It was a bit quiet at the dorm…well, in a way. The whole place could fall into extremes. Sometimes it could be deathly quiet, everyone studying or just chilling while, and then at some points, it was chaos and pandemonium. On Friday with people having various plans after school, it tended to be quiet, and even if everyone was around they weren’t the party-hard type of sorority to keep all the campus awake at night…most of the time.

Kenta walked out looking mostly casual, still wearing his tracksuit pants and a white tank top, just finishing some homework after his afternoon jog. By the time he was in the kitchen, he was empty, though he could see Kodai on the couch from the kitchen, as well as his dog. Kenta pondered a bit while preparing a very nutritional and healthy meal of a cup of noodles for himself…ye he needed some better food but he wanted something warm fast. Marcus was one of the new members of their little community here. He heard his quirk let him turn into a dinosaur, so that was pretty rad! But he didn’t have a chance to talk with him much yet.

Well, no time like the present. As his fellow dorm mate was looking at his phone and consuming cheese, he called out to him with a quick “Yo, watcha doing?” before indulging in his own snack, eating up some of the cup noodles he had.

Marcus Ryu Kodai

Kenta knew full well this was going to be painful. His quirk was in general weak to fire and heat in general, even in its solid state flames had an easier time withering it away. He could focus on reforming and reinforcing it, pushing more gel into the shield he currently had above them all… but boy he could feel it. He was connected to his gel, so every Firey pelt on it was something he could feel. It wasn’t focused or directional, just a constant pang of hot, searing pain spreading through his body. Reminded him the best of times being slammed down on the wrestling mat…

Through gritted teeth, kneeling on one knee he endured, defending himself from the fiery rain while the other two girls tried to restrain Heimdall. Part of him wished he could do more, but it was overruled by the part of his head that was not going to let anyone get hurt, even as he felt his dome start to shatter and melt away more and more…soon most of the civilians cleared out, and the villain started to seemingly slow down his attack, tho he was still rambling like a mad man. Finally, he could feel the attack getting weaker, and the enemy himself seemed to grow…tired. Scared? He sounded almost feeble as he asked for help.

Kenta stood up panting, wobbly as his whole body pulsed with pain, but before he could say anything the villain had one more burst of energy. Rambling about Ragnarök and some guy named Psychopomp or something… another attack is incoming. He tried to move his gel but none was coming out…seconds later he was whisked away and surrounded by Stellar’s energy field, only able to watch as she endured the fire while they remained safe.
A flashback of a different girl being burned alive came to his mind…but this time it seemed he had more luck than brains. They attacked and…and Stellar was standing, hurt, but alive. Kenta breathed heavily as the fire faded, and seemingly the whole fight was over. As the Heroin was restraining him, Kenta moved closer to Heimdall as he asked his question…his face was a mixture of tired, confused, and angry. This guy who almost burnt an island to a crisp was now being all mopey and philosophical? What was it with all the smart-ass villains he encountered…did it make them feel better while they were being scumbags?!

His fist tightened, the temptation to sock the man in the face growing for a second before it unclenched, and he said “Well…idiots like you think its fine to hurt others because they upset or think they're better than everyone…and I’m just dumb enough to get in your way and spoil your fun” a mocking smile on his face. Perhaps he didn’t quite know the men’s motivations…but he also couldn’t imagine anything that would justify his actions.

He was pulled out of the small conformation as he felt someone hugging him. He didn’t resist the hug, but he winced, his whole body tingling in pain as he said “Ahh…Gee, thanks Stellar-san…You were amazing as well…Does that mean I could get a heads up on an internship for my UA classes? And, maybe you could put in a good word for the teachers so they don’t eat me alive…” his goofy nature coming back a bit after the stress of the fight went down…He imagined UA staff might be a bit tired of him getting into fights with villains like this.
After Naomi addressed him, he turned to her with a confused look saying “Erm, no problem, we probably would be done for without your help…but like, I don’t look that old do I? You're calling me sir and I’m pretty sure you could enroll into UA for a late semester if you’d try!” he laughed, not sure if all the stress was making him look old. After a moment he said “I was waiting for friends…but I probably need some rest. I imagine doctors will be coming to treat all the wounded…Wasn’t there one more woman with you? Is she ok?” Kenta said looking around. He remembered this whole thing started with Haimdall chasing some girl…she was sticking around with the gloomy-looking chick, but he couldn’t see her now…hmm”

This whole thing was giving him a bad sense of Dejavu…some weird guy with elemental powers spouting nonsensical bullshit while threatening others…fighting alongside people he didn’t meet before…only difference was this time he was alone. Sure there was an official pro hero, but there was no Farrin, none of his friends…He couldn’t fail. Not like last time.

At least he didn’t have to worry about the other two girls being completely defenseless, one of them forming her own shield from the guys flames. The transformation did look pretty freaking spooky…kind of reminded him of Leo but even more grotesque. Though with already being on the move with his attack he didn’t have to much time to get freaked out.

While the Heroin with them made sure to keep the other two girls safe Kenta managed to land a good hit in, sending the offending party toppling backward mid one of his mad speeches. His gel hand move to the ground and he used it to pull himself down, almost like a makeshift zipline as he said “Look man, just stand down and we can help! At this rate, you might end up hurting your sister with all the fire before you find her!” he called out, trying to reason with the man…perhaps hoping getting hurt a bit would snap him out of the madness. But the movement of the eyeballs made it clear that wouldn’t be the case.

He tried to consider doing something about the eyeballs but he saw the criminal move in against him. The guy wasn’t all about his quirk. Kenta moved his hands defending his ribs and pushing the man's arm away, trying to deflect the blow as he moved aside. Before he could think of his next move, Stellar came in and used her quirk trying to swing the madman away from them. Moving closer to her he asked “How long can you keep him in place? I can prepare something to trap him for a longer time but Id need a moment to build it up!” trying to form a plan while the villain was distracted.

OOC - Trying to stay focused and not think about past events, Kenta defflects the incoming punch and lets Stella make her move while asking how long she can keep the villain at bay.

“All fair, you cant be the only ones with guns around campus!” he joked, flexing his arm a bit and slapping the bit of muscle that was there. Kenta was of course in good shape, but it was more lean. He had stamina and agility, while his friend was like a brick wall, just waiting for someone to crush themselves on him. He wasn’t really worried about the contrast, but he did feel getting a bit more core strength could only serve him well.

He listened to his friend reply nodding silently before saying “Yeah, I get that. I always liked looking at heroes and all but…I didn’t grow up always wanting to be one. My dad being a policeman got to hear and see the less glamorous side of dealing with crime and all. I always wanted to do my own thing till that one screw-up I had… I guess seeing someone selflessly come and save me after I messed up inspired me in a way. For a while all I could think of was how cool the hero was…and I guess I liked the idea of being able to help others and make them feel inspired... Also probably the death stare I got from dead help me set my head straight a bit” he finished, reminiscing a bit about his own past and motivations.

The break was interrupted by the call for help below them came’ Well, at least they got to finish a bit of a meal “Yeah, lunch time’s over. Time to teach some dumbass a lesson” he said with a smile on his face as he followed behind Oberon.


Farrin

After some dodging and weaving Kenta managed to get himself out of the smoke as Lonewolf taunted/warned him about not being careful…and in a moment of scatterbrain he did look down while mouthing a quick “Wha…” more so to himself than anyone…not his proudest moment. Fortunately, he was more dressed for an actual fight now. Quickly looking up and raising his arm, the layer of gel covering him expanded in a shield-like shape, solid enough to deflect the salt bullets aimed at him.

It seems the two villains were planning to split up, right after Ryota gave the whole spiel about not playing fair “Hey, I thought you guys were going to take me…Ohsh!” he called out, seeing with the corner of his eye how his other teacher used a different facet of his ability, making one of the stray beams fire right at him. Kenta did bring up the Gel shield, which spared him from most of the impact of the beam, but it did shatter and send him flying back smacking against one of the buildings. Again, the gel on his back helped cushion the damage, though the gel on the arm that held the shield was now blasted of “Ok… one guy at a time…” he again said more to himself, but this time he didn’t call out his attack. Rather, focusing the gel around his legs, he sprung himself forward, lunging towards Ryota aiming a spinning kick at the teacher!

Kenta looked at Farrin as he sat there sandwich in hand…tho his mind clearly seemed somewhere else, only really snaping back to the moment after a few seconds “You got it…though I guess we’ll need to get someone to recount it. There is a slight chance I might owe you” he said with a joking tone. By this point with how many snacks or drinks they exchanged, it would be a bit hard to keep track.

As they ate the sandwiches he replied “That sounds like fun. You know me, I won't skip a chance to get on top of something high…though I imagine I’d need to not use my quirk for the full training huh?” he asked. Not that he didn’t know to climb without it, he had plenty of experience from back before UAU. And he also knew just how much aching was probably in his future if they ever went forward.
He listened to him reply to his question. Not a surprising response, it did feel that oftentimes being a Hero was all that was on Farrins mind. The drive was admirable… but he couldn’t help but worry about the toll on his friend, especially with how he spaced out before.

Still, he tried to lighten the mood a bit “Well it doesn’t have to be a whole business plan, like, were both set on making it as heroes, but I guess if there is anything else you ever thought about, even if briefly. Like when I wanted to be a wrestler when I was a kid and before honing into getting into hero work…though I guess those aren’t that much different in some ways… hm, actually I wonder if my wrestling school is doing shows…could be a way to earn some extra yen. Maybe even get some pointers on hero costumes…”

Kenta felt he went a bit motor mouth, but he also felt comfortable in the moment, hanging out with his friend…and he hoped if Farrin was feeling blue for whatever reason, this could help him relax, if only a little.

Farrin

He smiled as he handed over the other Sandwich to his buddy, who seemed to be somewhat deep in thought before he mentioned the food “Figured you’d be a bit hungry, but remember you owe me one” he said with a chuckle. The view of all the people going about their day was pretty good… he did like the view from a high spot in general. Probably part of the reason he enjoy free running as much as he did.

As Farrin mentioned his plans for later he said “I mean we did get a good work out already don’t you think? But your right, maybe it’s a good idea to find a gig on the side, extra money doesn’t hurt. I have my streams but I don’t have that much of a paying audience yet…well besides that one clip that went big on accident…tho dealing with that was a headache in itself” he said with a groan as he munched his sandwich, reminding himself of that incident where he and Freja were attacked.

After moment he added “Depends what you’d be looking for I guess. I bet some food places are gonna be looking for people to help out. I guess delivering food is a thing…though I don’t think we’d get away using quirks to dash to doors would we? Like…what would you like to do if you’d get the choice?” he asked slightly curious. Only other role he could imagine his friend besides a hero is some big shot Boxer…that might be hard to pull of part time probably.
