Kenta bent over forward, breathing heavily...he really had to fight with his instinct to lay back on the ground. Apparently it was better to stand and catch your breath as you exercise. The student, while tired, was mostly content. A bit of a run and then trying to push his quirk further, using to assist his movement, and doing more precise things. Using the tentacles to grab stuff, controlling the size and width. When it came to the amount of gel he could make, and its properties, he felt pretty good with it. Though...it still wasn’t good enough to save that one girl.

He shook his head. He felt...mostly fine after the storm incident. Well, he did feel bad about it, but he wasn’t bottling up those feelings, he knew he had people to talk with, both friends and professional alike. The thing that did bother him is with as far as he went from discovering his quirk...it still felt like he could do more. He never was much of a fighter...but that would need to change. And while he knew he always had a sparring partner in Farrin, he also felt he needed to figure out things on his own. Next time...he'd have more control over it all. For now he needed to practice... though he'd probably would need to do something more intense than drill son his own. He wondered a bit if there was anyone around Beta open for a bit of a spar...

Nothing more than sparkling, mangled corpses with distinct jet black spikes jutting out of their outher shells. Squeak squeak squeak squeak. The very faint sound of something rubbery lightly bending and stretching would make Leonard's presence known, as the young ex-villain turned around to see that no enemy was left around him. Clad in his signature shiny yet black quirk-created super suit, the white haired young man sighed. These things were barely able to put up any kind of fight. He wasn't going to improve if he didn't even need to exhert himself to deal with them. "Is the lizard idiot really the only one that can at least push me a little far?" Leonard mumbled as his head turned to the guy with the slime stuff looking at him. He was used to other people looking at him, most times in either fear or disgust, but the guy was staring. Maybe his training got interrupted by his own fighting routine? "Sorry. I'll try not to smack things your way." Leonard would say to the other guy after a while. Perhaps he was waiting for an apology to stop looking at him?

Kenta was considering his next course of action…try to hit up Zenkai or Freja for some training. Maybe he could put something on a noticeboard to get someone interested… his pondering was interrupted by the sound of things crashing near him. He was quick to step back away, managing to avoid any stray debris falling directly on him…Huh, were those the training robots?

The noise was interrupted by a different one, a bit more…squeaky and squishy. Almost sounded a bit familiar. After a few moments, he saw someone, a white-haired dude with a black suit, seemingly assessing the damage around him. Kenta did gawk a bit as Leo mumbled before he turned to him. As the white-haired guy spoke to him, he jolted up before saying

“Nah, it ok you didn’t actually hit me or anything…was just thinking I was alone around here…but since you are here, were you looking for someone to practice with?” he asked with a hopeful tone before adding “I’ve been training a bit on my own…but its starting to feel like Im stuck in place. And I don’t think we ever got to train together so you know…fight against the unknown, adapting and all that? Names Kenta, by the way, hello” he finally introduced himself with a chuckle. He did get a bit too gung-ho making plans before even saying hi sometimes.

He watched as this guy went all happy and nice and asked for a fight. Now that was something... new. Probably wants to prove himself? To whom, there isn't much around anyway. Leo narrowed his eyes and looked at the guy. He was white as snow...the skin seemed almost... striped or something. Whatever quirk it was it didn't look... well...inviting. "Leo." Leonard told the other guy. Since they were making introductions, might as well give his name. Not that most people cared to remember. It was more about his other nickname. He took a couple step forwards. "My quirk is pretty dangerous and I don't really pull my punches. You still want to have a go at me?" Leonard would add, stopping a few paces away, facing his would-be opponent.

Kenta stood there, swaying his body from side to side, one leg to the other as the other guy looked at him…Did he say something bad? Was his hair or clothes messy from his training? Was the other guy just the type of dude that stared and walked away? He knew some students had a bit of an…ego to them…than again he did just randomly ask the dude for a spar out of the blue so that could have been a bit weird…he wasn’t usually the type to wanna brawl and all.

