Volleys of scales peppered the area as the trio drew near, the tide seemingly unending as wave after wave was fired in intervals. It did not dissuade their approach.
When the time turner leapt to attack Stagnation's maw opened to chomp down on him as fast as it could. It wasn't fast enough. An explosive draconic fist landed with full force, bursting its eye and adjusting its trajectory towards Farrin's own strike, making it land far faster than it would have otherwise. It went through, taking not just its sight but fragmenting more than breaking the side of its skull. Through their efforts combined the beast had been blinded.
It was just in time for Arc to arrive. With Progression's remains breaking line of sight long enough for the other two to take out its eyes the hardened scythe went right into Stagnation's open maw.
Piercing up it went right in and cut through its brain. Ironically, Stagnation stilled. In death it ceased to move and crashed to the ground.
Peace had been restored. The green grass swayed softly giving a peaceful aura to the pristine surroundings, more like a place to have a picnic than one where a life-threatening battle had just taken place.
Except, something was off.
Why was the grass green again and perfectly whole where there had been decayed striped and furrows of earth? Why did it seem to sway in a breeze, a breeze none of the people present could feel? In the heat of battle it was easy to forget the larger picture. This was an undersea facility. There was no wind. More importantly, why had the Nomu stayed entirely within the bounds of this perfectly circular clearing, not even fleeing when their death was nigh certain? The trees at the edge of the clearing rustled and perhaps it was a trick of the eye but the mushrooms appeared to have just the slightest bit of bioluminescence when viewed from the corner of one's eye. What it all meant was unclear but one thing wasn't.
It was time to go.

With the burning jacket held tightly over its head by Arc Progression's eyes remained shut. Little did it know that they would never open again, for the trio had set up a devastating combo indeed.
Robbed of its sight the serpentine Nomu charged headfirst into the trap, utterly ignorant as to its fate until it was already caught in the slow field with its maw wide open. The laser flew right in.
With a flash that was first seen, then felt and finally heard a tremendous explosion tore the beast asunder. Concentrated within its maw the power of progression caused both incendiary and laser alike to go off at the same place. The results were positively catastrophic. Like a flower in bloom the fiery explosion sprouted from within and blasted Progression's head apart entirely, nought but a charred hollow remaining where its neck had connected to it.
Through the fire and flame the headless corpse kept going as the snow field snapped off, crashing through the place Farrin and Jack had teleported away from and continuing all the way to where they'd stood before, green grass and brown soil flying through the air as it carved a furrow into the ground.
Stagnation's gaze too was briefly broken as the smoke kicked up by the explosion forced it to close its eyes. It did not remain so for long however. Dragged behind Progression's corpse Stagnation's gaze whirled to face Jack and Farrin, locking them in its sight even as it coiled and turned to move past Stagnation's remains. It's head sat lower than its body, spine bent forwards as its scales began to bristle.
With its muscles bulging it heaved the body of the headless Nomu in front of it, eyes barely peeking over, while it let out a loud roar and opened fire. Scales fired off its form in waves with only a few seconds in between the barrages. Arc, Farrin and Jack had struck a devastating blow, yet the fight was not yet over. A moment's carelessness was all it would take to turn the tides against them once more.
TL;DR:
-With Arc keeping Progression blinded and Farrin catching it in a slow field Jack's laser lands fully, their combination attack blowing the beast's head to smithereens!
-Briefly blinded by the explosion Stagnation's eyes shut before reopening and locking Farrin and Jack in its sight.
-Dragged along by the headless body Stagnation continues all the way past where Farrin and Jack had been standing.
-It then flies over Progression's body, hoists it up in front of it and begins to fire a barrage of scales at the trio in waves. Each wave of scales flies out with only seconds in between them.

Current Targets of Stagnation's Gaze:
