Gumi loved how busy Akibahara was. Compared to her previous life in America, this was truly a dream come true. She had the most freedom one could imagine, using her life savings (and inheritance) for her day-to-day needs and having set up an intricate bartering system for her entertainment. Who wouldn’t like to make their schedule?

She started by gathering up some items she collected: a mint condition comic book, two old cellphones, a blueberry pie, and a limited edition flavor of mandarin orange gum.

The first stop was Akibahara Comics Unlimited, where she traded in the comic book for a few yen. It was probably worth a lot more, but she only needed enough for a moped rental and while she didn’t accept money she did give it away if requested. Then, once that was done, she found her usual client, Imamura Ichirou. “Imamura-saaaaaaan~ I brought ya something special! Can I borrow a ride? I need ta go see Zaza again! We’re going to give her a break before the babies come ‘round! I’ll return it later this week!” Imamura-san was a big fan of sweets and often fell prey to the exuberance Gumi gave off and made trades instead of just yen. He would accept the small yen alongside the blueberry pie and send her on her way.

Riding the moped, she would head down the usual road, stopping briefly for a man who didn’t have much. She would give him one of the phones he could sell to find himself something to eat in exchange for a sticky hand he had bought with the leftover money from the last time she did this.

With her errands being done for the week, Gumi made her way to Zaza’s place in a much more affluent area of town. She might have looked out of place with her usual white jacket and tiny hat, but it did not matter to her. When she arrived at her door, she hit the doorbell and called out, “Zaza~ It’s me! I’m here to check on the baby zazas.” Humming happily, she added, “You won’t believe what I got today It’s sooooooo cool~ Seriously, try to guess! I’ll wait- It's GUM, a limited flavor. Ya got ta try some; it’s so good! Well, I think it’s good I heard from Ichigori-san, who lives three doors down, that it’s good! I wonder if the babies would like it? I know ya can chew gum, so might as well enjoy it ya know?” She would check her phone to look at the time. “We gotta move girlie if we wanna catch the train! Beppu Onsen makes me so pumped!”

Despite having taken a step back from heroism lately, it seemed like trouble just had to find her no matter where she went. Being married to a villain probably didn’t help either. Curled up on the couch in her blankets, Kazashi wasn’t crocheting like usual, but rather inspecting an odd metal shard she had come across on one of her last days on patrol. She was going to turn it in as evidence, but she wanted to ask Chuck about it too. Maybe it looked familiar, maybe he even knew the villain it could have come from?

She set the shard aside as she heard her expected guest by the door. “Comin’!” She called out, grinning at the baby comment and Gumi calling her Zaza. Most people called her Kaz, but Gumi arguably wasn’t just like any other person. She was a fun enigma unto herself. Case in point, her tiny hat. “Ya got gum? What flavor? Ah’ll try it if ya insist!” She called out again as she was still making her way to the door. Finally, she opened it and greeted her visitor with a warm smile. “Thank ya for comin' all the way out here ta pick me up. Ah would meet ya halfway, but walkin' around is a lot more drainin' these days.'' She grinned, her attention perking a little as she put her coat on and locked the apartment door behind her. ''Did ya say onsen? Ah haven't been ta one of those in ages! Ya think we're gonna make the train on time?''

[attr="class","carvetext"]Zaza didn't like gum, but Megumi really wanted her to change her mind about it. She loved it and really really like sweets in general. Not that Zaza wouldn't know this and was nice enough to humor her!

"Mhm Mhm~!" she'd give Kazashi a hug. Since Megumi didn't really have any family besides Chuck she was super eager when he mentioned he was married. Zaza was basically like a little sister! Just not by much all things considered. "Its okay! We'll be fine I know Chuckie is busy but when I told him about this he said he'd send a car to take us to the station since he didn't want you walking around too much" she'd touch her belly "and I'd agree! Those two are really active these days, huh? You don't need to bring anything this is one of those all-inclusive situations!" She figured that Zaza would be eager to go so she wasted no time, taking her by the hand and guiding her outside

"Have you been taking all your vitamins?" Megumi would ask as they waited for the car to show up. She knew, based on the last treatment, that Kazashi's levels were a little lower than she wanted which was likely because she was dealing with two babies instead of one. "Oh oh~! We're all set!" the car pulled up, and Megumi assisted Kazashi in getting in before she'd get in herself.

It wasn't long until they reached the station and boarded their train, the estimated travel time was about 45 minutes. Thank goodness for bullet trains! In the meantime, Megumi was looking out the window as they left the city and headed into the countryside. It was rare for her to leave Tokyo since she was frequently looking after clients but she knew Goose could hold the place down and let people know she would be back in a few days.

