Well, the day was shaping up to be pretty good. The School was organizing a social gathering thing and this time it was a BBQ! There have been a few get-togethers already including that one time when a rich girl rented a few boats…he didn’t remember a lot from that night. Probably getting ready for a party with a couple of strong 0’s before wasn’t a good idea…though he did his pals from the Noblebright so that was neat.

This time Kenta was going to not get himself knocked out. Official school stuff and all. Though all the delicious smells of grilled meats did have him worried he’d end up in a food coma by the end of the day. He already finished one chicken skewer and had a tray with some grilled meats which weren’t as common here in Japan, a big skewer with veggies, and a yummy-looking sausage. The only thing he was lacking now was some company. He didn’t stumble upon anyone he knew yet.

By some degree of luck, he did manage to spot two familiar faces, Freja and Momo talking to some people up ahead. Momo even went the extra mile apparently, bringing in a cart with all sorts of sweet things “Yo guys, how’s it going!” he called out as he approached the group, smiling to the two friends he knew while looking around the other people. Jun-senpai was here, otherwise, he didn’t knew the other people, but part of the reason for this was to change that “Hi Freja, Momo, everyone…mind some extra company? I got food to share” he said with a smile. He didn’t quite get enough of a read on some of the girls in the gathering seemingly not feeling well with the crowd…but it didn’t hurt to break the ice a bit.

Kenta was feeling pretty right about the situation. Luck of the draw pulled Farrin and himself into one team so that was always something to make things smoother. He didn’t know the other people that well…but he remembered Farrin mentioning Jun could help him with developing his quirk, so this was a good place to exchange hello’s and maybe ask for help. Though she and his friend had some beef… he hoped Jun wouldn’t be the type of person to judge someone based on their friends. And maybe there could be a way to smooth things over between them?

Social stuff would need to wait Tho, right now they were getting ready for the exercise, in the middle of a…room? With how big the white area seemed it almost felt more like a hangar…they had some time to prepare their gear. Thankfully most of his stuff was pretty compact. The biggest thing was the drone, though it came with a harness that let him carry it on his back, and the pointer thing fit well in his hand. That was the only real offensive thing he had, his other items were more like limited bursts of power. Man…doing stuff without his quirk was going to be weird. His musing was interrupted as Jun deployed one of her items…a Car Door. A Car Door?


“Well it looks like you can at least ram it into someone” he commented as she deployed the item before the room started to shift before their eyes. Even more UA technology at work. The place started to look like…a giant toy aisle. And its mighty guardian, the Monke. He was about to question the design choice of their enemy but the fact it was charging an energy blast made him focus on dodging.
Battle plans forming quickly, Jun was at the rear as they moved forward. He moved towards Farrin, seeing him run at a much slower pace than they were used to… Kenta knew his friends' quirk did a number on his body, but he never truly apricated how much “I know how this looks but I swear this will make it easier” he called out to Farrin while pulling out one of the Fast and Curious stickers he had, and would give his friend a gentle tap on the forehead to apply it to him. These things helped you move faster, so he hoped it would help his friend. He then ran ahead, putting his natural cardio to good use. As he ran forward he would try and start to climb up one of the many isles with his free running ability, trying to gain some high ground and see if there was an exit they should be looking for.

TLDR – Kenta Ran past Farrin and applied a Fast and the Curious sticker to his forehead as per instruction (+1 Rank if speed and Awareness for 1 round)
Runs forward and tries to climb up one of the isles for a better vantage point, looking for a way out.

Kenta was calming down, though he still had his face covered in the weird mix of his quirk and tears, a few hiccups here and there. He didn’t feel bad about breaking down in front of Farrin…well, he felt bad about letting it get to him, but if there was anyone he’d want to talk about this it was his friend. As the Irish man spoke Kenta did speak up “I know, I know…and I bet…you know better than anyone about that…” pausing to collect himself a bit more.

After all, Farrin was through some shit in his life. He wasn’t sure how much his friend shared so far but it was enough to build a picture. Part of Kenta…didn’t want to put a bigger burden on his friend. He had enough to worry about as is… Farrin spoke on about the moment, with the villain launching his attack… Rationally he knew there was little they could have done. Maybe Farrin with his time turning but even so… some things were just too fast. After a moment he carried on “I know your right but… God damn it, she was like what, our age? Give or take… And I could only watch that happen…see you and Zenkai banged up…I tried my best to take the guy on, but he was fucking strong…choking the life out of me…” another pause as he remembered the close-quarter scuffle, being choked, trying to counter it right before fire flew at them.