After a moment the other white-haired student did respond to him, warning him about his quirk. Kenta stood still for a second while he said “Yeah, I kind of figured you don’t half-ass it seeing how you sent those bots flying… But that’s kind of why I asked. We keep getting told how once were out in the field things don’t compare to training…” he paused for a moment, the events of the patrol flashing in his head. His friend between, the psycho they fought cackling…a girl vaporized almost in front of him…he continued a second later “P-point is, villains out there aren’t going to be pulling punches either…so I got to be ready for anything. So yeah if you want to go I’m game!” he called out, a bit more life to his voice as he held his hands out, while from his back, two strings of his gel formed into fists hanging above him, before he added “As long as we agree whoever’s left standing won't be leaving the other guy behind, heh”

As stated, Leo's mastery of his quirk and its overall potency was not understated. For the moment, the dark energy served as nothing more as having both boys standing on some sort of shiny black mirror. Yet the message behind it was pretty clear: Leo's attack range was massive. "Tell me, Kenta-san. Have you ever been out in the field." Leo inquired. This kid was good natured, he could tell, but perhaps he wasn't quite ready for what he was really asking of him. "Have you ever fought a Villain, or a close second." He would add. Perhaps the guy also didn't hear the news about his probation and his past as an actual villain, as well as his scuffles and ultimate defeat against Pro Hero Skald. "The thing that people say, that's it's not like training it's true, but it's more of a white lie to protect kids in training from caving in from the pressure. Everyone quickly understands once they get a run in with real combat, but it's kind of crude to traumatize young people with the truth." Leonard extended an arm to the side, hand open. An all black sword slowly formed from the energy coating the floor, raising upwards so that the white haired youth could grasp the hilt and brandish it with ease. "The truth is that when you're out there, you need to keep going until the threat is over. In short, you need to be ready to take lives. Can you do that Kenta-san? Can you take a life?" Leonard concluded, resting the blade in his grasp to his side.

Well, things got dark pretty quickly…like, literally. Somehow his sparring partner had engulfed the area around them in a pitch-black darkness. Ok apparently this guy could quirk well…but hey, he was no slouch either, no need to panic just yet.

As Leo started to talk, Kenta stared at him…his breathing increasing as the monologue went on. Though it was most likely for a different reason than Leo would assume. Memories of that practice patrol with Farrin and Zenkai…talking about burgers before a freaking whirlwind hit them…The psychopath that was commanding it, the ensuing fight, his friends hurt… a girl he didn’t know, helping him only to melt away…

Kenta breathed out as Leo formed the sword out of the Darkness “Yeah…I was out there…fighting some psycho who could control the weather…seeing him fling people like flies, seeing…people get hurt because of some psycho that was ready to take lives. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be anything like that piece of shit…but I’m sure as hell GONNA STOP PEOPLE LIKE HIM!” he shouted as he started running towards Leo, while the two gel fists rushed forward, both aiming to strike at the darkness controlling guy, one at the head, other at the stomach. Kenta didn’t know about Leo’s background, nor did he think about how what he said could be interpreted as comparing Leo to a villain…he was angry and needed to do something about it.