She returned the hug immediately, always happy to not only have guests visit, but friends. And not only visit, but coming to pick her up so they could go out into town together. When was the last time she had taken time like this to herself? With Mochi near the beginning of her pregnancy? ''He did? That's so sweet of him.'' She looked at Megumi as she touched her belly. ''Really?'' Her face lit up, ''can ya feel them?'' She was more than happy to have Megumi around. In fact, on those long days, which sometimes turned into weekends where Chuck was gone for work, Megumi helped keep her sane. Helped keep her a little more active and social, otherwise Kaz was all too keen on just hiding away from the world, being an introvert at heart.

''Haven't missed a day!'' Although she had to admit, going from taking no vitamins, to suddenly have to take so many was a bit daunting. Not that she couldn't endure it for the lil ones! She would do anything to ensure they came out as healthy as possible and got the best upbringing loving parents could give them. In that sense, Megumi wasn't just emotional support and good friend, no, more like a sister, but throughout this whole ordeal she was actively helping Kaz with the pregnancy. Looking after her, giving good tips on how to stay healthy and generally putting her mind at ease. She couldn't imagine how clueless and scared she would be without Megumi there. Even something as simple as being able to text or call her if she had any questions. ''Ah don't look too pale do Ah? Should Ah take more vitamins?'' She thanked Megumi as she helped her into the car, letting out a small sigh as she sat down. Once Megumi joined her she would make small talk on their way to the station.

''Can't remember the last time Ah left Tokyo.'' She looked out the window dreamily, almost getting a little sleepy. It was a bad habit of hers to get sleepy in vehicles, car, train, bus, didn't matter, for some reason sitting in a vehicle caused her body to relax. ''Ya must get around a lot, Megumi? Do ya ever travel far for work an' stuff like that?''

A true little sister for the first time ever, even if she was only a few years younger than her "I can! I'm cheating a bit because of my gloves but they sound healthy~ Couple of best friends soon ya know?" She'd use these gloves more often than not in her work and couldn't say she wasn't eager for a bit of a break. Recently she'd been dealing with a lot of potential clients, especially with the recent uptick of villain and hero nonsense. If she was someone who cared about money these new developments would be an absolute gold mine. Family was more important to her either way so she had told Chuck to not do anything super dangerous before she got back otherwise he'd have to see a real doctor.

"No no, you look fine, they're mostly for the babies, after all" she'd wave her hand dismissively at the notion. Kazashi had a natural complexion that was darker than her own, if only slightly. It didn't take long for the train to depart and Megumi, who had stayed up the night before reading, wasn't up for long. In fact in the few minutes since they had boarded she had passed out entirely, lightly snoring in her seat. Poor Kazashi's question would go unanswered for the time being.

''Really?'' The joy was practically bursting out of her face. ''Some handy gloves ya got there!'' She chuckled. They hadn't even met up for more than a couple of minutes and she already felt so happy and reassured about everything. She had taken some big steps forward in her life lately, but at every turn she was reaffirmed that she was making the right choice in pursuing her own happiness so freely.

''R-Right! Ah see! That makes more sense!'' She giggled. She was feeling good about her progress, about the babies. It had taken a toll on her, being pregnant, but she knew that the end was in sight soon. Then, a whole new wonderful chapter of her and Chuck's lives together would begin. How would the lil ones react to aunt Megumi coming over for visits? She couldn't help but smile to herself at the thought. An orphan like her finally knowing what it would be like to have a happy family.

She didn't at all mind that Megumi fell asleep. If anything, she found it rather amusing and was tempted to snap a picture, although she refrained from doing so. ''Usually Ah'm the one that falls asleep on the train.'' She muttered to herself with a smile as she took out her phone and looked at some work related emails. ''If only Mochi an' Chuck-kun were here ta see this.'' The two people who teased her the most about always falling asleep in vehicles. Bet they didn't know she had made a new sleep rival in Megumi! Depending on how long the other woman slept, Kazashi would lean in and gently nudge her arm as they neared their station. ''Megumi-chan, we're almost there now.'' Her tone was soft, as she didn't want to startle her.

"H-Huh??" she was a bit startled initially, not remembering that they had already gotten on the train but as things became more clear she figured that they must have arrived. "Oh thank ya~!" she'd wipe the drool from her quick nap on her sleeve "Any sleep for you while I was out? Or are the babies too active?" at this point in her pregnancy it was highly likely that she had many sleepless nights thanks to those two. It's ironic because she'd probably get even less once they were actually born.