Another deep breath before he spoke on “ I knew this wasn’t going to be easy, but I tried hard, made my quirk stronger, got faster…and the first time we’re kind of on patrol we deal with that. How do we prepare for something like that?!” he voice a bit raised, he young hero seemingly not in such distress but now getting agitated, trying to rationalize the situation in his head. There had to be something he could do better, right?

Well, things got dark pretty quickly…like, literally. Somehow his sparring partner had engulfed the area around them in a pitch-black darkness. Ok apparently this guy could quirk well…but hey, he was no slouch either, no need to panic just yet.

As Leo started to talk, Kenta stared at him…his breathing increasing as the monologue went on. Though it was most likely for a different reason than Leo would assume. Memories of that practice patrol with Farrin and Zenkai…talking about burgers before a freaking whirlwind hit them…The psychopath that was commanding it, the ensuing fight, his friends hurt… a girl he didn’t know, helping him only to melt away…

Kenta breathed out as Leo formed the sword out of the Darkness “Yeah…I was out there…fighting some psycho who could control the weather…seeing him fling people like flies, seeing…people get hurt because of some psycho that was ready to take lives. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be anything like that piece of shit…but I’m sure as hell GONNA STOP PEOPLE LIKE HIM!” he shouted as he started running towards Leo, while the two gel fists rushed forward, both aiming to strike at the darkness controlling guy, one at the head, other at the stomach. Kenta didn’t know about Leo’s background, nor did he think about how what he said could be interpreted as comparing Leo to a villain…he was angry and needed to do something about it.

Kenta managed to keep up with Farrin pretty well, as long as he didn’t turn on the turbo switch, and they both knew the right pace to make sure to feel the run in their muscles but not exhaust themselves as they reached the track. Cardio was ironically the favorite type of exercise for Kenta, he liked running and moving. He mostly got shouted at in wrestling school for not building up some bulk… which was probably fair, though he did have his quirk for more heavy lifting.

He nodded as Farrin replied saying “Yeah, got to keep practicing…you wouldn’t know someone from classes that has like a chain quirk or something?” he asked, trying to find someone who might have weapons similar to how he used his gel. He nodded as he answered his question about Sada while saying “Yeah I miss her too…but every day is getting closer to her coming back right?!” he added as they ran. Sada was a busy bee…and she and Farrin knew something about the funky family business. Guess he was lucky the most he got was chewing out from his dad for doing some dumb stuff when he was younger…

The mood soured a bit after his question “Yeah…same here” he said trying to sound cool, not meeting the large dude since then as well. Though it was clear the voice was more flat than usual. As Farrin asked him he would say “Y-yeah, I’m good…it was rough, and he got in a few good hits in…but we made it, we stopped him…licked our wounds. Even saved a few…bystanders…” he tried to justify in his head…but than he saw it again. The girl he barely met…proofed in front of his eyes. Kenta would stop running, leaning forward, breathing heavily…a lot heavier than usual after running not to long.

Farrin

“Right…well, you still needed to work on your hero name and all that,” he said with a slight twinge of guilt in his voice. It still surprised him a bit Freja was quirkless…it was admirable she was at UAU still, just…it felt so unusual. He never really met anyone without some ability before her, tho he tried his best to just treat her like any other friend. Even if he did feel like he slipped up sometimes.

He perked up a bit as she said she’d make sure other people wouldn’t be too close before laughing a bit “Well, even if you good at it, wipeouts are bound to happen. Don’t worry, I’m pretty used to falling and getting back up” he added with a thumbs up. In between doing acrobatic stuff and wrestling stuff, he sure knew how to take a fall. Even if it still hurt.

And they were live, with both of them giving quick introductions. He imagined the initial surge of the chat was hard to read, people saying hi, spamming emotes… probably some joking about the appearance of a wild girl on his stream. Though he couldn’t quite see the chat as he spoke. Before he could get into the plan for the moment, they were interrupted by someone. The guy seemed to know his stream but he didn’t know the dude “Hey, nice to meet you man, didn’t expect…wait what?” his posture stiffened as the dude continued to speak, chewing something all along…before ending up spiting some stuff at him.

Even As Freja swung her bat to defend him, Kenta was on the move sidestepping away from her and the apparent assassin. One that was attacking his friend with a bear trap hand…guy could change into metal or something. Well, didn’t matter. He was trying to hurt his friend. And he wasn’t having it.

Two gel arms would sprout from his back, rushing towards the guy's arms and trying to grab them, engulfing the bear traps in a thick gel. Whether the arms would hit their mark, or land somewhere on the side he’d called out “Well congrats, you’ll be the first dumbass criminal I beat up on stream!” before he let the gel arms pull him in closer towards the guy, zipping through the air while aiming a knee strike right at his face.
