anyway? You said you started doing all this in prep school?'' Since they were out here it couldn't be gaming content, well, not unless Kenta was about to pull out a whole computer setup. No yeah, it was definitely something physical, or maybe he was a variety streamer? Not tied down by any one topic, but could just do whatever he wanted.

“Huh…Now that you mention it that is a pretty big number, though that was like, my biggest stream number usual its like in the 40’s…but yeah that is a bunch of people, you just see some other streams have them in 1000’s and…it just skew’s your perspective a bit” he said with a bit of a thoughtful expression. It wasn’t that he didn’t appreciate the people watching him…he just knew how big things could get. Heh, one could dream.

As she responded, he said with a smile “Yeah, good point…also, for better or worse heroes are kind of public figures. Even those that go all lone wolf and try to steer away from the spotlight have their fans and all…so I guess learning to cope with people watching you is a big deal. I know it’s a big deal, but its also a big deal you're trying to learn to deal with it! And I’m glad I can help in some way” he replied with a smile.

After a moment he added with a more sheepish tone “Well, when I started I may have not been the most creative… luckily there wasn’t a different Kenta in Japan with the same skills as I had so GelManKenta was free, heh. I kind of have a new name in mind but I think Ill save that for my actual hero name” he said with a wink before adding “to be honest I started doing it sooner, back at my home town! I guess I kind of do… like a lifestyle thing? At first it was showing around my village…and showing of just where I could get to. You know, parkour style!”

After some more walking he spotted a place that looked good, a small park like place in the middle of a shopping complex. There wasn’t that much people around, and you have things like staircases or poles to jump of of…and he could even do a jump from one of the higher ones. As he led Freja to the center he said “I think we can start here…I can introduce the both of us and give a quick rundown how I was doing since UA, and you can Chime in talking a bit about school and yourself…Hmm, what do you think is the biggest jump around here I can make without getting in to much trouble?”! he asked matter of factly, getting in the zone of trying to come up with a good plan…not considering this might have been a bit of a new idea for Freja.

''1000? How do people even function in front of a camera of 1000 people.'' She chuckled nervously. Took some next level nerves of steel to pull something like that off. When she thought about it like that, wasn't this a type of hero training too? Once they graduated and started working as fulltime heroes, there was probably a good chance that they would end up in front of a camera and being interviewed one way or another, so in a way this was preparing them for that. The way Freja saw it, Kenta was miles ahead of her here, but it made her want to be better too! Maybe she could become confident in streaming and stuff like that too!

''Yeah.'' She smiled back. ''Let's become pros at this thing.'' She said just as much to build up courage and convince herself she wasn't going to freak out the second they went live. ''GelManKenta'' She teased with a grin. ''Hey, that's perfect! It let's people know exactly what you're all about when they see the username.'' Then there was the mystery surrounding his hero name. ''Can't wait to see what you go for.''

''Sure! This place looks great. The biggest jump?'' She put a hand up to her chin and looked around. ''I'm not sure... Would you get in trouble for doing stuff like this?'' She looked back at Kenta, ''it's not like you're putting other lives at risk or anything like that, right? Maybe if we're two students here the school will be convinced that it's safer, since we can have each other's backs.'' She shrugged. This was uncharted territory for her too, but they weren't like going out and fighting villains or anything like that.

''Wait, isn't that?'' The figure in the purple hoodie mumbled from afar as he looked away from Freja and instead focused on Kenta. The more he looked at him, the more familiar he was starting to look. ''I need to get a closer look.'' He walked casually towards them, though it would take him a minute to get close enough for a conversation.

''Okay... I think I'm ready to go live.'' She was nervous, but she wasn't alone in this, Kenta was here with her too.

“I imagine it gets a lot of getting used to…but we all start somewhere, right? Even people that have like thousands of fans, actors, or big heroes…they all started at school” he said with a chuckle. He was trying his best to act confidently, though the thought of bigger popularity was also slightly harrowing for him…but slowly getting used to it was probably the way. He rubbed his head as she teased him about the name before saying “Yeah, though it also made it a bit awkward sometimes when I was trying to be…not as obvious with my quirk, heh”

As she pondered the question of potential trouble he would say “Well, in general, it's as you said, kind of depends on what we do. If I start doing flips over random people someone probably going to call the police…technically doing too wild things isn’t exactly kosher but as long as it looks cool other people like to watch” he said with some confidence as he pondered a bit before saying “I guess we could start here…I could do a squat on this rail before flipping back… then we can walk around a bit answering questions and maybe taking suggestions… I guess there might be a few questions with me showing up with a friend on stream” he finished with a chuckle. He didn’t really do a lot of collaboration in the past.