Once they pulled into the station Megumi would give a big stretch and shake out the numbness in her hands "I got your bags. I'm so ready for the hotspring!" as they would both walk out they'd be greeted by another car with a "MCCOY" sign on it. The actual drive was only a few minutes and when they arrived they were greeted by the attendants who directed them to their room and gave them a map of the place.

After a few more minutes they'd arrive at the room to change, pretty empty all things considered but this is exactly why this week was perfect. Most people were visiting graves and loved ones during the golden week not going on a mini vacation. Megumi would strip down and then fold her clothes carefully as they were special to her, a connection between her and Kazashi that they'd always have even outside of being family. "I'm gonna use my quirk a little, if anyone asks its not something I can control, kay?" she'd wink and then shrink herself to a much smaller height around 4'0 before entering the water. "At this height, I can floooooaaat~" was hard to believe that she was the older of the two given her penchant for immaturity. At least this way no one would question why she was paddling around the spring like she was a little kid.

''None for me, but Ah don't mind.'' She smiled. If anything, the fact that Megumi felt comfortable and save enough around her to fall asleep in public with her present actually meant a lot to her. Not that she suspected that anyone was after Megumi or anything, she had no reason to, but it was one of those small moments that made her feel closer with Megumi, made her feel like family.

''Same, Ah can't remember the last time Ah went.'' She sighed blissfully. It was definitely back when she had more free time to just roam around and pursue her own interests. Golden week was usually a time to mourn and be with family, but aside from her mom, Kazashi had a complicated relationship with family. One was a good for nothing father rotting in prison, the rest of her half siblings were, as far as she knew, mostly involved with villainy or petty crime. That wasn't a headache she was about to tackle when she could get a little mini vacation with Megumi instead. Kazashi followed suit, stripping out of her clothes and putting them away, only stopping briefly to look at her ring tattoo. She couldn't help but think of Chuck for a moment. Where was he right now? Was he eating okay? Was he happy? Was it a tough day at work? She was tempted to send him a message, but she didn't want to embarrass herself any further. ''Yer quirk?'' She grinned, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, before bursting out laughing at Megumi's floating comment. ''Looks fun! Do ya get ta use yer powers like that a lot?'' Had she not been pregnant, she would have transformed her whole body too and embraced the chaos, but she was content to simply be amused by Megumi's antics and letting herself soak in the hot water.

''Thank ya for invitin' me out here.'' Her eyes were already closed as she felt her whole body relax. ''Ya know Ah don't have much in the way of family... Ah have ta be honest holidays like this always felt awkward ta me.'' She opened one eye to look at Megumi, then another. ''Ah don't mean ta pry, but do ya keep in touch with most of yer family?''

Anyone else asking her this question about her quirk usage would have lied as she didn't have a license or work license. Kazashi was different seeing as she was married to and aware of Chuck's villain activities. Plus it definitely helped that her family history involved a criminal father! "To anyone else but you, I don't use my quirk at all because its illegal buuuuuut~" she would float back towards the center and then use her quirk to shrink down even further to her minimum of 3'0 which made her the size of three year old. "I can get about this small!" she'd push herself the other way and grow rapidly until she towered over Kazashi at 6'2 "and this is how tall I can get!" after this display she'd go back to her size before she started to show off and continued to float around, the heat of a warm bath was so nice!

The next question wasn't really unexpected. Megumi had learned about Kazashi's history through Chuck when she asked why a registered pro hero would willingly marry a criminal. The Kaneko Family was fairly well known to be made of delinquents which Kazashi had managed to escape from. "I dooon't~" Megumi said succinctly "Aside from Chuckie, I don't even know where most of them are, but I've been here for like 10 yearsish" her stomach would growl loudly "We can go get some dinner soon! I wanna relax a bit more but you tell me when you're ready~"

''Don't ya worry, my lips are sealed.'' She chuckled, impressed with how small Megumi could get, and then damn near slipped the next when she saw her grow over 6 foot tall. ''There's such a big difference!'' She clapped her hands together in amusement. ''Bet ya've never had ta use a steppin' stool.''

She couldn't help but feel a little sad for Megumi and the answer she gave. It hit close to home. Out of all her siblings, Kazashi had managed to contact two of them so far. Daiki who had already made an attempt on her life, and Ichiyo who threatened to and was still roaming free. Maybe she had more in common with Megumi than she realized. Even if the other was a smart doctor and she was a simpleton brawler who was obsessed with fashion. ''Dinner right about now sounds nice. Any longer in here an' Ah feel like Ah'll turn inta a shrimp.'' She giggled, slowly getting up and out of the water. ''Besides, Ah eat way more these days, an' more often too.'' She wringed some water out of her long hair. ''Sometimes Ah wonder if Ah have an appetite ta rival Chuck-kun now. Certainly feels like it.''