There were very few moments where Leo actually used his quirk to boost his own personal speed, but this wasn't much of a necessity and more as a way to make a point. Leonard wasn't scared to meet the boy head on, given the massive difference in their speed if he were to apply himself a little bit. "And that...is your limit, Kenta-san. Hesitation." Leo stated, taking the boy's punch head on as it smacked flat against the black of the suit covering his chest. It had some power to it, that he had to concede, but compared to someone like Jack and his punches, this one felt like a wet noodle. "Hesitation. That is what kills you in a fight. What lets others around you get killed too. I'll be brief, in case you don't know, and I am not going to sugarcoat it. I'm a Villain. I have taken lives and to be honest I wouldn't pretty much give a damn about saving people if it didn't shorten my sentence. From where I come from it's always been kill or be killed, if you don't think for yourself you're going to end up broken in a ditch." He explained, as tendrils shot from the ground to latch onto the other boy and pull him into a bind, arms and legs splayed open. Leo tapped the tip of his sword to Kenta's heart. "Impulsiveness also does you no good. Get your head straight. This is not an anime. Screaming or flashbacking during a confrontation will get you killed if your quirk doesn't let you gain power from doing both those actions. You need to be able to take a life to save another, because the guy on the other side is going to do the same thing to save his own. Everything you do needs to be accounted for. Especially when fighting someone who's clearly stronger than you." Leonard flicked the sword away, having it melt back into the floor. A fisticuff against Kenta wouldn't be something he would learn from. What Leo was after was his opponent's quirk manipulation. Their powers were similar. He wanted to push the boy to use his quirk, perhaps he could get some inspiration from it. He snapped his fingers once and let the guy go. "You are standing on my quirk. The reason you haven't lost your legs yet is because of my mercy in your regards. You also decided to just rush head on without ascertaining if your opponent's speed is higher than yours. Once again, you were not harmed due to my mercy in your regards. In short, I find this display of power pitiful. If this is all you can do, you're so beneath me it would be considered bullying for me to even try to seriously attack you." Leonard concluded, glancing at the gel he neutralized. "You can make that jelly into anything yes? Then pray tell why are you making something you already have? You can easily punch and kick with your bare body. Your quirk should be used to make something you cannot archieve on your own, either to cover your blindspot or to augment what you can do in a diverse way from your basic shit. For example, why don't you protect your body from harm? You can't save a thing if you get instantly killed." Leo tapped his suit to show as an example. "Now, stand back up and we go again, but this time I'm not fighting a shouty anime wannabee kid but someone who is training to become a Hero. Think. Adapt. Overcome. Simple as. You're surrounded by something harmful and your opponent has the advantage over your current position. Your current goal should be to turn the situation around to where you have a favorable matchup against me. Now meet expectations, or end up like the rest of those who failed me. Forgotten graves in a cemetery."

Fuck fuck, fucking shit hell fuck.
There he was, running towards the guy with his fists ready…now his gel was torn to shreds by the black stuff while he was caught up in a bind, apparently, the whole black zone thing was the guy's quirk. And it was similar to his own in a way…which would be cool if the guy wasn’t poking him with a sword while starting to talk.

Talking about how he was a villain who somehow got into UA and was just casually waltzing around the school, and now poking him with a sword. Did he find some kind of invader here? And this guy was casually talking about him like he could teach him something. Talks about casually taking lives, then going on to analyze his quirk as if he were some kind of teacher…judging him for his actions. Sounding smug and smarmy just like the elemental guy…

Kenta was quiet through the tirade, it almost seemed like he had trouble breathing, his chest heaving heavily as he breathed, almost as if something was stuck in his throat. The dude was trying to sound so smart shitting on how he used his quirk when all he did was turn the room fucking dark. However, he did give him an idea….or rather really motivated him to try something he was pondering for a while.

The guy did release him after his spiel asking him to come at him. Kenta's reply was to spit a his face…or more so at his head. The spit was a large globe of his gel he built up as the guy talked, which would expand as it flew at its intended target. If it hit, Leo would have a face full of sticky gel to deal with, with his hands or whatever he’d make with his quirk getting tangled and stuck to it before he could set himself free.
Regardless of whether the globe would hit or just distract Leo, Kenta would move, using his gel to leap into the air, away from whatever Dark Substance the guy was making. As he was in the air, instead of letting the gel in his legs flood back, he would let it seep out…as well as from the rest of his skin. As much Gel as he could wrap itself around his body, extending beyond it…until he was covered in a translucent mass.

He didn’t stop moving, bouncing from the ground in his covered form as soon as he reached it, then bouncing of the black wall surrounding him, trying to build up as much speed bouncing around to avoid being caught. Then at some point in his bounces, he would aim itself again towards Leo and charge at him, his face sneering as he tried to hit him with a clothesline in his gel-covered form rushing at him at full speed. At face value, this could be seen as similar to his first attempt but Kenta wasn’t thinking about fulfilling the guy's desires. He wanted to knock off fucking head.

He was super bouncy, perhaps he could modify the viscosity and elasticity of the gel he created. Similar kind of manipulation to his own, but vastly inferior. Well, not inferior and more... crude. The guy lacked the sheer adaptability Leo possessed, then again it was normal for a kiddo who actually handn't really fought seriously more than once. "Now that's a better way to use your stuff. The fact you secrete it from your body instead of creating it from nothing is kinda gross though." Leo stated, still analyzing the opponent. He was always a tactical mind when it came to throwing hands. From the reactions he was being given, well, it was clear that the guy in front of him was easy to manipulate through some light dissing. "Still..." Once again a frontal assault. Didn't he just tell the guy that wouldn't work? Like... a minute ago no less.  "Not good enough." Leonard slid a leg backwards to kneel under the incoming arm and connect one of his gloved hands to the charging opponent's lower gut. He didn't even need to put much force to smack hard enough to sting. If he actually put some weight into the strike it could have hurt alot more most probably. "Are you angry at me because I told you the truth?" Leonard stated, spinning his body around to kick the opponent away. "I told you frontal attacks wouldn't work. I can see them coming. Try something else or we are done here." He curtly demanded. If the guy couldn't actually fight like a proper hero then there would be no point to the whole spar in the first place. "How about we time out for a moment yeah? Cool your head down a bit so we can leave that self destructive temper tantrum you are doing behind and perhaps actually get in some proper training."

Apparently even without knowing the extent of his abilities, Leo was keen enough to avoid the blob of gel he spat at him, which landed to the ground next to him. At least it distracted him enough for him to break free…and the little bit of Gel would still be there until Leo moved.

But it seemed the guy had decided to stand his ground and watch him. Guess he just felt like rubbing in how much superior he felt even while Kenta was to far to hear him run his fucking mouth. He wasn’t sure how a villain got here in the first place. He did hear some rumors about some guy that was arrested but was entered here to try and get reformed…but this guy sure didn’t sound like someone who was trying to be a better person.

Whether he was an actual villain invading or someone doing a shitty job at pretending to be a good buy now, he wanted to smack him down. Even if it wasn’t a good idea, he really just wanted to shut the smug idiot up.
For what it worth the guy was fast, even slightly faster than him, managing to duck under his attack. Even managing to mock him for a full frontal assault after a minute of him jumping around in a random pattern, clearly the guy just loved rubbing in how superior he was.
The punch landed in his gut…though it wouldn’t actually reach his body, his gel being thick and elastic, making the fist bounce back without harming Kenta with him not putting his all into the punch. The gel retracted back into his body as Leo attacked again, but he was ready.

As the kick came, Kenta quickly moved his hands and caught the incoming kick with his arms “You always this mouthy asshole?” he taunted back, while two things happened. First, the glob of gel spat earlier would come to life, springing up and trying to stick to the back of Leo head. At the same time, Kenta tried to take Leo down twisting his body while holding his leg, doing a Dragon Screw maneuver. If Leo were to fall, he’d find the gel stuck to his head would also stick to the ground.

Leo didn't consider the other guy would get kicked on purpose to catch his leg. He would have wiggled himself free, but the gel coming from behind him had him otherwise preoccupied. No weird sticky blue goo in his perfectly dry white hair. Having to cut the thing before it would get stuck in him however forced him to allow the other guy to chuck him on the floor. "No. Usually I just kill people I fight." Leo said, remaining on the floor just to see the followup from the other guy. The difference in quirk control was clear cut, as usual since there wasn't anyone else but Jack to be able to match him blow for blow. He was kind faster too, so at this point it was more of a metter to see if the guy had enough strategy to make something happen.   "I mean, if you don't want me to help you and just beat you up I can do that. Explaining things to someone who doesn't want to listen is a waste of time. "