As she said she was ready he nodded setting up the camera while saying “Ok, just relax and treat it like you're talking through some web app. Don’t worry, it’ll be fine!” he encouraged her as he preached up on the railing behind them in a squat-like a pose, before exclaiming to the Camera “Heyaaa, GelMan here! I know it's been a while, but I have been busy with a lot of stuff…including meeting new friends!” he exclaimed while nodding his head towards Freja… as he did, he turned his head to see someone walking towards them. He raised an eyebrow, not saying anything but clearly looking at whoever it was.

''Right, right. No one is born with it.'' She chuckled along, buying into his attempts to act confident. ''I see, I didn't think about that, I guess I never had a quirk to name myself after so it was never really something I had to worry about.'' Freja had a quirk, but Elias, the consciousness who was active within Freja didn't. He had traces of a quirk, but it never showed itself until the day he died, so for all intents and purposes he was quirkless for life. Even more so now that there wasn't a shred of quirk energy left in her current body.

''Yeah! And I'll have your back, so it'll be more safe. I can keep an eye out for any people that might come our way or save you if something goes wrong- eh, not that I doubt your skill of course!'' She gave a thumbs up, sweating a bit at the implication that she implied he couldn't do the tricks, her mouth was getting ahead of her thoughts again! ''R-Right!'' She really hoped she wouldn't get too many questions. His audience was more interested in him anyway, so they were probably going to ask him about his life and what he was up to at UAU.

''Okay.'' She took a deep breath, just relax and act natural. When he referred to her as the stream kicked off she waved timidly at the camera. ''I'm BatGirl! Nice to meet you all!'' It was a split second decision to introduce herself by a nickname she had never used online, all because Kenta introduced himself as GelMan. Wouldn't it be strange if she just said her real name? Too late for regrets now she had already said it!

“Heyaaa, GelMan here! I know it's been a while, but I have been busy with a lot of stuff…including meeting new friends!”

The sound came from purple hoodie guy's phone. ''No waaay.'' He said in a monotone voice, there was only a faint hint of enthusiasm. When he approached them he immediately pointed at Kenta. ''You. You're GelMan aren't you? I'm a big fan.'' He then looked over at Freja and let out a long sigh. ''But maaaan. This totally sucks.'' Freja who was immediately suspicious was already reaching for her bat. ''I have orders to kill that one.'' He pointed at Freja, ''but that means now that you've seen me I totally have to kill you too. What a drag, and I was looking forward to more of your content.'' He chewed something in the side of his mouth before spitting it out towards Kenta.

''Look out, Kenta!'' She rushed in front of him, deflecting three small metal spikes that were aimed at his throat with her bat. Before she could get her bearing, the villain charged forward, transforming his hand into a black bear trap which he sunk into Freja's right arm, drawing blood immediately as she let out a scream, pain searing through her arm. ''Do you know what I call my quirk?'' He continued calmly, his eyes completely cold to the suffering he was trying to bring on Kenta and Freja. ''Lowlife. Because that's the kind of person I am.''

''He's a Spider! He's an assassin!!'' She cried, watching the blood drip down her arm. If she had known they were still after her she would never have gotten Kenta involved.

''Snitch.'' Lowlife replied, transforming his other arm into a bear trap, this time aiming it at Freja's neck.

“Right…well, you still needed to work on your hero name and all that,” he said with a slight twinge of guilt in his voice. It still surprised him a bit Freja was quirkless…it was admirable she was at UAU still, just…it felt so unusual. He never really met anyone without some ability before her, tho he tried his best to just treat her like any other friend. Even if he did feel like he slipped up sometimes.

He perked up a bit as she said she’d make sure other people wouldn’t be too close before laughing a bit “Well, even if you good at it, wipeouts are bound to happen. Don’t worry, I’m pretty used to falling and getting back up” he added with a thumbs up. In between doing acrobatic stuff and wrestling stuff, he sure knew how to take a fall. Even if it still hurt.