There was no feeling of bliss to her like using a hair dryer after soaking in a warm bath. The only way it could be topped was if she had dinner right after! Luckily for her, today really was shaping up to be a mini vacation. ''Ya got anywhere in mind?'' She was already thinking about food, couldn't help it! It wasn't her fault that Megumi brought it up first! ''Ah could kill for some good ramen.''

Luckily for Megumi she wasn't just blessed with one useful quirk, but two! When offered a towel by the staff she refused instead opting to reverse the adhesive properties on herself, which caused all the water on her body to just slide off, leaving her completely dry and ready to go.

"We can totally get whatever! Chuckie told me that the trip included food so I'll ask about where we go for that!" Megumi hadn't taken many trips so while Kazashi was getting changed she made her way down to the front desk to ask about the other accommodations. A few minutes later she'd return "So, I guess if we go downstairs they have a place for us to eat as much as we'd like! Looks like Chuckie paid for a full package." whenever Kazashi was ready, they'd head down and Megumi would order dumplings and grilled fish over rice.

''No way! Yer quirk really is a lifehack!'' She burst out laughing as Megumi just rejected the water that was on her body. ''Usually Ah turn my body inta a towel an' wring it out, but Ah haven't used my quirk that much recently. Ah don't want ta scare the lil ones.'' Even if she could use it and they would be safe, Kaz had become cautious ever since she got married. How would her younger delinquent self see her now? It didn't really matter, since Kaz as she was now was happy.

''He really thought of everythin'.'' She pulled her shirt over her head, careful not to rip it on her horns. Once she had gathered all her things she followed Megumi out. ''Well, what are we waitin' for? Let's go downstairs an' check it out?'' She grinned. ''It's nice with some time away, don't ya think? In Tokyo Ah often get recognized on the street, but out here it's different. It's more chill.''

[attr="class","carvetext"]The marvel that was Kazashi's quirk was something Megumi was impressed by endlessly. So much so that she was immediately put to work developing clothing that had a byproduct of it. In Megumi's own weird way it was a way to feel closer to family as her and chuck were the only people she had that were close to her. Sure, she had the community she lived in but those were neighbors and friendly acquaintances. She'd never had a close bond with anything before she reconnected with chuckie and met zaza.

The food would arrive shortly; talk about service! "As your doctor," she'd shove a dumpling into her mouth and munch on it, smiling happily to herself as she did so. "That's probably a good call! I'm sure even if it doesn't hurt them, they might not like it~!" one of the more traditional things she knew about medicine was that thanks to the quirk factor most of the time babies were safe from their parents quirk. Megumi was sure that with the resilience of Chuckies quirk that they'd be fine either way.

"You know, sometimes I forget that you're famous!" she'd shovel some of the grilled fish and rice into her mouth. "You work for that agency the uh...soul society? I don't remember the name!" she wasn't negligent just scatterbrained. "It's nice to take some breaks from work for sure~! Can't believe we still have a whole week ahead of us! So exciting~" it wasn't exactly super late but given the travel and Kazashi's heavy pregnancy, it was likely that they'd just finish eating and then settle down for the night.

Her mouth was already watering as their food arrived, but she didn't entirely tune out of their conversation. Maybe if the subject wasn't so important to her she might have. ''Right? Ah mean if it was an emergency Ah would, but Ah'd rather not upset them.'' She gave her tummy a little rub, as if she wanted to send a little signal to them that they probably didn't get, but that didn't matter, she still did it.

Mixing pieces of grilled fish with her bowl of rice she started stuffing her face too. ''Relatively, Ah'm nowhere near the most recognized, but when ya do rescue work an' fightin' around Tokyo, the locals are bound ta recognize ya sooner or later.'' Both for the right reasons, such as her hero persona, or the wrong reasons when they saw her horns and remembered her villain father. ''It's Tranquil Soul. The Tranquil Soul Agency.'' She corrected Megumi with a chuckle, amused by her trying to guess the name. ''Right?'' She picked up her glass and looked at the water for a moment. ''A whole week, we're livin' it up like millionaires.'' She held the glass out to do a cheers with Megumi. ''Ta us an' our vacation!''

They hadn't done particularly much that day, but she quickly felt the exhaustion hit her as soon as they went back to their room. One thing was for sure, she didn't have the same energy she used to. Hopefully Megumi wouldn't mind calling it early so they could start their next day early again tomorrow.