And they were live, with both of them giving quick introductions. He imagined the initial surge of the chat was hard to read, people saying hi, spamming emotes… probably some joking about the appearance of a wild girl on his stream. Though he couldn’t quite see the chat as he spoke. Before he could get into the plan for the moment, they were interrupted by someone. The guy seemed to know his stream but he didn’t know the dude “Hey, nice to meet you man, didn’t expect…wait what?” his posture stiffened as the dude continued to speak, chewing something all along…before ending up spiting some stuff at him.

Even As Freja swung her bat to defend him, Kenta was on the move sidestepping away from her and the apparent assassin. One that was attacking his friend with a bear trap hand…guy could change into metal or something. Well, didn’t matter. He was trying to hurt his friend. And he wasn’t having it.

Two gel arms would sprout from his back, rushing towards the guy's arms and trying to grab them, engulfing the bear traps in a thick gel. Whether the arms would hit their mark, or land somewhere on the side he’d called out “Well congrats, you’ll be the first dumbass criminal I beat up on stream!” before he let the gel arms pull him in closer towards the guy, zipping through the air while aiming a knee strike right at his face.

''O-Oh yeah no it's okay! Thinking of a hero name is tough no matter your situation.'' The worst part was her hero name was actually related to the circumstances of her being. In other words, it was related to Elias's old quirk. Now she felt bad too for technically not telling the truth. Why was she like this? It's not like she couldn't trust Kenta with that information. It's not like it was a secret either, perhaps just unnecessarily complicated? ''Ooh, working with a real pro I see.'' She grinned, giving him a thumbs up back. The fact that getting hurt or falling didn't keep him from doing what he loved was impressive.

Her eyes widened at seeing the chat as it sped up, emotes she had never seen before and sentences of words flying by faster than she could read. This was wild, they were really live! She looked over her shoulder at first and turned to face the guy in the purple hoodie as he approached. ''Shiiit your quirk is the real deal, GelMan!'' He sounded more amused than anything as his arms were stopped by the sticky gel. ''Hell no I won't! I have a job to do!'' He shouted back with explosive anger, Freja staggering backwards, before taking a homerun swing, aiming her bat right into Lowlife's stomach. The villain reeled, coughing, stuck in place as her swing barely moved him a couple inches back. ''Hey, GelMan...'' His voice was a low rumble. She finally realized why her attack had been largely ineffective when she looked down and saw bear trap spikes sticking out of his midsection, having acted like a spiky metal armor. ''Can I have your channel after I kill you? I can do stunts too.'' He chewed up more spike bullets, shooting them at Freja to keep her busy as he yanked at the gel arms with all his might, trying to lock Kenta into a contest of strength. If successful, he would try to pull Kenta close enough that he could headbutt him, hoping to free himself from the gel in the process.

He could see Freja was still a bit stressed but he simply gave her a reassuring smile as he finished setting up. He could imagine being a quirkless person at UAU was nerve-wracking, but she was doing well! He knew she could achieve a lot she just needed a bit more confidence. And he hoped he could help her along the way slightly. And it seemed like a good start, she didn’t like feint at the stream starting…tho whatever they were planning to do would be rudely interrupted.

He managed to catch the guy's hands before he could do anything more, though he seemed more annoyed than worried. He saw Freja run up and swing for the guy's stomach but he seemed unphased, apparently being able to create a metal chunk to defend himself before he started pulling against the arms.

At first, Kenta struggled against him with his arm, though as he was pulled closer he felt the guy was probably physically stronger than him. Tho as he did so, he started pushing gel into his boots. After the guy attacked his friend and taunted him, he replied “Psh…you think anyone would want to watch a loser like you?!” Before he jumped up, forward, his arm no longer resisted the enemy's pulling, giving him a lot of forward moments. He was flying right at the guy, legs extended in a dropkick, a solid layer of his gel forming a thick block to hit the guy's head with.

Dodging and weaving around the metal spikes, only one of them managed to hit Freja in her leg as she did her best to stay within a close range of Lowlife.

The villain cackled, lording his power to deflect her bat over her. ''You can't hurt me with that puny metal ba-'' Before he could finish his sentence she brought her bat around in another swing, smacking it across his face before he could defend himself. Grinning, bearing the pain as blood dripped from her right arm and left leg, then she retorted. ''It only works when you're faster than me, dumbass!'' With her situational awareness she saw what was going on and stepped aside for Kenta to come flying in. With their opponent dazed from her bat strike, he was in the perfect position to receive a devastating dropkick.

Before Lowlife could hope to deliver any kind of comeback, both to Freja, but also to Kenta calling him a loser, all the air left his lungs as he was sent flying by the dropkick. Freja wasted little time pursuing the villain, knowing full well that her best odds of standing up to him was up close. ''A loser like me?!'' He gasped and groaned, clawing his way back up onto his feet as small black metal spikes covered his entire body like a pincushion. ''You're the loser here, GelMan! You don't even have a million followers, I could get that many in a week if I wanted to!''

She swung her bat at Lowlife once more, but this time his spikes absorbed most of the blow again. ''I can't bite through that damn gel, but if I can still kill you..'' He glared at her. At this point she had realized that she was probably a little faster and more experience in close quarters combat than the villain was. All she had to do was keep up with him, not bleed out and hope that Kenta could deliver the final blow.

Chewing on something, Lowlife got ready to create more spikes for him to spit, but before he could, she swung her bat upwards and into his lower jaw, rattling his brains in the process. ''Kenta!'' She called out, dashing behind the villain and smacking him in the back with her bat, sending him back towards her friend, setting him up for the finish. ''Let's end this!'' At least she sure hoped they could, she was starting to feel the blood loss more and more as the seconds passed.

Lowlife seemed to have the advantage of raw power between the two of them, and the initial element of surprise gave him an edge. But with both of them getting into the groove of the fight, they were managing to edge the advantage back. As Kenta and the villain were stuck in this taste of strength, Freja managed to get in a solid hit on the guy's face. Which in turn left him distracted to take a full-on dropkick to the head from Kenta as he flew in.

Kenta landed in a crouched position, smiling to himself a bit with how clean the hit was, his gel retracting as Freja charged in. He didn’t pay much attention to the villain's taunts, rather focusing on the melee before him. The spikes the guy made were able to deflect Freja’s attacks but she wasn’t letting up. Swinging left and right with confidence, showing just how much damage she could do. And with how absorbed the dude was with defending himself, that gave him a chance to look for an opening.

Standing up he moved closer as he started threatening her again, only to get a solid smack in the Jaw from his hand. As she called out to him he was already dashing forward saying “yeah, time to take this home!” as the villain stumbled from the hit to the back of the head. Kenta used the railing he was eyeing earlier to kick himself up into the air, catching the guy around his neck and using the momentum to spin both of them around as he shouted “Eat this!” before shifting his body weight down, pulling the guy down face first into the pavement. Kenta landed on his back, groaning slightly in pain but getting up relatively quickly, used to fall on his back like that, while the villain seemed to lie there, breathing, but not getting up.

He groaned in slight discomfort as he moved towards Freja saying “Hey…you ok? Looks like we got him… now all we got to do is try to explain this to the stream…and also the cops once they get here” giving a light joke as he looked over his friend, trying to see if she needed help. At least his phone was still on the ground…hopefully he didn't banged up. Then again, that was probably small potatoes compared to someone coming to try and kill his friend…but at least they were ok for now.

Lowlife was knocked out cold from Kenta's devastating finisher. Once she was certain he wasn't going to get back up and start shooting more spikes she doubled over, panting, grimacing as suddenly her injuries started to hurt a lot more than they did during the heat of the moment. It was going to be even worse once the adrenaline wore off. Hopefully she didn't have to skip training tomorrow. ''Are you-'' Kenta beat her to it, asking her first. ''O-Oh, uh yeah I'll live. I think the spike he shot is still in my leg, but he got me pretty deep in the arm. Are you okay?'' She put her bat down and put a bloody hand over the upper arm he had sunk a bear trap into. ''Right...'' She looked back at the camera, then took out her phone. ''How about this, you explain it to the stream, I'll handle the police?'' Somehow that was less scary than talking to a faceless chat of hundreds or thousands of people.

''And...'' She hesitated, looking down at the ground. ''I'm sorry, I owe you an explanation for all this. How about I tell you back at school? I think my mind is going to be a little clearer once I've been fixed up.'' She shrugged apologetically. All things considered, both her and Kenta had gotten off easy. The Spiders were assassins and given their objectives this could have ended much worse for the two hero students.

Once the police arrived Freja's arm and leg were put in bandages, a temporary measure to stop the bleeding. She told them everything that they needed to know, but not necessarily the whole truth. Not the truth she was going to tell Kenta later.
